Information, in its most restricted technical sense, is a sequence of symbols that can be interpreted as a message. Information can be recorded as signs, or transmitted as signals. Information is any kind of event that affects the state of a dynamic system. Conceptually, information is the message (utterance or expression) being conveyed. This concept has numerous other meanings in different contexts. Moreover, the concept of information is closely related to notions of constraint, communication, control, data, form, instruction, knowledge, meaning, mental stimulus, pattern, perception, representation, and especially entropy.
The English word was apparently derived from the Latin stem (information-) of the nominative (informatio): this noun is in its turn derived from the verb "informare" (to inform) in the sense of "to give form to the mind", "to discipline", "instruct", "teach": "Men so wise should go and inform their kings." (1330) Inform itself comes (via French informer) from the Latin verb informare, to give form, to form an idea of. Furthermore, Latin itself already contained the word informatio meaning concept or idea, but the extent to which this may have influenced the development of the word information in English is not clear.

Awarded First Place at the Association for Information Systems (AIS) 2013-2014 Student Chapter Leadership Conference and International Competition for the IT Video Track.
The goal of this video is to highlight examples of IT that are being used in ways which help businesses and influence society in a manner that interests the average student. We noted three examples fulfilling these guidelines: Target using customers’ purchase history to predict pregnancies, Amazon’s data analysis to suggest products for customers to buy, and Netflix’s recommendation system for viewers to enjoy similar content.
To further influence high school and college students’ decision to join the IT field, we noted personal benefits such as high salaries and multiple disciplines in IT that different personalities have the opportunity to excel in. All this information is presented in an eloquent and engaging manner which allows people of many skill sets and levels to enjoy. A clear voice and captivating sketches lead the listener through a series of ideas that promote their decision to join the IT field.

Daher benötigen Manager besondere Fähigkeiten, um strategische Entscheidungen über die Entwicklung und Nutzung von Information Systems treffen, um das Potential für Innovation zu identifizieren und um zu verstehen, wie Information Systems angelegt und implementiert werden können, damit ihre transformative Leistung für Produktivität, Qualität und Nachhaltigkeit ausgeschöpft wird.
Der Masterstudiengang Information Systems / Informationssysteme mit seinen Spezialisierungen in Geschäftsprozessmanagement und Statistik vermittelt diese Fähigkeiten und konzentriert sich damit auf den Zusammenhang zwischen Informatik und Business. Die Studenten erlernen hier die Fähigkeiten, die in einer sich rasch ändernden digitalen Welt benötigt werden. 'Big Data Analytics' ist einer unserer Schwerpunkte. Prägend sind die engen Kooperationen mit der Hilti AG und mit SAP InnoJam.
Der Studiengang wurde auf der Grundlage des Bedarfs der Wirtschaft nach Experten für Information Systems entwickelt und ist darauf ausgerichtet, berufliche Karrieren in internationalen Umfeldern zu fördern. Die gründliche wissenschaftliche Ausbildung bietet außerdem die Grundlage für akademische Karrieren.

As the world becomes more technology driven, organizations of all sizes and sectors touch ICT accessibility, whether through website design, document creation, or multimedia utilization. One entrepreneur says he has been busy trying to boost growth through marketing and PR. His company has grown more than 20% in the past 3 months.
India achieved rapid economic growth as an ideal outsourcing destination. But its IT industry is starting to prosper. Young people who studied computer programming at university have gained experience working for overseas firms, and they've returned to India, armed with their new skills.
Mu Sigma, a company specializing in big data, employs 3,500 engineers. It has developed artificial intelligence that can support sales and purchases of stocks and foreign currencies. The program can analyze investment data in a split second and pick stocks to buy or sell. It allows diversified investment very quickly.
Mu Sigma has also created a service that could revolutionize marketing. It uses cameras to capture customers' faces up close when they look at products. Software is used to analyze the images and measure changes in customers' body temperatures. An increase indicates the customer's interest. Such information is crucial when developing new products and planning advertising.
The company's products are attracting the attention of businesses across the world.
Visitors are eager to learn more about them. An official from a Japanese IT company was impressed by the development team and their freewheeling thinking. He said Indian technology is catching up with that of developed nations.
Mu Sigma Chief Executive Officer Dhiraj C. Rajaram says Bangalore is the next Silicon Valley. He says the success of his company and others in the field are boosting the city's innovation level.
With its creative, highly-skilled workers, it looks like India has a bright future ahead as a technology hub that can bring sweeping innovation to the world.

La théorie de l'information, en tant que science établie, a tout juste soixante ans. Elle a été à l'origine de nombreuses inventions qui ont permis le formidable essor des télécommunications et de la télématique. Mais si la science est jeune, l'objet de son exploration - l'information - est vieux comme le monde. Qu'il s'agisse de son écriture, de sa protection, de son transport, de sa restitution ou de son interprétation, l'information est la substance première des systèmes, matériels ou humains, qui communiquent et évoluent. Il est donc naturel que les concepts et les techniques qui ont émergé de la théorie de l'information s'ouvrent au monde. La première partie de l'exposé présentera les retombées les plus marquantes de la théorie de l'information sur les télécommunications et la seconde partie donnera des exemples de dissémination dans d'autres domaines tels que la génétique ou la cognitique.
