Pune: 23 April, 2011 Three anchors of an MTV reality show had their faces blackened by activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and were chased out of Pune for using foul language on national television, party officials said here Friday.
"We blackened the faces of MTV Roadies anchors Raghu Ram, Rajeev Lakshman and Ranvijay Singh and told them not to set foot in the cultural city of Pune," said Shailendra Dalvi, Pune secretary of the ABVP (Ibnlive)

The ABVP, the students wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), on Saturday won all four seats as counting ended of the votes cast in the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections. New Delhi, Feb 24 (ANI):The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members on Wednesday held a protest march from Delhi’s Ramlila Ground to Jantar Mantar, demanding stringent actions against the accused in the JNU issue.Scores of students shouted slogans carrying placards and banners.The agitators carried tricolors and placards with messages such as “Afzal ke yaaron ko, Joota maaro saalon ko” and “Youth against anti-national activities”. The other messages read, “India won’t tolerate insult to soldiers”, “I am against anti-national activities” and “Desh ke gaddaron ko joota maaro saalon ko”. -

ABVP condemns Umar Khalid’s speech in JNU
New Delhi, Feb 22 (ANI): Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Monday condemned speech of Jawaharlal Nehru University student Umar Khalid, accused of raising anti-national slogans, saying the students shouting ‘Save JNU’ slogans are the same people supporting Khalid’s speech on Sunday night. An ABVP activist said the speech has again deteriorated the image of JNU, adding that some professors are continuously supporting such students. Another activist demanded that students and teachers indulged in ‘anti-national’ activities should be first punished by the university and then by the judiciary. -

"This is Hooliganism" Says 3 ABVP Leaders resign , Quit, talks against sedition Charges
Three student leaders from the BJP-affiliated student organisation Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad or ABVP's Jawaharlal Nehru University chapter have reportedly resigned from their posts citing the police action on the university's campus on February 11 and Hyderabad University Research Scholar Rohith Vemula's suicide. "Three office bearers of JNU unit of ABVP resign protesting Centre's handling of the row at the university," the news agency Press Trust of India said. A purported letter written jointly by the three student leaders says they decided not to be "the mouthpiece of a government that has unleashed oppression of the student community." The student leaders: Pradeep, Joint Secretary of the ABVP's JNU unit, Rahul Yadav, president of the ABVP's unit in the School of Social Sciences in the University and Ankit Hans, Secretary in the same unit, said in the letter they were "resigning from ABVP and disassociating ourselves from any further activity of ABVP as per our difference of opinion." The letter said, their differences with the ABVP were over, "(the) current JNU incident" and "Long standing difference of opinion with party on MANUSMIRITI and Rohith Vermula incident." The letter said the three did not support the incidents on February 9 in which anti-national slogans are alleged to have been raised on the JNU campus. "Anti-national slogans on February 9 in university campus were very unfortunate and heart breaking. Whosoever responsible for that act must be punished as per the law but the way NDA government tackling the whole issue, the oppression on Professors, repeated lawyer attacks on Media and Kanhaiya Kumar in court premises is unjustifiable and we think there is a difference between interrogation and crushing ideology and branding entire Left as anti-national (sic)." The letter says a "media-trial" has helped fuel an anti-JNU sentiment. 3 ABVP office bearers resign in protest against JNU crackdown
Three members of the JNU's ABVP unit on Wednesday resigned their posts and decided to disassociate themselves from the organization following "difference of opinions" over the recent developments and crackdown at the university. The three members are Pradeep Narwal, joint secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad's Jawaharlal Nehru University unit, Rahul Yadav, president, of its School of Social Sciences unit, and Ankit Hans, secretary, School of Social Sciences unit. Defending Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar, the AAP Monday submitted two video clips that purportedly show the “real culprits behind the unrest in JNU”. According to the AAP, the two clips allegedly show members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) shouting anti-India slogans. Countering the allegations, the ABVP too approached police Monday with a complaint stating that the videos were “morphed” in an attempt to defame the organisation. Senior AAP leaders Ashutosh and Dilip Pandey met Special Commissioner (Law & Order) Deepak Mishra and demanded action against those seen in the video clips. “We are disturbed by the fact that police arrested the JNUSU president without any evidence against him. The two video clips which we are submitting to you cast a very serious doubt on the role of ABVP in the entire incident and it must be thoroughly probed. The varsity witnessed violent clashes between two students groups last night over this programme, following which the police personnel were deployed to maintain the law and order situation on the campus. The incident was followed by the cultural evening organised at the Sabarmati Dhaba by ten students, who were earlier members of the Democratic Students' Union (DSU). The ABVP has also demanded that the ten students behind the event must be rusticated with immediate effect. One of the protestors said they are protesting against the "anti-national" activity on the campus and strict actions should be taken. -

