Kenroku-en (兼六園, Six Attributes Garden), located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan, is an old private garden. Along with Kairaku-en and Koraku-en, Kenroku-en is one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan. The grounds are open year-round during daylight hours and famous for its beauty in all seasons; an admission fee is charged.
Kenroku-en was developed from the 1620s to the 1840s by the Maeda clan, the daimyo who ruled the former Kaga Domain.
While the date of initial development of the garden that would be become known as Kenrokuen is rather unclear, one version of the garden’s origins can perhaps be marked by the completion of the Tatsumi water channel in 1632 by Maeda Toshitsune the third daimyo of the powerful Maeda clan and ruler of the Kaga domain from 1605 to1639, as this feature would be later incorporated into creating the garden's twisting waterways in 1822.
Conversely, other versions of the garden’s inception “is said to have originated when the 5th Lord Tsunanori [r. 1645–1723] built [in 1676] the Renchiochin house on the slope facing the [Kanazawa] castle, and gave its garden the name Renchitei”, also spelled Renchi-tei, which means “lotus pond”.

---- Note : This video replace the previous uploaded version which came with a small typo in its opening title. Sorry for the inconvenience -- Ishikawa Kenroku-En Garden - 兼六園 : Kenroku-En is, according to many specialists, one of Japan’s “three most beautiful gardens! Located just in front of Kanazawa Castle, Kenroku-En, was constructed by the ruling Maeda family in 1620 and opened to the public in 1871. The name Kenroku-En literally means, “the garden of six sublimities”, or one that combines the six aspects of a perfect garden. This ‘measurement’ is based on Chinese gardening tradition and includes : spaciousness, seclusion, artifice, antiquity, water-courses and panoramas. Beautiful all year long, it is however during the sakura (Spring) and koyo (Autumn) seasons that Kenroku-En is t...
I'd never heard of Kenroku-en prior to coming to Japan, but it's really popular among Japanese people. This was not my first trip here, but it was Tom Cruise's first visit, yes. Anyway, we had only about an hour with the guides poking us around, so it wasn't all that nice. -- Personal advice disclaimer effective -- this is just my humble opinion, and IMHO it's a really nice place IF you have a day (or maybe an afternoon) to walk around with no hurry. Then there'd be enough time to take all the pictures you want and then really enjoy the park: walk around slowly, have some real Macha (抹茶), sit down at a nice spot and just let the calmness crawl in. -- Personal advice disclaimer no longer effective -- Kenroku-en (兼六園, Six Attributes Garden), located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan, is a...

► Kenrokuen Garden is regarded as one of Japan's three most beautiful landscape gardens, covering an area of 11.4 hectares located on the heights of Cental Kanazawa, next to Kanazawa Castle. There is a stone lantern designed in the image of a Japanese koto (*harp) by the pond, this has become the symbol of Kenrokuen. The grounds has plenty of water features, bridges, teahouses, trees, flowers, stones, viewpoints and hidden paths to discover. It's an amazing garden, and clearly a lot of attention has been put into every little detail there. I can't promise I won't upload a "white winter version" of this one in the future. - Enjoy!
- One of Japan's Three Most Beautiful Gardens Kenrokuen Garden is a beautiful Japanese garden with an area of 11.4 hectares located on the heights of the central part of Kanazawa and next to Kanazawa Castle. The Maeda family, who ruled the Kaga Clan (the present Ishikawa and Toyama areas) in feudal times, maintained the garden from generation to generation. From its scale and beauty, it is regarded as one of the most beautiful feudal lords' gardens in Japan.

・小立野(大学病院前) Kodatsuno(In front of Kanazawa University Hospital) 北陸地方の医学部では有名格の金沢大医学部のある宝町キャンパス前。
・合同庁舎前 Goudouchosya-mae(Kanazawa-Hirosaka joint government building) 国税局や農政局が入る金沢広坂合同庁舎前。
