Prime Minister's Question Time
Question Time in the House of Commons is an opportunity for MPs to question government ministers about matters for which they are responsible.
Prime Minister's Question Time, also referred to as PMQs, takes place every Wednesday that the House of Commons is sitting and gives MPs the chance to put questions to the Prime Minister.
In most cases, the session starts with a routine 'open question' from an MP about the Prime Minister's engagements. MPs can then ask supplementary questions on any subject, often one of current political significance.
Opposition MPs follow up on this or another topic, usually led by the Leader of the Opposition, Jeremy Corbyn. Usually, he is the only MP allowed to come back with further questions.

Delhi Police chief B S Bassi, under fire for alleged mishandling JNU row, was on Friday (February 19) dropped from the list for the post of Information Commissioner in Central Information Commission by a selection panel led by the Prime Minister which has cleared three names. The decision to drop Bassi was taken amidst mounting pressure from Congress along with other opposition parties and civil society activists citing alleged inaction of Delhi Police as violent mob had beaten up journalists, teachers and students inside Patiala House Court complex during the hearing of JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar's case, official sources said. Meeting the six-week deadline set by Delhi High Court to fill vacancies in the transparency watchdog, the panel met here this morning in which various names were discussed. The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Mallikarjuna Kharge at the Prime Minister's South Block office here. Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh also attended the meeting as a special invitee. Sources said Kharge was against Bassi's candidature, a stand made already clear by some of his party leaders. A 1977-batch IPS officer, Bassi, who is due to retire this month-end, was one of the applicants for the post of Information Commissioner. His name was shortlisted last November by a search committee headed by Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha. There is a vacancy of three Information Commissioners against its total strength of 10. The names of candidates for all three vacancies were decided at today's meeting, they said.

He congratulated the winners and also thanked all stakeholders in ensuring that the tourism industry continued to grow.
"Tourism is a key engine of our economy, and it grows in importance each year. And when I say that, I am not just talking about money. World tourism is a very competitive industry, and tourism has raised standards throughout Fiji," he said.
"It has made us a more sophisticated country because we have set out to attract discerning consumers—travellers who have limited time to spend on vacation, who work hard all year, and who look for the best in accommodations, cuisine, shopping, natural beauty and adventure. And we are giving them more than they expect."

SOT, David Cameron, UK Prime Minister (English): "Well I was here till five o' clock this morning in working through this and we made some progress but there is still no deal and as I have said I will only do a deal if we get what Britain needs, so we are going to get back in there, we are going to do some more work and I will do everything I can."
SOT, Francois Hollande, French President (French): "We will continue working this morning, because last night we had some proposals that were modified by some of us about what concerns France and the will to set up financial regulations for the entire EU without a veto right or impediment so that we can fight against speculation, against the financial crisis everywhere in the same way and with the same organisations."

Prime Minister Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama today commissioned the rural electrification project at Loqi settlement.
The settlement consists of mainly sugarcane farmers located a few kilometers outside Nadi can now access a window of opportunities.
"It is the duty of my Government to make sure you see the full benefit of the success you’ve helped create. It is the duty of my Government to bring developments that will
make you more productive and that will give you, and your children, a better shot at life," he said.
"This new electrification project will do exactly that. It has been completed at a cost of $83,000 and will provide stable, reliable electricity to nine families in the Loqi Settlement. These families will now have access to power 24 hours a day, seven days a week and enjoy the many advantages that electric power can bring."
The Head of Government said gone were the days that the children of Loqi studied at sunset --- "now they will have the light they need to keep up with their schoolwork late into the evening.'
"The burden of labour can also now be lifted by modern electrical equipment that can assist with the many tasks that you must complete for your home, your work and your community," Hon. Bainimarama said.
"And no longer will your homes be dark in the evening, they will now be brighter, safer and more welcoming than ever before."

make you more productive and that will give you, and your children, a better shot at life," he said.

Opposition MPs follow up on this or another topic, usually led by the Leader of the Opposition, Harriet Harman. Usually, she is the only MP allowed to come back with further questions.
