Description:
Also known as the Land Down Under, or OZ, the island nation of Australia captivates the imagination of travellers thanks to its history, people and natural beauty. Sure a significant part of Australia’s birth was thanks to the prison colonies that were established for convicts of the British Empire – but today it’s much more than that. Ayers Rock, the Great Barrier Reef and the sprawling Outback have all become symbols of the country’s diverse habitats and are all popular destinations for tourists who flock there every year. Not into the natural beauty? Australia also has some iconic man-made landmarks, including the world famous Sydney Opera House, which are known by people all over the world.
Thanks to films like Crocodile Dundee and the nature specials of Steve Irwin, people not from Australia also know that down under there are some pretty bizarre and dangerous animals. In fact, when you consider animals like the kangaroo or duckbilled platypus, it seems like Mother Nature packed all her strangest creations onto Australia. Yes, there are dangerous animals everywhere in the world but pound for pound, Australia seems to have the biggest share of sharks, spiders, snakes and other deadly creatures that walk the earth. Why would anyone choose to live in a place inhabited by so many lethal animals? To be honest, most aren’t common and people have adapted to living with some of the more common creatures that they happen to cross paths with.

How can the colour blue be a feeling?
Well, it’s hard to describe.
But it is.
You see, it’s different down here.
The air just has more life in it.
Sounds touch you.
And the light fills you up somehow.
Yeah, it’s a place that stays with you.
And sometimes, if you’re lucky, it stays forever.
Because Australia isn’t just a place you see…
It’s a place you feel.

Gold Coast is a coastal city in southeastern Queensland on the east coast of Australia. It is the second most populous city in the state, the sixth most populous city in the country, and the most populous non-capital city in Australia. The Gold Coast has the largest cross-state metropolitan area population in Australia, due to the inclusion of Tweed Heads, New South Wales in its metropolitan area. The Gold Coast's metropolitan area converges with that of Greater Brisbane, forming part of an urban conurbation of over 3 million people.
The most important places to visit in Gold Coast are: Surfer's Paradise Beach, Southern Cross 4WD Tours, Burleigh Heads National Park, Cheers Tavern, Gihooley's Irish Pub, Howl at the Moon, Liars Bar Broadbeach Tavern, Mybar, Wintersun, Melba's On The Park, and many more.
This video offers a lot of tips to help you plan the perfect vacation. If you want to save time and money, the most important Gold Coast travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

Description:
Australia is a special country of its own. It is about the size of the United States and is larger than the United Kingdom and all the countries in Europe put together. Originally founded as a drop-off place for convicts, Australia has grown from its roots into a thriving country that has a booming tourism industry. Before there were convicts, Australia was home to the Aboriginal and Indigenous people, the oldest culture in the world. Not only do you have an English history, but also a tribal history that anthropologists continue to study today and have only skimmed the surface in regards to Australia’s rich history. But since its founding and development into a respected country, the quirky side of the Aussie nation has surfaced. But instead of shying tourists away from the land down under, it has actually attracted more visitors and has done wonders for the tourism industry.
For example, the sport of Frisbee may be seen as a nice picnic or beach day activity, but in Australia, they take the sport very seriously. In fact, Australia has three national teams dedicated to the sport and there are thousands of hobby teams all over, with members who have dreams of becoming a professional Frisbee player.
If you have a fear of spiders or snakes, it might be best to enjoy Australia from afar. The country is home to 20 out of the 25 most poisonous snakes in the world, and they have over 200 different species of the terrifying reptile. But this is all part of a day in the life of an Aussie. Did we mention that over half of these snake species are part of the cobra family? Yikes. Also, if you are an arachnophobia, you’ll have to figure out a way to manage your fear before hopping on that plane. Not only does Australia have a lot of spiders, but they are also huge with leg spans of half a foot.
Australia is also home to 150 million sheep and 40 million kangaroos, which grossly outweighs the human population of 20 million. So you basically have more animals than people. Sheep provide a great source of economic abundance with cotton and kangaroos, well, are stereotypical Australian tourist attractions that people occasionally eat. The country also hosts the largest dingo fence. A dingo being a dog-wolf hybrid that is notorious for attacking and killing livestock and even humans.
Australians are known for their quirky accents, they love of alcohol (ever heard of Beer Fridays?), and their sense of humor. In fact, there is a running joke that all Australians are in on, and that is the legend of the drop bear. The drop bear is rumored to be a giant koala that has razor sharp teeth and claws, and attack their victims by dropping on the heads of tourists from the trees. Of course, there’s really no such thing, but Aussies have made it an art to convince tourists otherwise, all the while enjoying laughs of the fearful visitors.
There are more weird things where that came from! Just take a peek at the video.

