The Mariana Trench or Marianas Trench is the deepest part of the world's oceans. It is located in the western Pacific Ocean, to the east of the Mariana Islands. The trench is about 2,550 kilometres (1,580 mi) long but has an average width of only 69 kilometres (43 mi). It reaches a maximum-known depth of 10,994 m (± 40 m) or 6.831 mi (36,070 ± 131 ft) at the Challenger Deep, a small slot-shaped valley in its floor, at its southern end, although some unrepeated measurements place the deepest portion at 11.03 kilometres (6.85 mi).
At the bottom of the trench the water column above exerts a pressure of 1,086 bars (15,750 psi), over 1000 times the standard atmospheric pressure at sea level. At this pressure the density of water is increased by 4.96%, making 95 litres of water under the pressure of the Challenger Deep contain the same mass as 100 litres at the surface. The temperature at the bottom is 1 to 4 °C.
The trench is not the part of the seafloor closest to the center of the Earth. This is because the Earth is not a perfect sphere; its radius is about 25 kilometres (16 mi) less at the poles than at the equator. As a result, parts of the Arctic Ocean seabed are at least 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) closer to the Earth's center than the Challenger Deep seafloor.
Xenophyophores have been found in the trench by Scripps Institution of Oceanography researchers at a record depth of 10.6 km (6.6 mi) below the sea surface. On 17 March 2013, researchers reported data that suggested microbial life forms thrive within the trench.

Take a look at all the trains running along the Pacific Ocean as we travel north up the California coast from San Diego to San Francisco. We will look at just about every rail line that runs along the mighty Pacific in California. First, you will visit the famed "Surf Line" as it runs along coastal bluffs and sandy beaches between San Diego and Los Angeles. Next, travel to San Pedro where the waterfront Red Car runs along the water's edge carrying tourists. North of Los Angeles, we meet up with our next major rail line, known as the "Coast Line", which we follow along the coast between Ventura and Lompoc. After that, we take a brief stop in Santa Cruz to see the beach train before concluding our journey in San Francisco with the Powell and Hyde Street Cable Car line running up Russian Hill with views of San Francisco Bay in the background.

A flash of lightning followed by a mysterious red glow coming from underneath the Pacific Ocean has just been discovered...
Dutch pilot JPG van Heijst and crew were flying from Hong Kong to Alaska when they reported seeing an intense, directly vertical, flash of lightning over the ocean.
After this event, a mysterious red glow, as you can see in his pictures, began eminatting from beneath the pacific ocean.
The closer they got, the greater the intensity of the light became....illuminating the clouds and everything around it.
One theory is that the underwater glowing lights were caused by underwater volcanos erupting and possibly forming a new island, but then why was there a flash of light, directed upward right before the event began in the same spot?
That doesn't make sense....
Van Heijt and co-pilot said they felt quote "everything but comfortable."

A mysterious red & orange glow with lights over the Pacific Ocean has left pilots bewildered.

The Pacific Ocean is the largest of the Earth's oceanic divisions. It extends from the Arctic Ocean in the north to the Southern Ocean (or, depending on definition, to Antarctica) in the south and is bounded by Asia and Australia in the west and the Americas in the east.
At 165.25 million square kilometers (63.8 million square miles) in area, this largest division of the World Ocean – and, in turn, the hydrosphere – covers about 46% of the Earth's water surface and about one-third of its total surface area, making it larger than all of the Earth's land area combined.[1] The equator subdivides it into the North Pacific Ocean and South Pacific Ocean, with two exceptions: the Galápagos and Gilbert Islands, while straddling the equator, are deemed wholly within the South Pacific.[2] The Mariana Trench in the western North Pacific is the deepest point in the world, reaching a depth of 10,911 metres (35,797 ft).[3]
The eastern Pacific Ocean was first sighted by Europeans in the early 16th century when Spanish explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa crossed the Isthmus of Panama in 1513 and discovered the great "southern sea" which he named Mar del Sur. The ocean's current name was coined by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan during the Spanish circumnavigation of the world in 1521, as he encountered favourable winds on reaching the ocean. He therefore called it Mar Pacifico in Portuguese, meaning "peaceful sea"

