The true story of Alexander the Great (king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon and a member of the Argead dynasty) and the Macedonian Empire, which introduced the Hellenistic Age of ancient Greek civilization. Alexander the Great, king of Macedon, 356 BCE - 323 BCE: "Your ancestors came to Macedonia and the rest of Greece and did us great harm, though we had done them no prior injury. I have been appointed leader of the Greeks, and wanting to punish the Persians I have come to Asia, which I took from you."
(Alexander's letter to Persian king Darius in response to a truce plea, as quoted in "Anabasis Alexandri" by Roman historian Arrian, Book 2.14.4, Greek original: “οἱ ὑμέτεροι πρόγονοι ἐλθόντες εἰς Μακεδονίαν καὶ εἰς τὴν ἄλλην Ἑλλάδα κακῶς ἐποίησαν ἡμᾶς οὐδὲν προηδικημένοι: ἐγὼ δὲ τῶν Ἑλλήνων ἡγεμὼν κατασταθεὶς καὶ τιμωρήσασθαι βουλόμενος Πέρσας διέβην ἐς τὴν Ἀσίαν, ὑπαρξάντων ὑμῶν.” http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/text?doc=Arr.+An.+2.14.4&fromdoc;=Perseus%3Atext%3A2008.01.0530)
"We must remember too that Philip and Alexander were Greeks, descended from Heracles, wished to be recognised as Greeks, as benefactors of the Greeks, even as Heracles had been." (Nicholas Hammond, British scholar and expert on Macedon, 'Alexander the Great', p.257)
“Afterwards he [Alexander] revived his father's League of Corinth, and with it his plan for a pan-Hellenic invasion of Asia to punish the Persians for the suffering of the Greeks, especially the Athenians, in the Greco-Persian Wars and to liberate the Greek cities of Asia Minor.”
(Victor Davis Hanson, “Makers of Ancient Strategy: From the Persian Wars to the Fall of Rome”, Princeton University Press, 2012, p.119)
"They (ancient Macedonians) felt as Greeks, and they had no temptation to destroy what they claimed was their mother country. They had clearly no wish to swallow up Greece in Macedonia, but rather to make Macedonia, as a Greek state, the ruling power of Greece. Such was undoubtedly the aim of Philip and Alexander too."
(Theodore Ayrault Dodge, military historian, “Alexander”, p.187)
"His [Philip's] course seems to have been directed towards the establishment of stability in Greece, not conquest."
(Eugene Borza, “Shadows of Olympus”, p.230)
"Philip II of Macedon was anxious to pacify and unify Greeks at any cost."
(Encyclopedia of Ancient Greece, Routledge, 2006)
“In the end, the Greeks would fall under the rule of a single man, who would unify Greece: Philip II, king of Macedon (360-336 BC). His son, Alexander the Great, would lead the Greeks on a conquest of the ancient Near East vastly expanding the Greek world.”
(Michael Burger, “The Shaping of Western Civilization: From Antiquity to the Enlightenment”, University of Toronto Press, 2008, p.76)
“To a certain extent the Macedonian monarchy had already been a unifying element in Greek history, even before the conquests of Alexander.”
(Michael Crawford, Fergus Millar, Emilio Gabba, "Sources for Ancient History", p. 12, Cambridge University Press)
“After Philip's assassination at Aegae in 336, Alexander inherited, together with the Macedonian kingdom, his father's Panhellenic project to lead the Greeks in the conquest of Persia.”
(Waldemar Heckel, Lawrence A. Tritle, “Alexander the Great: A New History”, Wiley-Blackwell, 2009, p.99)
Yale University, USA: "We know the ancient Macedonians were fundamentally Greeks. That is to say they were Greek speakers and ethnically they were Greeks."

