Later, some Indochina-French Governors used this summer house occasionally so it’s also called “Villa du Gouverneur” (Dinh Toan Quyen). Both Ngo Dinh Diem and Nguyen Van Thieu used it as well for recreation and holiday. It made the name Dinh Ong Thuong (Palace of Lord appear). Villa Blanche is located on the slop of Big Mountain, along Tran Phu St., at 50m above sea level. The outside walls were decorated with beading and the Hellenic statues. This was also the location where the French colonialists placed Thanh Thai Kin under house arrest. He belonged to the last feudalistic dynasty in Vietnam and fought against the French before exiling him to Reunion Island off the coast of Africa (1909-1910). From its balcony there's a panoramic view of Front Beach and opposite the Villa at the foot of that mountain is Hai Nguu islet with a stone rock shaped like a water buffalo wallowing in water. Next to Hai Nguu at the seaside was the helicopter yard. Today Villa Blanche exhibits hundreds of antiques collected from Cau Islet-Con Dao and is the culture destination attracts hundreds of tourists every day.

Shepherd Entertainment takes you on a tour of Ragusa in Sicily, which is built on a wide limestone hill between two deep
valleys, Cava San Leonardo and Cava Santa Domenica.
Visit Ragusa in Sicily
The southern coat of the Ireland is a les visited part of Sicily. Only Modica and Ragusa are worth mentioning. The latter is the departure point of trips towards the inner parts of the island. Leguse is the capital of the southeast and the county seat. Only the upper Ragusa built on the site of the Greek Hybla Heraea., and the medieval city built adjacent to it are interesting for tourists. Lower Ragusa is a center of asphalt and oil-mining. It's a modern industrial city with all its disadvantages.
The picturesque Baroque of the city has such monuments as a San Giorgio Church or the Santa Maria delle Scale Church dating back to the 15th century or the Pro Patria monument. In his famous work, "Italian Journey", Gouda writes about the antique monuments of Sicily with enthusiasm. Before and after him, many people have shared this order.
The diverse sides of the island are due to its mixed history. The native Siccans were conquered by Punic and Greek people. In 212 B.C., they were followed by the Romans who made the island their independent probincia. A thousand years later, Saracants, that is, Arabian people arrived. They were beat by the Norman -- a French origin. After the [Foreign Language] Dynasty died out, the German Howenstaus then the French Anju finally succeeded. The Famous folk rising called the Sicilian even song "Dispel the Anju". Then, with the help of the pope the Spanish Oregonion house gained power later following to the Hapsburgs hand. They were succeeded by the Savoy and Bourbon house until the island joined the Untied Italian Kingdom.
Siracusa is the most severely city on the Ionic Sea and was founded on 734 B.C. by the Greek Conrintha's on the island of Artesia. During its hay-day, it's a as big as it is today. Today, the island to the mainland is connected with a bridge. The place of Aeschylus, Sophocles, and Euripides used to be performed in the Greek theater. Today, we can adore the sunset from its semi-circle benches. Archimedes controlled the technical defenses of Siracusa besieged by the Romans with catapults and among other things, paraball and mirrors. The scholar was killed by a Roman soldier who didn't care about Archimedes famous saying "Don't disturb my circles". The scholar's tomb was alleged to be near Latomia Del Paradiso, a quarry. The huge castle-like quarry with its collapsed top became well-known when 7,000 prisoners of war were imprisoned here.
Dionysus Theranus heard the prisoners talking to each other in an echoing cave and the cave has been called Dionysus Ear ever since. All over the island the products of craftsmen are popular. In Siracusa, the custom-made products of ceramics are especially popular with tourists.
The ships going to Malta set-off from the harbor of the city. A small alley, Paseo Aretusa, leaves to the harbor from where bay sis beautiful especially at sunset. The main square is decorated by a spectacular Diana fountain dating back to 1906. The side of the old town lining the peninsula reminds us of Dubrovnik that the buildings seen here represent several centuries in several styles. Frederick II was responsible for the building of the fortress Castella Mariachi extending to the sea. The building of Palazo Bellomo dates back to the 13th century, the showpiece of its museum, and the painting Angelic Reading by Messina. St. John's catacombs remain from old Christian times from the yard of a monastery which fell into decay.
The minister was built on the side of the Minerva Church partly using its reminders. Its exterior pats were converted in Baroque style later on. Some columns of the huge three-aisle building belong to the Minerva Church. In the chapel, we can see the silver sculpture of Saint Lucia who scratched off her own eyes because one of the admirers complimented them. The beautiful altar pictures are also a work by Messina.
Siracus boast everything that the other cities of Sicily have. Siracusa can hold its own with any other city of Sicily. There's an excavation and archaeological museum -- the Apollo sanctuary and cathedral, the Greek theater and Roman anti-theater, Gothic fortress and medieval catacombs. But it has something that no other Sicilian cities have.
There's a legend about the spring of Arathusa. The nymph has turned into a spring here by Alphaes, the God of Rivers. Another curiosity that plays is that in Europe the papyrus of the Nile which was planted here by the Arabians can grow only here in the warm water of the pool.