Panama Destination Guide
Bordered by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, Panama's key location between North and South America makes it one of the world's fastest growing tourism destinations. Offering green mountains, lush rainforests, pristine beaches and untouched islands, Panama is ideal for an outdoor adventure. But if you are a city person, don't worry, its urban cityscapes rival the world's biggest metropolises.
Visit the country known as the 'Crossroads of the Americas' on Panama holidays and prepare yourself for an amazing trip. Choosing Panama tours is never easy, as the country is home to countless attractions and diverse natural beauty. Luckily for visitors, the country is small enough to see a little bit of everything. A good Panama travel guide will be able to recommend a great route exploring everything from the bustling capital and its historic monuments to the gorgeous beaches, mountains and jungles of the Panamanian countryside. With frequent flights to Panama from airports around the world, there is no excuse to put off seeing this incredible destination any longer.
To truly understand Panama, you must know something of its history. Once a Spanish colony, traces of its past are prevalent in many of its modern cities, especially in their old town sections. It was only after declaring independence from present-day Colombia in 1903 that Panama became an independent country and one of the first things the state did was build the Panama Canal. The 77-kilometre canal connecting the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean quickly became a vital world trade route and helped put Panama on the map. Today it is a sight to behold, best appreciated from above -- although walking across it is also possible.
The Pacific entrance to the canal is located in Panama City, the capital of Panama and an important international city. A 2003 Capital of American Culture, Panama City offers multiple UNESCO World Heritage Sites and many more notable monuments. Old Panama is where the Spanish city once stood and today it offers a glimpse of the past with its impressive colonial architecture. The Old Town of Panama is home to the city's most important monuments, among them the National Theatre and Las Bovedas, a gorgeous waterfront promenade.
Panama is much more than the sum of its important canal and capital and heading off the beaten path is highly recommended. Grab your boots and go hiking in one of the country's many national parks, or trek the Quetzal Trail for a real adventure trying to spot the elusive Quetzal bird. If you are even more of a thrillseeker there are many companies offering adventure activities like zip line canopy rides, horseback riding, white water rafting and rock climbing. For a truly unforgettable experience you should check out the Coiba National Marine Park, known as 'the Galapagos of Central America,' offering a unique look at rare species on both water and land. Consider scuba diving or snorkelling for an even closer peek and then head to any of the local restaurants for some mouthwatering Panamanian seafood.
Boasting world class cities and natural wonders alike, in Panama you can truly experience it all.

The Hawaiian Islands are located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and form the 50th state of the USA. In the south east of the island of O’Ahu, Honolulu is a modern town and the starting point for most journeys. It also contains the Iolani Palace - once the residence of King David Kalakana -a magnificent Victorian structure in the centre of Honolulu and the only royal palace in the United States. In Pearl Harbour, a museum commemorates the events of the seventh of December 1941 when most of the American Pacific fleet was destroyed by the Japanese. The valley of Nuuanu Pali is of great importance in Hawaiian history. It was here that a deciding battle took place, when King Kamehameh came from Maui and triumphantly drove the troops of the chief of Oahu into the mountains, the result of which formed the political union of the Hawaiian Islands. In winter, the world’s best surfers collect on Sunset Beach, attracted by spectacular waves, some of which reach as high as the tallest church steeples. On the island of Kaua’i, the Wailua is Hawaii’s only navigable river and it flows through some of the exciting locations which were used for Jurassic Park, Raiders Of The Lost Ark and Blue Hawaii. Two volcanoes dominate the extraordinary island of Maui, which also features sandy beaches, green pastures, dense jungle and a bleak lunar-like landscape. On Waimea Beach in 1778, the English sea captain, James Cook, was the first European to set foot on Hawaiian territory. The Waimea Canyon was referred to by Mark Twain as ‘The Grand Canyon of the Pacific’, a massive gorge which has been carved out of the volcanic landscape by the Waimea River. From a Victorian style station there is the narrow-gauge Sugar Cane Train which travels through the once prolific sugar plantations of Kaanapali. Haleakale is the world’s largest dormant volcano with a crater as large as Manhattan. Travel video about destination Hawaii.
But nowhere else in the world can volcanoes be studied as safely as on Big Island in the Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park The Hawaiian Islands…priceless pearls in the Pacific Ocean.

