A filmmaker travels through the West Bank exploring the relationship between Palestinians and Israeli settlers.
"We recognise that the Palestinian state must be big enough to be viable, to be independent, to be prosperous. We will be generous," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said.
But his words have rang hollow.
In the face of international condemnation, the incremental encroachment of new Israeli settlements onto Palestinian land goes on with little restraint.
With every square metre of territory that is taken, with every Palestinian olive grove that is burnt down, or house that is demolished, the land available for an independent Palestine state shrinks a little more.
But why is the settlement movement so difficult to stop? Who is driving it and why? Is it destined to continue until there is no more Palestinian land to take?
In this film, French producer and reporter Paul Moriera travels through the West Bank to meet Palestinians and Israeli settlers.
In Hebron, Moriera sees how the old Arab city is gradually being overwhelmed by Israeli incomers, whose security forces are imposing a bizarre street-by-street apartheid on the Palestinians who have always lived there.
In new hilltop settlements, built on stolen land, he encounters the sometimes startling intolerance of their ultra-orthodox communities who will do whatever they can to take more.
Meanwhile the outside world looks on helplessly - either unable or unwilling to intercede - and there are few signs this tidal wave of occupation and annexation is ever going to end.

Following recent election success, Israel’s ultranationalist right held a zealous march on Jerusalem Day; a day of celebration for them, but a day of sorrow for Palestinians and the secular left.
Bringing together pro-nationalist zeal and religious fervour in a show of force, supporters of the Jewish Home Party, whose success in recent elections heralds the entry into the mainstream of the pro-settler hardcore, recently marched in the holy city. They claim their right to the land from Judaism’s holy texts; but not everyone in Israel agrees with their views. “People from Tel Aviv think all settlers throw stones at Arabs,” says a settler from Susya. Support for the Jewish Home Party is strong on the West Bank, where settlements are continuing to expand. The mayor of Wadi-Fukim says every day yellow signs declaring ‘State Land’ go up on new areas of the Palestinian village. What’s more, Beta-Elit, the neighbouring settler housing development, dumps its sewage on their agricultural land, he claims. “Our produce from the village is famous in Palestine,” says the mayor, but that reputation has now been tarnished. Only 450 of the 3000 acres that once constituted Wadi-Fukim now remain. Too much, some Israelis who attended the Jerusalem Day march would say. One young nationalist put it plainly for the cameras: “Every single spot belongs to us - not a single piece for other people.”

Clashes have erupted between Israeli settlers and Palestinians across the occupied West Bank after a drive-by shooting killed two settlers in the territory.
The settlers backed by Israeli forces stormed towns and villages across the occupied territories and tried to set Palestinian houses on fire. Several Palestinians have been injured. Tensions between Israeli settlers and Palestinians have been running high in recent weeks. Palestinians blame the violence on attacks by Israeli settlers and troops which take place routinely in the West Bank. The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas described Thursday’s drive-by shooting as a response to their crimes against Palestinians.

HEBRON, ISRAEL — Graphic images have emerged showing the death of an Israeli man after he was run over by Palestinian driver. Jewish Israeli man Avraham Chasno, 54, died on October 20, 2015 after he was run over by a truck.
Chasno, a resident of Kiryat Arba, an Israeli settlement near Hebron, was driving on Route 60 near the West Bank town of Al-Farwar when rocks were reportedly hurled at his car.
Chasno then stopped his car and, brandishing a wooden club, got out of his vehicle to confront the stone-throwers.
A short time later, a truck driven by a Palestinian man struck Chasno and ran him over. Chasno died at the scene despite attempts to resuscitate him.
The driver sped away from the gory scene, but later turned himself into Israeli authorities, claiming the incident was an accident.
Israeli Shin Bet investigators are now reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing Israeli soldiers who were at a nearby post before determining whether or not to charge the truck driver.
Chasno is survived by his wife, seven children and nine grandchildren.

