By the mid-20th century, the U.S. Marine Corps had become a major theorist and the dominant practitioner of amphibious warfare.[15][16][17] Its ability to rapidly respond on short notice to expeditionary crises gives it a strong role in the implementation and execution of American foreign policy.[18] The USMC has around 194,000 active duty members and just under 40,000 reserve Marines as of 2010.[3] It is the smallest of the U.S. Armed Forces in the U.S. Department of Defense.[19][20][21]
Mission
The USMC serves as an expeditionary force-in-readiness. As outlined in 10 U.S.C. § 5063 and as originally introduced under the National Security Act of 1947, it has three primary areas of responsibility:
The seizure or defense of advanced naval bases and other land operations to support naval campaigns;
The development of tactics, technique, and equipment used by amphibious landing forces in coordination with the Army and Air Force; and
Such other duties as the President may direct.
This last clause, while seemingly redundant given the President's position as Commander-in-chief, is a codification of the expeditionary responsibilities of the Marine Corps. It derives from similar language in the Congressional acts "For the Better Organization of the Marine Corps" of 1834, and "Establishing and Organizing a Marine Corps" of 1798. In 1951, the House of Representatives' Armed Services Committee called the clause "one of the most important statutory – and traditional – functions of the Marine Corps." It noted that the corps has more often than not performed actions of a non-naval nature, including its famous actions in Tripoli, the War of 1812, Chapultepec, and numerous counter-insurgency and occupational duties (such as those in Central America), World War I, and the Korean War. While these actions are not accurately described as support of naval campaigns nor as amphibious warfare, their common thread is that they are of an expeditionary nature, using the mobility of the Navy to provide timely intervention in foreign affairs on behalf of American interests.[22]
In addition to its primary duties, the Marine Corps has missions in direct support of the White House and the State Department. The Marine Band, dubbed the "President's Own" by Thomas Jefferson, provides music for state functions at the White House.[23] Marines from Ceremonial Companies A & B, quartered in Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C., guard presidential retreats, including Camp David, and the Marines of the Executive Flight Detachment of HMX-1 provide helicopter transport to the President and Vice President, with the call signs "Marine One" and "Marine Two", respectively.[24] By authority of the 1946 Foreign Service Act, the Marine Security Guards of the Marine Embassy Security Command provide security for American embassies, legations, and consulates at more than 140 posts worldwide.[25]

Airlines control the access to the aircraft by checking passengers' boarding passes and matching them with the list of passengers. Many airlines use the IATA standard Bar Coded Boarding Passes (BCBP) to automate this process. A 2D bar code is scanned and the data are sent to the airline's system to look up the list of passengers. If the passenger is entitled to board, a positive message is sent back to the airline agent.

