August 1st, 2013 [KCNA] - The official news agency of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea reports on Silvio Berlusconi's sentence.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has ordered further nuclear tests and other experiments required to beef up offensive military capabilities.
The North's official Korean Central News Agency said today (Friday) Kim gave the instruction while attending a recent rocket launch exercise.
Kim called upon the military's readiness to diversify potential nuclear attacks on "the enemies" from the land, air and sea, according to the KCNA.
On Thursday, North Korea test-fired two short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea in an apparent response to the ongoing huge-scale joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States.
However, the KCNA report failed to clarify whether Kim's instruction was made during Thursday's missile firing drill.
Meanwhile, South Korea says it is considering making a diplomatic response to North Korea's repeated violations of the U.N. resolutions which ban nuclear and missile tests.
Seoul government sources say the diplomatic measures would include sending a letter to ask a North Korea sanctions committee under the U.N. Security Council for probes into the Pyongyang regime's launch of the ballistic missiles.

Pyongyang, February 7
The DPRK National Aerospace Development Administration on Sunday issued a report on the successful launch of earth observation satellite Kwangmyongsong-4.
The report said:
Scientists and technicians of the DPRK National Aerospace Development Administration succeeded in putting the newly developed earth observation satellite Kwangmyongsong-4 into its orbit according to the 2016 plan of the 5-year program for national aerospace development.
Carrier rocket Kwangmyongsong blasted off from the Sohae Space Center in Cholsan County, North Phyongan Province at 09:00 on February 7, Juche 105(2016). The satellite entered its preset orbit at 09:09:46, 9 minutes and 46 seconds after the lift-off.
The satellite is going round the polar orbit at 494.6 km perigee altitude and 500 km apogee altitude at the angle of inclination of 97.4 degrees. Its cycle is 94 minutes and 24 seconds.
Installed in Kwangmyongsong-4 are measuring apparatuses and telecommunications apparatuses needed for observing the earth.
The complete success made in the Kwangmyongsong-4 lift-off is the proud fruition of the great Workers' Party of Korea's policy on attaching importance to science and technology and an epochal event in developing the country's science, technology, economy and defense capability by legitimately exercising the right to use space for independent and peaceful purposes.
The fascinating vapor of Juche satellite trailing in the clear and blue sky in spring of February on the threshold of the Day of the Shining Star, the greatest national holiday of Kim Il Sung's Korea, is a gift of most intense loyalty presented by our space scientists and technicians to the great Comrade Kim Jong Un, our dignified party, state and people.
The National Aerospace Development Administration of the DPRK will in the future, too, launch more satellites of Juche into the space, true to the great Workers' Party of Korea's policy of attaching importance to science and technology.

Outside experts， however， are not convinced.
Why such dramatic statement by the North Korean leader now？ Our Kwon Soa has takes a shot at answering this question.
North Korea is in possession of a hydrogen bomb.
That′s what North Korean leader Kim Jong－un said，... according to Pyongyang′s state media Thursday.
The Korean Central News Agency said he made the remark during an inspection of an arms plant in Pyongyang.
He was quoted as saying North Korea has managed to become a great nuclear power capable of defending the independence and dignity of the state.
Experts say this is the first time Kim has ever mentioned a hydrogen bomb，... as opposed to his more frequent statements on the regime′s nuclear weapons capabilities.
With the H－bomb， they believe the North is merely in the early stages of development.
″The power of a hydrogen bomb is measured in megatons.
Even advanced countries do not possess them. It would also be difficult to test them so close to China... as they would have to do it underground，... but extremely deep，... so that′s also regarded as impossible.″
A government official said there′s no evidence on Pyongyang having developed nor having the technology to build an H－bomb，... adding Kim′s remarks seem to be words of rhetoric.
Some say，... it could be the opening gambit ahead of a round of high－level inter－Korean talks on Friday.
″The show of its military capabilities... could be an indirect way of pressuring South Korea... and a move to lead the talks.″
Professor Kim also said the move could be seen as a way to manipulate the media... or a gesture to start talks with the U.S. and the international community.
Although the existence of an H－bomb in North Korea leaves room for doubt，... the regime does appear to have made progress on its main missile launch site.
According to the U.S. website 38 North，... satellite imagery suggests construction of new propellant bunkers at a launch pad in the northwest of North Korea are close to completion.
38 North said this may indicate the end of a three－year program to upgrade the site，... which could mean Pyongyang could be ready to launch larger rockets by early next year.