An Israeli settler has stabbed and injured several Palestinians in the occupied territories.
The incident took place outside a school in the city of Dimona. The Israeli assailant first stabbed a 35-year-old Bedouin laborer and then attacked three other Palestinian workers as he was fleeing the scene. The attack comes amid the flare-up in tensions between the Israeli regime and Palestinians. The occupied territories have been the scene of similar incidents over the past several days. On Thursday, violent clashes erupted across the Palestinian lands for the seventh consecutive day. Palestinian Health Ministry says at least seven Palestinians including a child have been killed by Israeli forces since the beginning of October. It also said more than 750 others have been injured by the Israeli army.

wn.com/Israeli Settler Stabs 4 Palestinians In Dimona

Filmen kan du se her.

The 29th of March 2015 a Norwegian group visited Sheikh Jarrah in East Jerusalem. We visited Nabil Al Kurd`s house. Half of it has been occupied by israeli settlers, with support from Israel.
As we were standing outside the house one of the settlers started to yell at us. He wanted us to go, stop filming "his house" and said that with the support of Bibi (Netanyahu) Palestine is finished. The movie had over 250 000 views on Facebook before it was removed (reason unknown). Please watch and spread the movie.

Tension is continuing to mount in Israel over a string of recent Palestinian stabbing attacks and an intense crackdown by the Israeli government. Since October 1, at least 58 Palestinians have been shot and killed by Israelis at the scene of attacks or during protests in the West Bank and Gaza. Israeli police say 10 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian stabbings or shootings. The incident took place after Ascherman tried to film Israeli settlers setting Palestinian olive trees on fire in the West Bank village of Awarta outside of Nablus. The video shows the masked man grabbing a knife out of his back pocket, then repeatedly lunging at the 55-year-old rabbi, who was attempting to retreat. The masked man also kicked and punched Ascherman while making threatening gestures with the knife. The settler eventually ran away. We speak with Rabbi Arik Ascherman, who co-founded Rabbis for Human Rights in 1988. For over a decade the group has dispatched volunteers to protect the Palestinian olive harvest.

Israeli settlers have set a Palestinian car on fire in the East Jerusalem al-Quds amid heightened tensions across the occupied territories.
The perpetrators wrote racist slogans including “Death to Arabs” on the car. Israeli settlers have carried out various acts of vandalism and violence including arson attacks on Palestinian property in the occupied West Bank in recent years. Back in July, they torched a Palestinian home in the West Bank village of Duma, killing an 18-month-old baby and fatally injuring his parents. More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 settlements in the occupied territories.

Two Palestinian children aging 12 and 14 were shot in cold blood north of Jerusalem today. Medical assistance was not offered, which led to the older child's death. The slain Palestinian child has been identified as Hasan Manasra.
A Jewish settler verbally abuses the children while the Israeli police is watching.
As usual, the Israeli police claims the children stabbed zionist settlers, but nobody was stabbed. Neither a knife was caught with the kids and there were no victims. The ambulance that supposedly carried the Israeli victims could have taken Manasra, too, but he actually bled to death instead.
To those who support Israel's policy... have a look at reality.

A new political movement of young, second generation Israeli settlers are striving for new relations with their Palestinian neighbours. They are not only in favour of a Palestinian State; they even want to live in it.
Some settlers do not see themselves as an obstacle for peace. On the contrary - they see their presence as a way to build new relationships with Palestinians. They argue that the Settler issue has the easiest of solutions. Why couldn't they continue to live within a Palestinian state? Nachum Pachenik is a settler from the illegal settlement of Sde Boaz and a co-founder of the Land of Peace movement. "For me it's not about keeping the land... it's about achieving real peace." Ziad Sabatin, a Palestinian member of 'Land of Peace' specifically wants to get in touch with settlers because they are the very enemy with whom peace has to be made. "I have come to the conclusion that terror leads only to more terror. If you get to know each other, the fear disappears". Despite the willingness of both sides, making peace in occupied territories is still a potentially dangerous business. "There are people who have very different visions about the future", says Jewish settler Assaf Harel.

