LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Why waste time, money for uneeded hospital name change

Editor, I have read numerous opinions lately concerning the name change for our local hospital, almost all of them negative. In the 38 years since returning to my childhood hometown, Whidbey “General Hospital” has served as a beacon for those seeking a variety of healthcare services. Necessity and confusion seem to be key issues regarding the change of name. Are you serious? Has anybody really gotten confused over where medical services on Whidbey Island can be found? LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Assuming too much, thinking too little

Editor, Consider Donald Trump. His loud speeches contain no hint of how he would mobilize or alter government to reach his ends. History 80 years ago demonstrates how a dramatic figure can mobilize his own cohort to take action, especially given wild public approbation. Deporting 12 million Mexicans need not tax the United States military. Trump volunteers can be easily mobilized via Twitter. He could claim he was saving the taxpayers “massive” amounts of money.