Adelaide, Australia, is one of the nation’s most striking cities. Situated over the River Torrens and overlooking the Gulf of St. Vincent, Adelaide is the perfect combination of big-city living and outdoor beauty.
Start out your Adelaide sightseeing by watching the sunrise at the beach, followed by a cup of tea or coffee at one of the many cafes around Victoria Square. The square is the heart of the city grid, and from there you can easily walk to some of Adelaide’s most striking 19th-century buildings. The nearby St. Francis Xavier Cathedral towers over Wakefield Street, and the Adelaide Central Market is a wonderful place to find fresh produce.
Just a few blocks north of Victoria Square is the South Australian Museum, where you can learn about the region’s history—both European and the cultures that predated them. From there, get outside and see some of the city’s natural charms. Residents are well aware of their beautiful surroundings, and Adelaide tours often include the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. This local point of pride is an exquisite collection of flora and fauna interspersed with fountains and walking trails.
When you’re ready to give your taste buds a treat, head for Barossa Valley, about 50 miles northeast of Adelaide. This is one of Australia’s oldest winemaking regions, and you can sample one of its legendary Rieslings. Pick up some groceries at one of the Barossa markets, purchase a bottle of wine at one of the vineyards, and pick a spot in this valley for the perfect picnic.
What was your favorite part of Adelaide?

Purpose built as Australia’s capital city, Canberra is a 3-hour drive from both the snowy mountains and the beautiful beaches of New South Wales. It is a city which honors Australia’s past and shapes its future.
With an expansive bush beauty, a relaxed attitude and colorful events, Canberra is far more than a political capital. Designed for a young nation that was just finding its feet, this city is home to many of the country's most important stories; stories that have come to define what it means to be Australian.
At the heart of Canberra’s creation story is Lake Burley Griffin. A long-standing rivalry between Sydney and Melbourne meant that neither one could be the nation’s capital. Instead, in 1911, the government launched an international design competition seeking a master plan for a brand new city.
The victor, Chicago architect Walter Burley Griffin, won with a garden city design focused on a man-made lake which fits perfectly within the landscape.
When, the nation’s Governor General stood in a dusty paddock in 1913 and announced the name of the new capital, he told the nation that the city had, lying before it, a splendid destiny.
Over 100 years later, that destiny has been fulfilled in a city that preserves the great chapters of Australia’s history and continues to write the future pages of the nation’s story.

https://www.expedia.com/Melbourne.d178283.Destination-Travel-Guides
The scent of roasting coffee beans wafts through the air in Melbourne, Australia. This city is serious about its coffee, and if you’re game, you can base an entire Melbourne tour around sampling the offerings from local cafés.
If you’re looking for a little more than a caffeine buzz from your Melbourne sightseeing, you’re in luck. Melbourne sits on the banks of the Yarra River, and you’ve got your pick of cathedrals, parks, and giant buildings to explore, as well as an extensive streetcar network to help you get from one place to the next. Ready for a delicious meal? Take the tram to the Southbank neighborhood, where you can enjoy lunch at a café along the riverfront.
Melbourne’s locals love art, and the inner city laneways are jammed with street artists painting over the external walls of buildings. Don’t worry; these artists have a permit and are sanctioned by the city. You can spend hours examining the artwork and talking to the artists about their inspiration, and then follow it up with a trip to Queen Victoria Market. You’ll find hundreds of stalls here devoted to selling delicious fresh produce, local crafts, and yes, more coffee. We hope you like caffeine.
Cap off the day with a little bit of history when you visit Luna Park™. This theme park, established in 1912, features one of the world’s oldest roller coasters and a number of additional vintage rides. Just make sure you let your lunch settle before you ride—the old coaster really gets rolling!
What will you do in Melbourne?

