Plot: Alfred spent years as a patient in a mental institution, surrounded by his past. His routine is interrupted when Aristotle, a young new patient with a murky history, is assigned to share his room. Was Aristotle a conscious decision made by his therapist, or perhaps a symptom of Alfred's own illness. Alfred's fears and his reluctance to share his room offer insights into his own past, as well as the past of his young protege, which somehow seems to echo his own. As they become learn about each other and themselves, it becomes increasingly difficult to discern whether these are two distinct individuals brought together by circumstances, or whether Aristotle is simply a ghost of Alfred's turbid past, come to life as part of his treatment.

Plot: Half-witted longtime friends Albert (Luis Manzano), Isaac (Billy Crawford), Mozart "Mo" (DJ Durano), Michaelangelo "Mike" (Martin Escudero) and Aristotle "Aris" (Marvin Agustin) were used to living moronic yet pretty normal and hassle-free lives until successful career woman Becky Pamintuan (John Lapus) accused them of killing her father and ruin everything for them. The Moron 5 are more than sure of their innocence but for the life of them, they can't find any single satisfactory argument on how to prove it especially when their opponent would do everything to punish them for whim. Spending three miserable years in prison trying different failed comedic attempts to get out, they finally figured a way to escape. They stalked Becky and tried to understand why she's fighting so hard to have them imprisoned when it's clear as day that what happened three years ago was a nonsense frame-up. An opportunity came when Becky's driver got fired for having an affair with her maid and Albert volunteered to apply to replace him. He infiltrated the Pamintuan Residence and together with his four crazily daft friends, they've gathered information about the curious family yet to them, it isn't making any sense at all especially Becky's unexplained hatred to the five of them. Why is Becky fighting so hard to have them suffer? The Moron 5 will try their hardest to know and hopefully understand what's really going on although little did they know that by doing so, everything that they hold dear might be at risk.

Plot: With the assassination of his rowdy and bawdy father King Philip in 336 BC, Alexander gathers up his Home-Boy Macedonians (30,000 or so) and crosses the Hellespont to strike Darius and the Persian Horde. The Persians, of course, torched the Acropolis three generations earlier. The Greeks (and Macedonians) never forgot. During his herculean 12-year odyssey, Alexander succeeds in creating a world empire from the Danube to the Indus. Ever the glorious conqueror, he shows not only military genius, but compassion for the conquered. Alexander's women (aside from his mother Olympias) include his life-long consort, Barsine, who takes him on erotic / chemical "trips". There is also Roxanne, the Bactrian princess / wannabe dancer, his possessive first wife and True Love. His second marriage to Stateira, Darius' clueless daughter, doesn't set well with Roxanne, which starts the tragic time-clock ticking. Roxanne opts into a regime-changing scenario-- orchestrated back in Athens by Demosthenes and Macedonian rivals.

Plot: The globe trotting trip that Henry Jones, Jr. sets out on in the early 1900s next takes him and his family to Russia. A few acts of clumsiness puts Indy at odds with his father who is greatly displeased with Indy. Indy runs away into the Russian countryside and wakes in the morning on a haystack. He encounters an odd, cantankerous old man named Leo Tolstoy, who is in full agreement that "hell" is other people. Both are running away to seek a simpler life. They cross the countryside, encountering colorful Gypsies and avoiding fierce Imperial Cossack troops. The hardships of the journey make Indy homesick, but he won't soon forget his journey with the stubborn old man. Indy's next destination is Greece, where his mother Anna realizes that father and son need to spend more time together. The two bristle at each other's company as they explore the sites of ancient Greece, but Henry finally reaches past Indy's impudence and stubbornness when the topic turns to philosophy and the teachings of Aristotle. A series of misadventures lead them to an isolated monastery perched high on the peak of a mountain. While studying in the library, Indy meets Nikos Kazantzakis, the writer who would some day write Zorba the Greek. Lessons on causality come in handy on the harrowing trip in a tiny cage reeled up a thousand-foot mountainside.