Scientists and technicians of the DPRK successfully launched the second version of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 into its orbit by carrier rocket Unha-3, true to the last instructions of leader Kim Jong Il.
Carrier rocket Unha-3 with the second version of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 atop blasted off from the Sohae Space Center in Cholsan County, North Phyongan Province at 09:49:46 on December 12, Juche 101(2012). The satellite entered its preset orbit at 09:59:13, 9 minutes and 27 seconds after the lift-off.
The satellite is going round the polar orbit at 499.7 km perigee altitude and 584.18 km apogee altitude at the angle of inclination of 97.4 degrees. Its cycle is 95 minutes and 29 seconds.
The scientific and technological satellite is fitted with survey and communications devices essential for the observation of the earth.
The successful launch of the satellite is a proud fruition of the Workers' Party of Korea's policy of attaching importance to the science and technology. It is also an event of great turn in developing the country's science, technology and economy by fully exercising the independent right to use space for peaceful purposes.
At a time when great yearnings and reverence for Kim Jong Il pervade the whole country, its scientists and technicians brilliantly carried out his behests to launch a scientific and technological satellite in 2012, the year marking the 100th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. -0-

Kim Il-sung (15 April 1912 – 8 July 1994) was the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, commonly referred to as "North Korea", from its establishment in 1948 until his death in 1994. He held the posts of Prime Minister from 1948 to 1972 and President from 1972 to his death. He was also the leader of the Workers' Party of Korea from 1949 to 1994 (titled as chairman from 1949 to 1966 and as general secretary after 1966).
His tenure as leader of North Korea has often been described as autocratic, and he established an all-pervasive cult of personality. From the mid-1960s, he promoted his self-developed Juche variant of communist national organization, which later replaced Marxism-Leninism as the ideology of the state in 1972. In the Library of Congress Country Study on North Korea in 2009, he was described as "one of the most intriguing figures of the twentieth century". He outlived Joseph Stalin by four decades, Mao Zedong by two, and remained in power during the terms of office of six South Korean presidents, 7 Soviet leaders, ten U.S. presidents, and twenty-one Japanese prime ministers.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has ordered further nuclear tests and other experiments required to beef up offensive military capabilities. The North's official Korean Central News Agency said today (Friday) Kim gave the instruction while attending a recent rocket launch exercise. Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) released the following report Wednesday: Scientists and technicians of the DPRK successfully launched the second version of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 into its orbit by carrier rocket Unha-3, true to the last instructions of leader Kim Jong Il. On Thursday, North Korea test-fired two short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea in an apparent response to the ongoing huge-scale joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States.
However, the KCNA report failed to clarify whether Kim's instruction was made during Thursday's missile firing drill.
Meanwhile, South Korea says it is considering making a diplomatic response to North Korea's repeated violations of the U.N. resolutions which ban nuclear and missile tests.
Seoul government sources say the diplomatic measures would include sending a letter to ask a North Korea sanctions committee under the U.N. Security Council for probes into the Pyongyang regime's launch of the ballistic missiles.

