World Trade Center (film)

World Trade Center is a 2006 disaster drama film directed by Oliver Stone and based on the September 11 attacks at the World Trade Center. It stars Nicolas Cage, Maria Bello, Michael Peña, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Stephen Dorff and Michael Shannon. The film was shot between October 19, 2005, and February 10, 2006, and released on August 9, 2006.

Plot

On September 11, 2001, Port Authority Police officers John McLoughlin and Will Jimeno are patrolling the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan when they see a plane fly dangerously low overhead. As all of the police officers return to the station, they see on TV that the North Tower of the World Trade Center has been hit by the plane. Sergeant McLoughlin assigns many of the officers to assist in a precautionary evacuation attempt of the North Tower and they board a Metropolitan Transit Authority bus. On the bus, they hear reports that the South Tower is also hit by another plane. When they arrive at the World Trade Center, they realize the extent of the disaster, and see one of the victims jump out of the towers to certain death. The men proceed to get safety equipment from Building 5 and enter the concourse between the towers.

Three World Trade Center

Three World Trade Center (also known as 175 Greenwich Street) is a skyscraper under construction as part of the rebuilding of the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan, New York City. The project lies on the east side of Greenwich Street, across the street from the previous location of the Twin Towers, which were destroyed during the September 11 attacks in 2001. Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Rogers, of Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, was awarded the contract to design the building, which will have a height of 1,079 ft (329 m) tall with 80 stories.As of October 2013, its below-grade foundations are complete, and several floors have been built above street level. The building is slated to be completed in 2018.

Marriott World Trade Center was previously located at the address until its destruction in 2001. It was a hotel building of 22-stories, a steel-frame and 825 rooms. It had a roof height of 242 feet (74 m). Construction began in 1979 and it opened in July 1981 as the Vista International Hotel.

Six World Trade Center

Six World Trade Center was an 8-story building in Lower Manhattan, New York City. The building opened in 1973. It was also the building in the World Trade Center that had the least number of floors. The building served as the U.S. Customs House. It was demolished in 2001 as a result of the September 11th terrorist attacks.

Original building (1973–2001)

Six World Trade Center was first proposed in 1968 together with the World Trade Center site. Construction finished in 1973. The original 6 World Trade Center was home to the US Custom House. It is a 537,693-square-foot (49,953-square-meters), 8-story building in Lower Manhattan, New York City, part of the World Trade Center skyscraper family. It was also the building in the World Trade Center that had the fewest floors, (the building had 8 floors). From the Austin J. Tobin Plaza level, on which the main structure was built, it had a height of 92 feet (28 m) but was 105 feet (32 m) above the actual ground level. It was demolished following the destruction of the World Trade Center, during the September 11 attacks in 2001.

Richard of Dunkeld

Richard († 1178) was a 12th-century bishop of Dunkeld. He got the bishopric of Dunkeld, the second most prestigious bishopric in Scotland-north-of-the-Forth, after serving the King of Scots. He was capellanus Regis Willelmi, that is, chaplain of King William of Scotland, and had probably been the chaplain to William during the reign of King Máel Coluim IV. He was consecrated at St Andrews on 10 August 1170, by Richard, former chaplain of King Máel Coluim IV but now the bishop of St Andrews. Richard continued to have a close relationship with King William, and was in Normandy with the king in December 1174 when the Treaty of Falaise was signed.

He died in 1178. He allegedly died at Cramond in Midlothian and was buried on Inchcolm. Both details may be the result of confusion with Richard de Prebenda, but buriel on Inchcolm was common for the bishops of Dunkeld.

Street football

The term street football and street soccer (in North America) encompass a number of informal varieties of association football. These informal games do not necessarily follow the requirements of a formal game of football, such as a large field, field markings, goal apparatus and corner flags, eleven players per team, or match officials (referee and assistant referees).