Darius Dinshah [son of Dinshah P. Ghadiali, founder of Spectro-Chrome] is interviewed by Mark Ungar. Originally recorded, and later broadcast on a cable TV network in New York, NY. Gives an overview of Spectro-Chrome, the concept behind it, its supporters, as well as some of the opposition its originator faced.
This video gives a thumbnail view of Spectro-Chrome: its genesis and theory, use in a Philadelphia hospital, opposition by the AMA, and much more. While many alternative therapies are slowly gaining acceptance, few people realize the remarkable value of Spectro-Chrome, a form of colour therapy in use since 1920, though in later years mostly by laypersons.
http://spectrochrome.com/
DINSHAH’S SPECTRO-CHROME AXIOMS
1. The principles established in Spectro-Chrome are so startlingly precise, that the entire Normalating System is herein condensed into the very quintessence of simplicity.
2. As all Disorders of the Physical Body are due to Imbalance of its Chemical Elements, Dinshah patiently researched what Elements were unbalanced in each Disorder and finally established certain Axioms which eliminated guesswork and Differential Diagnosis. These radical Axioms may be summarized and utilized in practice, either separately or in combination, as follows:— Axiom 1—A Disorder may exist either on the Infra-Green or the Ultra-Green Division of the Chemical Spectrum. Axiom 2—All Disorders are remediable by Irradiation with their Affinity Division of the Chemical Spectrum. Axiom 3—All Fevers are on the Infra-Green Division and are remediable by the Ultra-Green Division. Axiom 4—All Inflammations (their medical names end with ITIS) are on the Infra-Green Division and are remediable by the Ultra-Green Division. Axiom 5—All Recent Disorders are on the Infra-Green Division and are remediable by the Ultra-Green Division. Axiom 6—All Persistent Disorders are on the Ultra-Green Division and are remedial by the Infra-Green Division. Axiom 7—All Disorders having Redness Heat Swelling Pain or any of those Four Signals are Inflammations. Axiom 8 — All Inflammations are Recent Disorders. Axiom 9 — All Skin Disorders are divided into Dry and Scaly Disorders or Moist and Weeping Disorders. Axiom 10 — All Skin Disorders should be converted into Moist and Weeping Disorders before final Normalation. Axiom 11 — Start Tonation on All Disorders by the Governing Colour (Green Systemic). Axiom 12—After the Green for Persistent Disorders irradiate with Lemon Systemic. Axiom 13—After the Green for Recent Disorders irradiate with Turquoise Systemic. Axiom 14—The Heart of a newborn baby pulsates about 120 to 140 times per Minute. Axiom 15—For each years advance in age the Heart Oscillation (Heartbeat) is reduced about 2 or 3 beats per Minute. Axiom 16—The average normal Heartbeat of an Adult Male is 72 to 80 Oscillations per Minute. Axiom 17—The average normal Heartbeat of an Adult Female Heart is 80 to 90 Oscillations per Minute. Axiom 18—Whether above or below the normal all Hearts will respond to Magenta on Area 4 or 18 for Equilibration. Axiom 19 — Respiration per Minute should average in the Ratio of 4 to 1 or 5 to 1 between the Heart and the Lungs. Axiom 20—A Ratio of 4 to 1 or 5 to 1 indicates a Hopeful Case. Axiom 21—A Ratio of 3 to 1 indicates a Doubtful Case with the Signal “Beware!” Axiom 22—A Ratio of 2 to 1 indicates Danger leading to possible Approaching Dissolution. Axiom 23—A Feeble or Low Heartbeat is raised by Scarlet on Area 4 or 18. Axiom 24—A Hard or High Heartbeat is lowered by Purple on Area 4 or 18. Axiom 25—A Feeble or Low Respiration is raised by Orange on Area 17 or on Areas 3, 4, 5. Axiom 26—A Rapid or High Respiration is lowered by Indigo on Area 17 or on Areas 3, 4, 6. Axiom 27—Before any Tonation the Functions of Elimination must be Normalated. Axiom 28 — Infra-Green Irradiation on Areas 8, 9, 10 or 18, 19 or between 11 and 19 with Legs drawn up will increase Backelim (Bowel Evacuation). Axiom 29—Ultra-Green Irradiation on Areas 8, 9, 10 or 18, 19 or between 11 and 19 with Legs drawn up will decrease Backelim. Axiom 30—Scarlet Irradiation on Area 4 or 18 will increase Frontelim (Urination). Axiom 31—Purple Irradiation on Area 4 or 18 will decrease Frontelim.
3. By following these Axioms and Tonating accordingly, Differential Diagnosis is abolished and guesswork is eliminated. Their finding by Dinshah elevated Healing to a true mathematical Science as it never was before.

The Battle of Marathon (490 BC) was the culmination of King Darius I of Persia's first major attempt to conquer the remainder of the Greeks
and add them to the Persian Empire, thereby securing the weakest portion of his Western border. We mostly know of this battle from Herodotus.
Darius first sent Mardonius in 492 BC overland to Europe in order to strengthen Persian domination in Thrace and Macedon that had been weakened by the
Ionian Revolt. Although successful in those tasks, this force fell in a storm off Mount Athos and the remains were forced to return to Asia, suffering

Although successful in those tasks, this force fell in a storm off Mount Athos and the remains were forced to return to Asia, suffering
losses along the way. In 490 BC Datis and Artaphernes were sent in a purely maritime operation to force the Cyclades islands in the central Aegean
to submit to Persia and punish Eretria and Athens for the help they had sent to the Ionian revolt. Eretria was sieged and fell, and then the fleet landed

Archaeological evidence shows that the earliest remains of Persepolis date back to 515 BCE. André Godard, the French archaeologist who excavated Persepolis in the early 1930s, believed that it was Cyrus the Great (Kūrosh) who chose the site of Persepolis, but that it was Darius I (Daryush) who built the terrace and the great palaces.
Darius ordered the construction of the Apadana Palace and the Council Hall (the Tripylon or three-gated hall), the main imperial Treasury and its surroundings. These were completed during the reign of his son, King Xerxes the Great (New-Persian Khashayar, more correctly,, 'the greatest/king of the gallant youth/young men'). Further construction of the buildings on the terrace continued until the downfall of the Achaemenid dynasty.

