Paul Langton (April 17, 1913, Salt Lake City, Utah - April 15, 1980, Burbank, California) was an American actor perhaps best known for his role as Leslie Harrington on the television series Peyton Place.
Making his movie bow in 1941, Paul Langton became a contract player at MGM, frequently appearing in war films. Later, Langton was seen in character parts or supporting roles in such films as The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957).
Langton began appearing on television in 1951 in a series called The Web; his first regular role being that of Walter Dennis on the daytime series The Brighter Day. He also made five guest appearances on Perry Mason from 1958-1962, three of which were as prosecuting attorneys. But it was the role of Leslie Harrington on the prime time serial Peyton Place (1964–68) that finally gave him a level of stardom. After he was written out of the series, he appeared in half a dozen other programs including It Takes a Thief (1968), Ironside (TV series) and, in his final role, Emergency!, before retiring due to ill health.
The Incredible Shrinking Man is a 1957 American black-and-white science fiction film from Universal-International, produced by Albert Zugsmith, directed by Jack Arnold, and starring Grant Williams and Randy Stuart. The film was adapted for the screen by Richard Matheson from his novel The Shrinking Man. The opening credits music theme (uncredited) is by Irving Gertz, with a trumpet solo performed by Ray Anthony.
The film won the first Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation presented by Solacon, the 16th World Science Fiction Convention in Los Angeles. By happenstance, Richard Matheson was the Guest of Honor that year. The film was named in 2009 to the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant.
Additionally, the cover variant to the third issue of IDW Comics' The Shrinking Man mini-series, adapted from Matheson's novel, includes "Incredible" in the comic's title as a direct reference to the film.
The Snow Creature is a 1954 black-and-white sci-fi monster movie produced and directed by W. Lee Wilder, written by Myles Wilder, and starring Paul Langton and Leslie Denison.
The Snow is a track by the British group Coil, available on the album Love's Secret Domain (1991) and also released as a 12" vinyl, cassette and CD EP. A music video of "The Snow (Answers Come in Dreams II)" was directed by Peter Christopherson.
"The Snow (Driftmix)" and "The Snow (Out In The Cold)" are remixes by Peter Christopherson. The Snow (Answers Come In Dreams I)" and "The Snow (Answers Come In Dreams II)" are remixes by Jack Dangers. "The Snow (As Pure As?)" was remixed by John Balance and Drew McDowall.
The EP was later combined with Windowpane and released as Windowpane & The Snow.