North Korea′s leader Kim Jong－un claims the reclusive state has developed a hydrogen bomb... a step up from the less powerful atomic bomb.
He′s also declared that North Korea has become a nuclear weapons state.
Outside experts， however， are not convinced.
Why such dramatic statement by the North Korean leader now？ Our Kwon Soa has takes a shot at answering this question.
North Korea is in possession of a hydrogen bomb.
That′s what North Korean leader Kim Jong－un said，... according to Pyongyang′s state media Thursday.
The Korean Central News Agency said he made the remark during an inspection of an arms plant in Pyongyang.
He was quoted as saying North Korea has managed to become a great nuclear power capable of defending the independence and dignity of the state.
Experts say this is the first time Kim has ever mentioned a hydrogen bomb，... as opposed to his more frequent statements on the regime′s nuclear weapons capabilities.
With the H－bomb， they believe the North is merely in the early stages of development.
″The power of a hydrogen bomb is measured in megatons.
Even advanced countries do not possess them. It would also be difficult to test them so close to China... as they would have to do it underground，... but extremely deep，... so that′s also regarded as impossible.″
A government official said there′s no evidence on Pyongyang having developed nor having the technology to build an H－bomb，... adding Kim′s remarks seem to be words of rhetoric.
Some say，... it could be the opening gambit ahead of a round of high－level inter－Korean talks on Friday.
″The show of its military capabilities... could be an indirect way of pressuring South Korea... and a move to lead the talks.″
Professor Kim also said the move could be seen as a way to manipulate the media... or a gesture to start talks with the U.S. and the international community.
Although the existence of an H－bomb in North Korea leaves room for doubt，... the regime does appear to have made progress on its main missile launch site.
According to the U.S. website 38 North，... satellite imagery suggests construction of new propellant bunkers at a launch pad in the northwest of North Korea are close to completion.
38 North said this may indicate the end of a three－year program to upgrade the site，... which could mean Pyongyang could be ready to launch larger rockets by early next year.

Scientists and technicians of the DPRK successfully launched the second version of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 into its orbit by carrier rocket Unha-3, true to the last instructions of leader Kim Jong Il.
Carrier rocket Unha-3 with the second version of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 atop blasted off from the Sohae Space Center in Cholsan County, North Phyongan Province at 09:49:46 on December 12, Juche 101(2012). The satellite entered its preset orbit at 09:59:13, 9 minutes and 27 seconds after the lift-off.
The satellite is going round the polar orbit at 499.7 km perigee altitude and 584.18 km apogee altitude at the angle of inclination of 97.4 degrees. Its cycle is 95 minutes and 29 seconds.
The scientific and technological satellite is fitted with survey and communications devices essential for the observation of the earth.
The successful launch of the satellite is a proud fruition of the Workers' Party of Korea's policy of attaching importance to the science and technology. It is also an event of great turn in developing the country's science, technology and economy by fully exercising the independent right to use space for peaceful purposes.
At a time when great yearnings and reverence for Kim Jong Il pervade the whole country, its scientists and technicians brilliantly carried out his behests to launch a scientific and technological satellite in 2012, the year marking the 100th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. -0-

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un attended the opening ceremony of a science technology complex on New Year's Day.
The country's state-run Korean Central News Agency reported Saturday that the "Sci-Tech Complex" opened Friday to help spread the latest science and technology developed by the ruling Workers' Party.
Kim,... who was joined by all of his senior aidesㅋ,... said the center would boost the regime's scientific prowess and lead a technological revolution.
The location of the center was not disclosed during the report.
The center's opening comes a matter of months before the Workers' Party plans to hold its first congress in more than three decades.
Kim Jong-un is expected to unveil North Korea's new policies and conduct a major reshuffle,... which may include reinstating demoted military officials.

Our Connie Kim has more on the latest indicator that the regime's looking to overhaul its flagging financial system.
Is North Korea feeling the need for an overall restructure of its financial system to coincide with economic development?
The Korea Central News Agency reported on Thursday that panels of the financial bank conference paid their respects to the late leaders Kim Jong-il and Kim Il-sung at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun,... suggesting the opening of the conference is nearing.
The convention will gather representatives from the banking sector to discuss the regime's financial system.
The exact date, location and size of the conference have not been announced... but it will be the first in 25 years and the first under Kim Jong-un's rule.
The re-establishment of North Korea's financial system is inevitable, experts say with North Korea's economy expanding especially under the young leader's reign.
"Exchanges with China, giving incentives to farms to produce more and allowing more autonomy to small companies have led to improvement in the regime's economy."
Looking at the figures, North Korea logged an economic growth rate of below one-percent in 2011, and the numbers stood in the one-percent range in the following years since Kim's inauguration.
Adding weight to the argument that Pyongyang needs improved banking systems, 80-percent of North Koreans are reported to engage in economic activities through buying and selling at markets under the regime.
Analysts in Seoul also suggest the conference is part of Pyongyang's economic development plan to establish a firm financial base for building infrastructure after a rare party congress in May.

Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- Servicepersons of the three services of the Korean People's Army met at the Kumsusan Memorial Palace, the sacred temple of Juche, on Feb. 16 to make public a joint decision on renaming the palace the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, pay respects to Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and Generalissimo Kim Jong Il and pledge loyalty to KPA Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un.
The dear respected Kim Jong Un took part in the meeting.
Kim Yong Nam, Choe Yong Rim, Ri Yong Ho, Kim Kyong Hui, Kim Yong Chun, Kim Jong Gak, senior party, state and army officials, commanders of the KPA services and arms, officials of the party, armed forces, power bodies, social organizations, ministries and national institutions, men and officers of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials in the fields of science, education, culture and arts, public health and media, persons of distinguished services and labor innovators also attended.
Present there on invitation were overseas Koreans including the delegation of the Koreans in Japan for commemorating the Day of the Shining Star and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, diplomatic envoys and representatives of international organizations and members of military attaches corps here.
They observed a moment's silence for Kim Jong Il.
A joint decision of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea, the DPRK National Defence Commission, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet was made public to rename the Kumsusan Memorial Palace the "Kumsusan Palace of the Sun".
A ceremony of the service persons of the three services of the KPA followed.
All the participants paid highest respects to the portrait of smiling Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and the portrait of smiling Generalissimo Kim Jong Il, the founder and builder of the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK.
A 21 gun-salute boomed amid the playing of "Song of General Kim Il Sung" and "Song of General Kim Jong Il".
Chief of KPA General Staff Ri Yong Ho, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK, made an address.

Kim Yong Nam, Choe Yong Rim, Ri Yong Ho, Kim Kyong Hui, Kim Yong Chun, Kim Jong Gak, senior party, state and army officials, commanders of the KPA services and arms, officials of the party, armed forces, power bodies, social organizations, ministries and national institutions, men and officers of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials in the fields of science, education, culture and arts, public health and media, persons of distinguished services and labor innovators also attended.
Present there on invitation were overseas Koreans including the delegation of the Koreans in Japan for commemorating the Day of the Shining Star and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, diplomatic envoys and representatives of international organizations and members of military attaches corps here.
They observed a moment's silence for Kim Jong Il.
A joint decision of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea, the DPRK National Defence Commission, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet was made public to rename the Kumsusan Memorial Palace the "Kumsusan Palace of the Sun".
A ceremony of the service persons of the three services of the KPA followed.
All the participants paid highest respects to the portrait of smiling Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and the portrait of smiling Generalissimo Kim Jong Il, the founder and builder of the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK.
A 21 gun-salute boomed amid the playing of "Song of General Kim Il Sung" and "Song of General Kim Jong Il".

צפון קוריאה הודיעה לפנות בוקר (רביעי) כי היא ערכה הלילה לראשונה ניסוי מוצלח בפצצת מימן. הודעה דומה התקבלה מדרום קוריאה ויפן, שמסרו כי ייתכן שפיונגיאנג ערכה ניסוי גרעיני. לאחר הכרזתה של פיונגיאנג נמסר מהאו"ם כי מועצת הביטחון תערוך היום פגישת חירום בנושא כדי לדון בנושא. אם הצהרתה של צפון קוריאה תתברר כנכונה, צפוי האו"ם להטיל סנקציות חדשות על המדינה הקומוניסטית.
זמן קצר לפני הודעתה של פיונגיאנג, דיווחה דרום קוריאה על "רעידת אדמה מלאכותית" בעוצמה 5.1, שזוהתה סמוך לאתר ניסויים גרעיניים בחלקה הצפון-מזרחי של המדינה המסוגרת. "אנחנו חושדים כי זוהי רעידת אדמה מעשה-אדם ואנחנו בוחנים את העוצמה ואת מוקד הרעש", אמר נציג רשמי בשירות המטאורולוגי של דרום קוריאה.

