We hope you enjoy our rendition of Silent Night, a classic Christmas carol that perfectly captures the quiet wonder of the true meaning of Christmas. We stayed up until 5:30 a.m. on a cold November night to make this video so that we could share a message of peace with the entire world. If you enjoyed this video, if you felt something as you listened to this song, please share it with someone you love.
We are so grateful to the production team that created such a beautiful video for a song that is so important to us. Our favorite part of the video is the very last shot, when we all symbolically kneel before the Christ child, offering ourselves and our talents as a gift to Him. We hope you'll find your own way to give Him a gift this holiday season. Merry Christmas!

BYU must really be taking this reputation for punching people very seriously, because the tendency has spread to the basketball team. It started in the fall with two incidents involving the football team. First when one of their players not so sneakily punched an opponent in the crotch, and second when the end of their bowl game erupted into an all-out brawl. Now Nick Emery, a freshman on the school's basketball team, has joined in, sucker-punching Utah's Brandon Taylor in the teams' in-state matchup Wednesday night.

The museum features a 32,400 square foot expansion and new exhibits. Admission to the museum is free. See mlbean.byu.edu for hours and schedules for live animal shows and other events.
"We are so excited to introduce the public to the new Bean Museum," said Museum Director Larry St. Clair. "It is a beautiful facility and a great place to explore and learn more about the wonderful creatures of our world."
Visitors to the museum's 32,400 square foot expansion and renovated facility will be able to explore even more of the earth's ecosystems and biodiversity through new exhibits, including:
Our Living Planet -- the unique, life-sustaining characteristics of planet Earth, featuring an eight-foot-in-diameter fiberglass globe, mapped with the most current NASA satellite images.
Life on Top: Apex Predators -- see what it's like to live at the top of the food chain with this display of animals as they might be found in the wild.
Whooo Lives Here? -- play area designed just for toddlers that teaches young children about animal homes with a talking owl, a bear cave and a tree nest with slide.
Fred and Sue Morris Bird Gallery -- a collection of more than 100 species of birds donated by Fred and Sue Morris.
Boyd K. Packer Gallery -- this exhibit features the wildlife art of President Boyd K. Packer, the President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including animal carvings and paintings.
The expanded facility also has a new orientation room and two new classrooms that will be used for outreach programs for local schools. The research and collections facility has been expanded and secured. There is a new wet collections facility for ethanol-preserved collections including fish, crustaceans, aquatic insects and mammals. In all, there are 2.8 million specimens housed in the museum. The new addition was paid for by donor contributions.

A new exhibit at BYU's Museum of Art (MOA) brings famous films - and history - to life and provides an unusual teaching opportunity for BYU faculty.
CUT! Costume and the Cinema is a traveling collection of forty period costumes worn by the leads of more than two-dozen popular motion pictures including Pirates of the Caribbean, Sense and Sensibility and Phantom of the Opera. The exhibition, which showcases the work of London costume house Cosprop Ltd, opened Friday, July 11, and runs through December 6.
"BYU Professors should be especially interested in this exhibit," said MOA’s Museum Educator Kalisha Grimsman because the historically accurate and intricately constructed pieces can be used as an impactful educational supplement in disciplines such as history, media, English and arts, as well as many other subjects.
"There's something about physical presence that is striking and memorable," Grimsman said. "[It’s often easy to] underestimate the power of inanimate objects to empower learning."
Films represented in the exhibition depict five centuries of history, drama, comedy, fantasy and adventure through costumes worn by famous film stars including Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, Daniel Craig, Kate Winslet and Sandra Bullock.
This exhibition can inspire university students to think critically as they consider how the costumes were produced, how fashion is changing and how fashion reflects history, said Grimsman. Students can also compare the historical portraiture with the contemporary costumes and contemplate how the costumes affect the way the subjects think, move and act.
Any faculty and staff who are interested in learning how to incorporate this exhibit into curriculum this fall can contact Grimsman directly. She will work with you one-on-one to create tailored tours that meet specific class objectives.
The exhibit’s curator, Nancy Lawson, a New York theater and international film industry regular, said costumes similar to the ones on display ignited her interest in history.
"I was never really into history before - I was always into theater and film," Lawson said. "Until I started doing costume exhibitions about ten years ago, history was just foreign, it didn't really affect me, I didn't really care. And this has kind of changed my life - it has given depth to my life."
According to Lawson, the pieces must be seen in person to be truly appreciated.
"To see them up close is very exciting," she said. "It's the craftsmanship, it's the quality of design, it's how it relates to the actor becoming that character. If Keira Knightley has to wear a corset, she can only move a certain way. She's going to move like that Duchess did and that informs [Knightley] so much."
Attendance to the exhibition is free and tickets are not required. More information about the exhibition and related programming can be found on the MOA's website.