Costa Rica is a small country in Central America bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the south, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and the Caribbean Sea to the east.
See in Costa Rica
================
Wildlife - Costa Rica is world famous for having an incredibly high level of biodiversity throughout its tropical forests (this covers what you may hear referred to as rain forests, cloud forests, and dry forests). There are tropical mammals such as monkeys, sloths, tapirs, and wild cats as well as an amazing assortment of insects and other animals. There are many many birds (both migratory and resident) - more on that below. With 25% of the country being national parks and protected areas, there are still many places you can go to see the abundant wildlife and lush vegetation of the country. Just like anywhere, the farther you get off the beaten path, the more likely you are to see a wide variety of flora and fauna.
========
Bird Watching - One of the most wonderful activities for people who love nature is bird watching. You can enjoy bird watching in many areas of Costa Rica. Due to the great diversity of climates, temperatures and forest types in Costa Rica, there is a wonderful variety of birds, with over 800 species. Some helpful books available on bird watching are Birds of Costa Rica by F. Gary Stiles and Alexander Skutch (Cornell University Press) or An Illustrated Field Guide to Birds of Costa Rica, illustrated by Victor Esquivel Soto. These books can be found at certain bookstores in San José or before coming to Costa Rica. They are both heavy books; many people tear out the plates of the Stiles & Skutch book to carry into the field and leave the rest of the book in their car or room. Plastic cards with the most common birds are available for many areas and are sold at gift shops.
Volcanoes -Costa Rica is one of the most seismologicly active countries in the western hemisphere, and as a result several volcanoes have sprouted over the years- most notably volcanoes Poas, Irazu, and Arenal.
Beaches in Costa Rica
============
Costa Rica is a country with an extraordinary wealth of things to do, but regardless of your travel interests, you're going to want to spend time at one of the country's great beaches. The lion's share of beach tourism is concentrated on the Pacific side, in the Central Pacific region near San José, the Nicoya Peninsula, and in the dry tropical forests of Guanacaste. Less touristed, but no less beautiful are the beaches in the tropical rainforest of the southern Pacific coast near Corcovado National Park, or on the exotic, rastafarian, eco-tourism paradise of the Caribbean side.
Fishing
========
Costa Rica has some of the best Sport Fishing in the world and is the first country to practice catch and release fishing. The Pacific side has incredible fishing for Sailfish, Marlin, Dorado, Tuna, Wahoo, Roosterfish, Snapper, Grouper and more. The Caribbean side is famous for big Tarpon and big Snook. Over sixty-four world records have been caught in Costa Rica. Half day, Full day and Multi-Day Trips are available.

Colombia Destination Guide
Bound by both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, the equatorial South American country of Colombia has had a turbulent recent history with its natural beauty and archaeological sites overshadowed by the prevalence of violence stemming from cocaine trafficking and civil conflict. The diverse landscape offers a variety of climates and experiences ranging from Amazon jungles to sun-soaked beaches and modern cities to ancient ruins.
While some areas of Colombia are still considered too dangerous for tourists to venture to, if you stick to the urban cities such as Bogota and Medellin and provincial capitals, while taking precautions and adhering to common sense, the country is relatively safe. If in doubt, be sure to check the current government warnings for any developments.
Warnings aside, there's much to enjoy in the country that brought salsa, cumbia, Shakira and Gabriel Garcia Marquez to the world. The terrain itself traverses coastal beaches, the alpine Andes, central highlands and flat plains. The Spanish-speaking country became independent from Spain in the 1800s and this colonial legacy can be seen in the well-preserved architecture of Cartagena and Villa de Leyva. Visiting pre-Columbian ruins in Ciudad Perdida (Lost City) brings to mind swashbuckling scenes from an Indiana Jones movie -- machete optional!
Colombia is also blessed with abundant natural attributes from the snow-capped peaks and glacial lakes of Parque Nacional de Cocuy to the sandy stretches of beach and deep bays of Parque Nacional Tayrona on the Caribbean coast. Adrenalin junkies not sated by the three-day hike to Ciudad Perdida can enjoy heart-pumping action in San Gil -- the adventure capital of Colombia - with rafting, abseiling and rock climbing among the activities on offer.
To savour the true essence of Colombia, sample the local cuisine and abundance of tropical fruits. Empanadas are a popular dish of meat and potatoes wrapped in a pastry pouch. With coffee and sugar plantations a major part of the country's primary industries, Colombians are unsurprisingly renowned for having a sweet tooth. Locals like to indulge in desserts such as the milk-based arequipe, and drink their coffee black.
Each South American country has its own regional music and dance style and for Colombia that's salsa and cumbia. For a taste of Columbia's renowned nightlife, head to Bogota or Cali, known as the salsa capital of South America. Don't be intimidated by the tricky step changes, locals are more than happy to teach you. For a Latin American destination with a difference, Colombia has all the moves.