Welcome to Darwin, the capital of Australia’s Northern Territory.
Also known as “The Top End,” Darwin perches on the Timor Sea, giving it striking views of the ocean. Due to its distance from other Australian cities, it is somewhat isolated, leading to a real sense of small-town community despite its status as a large city. Get a taste of this community during your Darwin tour by stopping at the Mindil Beach Markets; on Thursdays and Sundays, you can run into almost half the city as residents turn out to shop at the various vendors and devour local multicultural cuisine.
Your Darwin sightseeing will likely take you to the Darwin Museum and Art Gallery, which is full of Australian culture and artwork. After that, get outdoors at Crocadylys Park, which is filled with Darwin’s legendary salt and freshwater crocodiles. The Darwin region is home to over 20 national parks, so you can get a taste of the Australian outback without venturing too far from civilization. Locals will also suggest you stop by Litchfield National Park—with its swimming holes and magnificent forested gorges, this area a favorite destination for many Darwinians. If you’re visiting during the hot season, join the party at Buley Rockholes, several pools of water surrounding the beautiful Florence Falls.
All this exploration is bound to make you hungry, so head back to Darwin for dinner and a comfortable place to sleep. Grab a drink at a pub, swap stories with fellow travelers, and head home for a good night’s sleep before your next day of adventure.
What was your favorite part of Darwin?

Simak Ini…

PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Shane WatsonPLAYER OF THE SERIES
Virat Kohli
It's time to say goodbye now. This is Sidhant Maheshwari, signing off on behalf of Abhishek, Bharath, Naga and my co-commentators, Raju Peethala, Ramakrishnan and Pradeep. Take care! So, what a series this has been! After losing the first four contests of the ODI series, India have come back strongly to win four in a row now. Not sure when was the last time a visiting side was as dominant as India during the entire T20I series. There are a lot of positives for MS Dhoni's men, especially in the bowling department. Australia, on the other hand, are yet to find their right combination. They'll have to do so quickly though as the World T20 is just a little more than a month away. For now, the hosts will travel to New Zealand to take part in a 3-match ODI series, that will be followed by a 2-match Test series as well. On the other hand, India will next play Sri Lanka in a 3-match T20I series at home.Dhoni collects the trophy and his team-mates also join him in celebrations. They all look extremely delighted while posing for the shutterbugs. The Indians then go for a walk around the ground to thank their supportersDhoni: I think I will give a lot of credit to the bowlers. The batsmen were doing well in the ODI series as well. I think that's what has changed after the 4th ODI. The batsmen too have notched up 10 percent more, but the bowlers are the ones, who have done a fantastic job in this series. If everything goes well, this will be our side for the World T20. Maybe 2-3 changes because the conditions will be a little different in India. But mostly, it will almost stay the same for the World T20. We need those part timers, Yuvraj, Pandya and Raina. They give you the extra option with the ball and that gives us more depth as a side. Both (Kohli and Rohit) of them are playing really well and it's important for them to enjoy their cricket at the moment. There are times when you won't score many runs, it's bound to happen to everyone and that's why it's important for them to score as many as possible when they are in such good form.Watson: They're no doubt special (talking about the Indian batting). They showed it in the ODI series and now in the T20Is as well. They have got some really great world-class players, it's always difficult to beat them. I am just loving every minute of playing for Australia. I feel privileged to captain my country. It can be hectic at times, but it has been a lot of fun. I do enjoy batting at the top of the order. Initially, I could play well and then I took the momentum forward. Once we really solidify our combination for the World T20, we have got some world-class players as well, we should have a very successful tournament. We just need to get our team right.Shane Watson is the Man of the MatchKohli: It feels really special right now. We wanted to finish the tour on 4-4 and I am really happy with the way we finished the game. The credit goes to the whole team, everyone has played well. I was pretty disappointed when I got out because I wanted to finish the game today. It was great to see Yuvi and Raina finishing it for us, great to see them both performing like that and winning it for us. I have always said this before as well, I am a big fan of Rohit's batting. Everything is just so easy for him, he deserves a lot of credit, along with Shikhar Dhawan as well. I would like to think so (on being the favourites to win the World T20). We have a few more games before the World T20 and we would like to keep doing better.Virat Kohli is the Man of the SeriesWhat a magnificent end to the series for India! Considering they needed 17 runs off the final over, the pressure was on both Raina and Yuvi, who was batting for the first time in the series. And well, they have delivered. He smashed the first two balls for a four and six in the final over to bring the equation down to 7 needed from 4 balls. In the end, it was Raina, who hit the winning runs and finished with a 25-ball 49. Earlier, Rohit and Dhawan got India off to a rollicking start and the visitors raced away to 74/1 at the end of the powerplay. Kohli started where from he left off, notching up yet another fifty to make it three in a row this series. Even though both Rohit and Kohli got out soon after reaching their fifties, Raina and Yuvi held their nerves to take their team home. All those jokes about Yuvraj Singh not performing were also put to bed with those two glorious strikes in the final over. With this 3-0 series win, India have jumped from 8th position to the top of the ICC T20I rankings! This is also the second highest successful run-chase in a T20I against Australia. Stay tuned for the presentation.

