Just a montage of videos I put together from our recent trip to Oahu Hawaii. Watch this video and go on 5 minute vacation. We really didnt do anything touris...
Hawaii's capital is located on the island of O'ahu. If you are traveling to Oahu Hawaii and are looking for a little adventure here are somethings for you to do. Filmed with GoPro Hero 4 Silver.
Things to do in Oahu Hawaii -
1.) Lanikai Beach- Beautiful clear water with 2 small islands in your front view making you wonder what lays ahead.If your up for an adventure rent a kayak and see for yourself. My friends and I rented a kayak and paddled out to Mokulua Island.
2.) Mokulua Islands- Kayaking from Lanikai Beach, the waves push you onto shore.You have 2 options, walk around the left side of the island or walk around the right side of the island. If you want a safer experience the left side is where most people go. We did not know that at the time, so unknowingly we walked along the right side. Oh boy did we have an adventure. There was a small tide pool that was breathtaking with the huge ocean just behind you. We decided to keep exploring, there was a channel of water with crashing waves blocking us from continuing to walk. We passed along when the waves were not crashing. We walked along a small ridge holding onto the rocks for support when waves came crashing. The waves were HUGE hugging our shoulders as they crashed down. I was honestly scared for my life!
3.) Crouching Lion Hike- In my opinion a perfect hike! The trail has incredible and unique views. It takes only 30-40 minutes to hike to the top. Keep in mind this hike is pretty steep and can be quiet challenging for some. This hike has no defined entrance so starting off can make you question if your actually on the trail or not.
4.) Hanauma Bay- Great place to snorkel! It is full of colorful coral. The fish look animated! This bay was formed by a volcano crater.
5.) Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail- Prepare yourself with this hike. It is a very long hike so bring lots of water. There are a few waterfalls you can stop at to cool off.
6.) Waimea Bay Beach- Loved this beach! If the tide is calm enough you can jump off some of the rocks.
7.) Waikiki Beach- World famous beach and tourist attraction. Catch a sailboat ride and cruise the ocean.
8.) Honolulu- Hawaii's capital. It's loaded with hotels, shops, restaurants and bars.

Oahu /oʊˈɑːhuː/ or Oʻahu (pronounced [oˈʔɐhu] in Hawaiian), known as "The Gathering Place", is the third largest of the Hawaiian Islands and the most populous of the islands in the U.S. state of Hawaii. The state capital, Honolulu, is on Oahu's southeast coast. Including small close-in offshore islands such as Ford Island and the islands in Kaneohe Bay and off the eastern (windward) coast, it has a total land area of 596.7 square miles (1,545.4 km2), making it the 20th largest island in the United States. In the greatest dimension, this volcanic island is 44 miles (71 km) long and 30 miles (48 km) across. The length of the shoreline is 227 miles (365 km). The island is the result of two separate shield volcanoes: Waiʻanae and Koʻolau, with a broad "valley" or saddle (the central Oʻahu Plain) between them. The highest point is Mt. Ka'ala in the Waiʻanae Range, rising to 4,003 feet (1,220 m) above sea level.
The island is home to about 953,207 people (approximately 75% of the resident population of the state, with approximately 75% of those living on the "city" side of the island). Oʻahu has for a long time been known as "The Gathering Place". However, the term Oʻahu has no confirmed meaning in Hawaiian, other than that of the place itself. Ancient Hawaiian tradition attributes the name's origin in the legend of Hawaiʻiloa, the Polynesian navigator credited with discovery of the Hawaiian Islands. The story relates that he named the island after a son.

Hawaii's capital is located on the island of O'ahu. If you are traveling to Oahu Hawaii and are looking for a little adventure here are somethings for you to do. Filmed with GoPro Hero 4 Silver.
Things to do in Oahu Hawaii -
1.) Lanikai Beach- Beautiful clear water with 2 small islands in your front view making you wonder what lays ahead.If your up for an adventure rent a kayak and see for yourself. My friends and I rented a kayak and paddled out to Mokulua Island.
2.) Mokulua Islands- Kayaking from Lanikai Beach, the waves push you onto shore.You have 2 options, walk around the left side of the island or walk around the right side of the island. If you want a safer experience the left side is where most people go. We did not know that at the time, so unknowingly we walked along the right side. Oh boy did we have an adventure. There was a small tide pool that was breathtaking with the huge ocean just behind you. We decided to keep exploring, there was a channel of water with crashing waves blocking us from continuing to walk. We passed along when the waves were not crashing. We walked along a small ridge holding onto the rocks for support when waves came crashing. The waves were HUGE hugging our shoulders as they crashed down. I was honestly scared for my life!
3.) Crouching Lion Hike- In my opinion a perfect hike! The trail has incredible and unique views. It takes only 30-40 minutes to hike to the top. Keep in mind this hike is pretty steep and can be quiet challenging for some. This hike has no defined entrance so starting off can make you question if your actually on the trail or not.
4.) Hanauma Bay- Great place to snorkel! It is full of colorful coral. The fish look animated! This bay was formed by a volcano crater.
5.) Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail- Prepare yourself with this hike. It is a very long hike so bring lots of water. There are a few waterfalls you can stop at to cool off.
6.) Waimea Bay Beach- Loved this beach! If the tide is calm enough you can jump off some of the rocks.
7.) Waikiki Beach- World famous beach and tourist attraction. Catch a sailboat ride and cruise the ocean.
8.) Honolulu- Hawaii's capital. It's loaded with hotels, shops, restaurants and bars.

The NOT So Good Hikers had hiked the Power Line Trail a couple of years ago. Not too much is written about the Power Line Trail nor are there many videos on YouTube. We can sum up our experience on the Power Line by saying “unstable and eroded slippery surfaces when wet makes it not the safest of hikes.” On our first visit to Power Line a couple of years back there was minimal rope. Today rope is abundant and very welcome to provide some assurance just in case you should lose your footing. The Power Line Trail eventually intersects the Tripler Ridge which is a more predictable and stable surface to hike on.
Visiting the Haiku Stairs is always a treat but we notice a lot more trash up in the CCL building which is a shame. If you bring it in please pack it out. If you are able to hike up to the stairs from the Moanalua Valley side from any of the trails, traversing the landslide damaged section should not be a problem for you if you are careful. At the time of our visit the stairway base seems to be embedded into the ground and the damage is primarily to the railings and some of the steps.
Please don't take our videos as the "gospel" since hiking trails can change from what you see in the video. We make no claim to their accuracy or safety so Hike at YOUR OWN RISK. Play it safe and do your own research before embarking on any hike so you become familiar with what to expect. Know your limits and remember that there is no shame in having to turn back; we have turned back and not completed hikes before. This is a better choice than getting hurt or seriously lost while hiking.