This show focuses on the Battle of Marathon, the ill-fated invasion of Greece by Persian king Darius I.
The Battle of Marathon (Greek: Μάχη τοῦ Μαραθῶνος, Machē tu Marathōnos) took place in 490 BC, during the first Persian invasion of Greece. It was fought between the citizens of Athens, aided by Plataea, and a Persian force commanded by Datis and Artaphernes. The battle was the culmination of the first attempt by Persia, under King Darius I, to subjugate Greece. The Greek army decisively defeated the more numerous Persians, marking a turning point in the Greco-Persian Wars.
The first Persian invasion was a response to Greek involvement in the Ionian Revolt, when Athens and Eretria had sent a force to support the cities of Ionia in their attempt to overthrow Persian rule. The Athenians and Eretrians had succeeded in capturing and burning Sardis, but were then forced to retreat with heavy losses. In response to this raid, Darius swore to burn down Athens and Eretria. According to Herodotus, Darius asked for his bow, he placed an arrow upon the string and he discharged it upwards towards heaven, and as he shot into the air he said: "Zeus, grant me to take vengeance upon the Athenians!". Also he charged one of his servants, to say to him, every day before dinner, three times: "Master, remember the Athenians."
At the time of the battle, Sparta and Athens were the two largest city states. Once the Ionian revolt was finally crushed by the Persian victory at the Battle of Lade in 494 BC, Darius began plans to subjugate Greece. In 490 BC, he sent a naval task force under Datis and Artaphernes across the Aegean, to subjugate the Cyclades, and then to make punitive attacks on Athens and Eretria. Reaching Euboea in mid-summer after a successful campaign in the Aegean, the Persians proceeded to besiege and capture Eretria. The Persian force then sailed for Attica, landing in the bay near the town of Marathon. The Athenians, joined by a small force from Plataea, marched to Marathon, and succeeded in blocking the two exits from the plain of Marathon.
The Greeks could not hope to face the superior Persian cavalry; however, when learning that the Persian cavalry was temporarily absent from the camp, Miltiades ordered a general attack against the Persians. He reinforced his flanks, luring the Persians' best fighters into his centre. The inward wheeling flanks enveloped the Persians, routing them. The Persian army broke in panic towards their ships, and large numbers were slaughtered. The defeat at Marathon marked the end of the first Persian invasion of Greece, and the Persian force retreated to Asia. Darius then began raising a huge new army with which he meant to completely subjugate Greece; however, in 486 BC, his Egyptian subjects revolted, indefinitely postponing any Greek expedition. After Darius died, his son Xerxes I restarted the preparations for a second invasion of Greece, which finally began in 480 BC.
The Battle of Marathon was a watershed in the Greco-Persian wars, showing the Greeks that the Persians could be beaten; the eventual Greek triumph in these wars can be seen to begin at Marathon. Since the following two hundred years saw the rise of the Classical Greek civilization, which has been enduringly influential in western society, the Battle of Marathon is often seen as a pivotal moment in European history. The battle is perhaps now more famous as the inspiration for the marathon race. Although thought to be historically inaccurate, the legend of the Greek messenger Pheidippides running to Athens with news of the victory became the inspiration for this athletic event, introduced at the 1896 Athens Olympics, and originally run between Marathon and Athens.

How the Persian Empire Was Built - Documentary Films
The Persian Empire was created by Cyrus II, known as Cyrus the Great (559-529 BC). Cyrus first defeated another Iranian people called the Medes, then in 547 Cyrus defeated the kingdom of Lydia (in what is now Turkey) at the battle of Pterya and he became the ruler of most of Asia Minor. Soon afterwards Cyrus also defeated the Greek cities on the Turkish coast. (These had been founded by the Greeks as colonies many years before).
However Cyrus adopted a policy of allowing conquered areas autonomy (a certain amount of independence) provided they paid their taxes. The Persians were also very tolerant of local religions. Later Persian rulers also followed this policy. Under Darius the Persian Empire was divided into areas called satrapies and each was ruled by a man called a satrap.
In 539 BC the Persians conquered the rich and powerful city-state of Babylon. The king of Babylon had ruled Syria and Phoenicia (modern day Lebanon) and both of these were now added to the Persian Empire.
Cyrus was followed by Cambyses II (529-522 BC). In 525 BC he conquered Egypt. He died in 522 BC and was replaced by Darius.
For the first part of his reign Darius had to deal with rebellions in his empire. He then fought wars with Greece. In 499 BC the Greek cities on the coast of Turkey rebelled. Darius quickly crushed the revolt but in 490 BC he decided to invade Greece to punish the Greeks for assisting the rebels. However the Persians were defeated by the Athenians at the battle of Marathon.
In 480 BC another Persian ruler, Xerxes, invaded Greece. This time the Persians captured Athens and they burned the Acropolis. However their fleet was crushed at a naval battle at Salamis. In 479 BC the Greeks won a decisive battle at Plataea, which assured Greek independence. Xerxes was assassinated in 465 BC.
Despite its brilliance the Persian Empire declined after 400 BC. For one thing the empire suffered from its sheer size, which made it difficult to control. The empire suffered a series of rebellions. It also suffered from political instability. Another ruler, Artaxerxes III, was assassinated in 338 BC. Finally the great Persian Empire was destroyed by Alexander the Great in 331 BC.more info visit:http://www.localhistories.org/persians.html