Sydney is the state capital of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia. Sydney's urban area is in a coastal basin, which is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Blue Mountains to the west, the Hawkesbury River to the north and the Royal National Park to the south.
The most important places to visit in Sydney are: Sydney Opera House (among the world's most recognized landmarks. Set on the Sydney harbor, it is an unforgettable sight), Sydney Harbor Bridge (simply called "the bridge" by locals, courageous ones can even climb up the bridge), Bronte Beach (lesser known than Bondi, it is a beautiful beach, popular amongst families), Blue Mountains (an unspoiled mountain range filled with Eucalyptus trees. It is located 30 miles from Sydney, and there are plenty of hiking trails), Bondi Beach (Sydney's most famous beach, its lively promenade is as exciting as the beach) and many more.

In this travel video guide to Maui, Hawaii, I travel to Maui and start off by heading to Haleakalā National Park to watch the sunrise from the highest volcano in Maui. On this part of the island, clouds form at the base of the volcano, and as the sun rises, a myriad of colors form and provide an unforgettable visual experience.
Next I throw on a wet suit and hit the waves to learn how to surf -- my first time ever. Though I've ridden the New York City subway after happy hour before, I was still a little unsure about how my balance would be on a surfboard. Luckily, the surf instructor had a black labrador dog out on her board with us in case anything went terribly wrong.
Finally, I wrap up the day by heading to the beach with a ukulele to have a jam session with a local Maui resident and ukulele player, where we jam out to some Bob Marley as the sun set over the Pacific Ocean, framed by the nearby islands of Moloka'i and Lana'i.
I then travel to Paia, the small, laid-back beach town on the northern coast of Maui, to track down the famed breakfast dish called the Loco Moco (rice, brown gravy and a hamburger patty topped with a fried egg).
Next I head north on the Hana Highway and take a hike into the lush forest to take a dip at Twin Falls, a small water hole in the middle of the forest fed by two island waterfalls. If this isn't classic Hawaii, then I don't know what is.
After picking up my friends at the airport, we jump onto a helicopter(!) to take an aerial tour of Maui and nearby Moloka'i. From this vantage point we visit dramatic sea cliffs up close and explore the interior portions of the islands -- places that few people ever see.
I started off my third day there by heading back up the side of Haleakala Volcano, then lunging my body of the side of the hillside (okay, I was paragliding). As I floated thousands of feet above ground, I was given a unique viewpoint of the island, and even lived to tell about it (and make this video).
Next I head out onto the open water on a sailing outrigger canoe (a canoe with a lateral support on its side in traditional Polynesian fashion), and take to the water to go snorkeling, which included a couple sea turtle sightings.
I then finish up the day with fish tacos at Coconut's (which, to this day, are probably some of the best fish tacos I've ever had), and shave ice for dessert, the classic Hawaii dessert consisting of shaved ice inundated with flavored syrups.
I decide to get a little high culture in and head to Ulupalakua Winery and Ranch, where I sample some pineapple wine (what else?), then head across the street to the Western-themed country store for elk burgers for lunch.
Then I pick up my friends and head north to Honolua Bay to hike in the nearby forest (and maybe get lost a bit), then visit a hillside that overlooks Honolua Bay, where you can park your car and watch some of the best surfers in the world who come here to surf one of the world's best surfing spots.
Finally, I travel to the Surfing Goat Dairy Farm, Maui's premiere (and only goat farm), where I am put to work feeding and milking the goats, and rewarded with an artisanal goat cheese tasting.
Then, with my trip coming to a close, I head to the nondescript restaurant Da Kitchen, one of the best places to try out classic Hawaiian cuisine, including Kahlua Pork, Teriyaki Chicken and of course, Spam.
Finally, I wrap up by providing my thoughts about the island. Be forewarned, sentimentality and reflection ensue.