A high－ranking North Korean official in charge of relations with South Korea has died in a traffic accident.
That′s according to the North′s state media earlier this Wednesday... and it′s casting doubts over the prospects of inter－Korean relations.
Arirang′s unification ministry correspondent Connie Kim has a brief run down of the death of Kim Yang－gon.
Kim Yang－gon， a high－ranking North Korean official in charge of inter－Korean affairs， died in a car accident in the early hours of Tuesday.
Kim′s death was reported Wednesday by North Korea′s Korean Central News Agency.
″Kim Yang－gon， Secretary of the ruling Workers′ Party of Korea passed away on December 29th at 6：15 a.m. at the age of 73 from a car accident.″
The North′s state news agency also said Kim Jong－un will lead a state funeral for the deceased on Thursday.
No further details were released.
Kim Yang－gon was a secretary of the ruling Workers′ Party of Korea and a member of the party′s Central Committee Politbureau.
But he was perhaps best known as the head of the North′s United Front Department， which handles inter－Korean affairs.
He played a key role in pulling the two Koreas back from the brink of conflict after North Korea′s landmine explosion near the inter－Korean border in August.
Seoul′s unification ministry offered its condolences on Wednesday.
″The government has offered its condolences for the death of Kim， who contributed to a meaningful agreement at the August talks.″

It was the first time in eight years for the unification ministry to express condolences over the death of a North Korean official in a message by the minister.

Kim Yang-Gon, North Korea's point man in handling inter-Korean affairs, has been killed in a traffic accident. He was 73.
North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency reported that Kim, who the news agency described as the closest "comrade" of leader Kim Jong-Un and was "respected" by North Koreans, died in an accident which took place early Tuesday morning.
The KCNA report does not give any further details of the accident.
Born in 1942, Kim Yang-Gon joined North Korea's almighty Workers' Party in the 1980s and took his current post as the director of the United Front Department of the ruling party in 2007. He was the Pyongyang regime's point man to the South.
He has since taken part in many rounds of landmark inter-Korean dialogues, including the two Korean leaders' summit talks, as a key member of the North Korean delegations.
Meanwhile, the KCNA also reported the list of members of the committee to organize the state funeral service for Kim Yang-Gon, which involved Choe Ryong-Hae, who once was regarded as the second most powerful man in the North.
Choe has not been seen in state media since October, prompting speculations by North Korea watchers that he was purged by Kim Jong-Un, known to have placed his communist state under the reign of terror.
Seoul officials see Choe's involvement in the funeral organizing committee members' list as his possible reinstatement.

The Korea Central News Agency reported on Thursday that panels of the financial bank conference paid their respects to the late leaders Kim Jong-il and Kim Il-sung at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun,... suggesting the opening of the conference is nearing.
The convention will gather representatives from the banking sector to discuss the regime's financial system.
The exact date, location and size of the conference have not been announced... but it will be the first in 25 years and the first under Kim Jong-un's rule.
The re-establishment of North Korea's financial system is inevitable, experts say with North Korea's economy expanding especially under the young leader's reign.
"Exchanges with China, giving incentives to farms to produce more and allowing more autonomy to small companies have led to improvement in the regime's economy."
Looking at the figures, North Korea logged an economic growth rate of below one-percent in 2011, and the numbers stood in the one-percent range in the following years since Kim's inauguration.
Adding weight to the argument that Pyongyang needs improved banking systems, 80-percent of North Koreans are reported to engage in economic activities through buying and selling at markets under the regime.
Analysts in Seoul also suggest the conference is part of Pyongyang's economic development plan to establish a firm financial base for building infrastructure after a rare party congress in May.