Venice, Italy - Venice travel guide video discovering some hidden parts of the city of Venice, including the gardens of the Biennale Exhibition of Modern Arts, Palladio’s Church of San Pietro in Castello, the Naval Museum with a model of the Bucintoro (Doge’s Boat) and the Pavilion of Gondolas housing Peggy Guggenheim’s own vessel.
The Veneto, the mainland province around Venice, takes its name from the Veneti, the pre-Roman inhabitants of the region. The region bore the brunt of fierce and destructive barbarian attacks that began in the 4th century. Fleeing the Goths, the people of the Veneto sought refuge among the wild and uninhabited islands of their marshy coast.
Building on a patchwork of more than 100 low-lying islands in the middle of a swampy lagoon they formed villages and the city of Venice rose in 421 AD. By the 13th century Venice ruled Byzantium. At its height, Venice was one of the greatest military and commercial powers on earth. In population it was four times the size of Rome and London combined. In 1508 the Pope, the kings of France and Spain and the Holy Roman Emperor joined forces to stop the advances of this powerful empire.
Although her expansion was halted, Venice continued to dominate the eastern Mediterranean for another 200 years. In 1846 Venice lost its isolation when a causeway joined the city to the mainland and the Italian rail network. The region's architecture, paintings and way of life reflect the splendor of Venice and the impact she had on the world. In addition to being home to magnificent art and
architecture, Venice and the Veneto are laced with an exceptional network of navigable canals and waterways. In the lagoons and canals of Venice, one sails past colourful waterfront houses, under Renaissance bridges and close to magnificent historic sites such as St. Mark's Cathedral.
Known to Venetians as Canalazzo, the Grand Canal weaves its way through Venice's six districts or sestieri following the course of an ancient river bed. The two-mile-long Grand Canal serves as the city's main thoroughfare. Its average depth is 9 feet and the width varies from 120 to 228 feet. On its borders are some of the finest palaces of the Republic
Our Cruise in Italy
La Bella Vita is a stylish twenty-passenger vessel offering comfortable, fully air-conditioned accommodation. She has two upper deck junior suites and eight lower deck staterooms, all offering en suite facilities, and a bright, spacious dining room and bar area where delicious Italian specialities will be served. Louvre doors open to the side to give a perfect view. Above, there is a huge sun deck with comfortable loungers to relax on with a drink and a good book, or just watch the world go by.