Halifax is situated in a deep, well-defined bay on the Atlantic coastline and has one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the world.Ville De Quebec is the capital of the likewise-named province of Canada. In this European-orientated city on the St. Laurence river, French is the main language. In 1608, Samuel De Champlain established it as a centre for the fur trade. The massive and world famous Chateau Frontenac is the city’s best known landmark. In Montreal, Canada’s second largest city, the massive Basilica, the Oratoire Saint-Joseph, is an important pilgrimage destination and in the charming French-style area of the city which is located between the harbour and the modern banking quarter, numerous old buildings have been restored. Although Montreal is located 1600 kilometres from the open sea, it owes its wealth to its waterways which stretch from the country’s interior, to the ocean. In Native American, Toronto means, ‘Meeting Place’ an accurate description for the capital of Ontario Province and Canada’s largest city, a multi-cultural city with giant skyscrapers and noisy streets. The CN Tower is the tallest free-standing building in the world and in less than a minute its lift ascends 335 metres to the top. Niagara Falls lies between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario on the Canadian-American border. A trip on the ‘Maid Of The Mist’ is a magnificent experience where the tremendous power of the water is awesome. Three times a week, the Canadian, with its 30 wagons, 2 locomotives and total length of more than a kilometre, winds its way through the Rocky Mountains the water from which accumulates from mountain glaciers and flows into three oceans: the Atlantic, the Pacific and the Arctic. The capital of the south west province of British Columbia, Vancouver, is located beside the Pacific Ocean and is the third largest city in Canada and one of the most beautiful on the North American continent. A fitting final destination for a tour of Canada’s wonderworld of magnificent contrasts.

Travel video about destination Galapagos.
Intriguing and mysterious the islands of the Galapagos archipelago rise up from the Pacific Ocean. Around one thousand kilometres off the South American continent the extensive group of nineteen volcanic islands have an almost primeval appearance. These islands derived their name from the Spanish word for 'turtle'. For many centuries the giant turtles were considered to be a culinary delicacy and a total of fourteen sub-species of giant turtle inhabit the islands, some of which have been known to live for more than a hundred and fifty years. Even today ocean biologists and an assortment of other scientists follow in the footsteps of Charles Darwin and in the 1960's a research station on one of the islands was named in his honour. With the introduction of non-indigenous dogs, cats and rats, the ecological balance on some of the islands has become critical, however, since 1959 the Galapagos Islands have been designated as a protected area.

The “Big Island” of Hawaii is the largest of the Hawaiian Islands, and offers a fascinating and stunning array of beautiful scenery for you to explore.
Sightseeing on Hawaii’s Big Island means your days will be filled with natural wonders: wander around a lava field, stroll through a tropical rainforest, and take a dip in the warm waters of the Pacific. To get the most out of your Hawaii Big Island tour and to get an idea of what areas you’d like to see up close, we suggest renting a car and exploring Hawaii’s Big Island from behind the wheel. The Onomea Bay Scenic Drive, located along the Hamakua Coast, will take you past shimmering emerald rainforest and astonishing glimpses of the tranquil Pacific Ocean. It’s the perfect place to get some pictures and see what the beauty of Hawaii is really about.
No tour of Hawaii’s Big Island is complete without meeting the sea turtles of Kahalu’u Bay. Strap on your mask and snorkel, and swim around the warm, blue-green waters of the bay to get up close and personal with the turtles and thousands of other sea creatures. If hanging out with the sea life isn’t entirely your cup of tea, you can also try paddleboarding, jet skiing, or a variety of other watersports. Alternatively, you can spoil yourself in the time-honored indulgence of relaxing on the black lava sands, soaking up some of the legendary Hawaiian sunshine.

Leave the regular world behind when you step into the fog-swathed “City by the Bay.” From shopping adventures in Union Square to a trip on the city’s legendary cable cars, a trip to San Francisco is bound to leave you with incredible memories.
Stop by Fisherman’s Wharf and indulge in its shops and galleries, as well as some of the best fresh seafood you’ll ever taste. Walk on the Golden Gate Bridge and take in the fresh sea air and views of the bay and Pacific Ocean. If it’s a more serene environment you’re after, pass through the stately architecture and flowing lagoon of the Palace of Fine Arts.
Of course, San Francisco sightseeing isn’t complete without an excursion to Alcatraz, the island prison that once held some of the country’s most notorious criminals. Look into its empty cells and thick stone walls and wonder, could you escape “The Rock”?