Pyongyang, 1997 July 10 (KCNA) -- A party provided by Secretary Kim Jong Il for overseas Koreans was given at the Moknan House on Wednesday on the occasion of the third death anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. Present there were Kim Yong Sun, Chairman of the Reunification Policy Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly and Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, members of the memorial delegation of Koreans in Japan headed by Han Tok Su, Chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), and other overseas Koreans' delegations, home-visiting groups and other compatriots. Speaking at the party, Kim Yong Sun said that Secretary Kim Jong Il spent the last three years devoting his heart and soul to the President's immortality. The ardent desire of the Korean people for the immortality of the President has been realized under the guidance of the general, the supreme incarnation of loyalty and filial piety, he noted. Then followed speeches of So Man Sul, Vice-Chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Choe Hong Hui, President of the International Taekwondo Federation, Rim Min Sik, Secretary General of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon) and Director of the Secretariat of the Overseas Headquarters of Pomminryon, Yang Yong Dong, Chairman of the Federation of Korean Nationals in China, Jong Il Sim, a Korean resident in Russia, Choe Jong Ryol, a Korean Resident in the United States, and other overseas Koreans. The speakers said that only when the great general is upheld, will the President be immortal and the nation prosper for all ages. They expressed the determination of overseas compatriots to defend the general at the risk of their lives in the same spirit and the same stamina with the people in the homeland at all times, and to remain loyal and devoted to him in one mind come what may, in the belief that they will win as guided by him. The President will be alive in the hearts of the Korean nation as the eternal father and leader as ever, they said, adding: "The future of the country and the nation will be brighter as guided by general Kim Jong Il, who is identical to President Kim Il Sung." They vowed to successfully discharge their noble mission to reunify the country as soon as possible as the President wished.

Pyongyang, 2012 December 3 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il was a peerless sage of mankind, possessed with warm humanity, broad magnanimity and noble sense of moral obligation.
In his lifetime, he had shown deep love for those who value justice and aspire after independence, irrespective of their party affiliations, political view and religious faith.
One of them was Choe Hong Hui, president of the International Taekwon-Do Federation.
Choe served as an army general in south Korea and, later, left there to live in exile, standing against its regime. But he was seized with sense of guilty for his past careers.
When he visited Pyongyang, Kim Jong Il heartily received and discussed with him the matters of further developing Taekwon-Do. Valuing his national conscience and reunification desire above anything else, the leader encouraged Choe to make contribution to national reunification with Taekwon-Do.
In October Juche 89 (2000), he met Choe again in Pyongyang and had a photo session with him, which was a lifelong memory for Choe. He also satisfied Choe's desire to set up the headquarters of the International Martial Art Games Commission in Pyongyang.
When Choe died of incurable disease, the leader took a measure to hold his funeral service ceremoniously. He suggested burying Choe's remains at the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery and sent a wreath to it.
Kim Jong Il's loving care made his name remain in the memory of the nation.

Pyongyang, 1997 July 10 (KCNA) -- A party provided by Secretary Kim Jong Il for overseas Koreans was given at the Moknan House on Wednesday on the occasion of the third death anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. Present there were Kim Yong Sun, Chairman of the Reunification Policy Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly and Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, members of the memorial delegation of Koreans in Japan headed by Han Tok Su, Chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), and other overseas Koreans' delegations, home-visiting groups and other compatriots. Speaking at the party, Kim Yong Sun said that Secretary Kim Jong Il spent the last three years devoting his heart and soul to the President's immortality. The ardent desire of the Korean people for the immortality of the President has been realized under the guidance of the general, the supreme incarnation of loyalty and filial piety, he noted. Then followed speeches of So Man Sul, Vice-Chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Choe Hong Hui, President of the International Taekwondo Federation, Rim Min Sik, Secretary General of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon) and Director of the Secretariat of the Overseas Headquarters of Pomminryon, Yang Yong Dong, Chairman of the Federation of Korean Nationals in China, Jong Il Sim, a Korean resident in Russia, Choe Jong Ryol, a Korean Resident in the United States, and other overseas Koreans. The speakers said that only when the great general is upheld, will the President be immortal and the nation prosper for all ages. They expressed the determination of overseas compatriots to defend the general at the risk of their lives in the same spirit and the same stamina with the people in the homeland at all times, and to remain loyal and devoted to him in one mind come what may, in the belief that they will win as guided by him. The President will be alive in the hearts of the Korean nation as the eternal father and leader as ever, they said, adding: "The future of the country and the nation will be brighter as guided by general Kim Jong Il, who is identical to President Kim Il Sung." They vowed to successfully discharge their noble mission to reunify the country as soon as possible as the President wished.

Pyongyang, 2002 June 17 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il sent a wreath to the bier of Choe Hong Hui, president of the International Taekwon-do Federation, on June 16, expressing deep condolences over his death.