Three student leaders from the BJP-affiliated student organisation Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad or ABVP's Jawaharlal Nehru University chapter have reportedly resigned from their posts citing the police action on the university's campus on February 11 and Hyderabad University Research Scholar Rohith Vemula's suicide.
"Three office bearers of JNU unit of ABVP resign protesting Centre's handling of the row at the university," the news agency Press Trust of India said.
A purported letter written jointly by the three student leaders says they decided not to be "the mouthpiece of a government that has unleashed oppression of the student community."
The student leaders: Pradeep, Joint Secretary of the ABVP's JNU unit, Rahul Yadav, president of the ABVP's unit in the School of Social Sciences in the University and Ankit Hans, Secretary in the same unit, said in the letter they were "resigning from ABVP and disassociating ourselves from any further activity of ABVP as per our difference of opinion."
The letter said, their differences with the ABVP were over, "(the) current JNU incident" and "Long standing difference of opinion with party on MANUSMIRITI and Rohith Vermula incident."
The letter said the three did not support the incidents on February 9 in which anti-national slogans are alleged to have been raised on the JNU campus.
"Anti-national slogans on February 9 in university campus were very unfortunate and heart breaking. Whosoever responsible for that act must be punished as per the law but the way NDA government tackling the whole issue, the oppression on Professors, repeated lawyer attacks on Media and Kanhaiya Kumar in court premises is unjustifiable and we think there is a difference between interrogation and crushing ideology and branding entire Left as anti-national (sic)."
The letter says a "media-trial" has helped fuel an anti-JNU sentiment. "Every day we see people assemble at front gate with Indian Flag to beat JNU students, well this is hooliganism not nationalism, you can't do anything in the name of nation, there is a difference between nationalism and hooliganism (sic)."

Three members of Delhi’s JNU unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) resigned in solidarity with the ongoing students’ protests against Centre’s handling of the row at the university. In a joint statement, the three leaders said have decided to quit ABVP as they have serious differences over the way the NDA government was handling the issue, adding there is a difference between “interrogation and crushing ideology and branding entire Left as anti-national.”they also put their resignation on social media.

Defending Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar, the AAP Monday submitted two video clips that purportedly show the “real culprits behind the unrest in JNU”. According to the AAP, the two clips allegedly show members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) shouting anti-India slogans.
Countering the allegations, the ABVP too approached police Monday with a complaint stating that the videos were “morphed” in an attempt to defame the organisation.
Senior AAP leaders Ashutosh and Dilip Pandey met Special Commissioner (Law & Order) Deepak Mishra and demanded action against those seen in the video clips. “We are disturbed by the fact that police arrested the JNUSU president without any evidence against him. The two video clips which we are submitting to you cast a very serious doubt on the role of ABVP in the entire incident and it must be thoroughly probed. Those seen raising anti-India slogans in these clips must be immediately identified and arrested,” the AAP letter to the police read.
One of the videos shows people allegedly shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’, who AAP claimed were affiliated to the ABVP.

The varsity witnessed violent clashes between two students groups last night over this programme, following which the police personnel were deployed to maintain the law and order situation on the campus. The incident was followed by the cultural evening organised at the Sabarmati Dhaba by ten students, who were earlier members of the Democratic Students' Union (DSU). The ABVP has also demanded that the ten students behind the event must be rusticated with immediate effect. One of the protestors said they are protesting against the "anti-national" activity on the campus and strict actions should be taken.

JNU students union president Kanhaiya Kumar Speech against RSS before arrested || 2016
Kanhaiya Kumar, the president of the JNU students' union, was taken for questioning and then arrested this afternoon. He has been charged with sedition and conspiracy. The arrest came hours after Home Minister Rajnath Singh warned of "stringent action" against the organisers of the event. "Anyone who raises anti-India slogans or tries to put a question mark on nation's unity and integrity will not be spared," the home minister said, adding that he had instructed the police to take strongest possible action. The police searched the JNU campus in South Delhi for more students suspected to be involved in the event. The police swooped down on the prestigious institution as protests raged on campus and near India Gate in the heart of Delhi over the event organized on Tuesday to mark the death anniversary of Afzal Guru. Anti-India slogans were allegedly raised during the event, titled "The country without a post office", in which students organized an exhibition and a protest march. The university claims it cancelled permission for the event, which was allegedly pitched as a cultural function. Vice-Chancellor Jagdeesh Kumar has called it an act of indiscipline. The BJP's student wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) held protests and demanded action against the university and the students behind the Afzal Guru event. Education Minister Smriti Irani also condemned the incident and said: "The nation can never tolerate any insult to mother India." The student's arrest has drawn sharp reactions from opposition parties. Left leader Sitaram Yechury tweeted: What is happening in JNU? Police on campus, arrests and picking up students from hostels. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew and president of Trinamool Congress's youth wing Abhishek Banerjee was yesterday (Jan 4 2014) slapped by a youth at a rally at Chandipur in East Midnapore district, causing an outrage in the party. The youth, wearing a cap, mounted the stage from which Banerjee, an MP, was addressing the gathering and while clicking photos on his cell phone suddenly lunged towards Banerjee and slapped him, taking him off-guard. TMC workers present on the stage caught the outh and beat him up. The BJP criticised the incident of slapping of TMC youth wing president and MP Abhishek Banerjee during a public meeting in East Midnapore district and described it as a result of the party's internal feud. The condition of the youth, identified as Debasis Acharya, a resident of Tamluk, who had slapped Abhishek Banerjee, was stated to be critical after he suffered multiple head injuries. The man, who slapped MamataBanerjee's nephew and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, was today booked for 'attempt to murder', even as police identified him as an active member of ABVP having direct connection with RSS leaders. On the other hand, the police invoked milder charges against those who lynched Debashis Acharya, who was admitted to a state-run hospital in a serious condition. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), meanwhile,denied that the youth who attacked Banerjee was a member of the organisation. What happened in East Midnapore is shameful and outright condemnable. The man who slapped Mamata Banerjee's nephew was wrong. But does he deserve to be charged with attempt to murder? And what justifies letting off the lynch mob which almost beat the attacker to death? -