It's strategically located on the isthmus that forms the land bridge connecting North and South America and controls the Panama Canal that links the North Atlantic Ocean via the Caribbean Sea with the North Pacific Ocean, one of the most important shipping routes in the world.
Costa Rica (Spanish: Costa Rica or República de Costa Rica, pronounced [reˈpuβlika ðe ˈkosta ˈrika]) is a small country in Central America bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the south, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and the Caribbean Sea to the east.

For more information on the surfing lessons I took, visit http://www.mauisurfergirls.com, and for information on where I stayed at during the first half of my trip and took my ukulele lesson, visit http://www.kaanapalialii.com, and check out http://www.fourseasons.com/maui/ for info on where I stayed the second half of my trip.

Travel video about destination Chile.
Chile was given its name by the Incas who respectfully called it Chili, ‘the country in the south’. Santiago De Chile, the capital of Chile, is dignified, modest and European-looking and also lively, modern and full of Latin temperament. The Plaza De Armas is the heart of the city and the historic centre of colonial Santiago that contains the city’s most important buildings. The city of Valparaiso or, Paradise Valley, is around a hundred and twenty kilometres from the capital of Santiago De Chile on the Pacific coast. The city’s development was closely connected with its harbour which brought it wealth and power. Since the middle of the nineteenth century, escalators have rattled up and down the steep hills of the harbour city with forty five hills flanking the bay, each of them covered with a number of tiny wooden huts. Only a short journey on a gravel road and the Atacama Desert begins. At its centre it is the driest desert in the world where the forces of nature have turned it into an extraordinary landscape. The Atacama extends between the Pacific Ocean and the Cordilleras, an area of stone and sand that is perforated only by various frequently dried out salt lakes. For those ships that sailed around Cape Horn, Ancud represented a safe harbour on the journey north in which they could rest after sailing the stormy waters of the South Pacific. At a time when whales and seals were hunted in the Antarctic, Ancud served as a supply station along the route to the southern Polar sea. From the Atacama Desert in the north to as far as the stormy Tierra Del Fuego in the south, Chile is a country rich in contrast. Volcanoes, arid deserts, salt lakes, lively geysers, sandstone mountains and a cosmopolitan city. All of this is to be found in Chile, a country at the end of the world!

El Niño /ɛl ˈniːnjoʊ/ (Spanish pronunciation: [el ˈniɲo]) is the warm phase of the El Niño Southern Oscillation (commonly called ENSO) and is associated with a band of warm ocean water that develops in the central and east-central equatorial Pacific (between approximately the International Date Line and 120°W), including off the Pacific coast of South America. El Niño Southern Oscillation refers to the cycle of warm and cold temperatures, as measured by sea surface temperature, SST, of the tropical central and eastern Pacific Ocean. El Niño is accompanied by high air pressure in the western Pacific and low air pressure in the eastern Pacific. The cool phase of ENSO is called "La Niña" with SST in the eastern Pacific below average and air pressures high in the eastern and low in western Pacific. The ENSO cycle, both El Niño and La Niña, causes global changes of both temperatures and rainfall.[2][3] Mechanisms that cause the oscillation remain under study.
Developing countries dependent upon agriculture and fishing, particularly those bordering the Pacific Ocean, are the most affected. In Spanish, the capitalized term "El Niño" refers to the Child Jesus, so named because the pool of warm water in the Pacific near South America is often at its warmest around Christmas.[4] "La Niña", chosen as the 'opposite' of El Niño, literally translates to "the girl child".
Measurements and simulations have found that climate change has created a tendency toward more extreme El Niños in recent years.[5][6][qualify evidence]When El Niño conditions last for many months, extensive ocean warming and the reduction in easterly trade winds limits upwelling of cold nutrient-rich deep water, and its economic impact to local fishing for an international market can be serious.[11]
More generally, El Niño can affect commodity prices and the macroeconomy of different countries. It can constrain the supply of rain-driven agricultural commodities; reduce agricultural output, construction, and services activities; create food-price and generalised inflation; and may trigger social unrest in commodity-dependent poor countries that primarily rely on imported food.[12] A University of Cambridge Working Paper shows that while Australia, Chile, Indonesia, India, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa face a short-lived fall in economic activity in response to an El Niño shock, other countries may actually benefit from

In this series, I find myself stranded on a raft floating somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. To stay alive, I most provide myself with the basic necessities: Water, food, thermoregulation, shelter, the ability to think straight, to navigate safely and to avoid unpleasant and possibly fatal interactions with animals.
I will be playing Minecraft 1.8.1 with this survival map which has implemented some realistic survival experience. I can die of hypothermia or from dehydrated if I dont take care of myself. I have 26 challenges to complete before I can conclude this Series. Let the Fun Begin!

