Peter Goldmark Centennial Interview
The centennial video history project features virtual interviews with former and longstanding Port Authority employees. The interviews capture the breadth and diversity of the Port Authority from the agency’s latest 50 years. The project is in collaboration with Montclair State University. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all interviews were conducted virtually.
Peter C. Goldmark Jr., a native of New York, served as Executive Director of the Port Authority from 1977-1985. Goldmark was appointed by Gov. Hugh L. Carey to lead the agency. He is responsible for generating the expansion of industrial parks in the inner ring around Manhattan which included communities in New York and New Jersey. The first container port was built during Goldmark’s tenure.

LISC celebrated its 30th Anniversary with a Gala event in Washington, DC. In this video, Peter C. Goldmark, Former President of the Rockefeller Foundation and former LISC Board member, delivered the keynote address. LISC Chair, Robert Rubin introduced him.
Held at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the event drew over 800 attendees celebrating LISC and the community development field.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, PathFinder hosted a 4-hours long boot camp to honor the amazing female teen leaders' entrepreneurial journey. Teenage female leaders from Bangladesh,India, Zambia, Uganda and the Philippines shared their stories of success and struggles. Over 100 young women aged 12 to 22 met to discuss, brainstorm, and build solutions for these female-led business ventures.

The LP was introduced by Columbia's Goddard Lieberson in 1948. Lieberson was later president of Columbia Records from 1956–71 and 1973–75. According to György Marx he was one of The Martians.