Fougères is built around one of the largest and most impressive fortresses in France. It has an amazing history of wars, battles, and similar grim events. The fortress architecture is remarkable and reveals the improvements made over the centuries. Information and audio guides are well organized, and it's been designed to interest children, with many clever displays and multi-media experiences that captivate both younger and older visitors.(SEE MORE BELOW.)
Next up - Vitré - a wonderful surprise. We knew the Chateau at Vitré was exceptional, but we didn't expect such a charming medieval town. Several crooked streets reveal timber-frame buildings from as early as the 12th century. Restoration work has been extensive and authentic in character.
The Chateau is lovely by day or evening, and offers a tour through several sparse, but beautiful chambers. Paintings of the surrounding area, from earlier times, are displayed in the upper towers.
ABOUT FOUGERES, via Wikipedia:
Fougères' most famous monument and attraction is the Château de Fougères, a medieval stronghold built atop a granite ledge, which was part of the Duchy of Brittany's ultimately unsuccessful defence against French aggression, and part of a tripartate with Vitré.
Fougères also has one of only three belfries in Brittany, whose location serves as the centre of the weekend market. The belfry, built 1397, has symbolic importance: funded by local merchants, it allowed ordinary people access to timekeeping, previously the preserve of the church and nobility. Fougères is a town of Art and History (Villes et Pays d'Art et d'Histoire), a designation assigned to historic areas by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication. The town was involved in the rebellion against the French Revolution in 1793. A skirmish near Fougères was the subject of the French painter Julien Le Blant's (1851–1933) most famous work Le Bataillon Carré, Affaire de Fougères 1793, which won a Gold Medal in the Exposition Universelle in 1889. This large work is now located in the United States, at the Lee Library on the campus of Brigham Young University.
A sizable section of the town walls survives, stretching from the château in the lower town up the hill to surround the upper town. Medieval citizens in the lower town were outside the fortifications and had to retreat into the fortress in times of trouble.
ABOUT VITRE, via Wikipedia:
Vitré, a sub-prefecture until 1926, is the seat of a canton of around 16,834 inhabitants (2010). It lies on the edge of Brittany, near Normandy, Maine, and Anjou. The town has been designated a ville d'art et d'histoire, a town of artistic and historic significance, by the Ministry of Culture in recognition of its rich cultural inheritance. Vitré is the 37th French city with the most historic buildings and has 14% of the historical monuments of the department.

ROB LANDES is an award-winning violinist who started playing the violin at 3 years in Orem, Utah. Born to a large musical family, Rob gave his first solo recital at 10 years old, performed in the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on the Disney Channel with the Disney Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, and founded a piano trio that performed actively throughout his teenage years. Rob has won first prize at numerous music competitions and has soloed with the Utah Symphony, Utah Valley Symphony, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, BYU Philharmonic, and BYU Chamber Orchestra. As a first violinist of the BYU Chamber Orchestra, Rob performed in more than twenty cities throughout central and southern Europe, and as concertmaster of the orchestra, gave a concert to a sold-out audience in New York’s Carnegie Hall. Rob was awarded full scholarships to attend Brigham Young University and Rice University where he earned a Bachelor’s in Music and Master’s in Music, respectively. While studying at Rice, Rob began covering rock and pop music, and upon returning to Salt Lake City after graduation, began playing with a looper pedal which he uses to create intricate and stunning arrangements of today and yesterday’s most popular music. Rob recently won the award for "Best Instrumental" at the Utah Music Awards for his rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah".

Here is a video of Salt Lake City in HD ! Please subscribe :) !
Salt Lake City is the capital and the most populous city of Utah. The name of the city is often shortened to Salt Lake or SLC. With an estimated population of 183,171, the city lies in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, which has a total estimated population of 1,130,293. Salt Lake City is further situated in a larger urban area known as the Wasatch Front, which has an estimated population of 2,298,915.
The city was founded in 1847 as Great Salt Lake City by a group of Mormon pioneers led by their prophet, Brigham Young, who left behind hostility and violence in the Midwestern United States. They extensively irrigated and cultivated the arid valley and faced prosecution from the U.S. government for their practice of polygamy, which was officially discontinued in 1890. Although Salt Lake City is still home to the headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS, also known as the Mormon Church), less than half the population of Salt Lake City proper is Mormon today.
Mining booms and the construction of the first transcontinental railroad initially brought economic growth, and the city was nicknamed the Crossroads of the West. Salt Lake City has since developed a strong outdoor recreation tourist industry based primarily on skiing. Salt Lake City was host to the 2002 Winter Olympics and is the industrial banking center of the United States.
The modern economy of Salt Lake City is service-oriented. In the past, nearby steel, mining and railroad operations provided a strong source of income with Silver King Coalition Mines, Geneva Steel, Bingham Canyon Mine, and oil refineries. Today the city's major industries are government, trade, transportation, utilities, and professional and business services. The city is known as the "Crossroads of the West" for its central geography in the western United States.
In 2005, it was found the downtown area was experiencing rapid population growth. The number of residential units in the central business district has increased by 80% since 1995, and is forecast to nearly double in the next decade. The City Creek development of the LDS Church will be adding 300 units in its first phase including the 415 ft (126 m) tall City Creek condominium tower. Allen Millo Associates currently has two projects under construction and two more planned. All 200 units have been sold before construction of a seven-story condominium planned by Wood Property. A residential tower is planned for Trolley Square, and this follows the recent completion of the Northgate Apartments and 12-story condominiums at Gateway with two more buildings finished nearby and the Liberty Metro apartments near Library Square.
Office vacancy rates are low in the downtown region. In response, two new large buildings are being constructed. The first is eight stories and located in the Gateway District, while the second will be 22 stories high and is currently under construction on Main Street. In addition, the historic Walker Bank Building is currently undergoing major renovations that will enable it to achieve Class A office space status. Construction of the Gateway District, light rail, and planned commuter rail service have supported the revival of downtown.