Mission
The USMC serves as an expeditionary force-in-readiness. As outlined in 10 U.S.C. § 5063 and as originally introduced under the National Security Act of 1947, it has three primary areas of responsibility:
The seizure or defense of advanced naval bases and other land operations to support naval campaigns;
The development of tactics, technique, and equipment used by amphibious landing forces in coordination with the Army and Air Force; and
Such other duties as the President may direct.
This last clause, while seemingly redundant given the President's position as Commander-in-chief, is a codification of the expeditionary responsibilities of the Marine Corps. It derives from similar language in the Congressional acts "For the Better Organization of the Marine Corps" of 1834, and "Establishing and Organizing a Marine Corps" of 1798. In 1951, the House of Representatives' Armed Services Committee called the clause "one of the most important statutory – and traditional – functions of the Marine Corps." It noted that the corps has more often than not performed actions of a non-naval nature, including its famous actions in Tripoli, the War of 1812, Chapultepec, and numerous counter-insurgency and occupational duties (such as those in Central America), World War I, and the Korean War. While these actions are not accurately described as support of naval campaigns nor as amphibious warfare, their common thread is that they are of an expeditionary nature, using the mobility of the Navy to provide timely intervention in foreign affairs on behalf of American interests.[22]
In addition to its primary duties, the Marine Corps has missions in direct support of the White House and the State Department. We are at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), the main airport of Hong Kong located on the island of Chek Lap Kok. This new airport is also called Chek Lap Kok Airport, to distinguish it from the old Hong Kong Airport called Kai Tak Airport. We have just arrived on a Bangkok Airways flight from Koh Samui (USM), Thailand and are in transit on our way to our Finnair flight to Helsinki (HEL), Finland. We have landed at Hong Kong Airports North Satellite Concourse and the footage shows our short bus drive and walk from North Satellite Concourse (International arrivals and departures) to Terminal 1 (international departures).
The footage shows our disembarkation from our Bangkok Airways flight and then follows our transit walk from Hong Kong Airports (HKG) North Satellite Concourse to Terminal 1. The transit walk from North Satellite Concourse is very short and passengers with a connection flight are quickly ushered onto a terminal shuttle bus which quickly transports you to Terminal 1. Once you arrive at Terminal 1 you once again have to pass security control (these areas are not included in the footage as filming is not allowed). Transit passengers passing the security check should be aware that any liquids such as water, soft drinks etc. (even purchased at the previous airport after security control) over the allowed limit have to be handed over to security (the rules are the same as if this is the first time you are passing through airport security for a flight). Once inside Terminal 1 at Hong Kong International Airport you arrive in a huge long terminal hall full of tax free shops and restaurants in the one side and then the departure gates with long transport escalators on the other side (there are a few tax free shops at the gate departure hall, but most of the tax free shops and restaurants are positioned at the start of the terminal). The walk to the gates is easy and their locations are logical so it is difficult to get lost when walking to your flights departure gate. As mentioned the walk to the departure gates at Hong Kong Airports Terminal 1 is not far, but that being said people with walking disabilities should organise assistance for themselves. One could see that there where plenty of passenger assistance vehicles driving around the terminal to the various gates. Passengers who want to have a meal or just a snack before their flight will find that there is a huge selection of local and international restaurant chains on the first floor looking out over the departure gates (called the Food Court). Hong Kong Airport has actually in 2014 won the Skytrax Award for "Worlds Best Airport Dining". This footage includes a walk through the airports restaurant area on the first floor of Terminal 1. Our Finnair flight, an Airbus A340, was located at Gate 32 at the airport. The Flight departed on time and we where boarded according to our seat groups (very convenient making boarding of the aircraft very efficient). The video footage shows the walk from Gate 32 down the Jet bridge (also called gangway, jetway, airbridge, aerobridge, passenger walkway or portal) and into the passenger cabin of our Finnair A340 aircraft.

Two battalions of Continental Marines were formed on 10 November 1775 in Philadelphia as an Infantry force capable of fighting for independence both at sea and on shore.[12] The role of the Corps has since grown and evolved, expanding to aerial warfare and earning popular titles such as "America's third air force" and "second land army".[13] The Marine Corps has distinguished itself as it has served in the majority of American wars, from its inception to the modern era, and attained prominence in the 20th century when its theories and practices of amphibious warfare proved prescient and ultimately formed the cornerstone of the Pacific campaign of World War II.[14]
By the mid-20th century, the U.S. Marine Corps had become a major theorist and the dominant practitioner of amphibious warfare.[15][16][17] Its ability to rapidly respond on short notice to expeditionary crises gives it a strong role in the implementation and execution of American foreign policy.[18] The USMC has around 194,000 active duty members and just under 40,000 reserve Marines as of 2010.[3] It is the smallest of the U.S. Armed Forces in the U.S. Department of Defense.[19][20][21]
Mission
The USMC serves as an expeditionary force-in-readiness. As outlined in 10 U.S.C. § 5063 and as originally introduced under the National Security Act of 1947, it has three primary areas of responsibility:
The seizure or defense of advanced naval bases and other land operations to support naval campaigns;
The development of tactics, technique, and equipment used by amphibious landing forces in coordination with the Army and Air Force; and
Such other duties as the President may direct.
This last clause, while seemingly redundant given the President's position as Commander-in-chief, is a codification of the expeditionary responsibilities of the Marine Corps. It derives from similar language in the Congressional acts "For the Better Organization of the Marine Corps" of 1834, and "Establishing and Organizing a Marine Corps" of 1798. In 1951, the House of Representatives' Armed Services Committee called the clause "one of the most important statutory – and traditional – functions of the Marine Corps." It noted that the corps has more often than not performed actions of a non-naval nature, including its famous actions in Tripoli, the War of 1812, Chapultepec, and numerous counter-insurgency and occupational duties (such as those in Central America), World War I, and the Korean War. While these actions are not accurately described as support of naval campaigns nor as amphibious warfare, their common thread is that they are of an expeditionary nature, using the mobility of the Navy to provide timely intervention in foreign affairs on behalf of American interests.[22]
In addition to its primary duties, the Marine Corps has missions in direct support of the White House and the State Department. The Marine Band, dubbed the "President's Own" by Thomas Jefferson, provides music for state functions at the White House.[23] Marines from Ceremonial Companies A & B, quartered in Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C., guard presidential retreats, including Camp David, and the Marines of the Executive Flight Detachment of HMX-1 provide helicopter transport to the President and Vice President, with the call signs "Marine One" and "Marine Two", respectively.[24] By authority of the 1946 Foreign Service Act, the Marine Security Guards of the Marine Embassy Security Command provide security for American embassies, legations, and consulates at more than 140 posts worldwide.[25]

Continental Airlines in collaboration with the Transport Security Administration (TSA) in the United States introduced electronic boarding passes at several American airports on Wednesday.

