University of Oklahoma's Sigma Alpha Epsilon members move out. Backlash Continues After Video Shared Online
Lights shined on the former home of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Monday night, but that's only because the university set up large construction lights to ensure vandals don't strike again.
On a rainy day, the men of SAE carried out recliners, mattresses, televisions and bundles of clothes. Their parents were alongside to help, loading stuff into SUVs and trucks.
An SAE mom wouldn't go on camera, but told 2 Works for You reporter Liz Bryant, "We are not all like this, we have common sense."
Many students walked by the back parking lot curiously, including Will Foster.

Oklahoma (

Oklahoma is the 20th most extensive and the 28th most populous of the 50 United States. The state's name is derived from the Choctaw words okla and humma, meaning "red people", and it is known informally by its nickname, The Sooner State. Formed by the combination of Oklahoma Territory and Indian Territory on November 16, 1907, Oklahoma was the 46th state to enter the union. Its residents are known as Oklahomans or, informally "Okies", and its capital and largest city is Oklahoma City.
A major producer of natural gas, oil, and agriculture, Oklahoma relies on an economic base of aviation, energy, telecommunications, and biotechnology. It has one of the fastest growing economies in the nation, ranking among the top states in per capita income growth and gross domestic product growth. Oklahoma City and Tulsa serve as Oklahoma's primary economic anchors, with nearly 60 percent of Oklahomans living in their metropolitan statistical areas.

The University of Oklahoma (OU) is a coeducational public research university located in Norman, Oklahoma. Founded in 1890, it existed in Oklahoma Territory near Indian Territory for 17 years before the two became the state of Oklahoma. As of 2007[update] the university had 29,931 students enrolled, most located at its main campus in Norman. Employing nearly 3,000 faculty members, the school offers 152 baccalaureate programs, 160 master's programs, 75 doctorate programs, and 20 majors at the first professional level.David Lyle Boren, a former U.S. Senator and Oklahoma Governor, has served as President of the University of Oklahoma since 1994.
The school is ranked first per capita among public universities in enrollment of National Merit Scholars and among the top ten in the graduation of Rhodes Scholars. PC Magazine and the Princeton Review rated it one of the "20 Most Wired Colleges" in both 2006 and 2008, while the Carnegie Foundation classifies it as a research university with "very high research activity." Located on its Norman campus are two prominent museums, the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, specializing in French Impressionism and Native American artwork, and the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, specializing in the natural history of Oklahoma.

A football player or footballer is a sportsperson who plays one of the different types of football. The main types of football that are played are association football, American football, Canadian football, Australian rules football, Gaelic football, Rugby league, and Rugby union.
It has been estimated that there are 250 million association football players in the world, and many play the other forms of football.
Football players generally begin as amateurs and the best players progress to become professional players. Normally they start at a youth team (any local team) and from there, based on skill and talent, scouts offer contracts. Once signed, they learn to play better football and some advance to the senior or professional teams.
Research shows that association football players that take less than 200ms after the referee blows their whistle for a penalty kick are significantly more likely to miss scoring than those that take over a second.
American football players are prone to head injuries. This may make them prone to Alzheimers.

University of Oklahoma's Sigma Alpha Epsilon members move out. Backlash Continues After Video Shared Online Lights shined on the former home of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Monday night, but that's only because the university set up large construction lights to ensure vandals don't strike again. On a rainy day, the men of SAE carried out recliners, mattresses, televisions and bundles of clothes. Their parents were alongside to help, loading stuff into SUVs and trucks. Lights shined on the former home of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Monday night, but that's only because the university set up large construction lights to ensure vandals don't strike again.
On a rainy day, the men of SAE carried out recliners, mattresses, televisions and bundles of clothes. Their parents were alongside to help, loading stuff into SUVs and trucks.
An SAE mom wouldn't go on camera, but told 2 Works for You reporter Liz Bryant, "We are not all like this, we have common sense."
Many students walked by the back parking lot curiously, including Will Foster.