Anna Jones: Your father will deal with you in the morning.::Indiana Jones: What's he gonna do?::Anna Jones: Have you shot in the morning. I will provide the blindfold.
Leo Tolstoy: You reeking little swine, how dare you shoot me in the ass!::Indiana Jones: I thought you were a giant weazle.::Leo Tolstoy: Do I look like a giant weazle? Is it my twitching snout? My long, hairless tail? Are all little English boys as stupid as you?::Indiana Jones: I'm not English, I'm American.::Leo Tolstoy: That explains it.
Indiana Jones: You have dogs? So do I. One I mean, her name's Indiana. I haven't seen her in over a year, though. 'Cause we've been traveling so much.::Leo Tolstoy: You miss her?::Indiana Jones: Yeah, you bet I do. Can't wait to see her when we get home. Wonder if she'll still remember me.::Leo Tolstoy: Of course she will. Dogs are better than people.
Leo Tolstoy: How dare you make me feel guilty!
Indiana Jones: Hey, they were calling you Tolstoy. I think my father has some of your books. Didn't you write that eh, that really big fat one about war?::Leo Tolstoy: And peace.::Indiana Jones: No kiddin'. My father thinks you're great!::Leo Tolstoy: Your dad's an imbicile.::Indiana Jones: He's usually not wrong about this stuff. You should ask him.
Leo Tolstoy: Do not try to see God through spectacles borrowed from the church. See God through your own eyes.
Indiana Jones: Father, I don't think that he understand your ancient Greek.::Prof. Henry Jones, Sr.: Well he should have understood it.
Indiana Jones: Father, I really doubt if a bus is even gonna come and if it does, there's probably only one a day and, and it's probably already gone!::Prof. Henry Jones, Sr.: Junior, you are now being cynical.::Indiana Jones: [beneath his breath] Yes sir.::Prof. Henry Jones, Sr.: See, after skepticism comes cynicism.
Indiana Jones: [Indy and his father are splashing around in a lake] I didn't even know you could swim.::Prof. Henry Jones, Sr.: There's a lot you don't know about me, Junior. [splashes water at his son] When I was five years old, I used to go swimming in a loch. Now that was cold!

Woody Harrelson ETHOS Time To Unslave Humanity - Top Documentary Films. Hosted by twice Oscar nominated actor and activist Woody Harrelson, Ethos lifts the lid on a Pandora’s box of systemic issues that guarantee failure in almost every aspect of our lives; from the environment to democracy and our own personal liberty: From terrifying conflicts of interests in politics to unregulated corporate power, to a media in the hands of massive conglomerates, and a military industrial complex that virtually owns our representatives. Woody Harrelson ETHOS Time To Unslave Humanity - Top Documentary Films.

