How would you feel if you had been living in a foreign country for 15 years, worked among that county's people, spoke their language, had interpersonal relationships with some of those people yet everyday you were treated like a child and looked at like a fresh-off-the-boat "gaijin" (foreigner). It's not one specific incident that hurts you but more like death buy a thousand paper cuts.
Well, I already understand that this is the way a majority of the people here are going to treat me and experience by experience I become better equipped at dealing with these situations. I have no problem now confronting these kinds of people on their bullsh!t. Yes, you may think it's harsh, but I think it's helpful. Sometimes people need a shocking experience to realize what they're doing.
As a final disclaimer I have to say that I do not put all Japanese people in this category. I judge everyone individually. There are some fantastic Japanese people who will treat you like an equal human being.

Second-class citizen
A second-class citizen is a person who is systematically discriminated against within a state or other political jurisdiction, despite their nominal status as a citizen or legal resident there.