Vlog 16 (2/14/16)
In this vlog, I embark on the journey from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara, go on a spectacular hike up to the Gaviota Wind Caves, and watch a beautiful sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
California is the best.
DISCLAIMER: I apologize for the horrible audio. Workin on it.

My name is Christian and I'm a new daily vlogger. Well, probably not DAILY but close to it. I began a few days before the start of 2016.
I started this new vlog channel to keep my editing and shooting skills sharp while also challenging myself to create content as often as I can. I shoot everything with my iPhone 6 (for now) and use editing tips I've picked up over the years to make daily life (somewhat) interesting.
Hope you enjoy it.

Vice sails to the North Pacific Gyre, collecting point for all of the ocean's flotsam and home of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch: a mythical, Texas-sized island made entirely of our trash.
**
Come aboard as we take a cruise to the Northern Gyre in the Pacific Ocean, a spot where currents spin and cycle, churning up tons of plastic into a giant pool of chemical soup, flecked with bits and whole chunks of refuse that cannot biodegrade.

As expected, the topic of radiation leaking into the Pacific Ocean and threatening marine life and public safety is receiving a lot of attention. Our intent with this lecture was to bring forth the most up to date information from American and Canadian scientists that are involved in measuring the levels of radiation so the public can be more informed. The information collected, analyzed and shared by our speakers was done scientifically.
Dr. Ken Buesseler is a scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, which is an independent non-profit research and education institute. You can read about their program at Our Radioactive Ocean and WHOI.
Dr. Jay Cullen is a scientist at the University of Victoria and a scientist for Marine Observation Prediction and Response Network. MEOPAR is funded by the Government of Canada and more information about their organization is available on the MEOPAR website.
Levels of Fukushima cesium off the west coast of North America were measured independently by WHOI, Canada Fisheries and Kelp Watch 2015. They all agree on levels of cesium isotopes in waters along the coast and offshore.

http://www.thenuclearproctologist.org/ The entire 200 kilometers we checked of Canadian Pacific Coast Line was devoid of all life except 4 main species and they are very patchy and we a found several other species like limpets and snails etc in tiny insignificant spots never in groups , . When a rational person considers the reality of the 5500 species that are missing from the tidal area that is also the nursery of the pacific ocean itself ,recovery seems highly unlikely because Fukushima can not be stopped . The bigger marine animals like salmon fish crabs etc will not last much longer and because people are ignoring 5500 missing species it seems almost impossible to have a debate with that closed compartmentalized irrational mind set . Dana continues his dangerous voyage up the BC coast, finding more and more evidence of the Pacific Ocean Dying. This is devastating news, and although we have known this would happen, actually seeing it through the lens of a camera brings it all home; the sobering facts proving without a doubt, that Fukushima IS an ELE event.
We have to keep Dana going; it is completely up to us. No Government funding will ever be extended to the Fukushima Expedition for Life. Please help if you can, by going to: http://fukushimahounds.freeforums.net/thread/761/gotta-keep-donations-flowing-dana If you cannot help with dollars, then your help by spreading this terrible truth is no less help than dollars.
---note: if you are a shill or a troll, your comment will be deleted, and you will be banned. We have no time for your absurd arguments or insults. Go get your pay from the IAEA, and be gone with ya.
We deal with facts here, and have no time to argue with anyone that wants to try to belittle the facts about Fukushima. You will be deleted and banned.

Dana (youtube user name BeautifulGirlByDana) has been doing coastline surveys of the Pacific North West and recording life (or lack there of) on the tidal pools along the Pacific North West Ocean in a small craft in Canada. He has recorded underwater footage of what is left of life forms in the tidal pools when the tide is at it's lowest - allowing up close and personal observation. Please visit http://www.thenuclearproctologist.org/ for additional information about his studies. You may also reach him via his phone via his website to ask or interview him about his extensive studies here: # 604-223-0763