With interviews from some of today’s leading thinkers and source material from the finest documentary film makers of our times Ethos examines and unravels these complex relationships, and offers a solution, a simple but powerful way for you to change this system.Ethos is a 2011 documentary film directed and written by Pete McGrain and hosted by Woody Harrelson. The main point of the film is to encourage people to engage in ethical consumerism. Woody Harrelson ETHOS Time To Unslave Humanity - Top Documentary Films.
Ethos is a Greek word meaning "character" that is used to describe the guiding beliefs or ideals that characterize a community, nation, or ideology. The Greeks also used this word to refer to the power of music to influence its hearer's emotions, behaviours, and even morals. Early Greek stories of Orpheus exhibit this idea in a compelling way. The word's use in rhetoric is closely based on the Greek terminology used by Aristotle in his concept of the three artistic proofs. Woody Harrelson ETHOS Time To Unslave Humanity - Top Documentary Films.
Woodrow Tracy "Woody" Harrelson (born July 23, 1961) is an American actor and activist. His breakout role came in the television sitcom Cheers as bartender Woody Boyd in 1985. Some notable film characters include basketball hustler Billy Hoyle in White Men Can't Jump, one-handed bowler Roy Munson in Kingpin, serial killer Mickey Knox in Natural Born Killers, magazine publisher Larry Flynt in The People vs. Larry Flynt, and country singer Dusty in A Prairie Home Companion. For The People vs. Larry Flynt and The Messenger, Harrelson earned Academy Award nominations for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, respectively. In 2014, he starred in the HBO crime drama True Detective with Matthew McConaughey. Woody Harrelson ETHOS Time To Unslave Humanity - Top Documentary Films.
Harrelson is a supporter of the 9/11 Truth movement and has supported reopening an investigation into the September 11 attacks. Along with other "truthers", including Martin Sheen and Ed Asner, he will be appearing in a movie, September Morn, that will promote such views. Harrelson identifies as an anarchist. CONSTITUTIONAL REVOLUTION - Don't Tread On Me // Top Documentary Films. A revolution is a fundamental change in power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time. Aristotle described two types of political revolution:
- Complete change from one constitution to another
- Modification of an existing constitution.
www.russellbrandtrews.com
Revolutions have occurred through human history and vary widely in terms of methods, duration, and motivating ideology. Their results include major changes in culture, economy, and socio-political institutions.
A constitution is a set of fundamental principles or established precedents according to which a state or other organization is governed. These rules together make up, i.e. constitute, what the entity is. When these principles are written down into a single document or set of legal documents, those documents may be said to embody a written constitution; if they are written down in a single comprehensive document, it is said to embody a codified constitution.
Constitutions concern different levels of organizations, from sovereign states to companies and unincorporated associations. A treaty which establishes an international organization is also its constitution, in that it would define how that organization is constituted. Within states, a constitution defines the principles upon which the state is based, the procedure in which laws are made and by whom. Some constitutions, especially codified constitutions, also act as limiters of state power, by establishing lines which a state's rulers cannot cross, such as fundamental rights. An example is the constitution of the United States of America.

Tom Richey provides students with an introduction to Greek philosophy, contrasting Plato's idealism with Aristotle's realism and comparing the basic premise of Plato's Republic with Aristotle's Politics.
In Raphael's painting, The School of Athens, Plato and Aristotle walk side by side at the center, with Plato pointing up to signify his idealism and Aristotle pointing down to signify his belief in philosophical realism. This is a starting point for understanding the key differences between Plato and Aristotle.

Our discussion of Aristotle turns now to his metaphysics, that is, his understanding of the nature of reality, of essence. Aristotle is well-known for a series of distinctions that he made, involving terms like substance and accidents, form and matter, etc. We will explore the meaning of these terms in this lecture.
Aristotle's attempt to make the kinds of distinctions found here are an important reason for his significance as a scientist. He was always on a quest to bring clarity by differentiating various aspects of the subject matter under discussion. The distinctions described in this lesson have been especially important in the history of Christian thought, as is mentioned in the lecture.
Aristotle's labor in refining the Greek language through his philosophical distinctions was also very important in preparing the way for the Gospel message, which made heavy use of the Greek capacity for subtlety, and we can be grateful for the contribution of this great thinker for that reason as well!

In this video, Monte Johnson (University of California, San Diego) explores an approach to the question “What is the purpose of life?” developed by the Greek Philosopher Aristotle (384-322 BC). Aristotle reasoned that just as artificial things (such as tools and workers) have characteristic capabilities with respect to which they are judged to be good or do well, so each kind of natural thing (including plants and humans) has characteristic capabilities with respect to which can be judged, objectively, to be good or do well. For plants and animals these mostly have to do with nutrition and reproduction, and in the case of animals, pleasure and pain. For humans, these vegetative and animal capabilities are necessary but not sufficient for our flourishing. Since reason and the use of language are the unique and highest capabilities of humans, the cultivation and exercise of intellectual friendships and partnerships, moral and political virtue, scientific knowledge and (above all) theoretical philosophy, was argued by Aristotle to be the ultimate purpose of human life.