Dubai (دبي) is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. It is rather like an independent city-state and is the most modern and progressive emirate in the UAE, developing at an unbelievable pace in the tourist and trade sectors especially. Recently Dubai won the bid to host EXPO 2020, a Universal scale Registered Exposition approved by the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE), Paris.
See in Dubai
===========
Burj Khalifa, Until recently called Burj Dubai, at 828 metres and 160 floors this is the world's tallest structure by a long shot, over 300m taller than the previous contender in Taipei. The observation deck at the 124th floor is the 2nd highest in the world after the Shanghai World Financial centre. Already dominating the Dubai skyline, the newly opened tower houses nine hotels and a Las Vegas-inspired fountain system. The visitors' entrance is located at the lower ground floor of Dubai Mall[14]. Although the tour is called At the Top be aware that it isn't! Although the observation deck is the highest open deck in the world, at 452m it's just over halfway up the tower itself. Console yourself with the knowledge that most of the rest of the tower consists of service areas and the view below looks suitably ant-like. Tickets cost Dhs 125 for a timed entry ticket, usually later the same day, or Dhs 400 if you do not want to wait. Tickets can sell out several days in advance, and it is advisable to book them online ahead of your visit.
The Dubai Fountain, [15]. At 270m (900ft) in length and sporting a jet that shoots water up to 150m (500 ft), the Dubai Fountain is indeed the world's largest dancing fountain and one with a very enticing display - a definite must see. The show starts every evening at the Burj Dubai Lake. Easy way to approach it is via the Dubai Mall. Shows are every 30 minutes from 6pm to 10pm on weekdays and from 6pm to 11pm on weekends. It's the world’s largest dancing fountain with classical, Arabic and world music. About 1.5 million lumens of projected light and the spray heights of up to 150m/500 ft (22,000 gallons of airborne water).
Burj al-Arab hotel [16]. For a real glimpse into "how the other half lives", (self-proclaimed as the only 7 star hotel in the world), afternoon tea, or cocktails, may be an interesting experience. Entry to the hotel requires a reservation which will be confirmed at the entry gate, although residents of adjacent Jumeirah hotels may be able to visit by arrangement. Other tourists may occasionally be able to book tours of the hotel itself, however these will not run when the hotel is full. A "very smart casual" dress code applies. Reservations are usually required about a month in advance for a room, but a few days will generally suffice for a meal.
Dubai Marina. One of the newer and more popular areas of Modern Dubai, both with residents and tourists. It offers numerous features such as a phenomenal skyline, world class hotels, a fabulous beach, a mall, and 2 different walkways (The Walk and Marina Walk) with coffee shops, restaurants, and shops. Marina Walk is right on the "Marina water", and there are many yachts there. You can rent a yacht for a cruise around the area. The Walk has a nice open market run from October till May, every Fridays and Saturdays at daylight.
Palm Islands[17]. The three largest artificial islands in the world are located just off the coast of Dubai; a major urban development to add a significant amount of upscale beachfront property to the area. Each of the islands is shaped like a palm leaf, with a trunk connected to the mainland, fronds extending from the trunk, and a crescent (a breakwater encircling the trunk and fronds). Of the three planned, the Palm Jumeirah, at 5km square and near Dubai Marina, is the only one yet open, connected to the mainland by a freeway bridge and a monorail and sporting marinas, luxury resorts, and upscale shopping areas.

Sheikh Zayed Mosque. The 6th largest mosque in the world. There are guided tours of the interior several times a day. Note that there is a dress code-- quite strict for women; less so for men (who can even wear shorts; albeit beyond the knee). You can easily get there by public bus. Ask the bus driver to let you know once you get there. The public bus stop is a 100m before the mosque and after that is no stop for the next 5km.

