OPD Physical Ability Test (Informational Video)
Thank you for your interest with the
Omaha Police Department and we want to offer encouragement throughout the testing process and in your steps to becoming an
Omaha Police Officer.
Policing is hard work, both mentally and physically. During the testing process, you must pass the physical ability test (
PAT), which involves a series of 12 job specific tasks that simulate the rigorous duties one would be expected to perform as a Police Officer. The test was developed by the
City of Omaha and
I/O Solutions to identify critical physical tasks that simulate actual job duties.
The events in the PAT include:

• Run up & down stairs

Drop chest to the floor
• Climb over a wall
• Climb over a fence