In this program, the far-reaching philosophical ideas of Plato's star pupil are examined by noted Brown University professor Martha Nussbaum. Aristotle overcomes Plato's dualism of the intelligible and sensible worlds with his principle of inseparable nature of eternal matter and form. The principles of potentiality and actuality are examined, along with Aristotle's theory of the four causes—material, formal, efficient, and final—which account for changes in all things. These theories of constancy and change are credited with the progress of scientific inquiry over the ages.

You mean to tell me nobody ever actually checked Aristotle's work? We know he was wrong with ships going over the horizon. He know he was wrong with an earth shadow turning red on the moon, and we also NOW know, he was wrong with constellations disappearing from Egypt to Greece. I prove here that NO constellations disappear between the two places. Moronic comments got me to looking at this- thanks you morons!
Because I stated it might be 75 miles from Greece to Cyprus (it is actually only 45 miles difference North to South apparently) people jumped on the bandwagon measuring the distance between the two without realizing that an east to west difference means nothing. It is only the north south difference that is important as East and West take care of themselves as the earth supposedly turns on its axis. So, Alexander either lied about constellations disappearing or he failed to factor in the travel time difference in the time period he lived. If that was the case, he was simply a slow thinker. [This is why I often go on-and-on because every time I don't explain every little thing, this happens] I should have taken the time to state that North and south are all that is important here. As it turns out 45 miles is pretty much the only north-South difference from Greece to Cyprus NORTH TO SOUTH - the only part that matters!!!!!!]

Aristotle overcomes Plato's dualism of the intelligible and sensible worlds with his principle of inseparable nature of eternal matter and form. Aristotle Onassis
Aristotle Socrates Onassis (Greek: Αριστοτέλης Ωνάσης, Aristotelis Onasis; 15 January 1906 -- 15 March 1975), commonly called Ari or Aristo Onassis, was a prominent Greek shipping magnate.
Onassis was born in Karatass, a suburb of Smyrna (now İzmir, Turkey) to Socrates and Penelope Onassis (née Dologu), who married Socrates at the age of 17. Onassis had one full-sister, Artemis, and two half-sisters, Kalliroi and Merope, by his father's second marriage following Penelope's death at the age of 33. Socrates Onassis came from the village of Moutalasski (now named Talas), near Cappadocia in Asia Minor, which is the present-day Kayseri province, in central Turkey. In 1923, Aristotle Onassis left for Buenos Aires, Argentina, by Nansen passport and got his first job with the British United River Plate Telephone Company.
He was one of the world's richest men, but it was the glamour of the women in his life, such as Maria Callas and Jackie Kennedy, which brought him real fame.
Onassis's childhood was dominated by the principles of the Orthodox Church. Unsurprisingly, this upbringing influenced him throughout his life.
While not an openly religious man, Onassis retained many of the qualities imparted to him through the church.
He left Smyrna in 1922, travelling to Argentina, where he revived the family tobacco business by building a new market for the product there. In a few years the business flourished and Onassis had made his first million.
The tobacco business was too limited for a man of Onassis' dreams and, in the early 1930s, he purchased his first ships.
It took him only a few days to expand his fleet and, by the end of the decade, he had entered the tanker business, which was potentially far more profitable.
In 1946, Onassis married Tina Livanos, the daughter of Stavros Livanos, an important Greek shipowner. Tina had American citizenship and they set up home in New York.
Later, Onassis became brother-in-law to Stavros Niarchos, another shipowner and with that, the three men, Onassis, Livanos and Niarchos, formed the most powerful shipping group in the world. Rivalry would later develop, but it remained a powerful force.
In 1957, Onassis turned his attention skywards and took over the failing Greek National Airline, making it into a private business, Olympic Airways of Greece.
Onassis divorced his wife in 1961. He had a long relationship with the singer, Maria Callas, but in 1968 married the most famous woman in the world at that time, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, the widow of President John F. Kennedy.
Tragedy struck in 1973, when Alexander Onassis, Onassis's son from his first marriage, died in a plane accident. Onassis was devastated. Not long after, on 15 March, 1975, Onassis died. He was buried on his island near his son Alexander.