Vancouver, Canada Travel - Vancouver is a coastal city located in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada. It is named for British Captain George Vancouver, who explored the area in the 1790s. The name Vancouver itself originates from the Dutch van Coevorden, denoting somebody from Coevorden, a city in the Netherlands.
The largest metropolitan area in Western Canada, Vancouver ranks third largest in the country and the city proper ranks eighth. According to the 2006 census Vancouver had a population of just over 578,000 and its Census Metropolitan Area exceeded 2.1 million people. Its residents are ethnically and linguistically diverse; 52% do not speak English as their first language.
Logging sawmills established in 1867 in the area known as Gastown became the nucleus around which the townsite grew, and Vancouver was incorporated as a city in 1886. By 1887, the transcontinental railway was extended to the city to take advantage of its large natural seaport, which soon became a vital link in a trade route between the Orient, Eastern Canada, and London. The Port Metro Vancouver is now the busiest and largest in Canada, as well as the fourth largest port (by tonnage) in North America. While forestry remains its largest industry, Vancouver is well known as an urban centre surrounded by nature, making tourism its second largest industry. It also is the third largest film production centre in North America after Los Angeles and New York City, earning it the nickname Hollywood North.
Vancouver has ranked highly in worldwide livable city rankings for more than a decade according to business magazine assessments. It has hosted many international conferences and events, including the 1976 United Nations Conference on Human Settlements and the 1986 World Exposition on Transportation and Communication. The 2010 Winter Olympics and 2010 Winter Paralympics are being held in Vancouver and nearby Whistler, a resort community 125 km (78 miles) north of the city starting February 12, 2010. ME, ME, ME, The Rude Mainland Chinese Mindset
Of course there are rude people and nice people everywhere in the world. Any Chinese person I know on a personal level is lovely. However, in China, or to be specific, Jiangsu provence, over there years I have witnessed repeated public displays of hierarchy from the middle and upperclass. Rich people screaming at poor people on the street. Swanning into buildings leaving the door open.
Shouting at waitresses and flipping the table if their food doesn't arrive quickly enough. Walking in wide line formation down the street so that no one can get past easily.
Lots more screaming at people. Parking their expensive cars anywhere and then screaming at anyone who has a problem with it, usually the poor parking attendant. Expensive cars carelessly taking over the roads with little regards for others; once I saw a woman in a fairly expensive car drive in to a gas station in the wrong direction blocking other cars from exiting, then proceeded to shout at the clerk to fill her car up.
They are seen as pushy, loud, impolite, unruly, and they are everywhere.
And although destination countries welcome the tourism dollars the Chinese spend, they loathe the chaos and hassle some mainland tourists bring upon their cities and other tourists.
“Why can’t they just behave?” people wonder, some aloud.
DON'T MISS - Rude awakening: Chinese tourists have the money, but not the manners I have been asking myself the same question in the past months after reporting on the uncivilised, sometimes galling behaviour of some compatriots.
It seems that every time a “rude Chinese tourist" story is published on SCMP.com, it goes straight into the site's top 10 most read articles - one such article even managed to crawl back to the top months after it was posted. So I decided to give the question some serious thought. tourism experts and travel agents and chatted with some of these tourists who are now at the centre of public anger.
Yong Chen, tourism researcher and post-doctoral fellow at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, said most “bad” tourists don’t intend to be “bad” or “tourists”, they are just being themselves - they are being Chinese. china chinese "mainland china" tourism tourist rude society social mindset knowledge education hk "hong kong" taiwan asia asian "south east asia" 2015 2016 "middle age" "tour group" tour pass hotel "hotel room" booking world global history historic me parents "number 1" child children money cash wealth millionaire billionaire shenzhen "made in china" investment passport "u.s. citizenship" compensation "social media" "elite nwo agenda" ratchet china daily loser laowai in china rice behavior eticate manners morals values chinese culture farmer land factory
Not every Chinese tourist is a rude one, and educated people are usually better behaved than those who have had a lower standard of education, said Chen.
This could be why middle-aged or older tourists who have been deprived of or received little education during China's politically tumultuous times tend to act more unruly. Many of them do not speak English, and some are not fluent Putonghua speakers. Their knowledge of the destination country and its culture is often at best outdated or non-existent.
Disregard for customs and rules Jenny Wang, a Beijing-based Maldives travel agent, said uneducated tourists usually turn a blind eye to local rules and customs.
A Chinese man who was recently vacationing at a Maldives resort flipped out after discovering that the restaurant where he wanted to eat was fully booked, Wang said. He yelled threats and slurs at Chinese staff until one member was in tears.
Though most travel agents in China would educate their clients about tipping in a foreign country ahead of their trip, most people ended up tipping very little or none. Some are not used to the idea of tipping, and they fail to understand that staff working at the Maldives resorts, who usually earn salary, rely heavily on tips, Wang said.
2. China became rich and open to the world in just a few decades, and so did the chinese middle and rich class. Most of them did not receive a proper education in academics or manners when they were young. If you take a look at what happened in China over the last century, you will know more. 3. In China too many people are competing for very limited resources. By "resources", I mean almost everything valuable: A chance to go to a good middle school, a good university, job opportunities, promotional opportunities, good doctors, wealth, et cetera... People became selfish toward other people simply because they are all competitors. (However, this is not true within families where parents extremely spoil their children.)

