Mister Rogers made a extremely rare cameo appearance on a 1975 episode of Captain Kangaroo to repair something called a grammophone (I've never seen this episode as a child, so I have no idea what that device was). No one thought that they would become the ultimate dream team of children's program icons, but the alliance was priceless, to say the least. The entire cast of Sesame Street made an appearance on an episode of the Muppet Show a few years later. :)
They both invited their friends to Mist-r Alphard's concert and have made it their mission to spread the gospel of LFO-ism, vowing that, from the youngest and the first, to the eldest and the last, all will be moved.
