Heidi
Heidi (pronounced [ˈhaɪdi]) is a work of children's fiction published in 1881 by Swiss author Johanna Spyri, originally published in two parts as Heidi's years of learning and travel (German: Heidis Lehr- und Wanderjahre) and Heidi makes use of what she has learned. (German: Heidi kann brauchen, was es gelernt hat) It is a novel about the events in the life of a young girl in her grandfather's care, in the Swiss Alps. It was written as a book "for children and those who love children" (as quoted from its subtitle).
Heidi is one of the best-selling books ever written and is among the best-known works of Swiss literature.
Plot summary
Heidi is a girl who has been raised by her aunt Detie in Maienfeld, Switzerland after the early deaths of her parents, Tobias and Adelheid (Detie's sister and brother-in-law). Detie brings 6-year-old Heidi to her paternal grandfather's house, up the mountain from Dörfli. He has been at odds with the villagers and embittered against God for years and lives in seclusion on the alm. This has earned him the nickname Alm-Uncle. He briefly resents Heidi's arrival, but the girl's evident intelligence and cheerful yet unaffected demeanor soon earn his genuine, if reserved, affection. Heidi enthusiastically befriends her new neighbors, young Peter the goatherd, his mother, Bridget, and his blind maternal grandmother, who is "Grannie" to everyone. With each season that passes, the mountaintop inhabitants grow more attached to Heidi.

Heidi. (stylized as heidi.) is a Japanese visual kei rock band formed in Tokyo in February 2006. They gained popularity after performing at the hide memorial summit on May 4, 2008 to tens of thousands of people. Their third album was released in Europe by Gan-Shin records in 2009 and the following year Heidi. signed to major label Geneon Universal Entertainment.
History
Heidi.'s first one-man show, titled 「Birth・Day」, was on June 3, 2006. Their first single, "Yuuyake to Kodomo/Maria", was also sold at that show. The following year they released their debut album, Kasou, on April 25, 2007. The label was their own O Market, which was formed by their management Headwax Organization, who also managed hide, being run by his brother Hiroshi Matsumoto.
On May 4, 2008, they performed at the hide memorial summit alongside legendary bands such as X Japan, Luna Sea and others. On September 21, 2008, D'erlanger held Abstinence's Door #002, where Heidi., Inoran and Merry performed.
In 2009, Heidi. went on a three-man tour called Counter Culture with lynch. and Sadie. They released their third album, Panorama, on September 23. It received a European release by Gan-Shin records on October 23. On October 25, the band performed at V-Rock Festival '09, which was broadcast live worldwide on its official website.

Heidi is eagerly waiting for Grandfather’s reply but no letter comes for her. This distresses her so much that she starts to faint every now and then. Heidi is eagerly waiting for Grandfather’s reply but no letter comes for her. This distresses her so much that she starts to faint every now and then. Everybody is worried and the doctor says that she should avoid to be reminded of the mountains for a while or be sent back to the mountains. Seeing how Clara is distraught at the prospect of losing Heidi, Mr Sesemann decides to give it a couple of days before deciding anything.
But soon Heidi discovers that Dete never sent her letters to Grandfather. Distraught, she faints again and this time, she has to stay in bed indefinitely. Dete feels guilty and explains she only wanted to get Heidi to forget about her past life.
When she realises that her friend’s health is at risk, Clara decides to let Heidi go back to the mountains. Together with Dete, they send a letter to Grandfather letting him know that she’ll be back in a few days.

Peter is jealous of Clara, as Heidi now spends most of her time with her. Heidi makes things worse when she innocently shows Peter’s treehouse to Clara as they walk in the woods with Grandfather. She doesn’t know Peter saw it all from the treehouse. Angry and jealous, Peter steals Clara’s wheelchair in the cabin and throws it down the creek, where it breaks.
The next day, as he refuses to talk to Heidi, Heidi confronts him and they argue violently, Peter pushing Heidi on his way out. Heidi falls on the ground, more ashamed than hurt, but Clara sees it and, without thinking, she walks to help her friend. They are flabbergasted to realise that Clara can now walk!

Heidi is eagerly waiting for Grandfather’s reply but no letter comes for her. This distresses her so much that she starts to faint every now and then. Everybody is worried and the doctor says that she should avoid to be reminded of the mountains for a while or be sent back to the mountains. Seeing how Clara is distraught at the prospect of losing Heidi, Mr Sesemann decides to give it a couple of days before deciding anything.
But soon Heidi discovers that Dete never sent her letters to Grandfather. Distraught, she faints again and this time, she has to stay in bed indefinitely. Dete feels guilty and explains she only wanted to get Heidi to forget about her past life.
When she realises that her friend’s health is at risk, Clara decides to let Heidi go back to the mountains. Together with Dete, they send a letter to Grandfather letting him know that she’ll be back in a few days.

Heidi
Heidi (pronounced [ˈhaɪdi]) is a work of children's fiction published in 1881 by Swiss author Johanna Spyri, originally published in two parts as Heidi's years of learning and travel (German: Heidis Lehr- und Wanderjahre) and Heidi makes use of what she has learned. (German: Heidi kann brauchen, was es gelernt hat) It is a novel about the events in the life of a young girl in her grandfather's care, in the Swiss Alps. It was written as a book "for children and those who love children" (as quoted from its subtitle).
Heidi is one of the best-selling books ever written and is among the best-known works of Swiss literature.
Plot summary
Heidi is a girl who has been raised by her aunt Detie in Maienfeld, Switzerland after the early deaths of her parents, Tobias and Adelheid (Detie's sister and brother-in-law). Detie brings 6-year-old Heidi to her paternal grandfather's house, up the mountain from Dörfli. He has been at odds with the villagers and embittered against God for years and lives in seclusion on the alm. This has earned him the nickname Alm-Uncle. He briefly resents Heidi's arrival, but the girl's evident intelligence and cheerful yet unaffected demeanor soon earn his genuine, if reserved, affection. Heidi enthusiastically befriends her new neighbors, young Peter the goatherd, his mother, Bridget, and his blind maternal grandmother, who is "Grannie" to everyone. With each season that passes, the mountaintop inhabitants grow more attached to Heidi.

The made-for-television version of Johanna Spyri's family classic. Heidi (Jennifer Edwards), a young orphan girl, is sent to live with her grandfather (Michael Redgrave) in the beautiful Swiss Alps. The gruff and bitter old man views Heidi at first as an ill-mannered child and an unwanted responsibility, but he soon becomes quite attached to her. When Heidi is sent to Frankfurt to be a companion to Clara (Zuleika Robson), the crippled daughter of successful businessman Herr Richard Sesemann (Maximilian Schell), Heidi and her grandfather are saddened at their parting. Heidi finds Clara’s governess, Fraulein Rottenmeier (Jean Simmons), to be a kind woman, but the spoiled Clara is mean to Heidi. Heidi soon wins her over, though, and they become good friends. Still homesick, Heidi is sent on a two-week visit with her grandfather and is later joined by Clara. It is there that Clara overcomes her fears and learns to walk. This endearing drama, with a romantic subplot between Herr Sesemann and Fraulein Rottenmeier, features exemplary acting and a magnificent music score. It is a favourite classic tale enjoyed by all ages.