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) is, the world’s largest students’ organization founded on 9th July 1949 with the aim of national reconstruction working in the field of student activism since its inception towards educational and social reforms. Over journey of six decades ABVP has inspired generations of youngster now leading in every sphere of the society with nation first attitude.

The arrest came hours after Home Minister Rajnath Singh warned of "stringent action" against the organisers of the event. "Anyone who raises anti-India slogans or tries to put a question mark on nation's unity and integrity will not be spared," the home minister said, adding that he had instructed the police to take strongest possible action.
The police searched the JNU campus in South Delhi for more students suspected to be involved in the event.
The police swooped down on the prestigious institution as protests raged on campus and near India Gate in the heart of Delhi over the event organized on Tuesday to mark the death anniversary of Afzal Guru.
Anti-India slogans were allegedly raised during the event, titled "The country without a post office", in which students organized an exhibition and a protest march.
The university claims it cancelled permission for the event, which was allegedly pitched as a cultural function. Vice-Chancellor Jagdeesh Kumar has called it an act of indiscipline.
The BJP's student wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) held protests and demanded action against the university and the students behind the Afzal Guru event.
Education Minister Smriti Irani also condemned the incident and said: "The nation can never tolerate any insult to mother India."
The student's arrest has drawn sharp reactions from opposition parties. Left leader Sitaram Yechury tweeted: What is happening in JNU? Police on campus, arrests and picking up students from hostels. This had last happened during Emergency."
This is not the first time that JNU, one of the country's top academic institutions, has witnessed events in support of Afzal Guru.

Yashvantrao Kelkar Youth award is given in the memory of Professor Yashvantrao kelkar, who is one of the key architects in shaping Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and had over the years contributed immensely towards the development of the strong fundamentals of the organisation.
The award was initiated in the year 1991 and has continued ever since. This is a joint effort by ABVP and Vidyarthi Nidhi Nyas with the objective of imparting education and upliftment of youth in our country. The primary aim of the award is to acknowledge the good work of the social workers and to motivate the students to draw inspiration by inculcating the same principles and values of the leaders and the awardees. This award includes a certificate, a memorabilia and cash prize of Rs.50,000/-

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew and president of Trinamool Congress's youth wing Abhishek Banerjee was yesterday (Jan 4 2014) slapped by a youth at a rally at Chandipur in East Midnapore district, causing an outrage in the party. The youth, wearing a cap, mounted the stage from which Banerjee, an MP, was addressing the gathering and while clicking photos on his cell phone suddenly lunged towards Banerjee and slapped him, taking him off-guard. TMC workers present on the stage caught the outh and beat him up. The BJP criticised the incident of slapping of TMC youth wing president and MP Abhishek Banerjee during a public meeting in East Midnapore district and described it as a result of the party's internal feud. The condition of the youth, identified as Debasis Acharya, a resident of Tamluk, who had slapped Abhishek Banerjee, was stated to be critical after he suffered multiple head injuries. The man, who slapped MamataBanerjee's nephew and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, was today booked for 'attempt to murder', even as police identified him as an active member of ABVP having direct connection with RSS leaders. On the other hand, the police invoked milder charges against those who lynched Debashis Acharya, who was admitted to a state-run hospital in a serious condition. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), meanwhile,denied that the youth who attacked Banerjee was a member of the organisation. What happened in East Midnapore is shameful and outright condemnable. The man who slapped Mamata Banerjee's nephew was wrong. But does he deserve to be charged with attempt to murder? And what justifies letting off the lynch mob which almost beat the attacker to death?

Satish Upadhyay (born 6 March 1962) is the President of the Delhi Unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is also the Councillor from Malviya Nagar (Ward No. 161) in the South Delhi Municipal Council (SDMC).He took over as the President, Delhi BJP in July 2014 after the Lok Sabha elections. Earlier, he also served as the Vice President, Delhi BJP unit and as Secretary, Delhi BJP unit in 2010-12 and 2009-2010 respectively.
Upadhyay joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) during his school days and was a prominent Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) leader in the 1980s. He has also been a Member of Censor Board of Film Certification and TAC, Delhi.

A two-decade-old letter by a Jawaharlal Nehru University professor had then alleged anti-national activities by “agents of Pakistan” on the university campus. The letter, purportedly written to the university’s registrar in February 1996, has now been made public by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) after the arrest of JNU Students’ Union president Kanhaiya Kumar ... The professor now lives in Germany ... ....