Gaza is in flames, three Israeli teens are dead, Palestinian children have become victims of revenge attacks by Jewish settlers for the death of those three teens that we have yet to know who even killed them, and now there's rumors of a third Intifada on the horizon.
www.mintpressnews.com
Israeli politicians are being blamed for stoking the settler violence against children and blatant racism against Palestinians, as politicians like Benjamin Netanyahu called for vengeance for the death of the three Israeli teens.
Tensions are high, and thanks to social media and people of conscience, the world saw for the first time in a long time the racist and violent culture of Israeli settlers after 17-year-old Mohammad Abu Khdair was kidnapped, then forced to drink petrol, and then burned alive by those settlers. Now, even U.S. media is paying close attention to the events there, after an American 15 year old was nearly beaten to death by Israeli soldiers for passing by the wrong place at the wrong time.
Here to talk about what's happening on the ground is journalist Sheren Khalel, a Palestine and Israel freelance correspondent for MintPress as well as for Vice, Middle East Monitor and Ma'an News Agency.
Also joining us today is Matthew Vickrey, who is also a Palestine and Israel freelance correspondent for MintPress as well as for Vice, Middle East Monitor and the Middle East Eye.

300,000 setllers now occupy outposts that range in size from plywood shacks to full-blown suburban housing complexes.

After the burning alive of 18-month-old Ali Dawabsheh by a fanatical Zionist settler, the world has reacted with outrage.
The attack was so horrendous that even Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu distanced himself from it, calling it an act of terrorism.
But on today’s show we will be asking to what extent Israel is responsible for the activities of its extremists. Are these fanatical terrorists really just a few bad apples, as Netanyahu would have us believe?
Or are they the product of decades of deliberate Zionist policy to colonize stolen land?

Inspired Non-Violent Palestinian, Ali Abu Awwad, in dialogue with his new friend, Israeli Rabbi, Hanan Schlesinger; A Conversation about Palestinian Non-Violent Resistance and the Changing of MInds moderated by Rabbi Ellen Lippman.
Ali Abu Awwad is a leading Palestinian advocate of nonviolence among Palestinians, who reaches out to Jewish Israelis at the heart of the conflict. Ali has toured the world many times over, telling his riveting story of personal transformation from violent activism and imprisonment, through bereavement and the discovery of the path of nonviolence.
Hanan Schlesinger is an Orthodox rabbi and teacher, and a passionate Zionist settler who has been profoundly transformed by his friendship with Ali. His understanding of the reality of the Middle East conflict and of Zionism has been utterly complicated by the parallel universe to which Ali has introduced him.
Rabbi Ellen Lippman is Rabbi of Temple Kolot Chayeinu/Voices of Our Lives where the event was held, in Brooklyn, New York. on September 7, 2014.
Sponsors: Kolot Chayeinu/Voices of Our Lives and Rock Blossom Sangha (Brooklyn Community of Mindfulness)
Co-sponsors: Brooklyn For Peace; Congregation Beth Elohim; Dialogue Project; Muslim Consultative Network; Park Slope Jewish Center; T’ruah (Rabbinic Call for Human Rights); Union Temple; Ways of Peace
Ali, Hanan, and other Israelis and Palestinians have been involved for the past six months in creating Roots/Judur/Shorashim, a center for nonviolence, understanding and reconciliation. http://www.FriendsOfRoots.net Roots is being established on a piece of land owned by the Awwad family, in the heart of Gush Etzion and abutting the Palestinian town of Beit Umar. This location is one of the rare places that both Palestinians and Israelis can access without special government permits, thus facilitating grassroots, unmediated get-togethers and deep conversations between people from the two sides.
The Palestinians and Israelis involved in this initiative do not hide the many deep disagreements between them. They are deeply aware of the complexities of the conflict and of the lack of equality between the two sides. What unites them is their honest search for human understanding and nonviolent resolution of the conflict.
To build support for these initiatives, Ali will be touring the United States from August 25th until October 11th. Rabbi Schlesinger will be joining him from about September 9th to September 22nd.
Ali and Hanan tell their personal stories and of their efforts to build a better future for their peoples. They come with no ready peace plans in hand, but only with the conviction that human understanding and trust will be the prerequisites for lasting justice, freedom and peace on that tiny sliver of land that they both call home.
Roots is an outgrowth of the Palestinian Institute of Nonviolence, an intra-Palestinian initiative being nurtured by Ali on the same piece of land, a center for the teaching of the philosophy and methodology of nonviolence to the next generation of Palestinian leaders. Ali’s vision is to create a Palestinian movement that would place nonviolence at the very core of the identity of its activists.