In the most recent years Canada and Australia have become two of the biggest destination hot spots for Irish and British people who wish to work and travel. So, what’s it going to be Moose or Kangaroos? Hockey or Aussie Rules? This article will highlight the day to day living comparison between these two great countries.
Canada and Australia are two of the largest countries in the world, so if I were to do a comparison between every city and town in both countries you may be finished reading this article sometime next year. Instead I decided to pick the two main immigration/travel destinations, Toronto and Sydney.

CI investigates into two of the most infamous unsolved mysteries in Australian criminal history are examined in The Wanda Beach Murders and The Beaumont Children Mystery. In 1965, when Australian teenage culture was centred on sun, sand, and surf, the nation was shocked by the brutal bashing, rape and murder of two 15-year-old girls in the sand hills at Sydney's Wanda Beach.
A massive police hunt failed to find the killer but now, more than 40 years later, there is growing evidence that he could be a known psychotic murderer. A year later, on an Australia Day outing to a beach in Adelaide, three small children, Jane, Arnna, and Grant Beaumont, disappeared suddenly and without a trace. Were they abducted by the man seen playing with them at the beach, or were they buried in an accident, as claimed by a world-famous clairvoyant who was flown to Adelaide from Europe by the media and concerned local citizens" Are they still alive?

The populace expanded steadily in subsequent decades; the continent was discovered and an additional five independent crown swarms were established. World's Strictest Parents' first Australian family, the Ironsides, will be serving up a dose of discipline - outback style. Mark Ironside is a grazier and pastor of his local church. Together with wife Grace they run a remote cattle station west of Charleville, in outback Queensland.
Tearaway teens Nathan and Adriana will spend a week on the 40,000 acre property. The isolation will be tough for the teens, who are used to all the mod-cons of city living. "Many kids are shocked when they find out there's no phone reception," says Grace. "The isolation is a shock factor," adds Mark.
"When most teenagers come here they think they've come to the end of the earth. The back fence is 30 kilometres away so there's nowhere to run away to." The Ironsides limit their kids' access to the internet, movies and music. And they only receive Christian satellite TV channels. The couple are no strangers to troubled teens. They've been foster carers to so many kids over the years they've lost count. "We provide a stable, disciplined, loving environment. We say what we mean and mean what we say. But ultimately it's up to the children to decide if they want to change." The Ironsides are a traditional family who believe hard work and discipline is the key to good parenting. "We believe in corporal punishment, the stick or the wooden spoon," says Mark.
"And we have a rule here -- if you don't work, you don't eat." Their children -- Amy, 23, Elizabeth, 19, and Matthew, 13 -- describe their upbringing as "very, very strict." Failure to do homework is punished immediately with chores such as fencing, cleaning out the cattle dog pens and mowing the lawn. But the kids understand it's for their own good. "They have rules that protect you," says Elizabeth. There's also a strict no drinking, smoking or swearing policy in the Ironside household. "We are firm parents," Grace says. "We have certain moral standards in our house and there are consequences if rules are broken."

Quiet towns across rural Australia are in the grip of an Ice epidemic. Major international drug cartels are working with local outlawed motorcycle gangs to push crystal meth to a captive market of children.
"It's dark. It's scary. It's dirty... You don't eat, you don't sleep. Life's chaotic", says 19-year-old Aaron, a recovering Ice addict. Aaron began using Ice when he was 15 and soon got addicted to the enormous dopamine hit, unrivalled by any other drug. He explains how at his lowest point on the drug, "I tried to hang myself in my mum's shed". Aaron's story is not unique. In the last year 350,000 Australians have smoked, snorted or injected crystal methampehtamine, and the problem is getting worse. In a community of 4,000, one in ten are using the drug. "There's been reports of 10-year-olds presenting at the Emergency Department here", says one clinical nurse. Orphan Jake saw his fortunes turn when he was recruited to deal by a motorcycle gang when he was only 11-years-old. "It seemed like the best decision I ever made. It was like winning the lotto or getting a licence to print money", he says. In areas with a desperate lack of treatment facilities and under resourced or non-existent police, a generation is being condemned to a life of drug abuse and crime.