"If you think about the business traveller, who may not have access to a printer or fax machine, they now can use that mobile phone or PDA, skip the counters and go straight to the checkpoint," he said.
Passengers receive an electronic boarding pass by confirming the code on their electronic ticket.
A boarding pass is then sent to the passenger's mobile phone with an encrypted bar code containing the passenger's name and flight information.

Continental Airlines in collaboration with the Transport Security Administration (TSA) in the United States introduced electronic boarding passes at several American airports on Wednesday.
The organisations pioneered these passes to reduce the number of fraudulent boarding passes and reduce the time passengers spent standing in a queue at the check in counter.

Boarding ramps are now available at 19 more stations across the Tube network.
The ramps are used to bridge the gap between platform and train for customers using wheelchairs and mobility scooters. They were first used during the London 2012 Games at 16 stations.

Condor flight Airbus A320 Frankfurt to Tenerife (taxi, takeoff, turbulence, landing)
Condor flight DE1478 from Frankfurt to Tenerife Sur in September 2015. Flight was operated by Danish Air Transport A320 OY-JRK in Adria Airways colors. Video includes bus ride from the gate to a remote stand, boarding, taxi from Terminal 1 to runway 18 west for takeoff. Shortly before takeoff an Air Canada Airbus A330 is accompanied by fire trucks. Emergency reason unknown. Video continues with climbing through the clouds, snack for lunch, and inflight turbulence with serious wing flex. Then descend and approach, landing at Tenerife Sur Airport, complete taxi to the Terminal until engine shut down. Hope you enjoy.

We make stops at Rahway (5:20), Linden (10:00), Elizabeth (17:00), Newark Liberty International Airport (22:00), Newark Penn Station (29:00), and Secaucus Junction (38:00) along the way. The cab door is left open until Newark Penn, so enjoy the pneumatic brake sounds, in addition to the ABB AC traction. I'm really going to miss these cars when its time for them to go to the scrapper.

Lenke die Ground Power Unit an die benötigte Position oder stelle die fahrbare Fluggasttreppe bzw. die Jet-Bridge bereit und vieles mehr. Sobald kühle Witterung herrscht, sind deine Fähigkeiten bei der Eis- und Schneebeseitigung gefragt. Hier steht dir beim Airport Simulator 2015 eine ganze Fahrzeugflotte zur Seite.
Sollten die Fahrzeuge dabei an ihre Grenzen stoßen, so kannst du diese in deinem Fahrzeughangar mit verschiedenen Upgrades aufwerten. Successor New Routemaster
The AEC Routemaster is a double-decker bus designed by London Transport and built by the Associated Equipment Company (AEC) and Park Royal Vehicles. The first prototype was completed in September 1954 and the last one was delivered in 1968. The layout of the vehicle was traditional for the time, with a half-cab, front-mounted engine and open rear platform, although the coach version was fitted with rear platform doors. Forward entrance vehicles with platform doors were also produced as was a unique front-entrance prototype with the engine mounted transversely at the rear.
The first Routemasters entered service with London Transport in February 1956 and the last were withdrawn from regular service in December 2005, although one heritage route is still operated by Routemasters in central London.
Most Routemasters were built for London Transport, although small numbers were built for British European Airways and the Northern General Transport Company. A total of 2,876 Routemasters were built with 1,280 still in existence.[1]
A pioneering design, the Routemaster outlasted several of its replacement types in London, survived the privatisation of the former London Transport bus operators and was used by other operators around the UK. In modern UK public transport bus operation, the old-fashioned features of the standard Routemaster were both praised and criticised. The open platform, while exposed to the elements, allowed boarding and alighting in places other than official stops; and the presence of a conductor allowed minimal boarding time and optimal security, but with greater labour costs.
Despite the retirement of the original version, the Routemaster has retained iconic status, and is considered a British cultural icon.[2] In the late 2000s work began on a New Routemaster bus inspired by the Routemaster's traditional design. It entered service in February 2012.