1. The Palestinian Authority has submitted a lawsuit against Israel with the International Criminal Court.
The PA’s lawsuit attributes criminal responsibility to Israel for the savage killing of a Palestinian baby in the Occupied Palestine. 18-month-old baby Ali Dawabsha was burned to death in the Israeli terror attack. The settlers had thrown a fire bomb into his parents’ bedroom when they were asleep. Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza held protests to honor baby Dawabsha. One teenager was also shot in the protests by Israeli forces and the boy later died from his wounds. Meanwhile, Israel says it will keep building the illegal settlements in the occupied lands. The UN has reported over 120 Israeli settler terror attacks on Palestinians in 2015.
2. The US warns Syria against resisting militants operating within Syria.
For Syria, the US claims that its strategy is for the militants to destroy ISIL, not the government of Bashar al-Assad. Analysts say the US and its allies are using ISIL as an excuse to overthrow Assad. Obama has authorized airstrikes to defend militants if Syria attacks them. The US has announced it will train 3,000 more militants in Syria by the end of 2015. Analysts also warn that the US support and training of more militants in Syria will only benefit ISIL and is simply a repetition of what created ISIL and other Takfiri groups in the first place. Russia says the US strikes on Syria would be an illegal act of aggression and China says that although the world must fight terror, national sovereignty must be respected.

SYNOPSIS
Mohammed El Kurd is a Palestinian boy growing up in the neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah in the heart of East Jerusalem. When Mohammed turns 11, his family is forced to give up part of their home to Israeli settlers, who are leading a campaign of court-sanctioned evictions to guarantee Jewish control of the area.
Shortly after their displacement, Mohammed's family and other residents begin peacefully protesting against the evictions, determined not to lose their homes for good. In a surprising turn, they are quickly joined by scores of Israeli supporters who are horrified to see what is being done in their name. Among them is Jewish West Jerusalem resident Zvi Benninga and his sister Sara, who develop a strong relationship with Mohammed and his family as they take on a leading role in organizing the protests.
Through their personal stories, My Neighbourhood goes beyond the sensational headlines that normally dominate discussions of Jerusalem and captures voices rarely heard, of those striving for a shared future in the city.
My Neighbourhood follows Mohammed as he comes of age in the midst of unrelenting tension and remarkable cooperation in his backyard. Highlighting Mohammed's own reactions to the highly volatile situation, reflections from family members and other evicted residents, accounts of Israeli protesters and interviews with Israeli settlers, the film chronicles the resolve of a neighbourhood and the support it receives from the most unexpected of places.
My Neighbourhood is directed and produced by Rebekah Wingert-Jabi, who documented Mohammed's story over two years, and acclaimed filmmaker Julia Bacha. It is the latest production by Just Vision, an award-winning team of Palestinian, Israeli, North and South American filmmakers, journalists and human rights advocates dedicated to telling the stories of Israelis and Palestinians working nonviolently to achieve security, freedom and peace in the region.

‘What do they have inside their hearts & minds?’ That is what the uncle of an 18-month old Palestinian burned to death wondered aloud after his family’s house was the target of hate-filled Israeli settlers’ arson attack. While condemnations have flowed from all quarters & the key word ‘terrorism’ has been used by all, after a long track record of Israeli settlers getting away with all forms of violence, possibilities for accountability are dim.