Phang Nga Bay (Thai: อ่าวพังงา, RTGS: Ao Phang-nga, Thai pronunciation: [ʔàːw pʰaŋ.ŋaː]) is a 400 km² bay in the Strait of Malacca between the island of Phuket and the mainland of the Malay peninsula of southern Thailand. Since 1981, an extensive section of the bay has been protected as the Ao Phang Nga National Park. The park is in Phang Nga Province, at 08°17'N 098°36'E.
Limestone cliffs with caves, collapsed cave systems, and archaeological sites are found about Phang Nga Bay. Some 10,000 years ago, when sea levels were lower, one could walk from Phuket and Krabi. More info : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phang_Nga_Bay

Vancouver is a coastal city and major seaport located in the Lower Mainland of southwestern British Columbia, Canada. It is the largest city in both British Columbia and Western Canada and the second largest after Seattle in the Pacific Northwest. The population of the city of Vancouver is 578,041 and the population of Metro Vancouver is 2,116,581.

What you see in the Florida Keys you will not see anywhere else in the United States. Famous beauty and nature comprised in more than 800 islands, with 125 miles of Overseas Highway to explore. Enjoy this video for a short introduction to the fabulous Florida Keys.
According to Florida Keys legend, if visitors get sand in their shoes, they're destined to come back to the island chain again and again. It's not unusual to see first-timers scuffling their feet along the beaches, hoping to ensure repeat visits.
Curving below the southern tip of the Florida mainland, the Keys are connected by the Overseas Highway's 42 bridges over the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. The region is divided into five unique districts, beginning with the northernmost island of Key Largo, known for its unparalleled diving and snorkeling.
Farther down lies the sport-fishing paradise of Islamorada, a recreational boating destination and historic Seven Mile Bridge at Marathon, the unspoiled nature preserves of Big Pine and the Lower Keys and, finally, quirky and charming Key West.
Together, the Keys are characterized by a rich seafaring history, flourishing creative community, balmy subtropical climate, natural environment that includes continental America's only living coral barrier reef and laid-back attitude that seems worlds away from everyday cares. Discover the island chain's attributes, attractions and engaging flavor in the releases here.

Monemvasia, Greece:
Separated from the mainland by an earthquake in 375 A.D. Its name derives from two #Greek words, mone and emvassi, meaning "single entrance".
Today a causeway links the mainland town of #Yefira /New Monemvasia to #Monemvasia or #Kastro ( #castle ). The Kastro is divided into a lower and an upper town. Many #ruins of the original 800 houses and only four out of the original forty churches can be found in the lower town. Among them is the #Church of the Elkomenos #Christ (Christ Dragged), which is named after a famous icon of Christ given in 1700 to the #church by Andreas Likinios, philosopher and chief physician to the ruler of Moldavia, Dimitirs Kandimir. The oldest church is St. Paul’s, which was built in 956, and today houses the #museum . Further on, towards the eastern edge of the lower town and closer to the sea is the whitewashed Our Lady of Hrisafittisa, which was built in the sixteenth century.
High above, castle walls protect the upper town on the summit. There one can see the remains of Byzantine houses and public buildings and a vast cistern that ensured a water supply at times of siege. A fortified zigzag path from the upper town leads to the Fortress of #Goulas on the summit overlooking the town. It is entered by a tunnel that still retains its ironbound gates. Among the ruins of houses and cisterns of the #acropolis of the upper town stands St. Sophia, a Byzantine church founded by Andronikos II Paleologos on a plan similar to that of Daphni in #Athens .