Gaylord College Bangladesh/Oklahoma Entrepreneur Exchange program
A group of 16 Oklahomans led by Dean Joe S. Foote of the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Oklahoma is visiting Bangladesh on a U.S. State Department Exchange program for entrepreneurs. The group has made visits to the Yunus Centre and met with Prof. Muhammad Yunus for close to an hour and talked with him about entrepreneurship and the concept of social business. The group also met with Finance Minister Abul Maal Muhith on January 6. The visit had an interesting twist. There was a nationwide transportation strike on the day of the visits, so no buses or cars could safely travel through the city of Dhaka. The group improvised a solution and hired two ambulances to take them through the city to the meetings. -

The group has made visits to the Yunus Centre and met with Prof. Muhammad Yunus for close to an hour and talked with him about entrepreneurship and the concept of social business. The group also met with Finance Minister Abul Maal Muhith on January 6.
The visit had an interesting twist. There was a nationwide transportation strike on the day of the visits, so no buses or cars could safely travel through the city of Dhaka. The group improvised a solution and hired two ambulances to take them through the city to the meetings.

Blue Highways, which spent 42 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list in 1982–83, is a chronicle of a three-month-long road trip that Least Heat-Moon took throughout the United States in 1978 after he had lost his teaching job and been separated from his first wife. He tells how he traveled 13,000 miles, as much as possible on secondary roads (which he points out were often drawn on maps in blue, especially in the old-style Rand McNally road atlas), and tried to avoid cities. Living out of his van, he visited small towns such as Nameless, Tennessee; Hachita, New Mexico; and Bagley, Minnesota to find places in America untouched by fast food chains and interstate highways. The book records memorable encounters in roadside cafés as well as his search for something greater than himself.
PrairyErth is a deep map account of the history and people of Chase County, Kansas.
River-Horse is Least Heat-Moon's account of a four-month coast-to-coast boat trip across the U.S. in which he traveled almost exclusively on the nation's waterways from the Atlantic to the Pacific, with many of the nearly 5,000 miles following journeys taken by early explorers like Henry Hudson and Lewis and Clark.
Columbus in the Americas (2002) is a brief history of Christopher Columbus's journeys.

More than 6,000 Runes are found worldwide, and present a history of Scandinavian life and exploration in the Medieval Age. This TedX lecture explores scholarly efforts to determine the authenticity of North American and Oklahoman stones, and popular television entertainment programs and corporate efforts to capitalize on a different story line.
Mark Kinders is the Vice President of Public Affairs at UCO. In a private pursuit, he is the vice president of the American Association for Runic Studies. AARS investigates North American runes in affiliation with Uppsala University in Sweden, and the Swedish Council of America, and partners with the Smithsonian Institution and other universities. Kinders holds a master’s in history (University of Wisconsin-River Falls) and a doctorate in higher education (University of Arkansas).

These are apt quotes to describe the performance of one of Australia's most prominent and respected beatboxers and serial pests. Only in his mid-twenties Tom Thum has achieved and experienced more than most artists could hope to achieve in a lifetime. From winning the team battles (alongside Joel Turner) in the World Beatbox Championships in 2005, to fulfilling every artists dream and performing on Broadway in New York with the Tom Tom Crew, Tom has seen his fair share of accolades and well and truly paid his dues. Raised by the small but accommodating Brisbane hip hop scene, Tom started out as a graffiti writer and a Bboy but slowly rose to recognition through his ability to produce unhuman sounds and his natural knack for performing and weaselling his way on stage...
Although the stage seems the ideal habitat for Tom he is also no stranger to community and has been helping the scene improve through conducting a plethora of workshops in many places that usually wouldn't have access to such knowledge and skill. Tom has travelled from the very top of Australia teaching in the Indigenous communities of Mornington and Thursday Islands all the way to the very bottom with a series of workshops in Tasmania and Adelaide.
He has also spent considerable time teaching on Palm Island and in Charleville and many other places that would otherwise be Starved for education about proper hip hop and the positive message that music preaches.
As Tom's experience within the music industry expands, he plans to push the limits of the human voice as far as inhumanly possible. Enrolling the help of numerous loop stations, Tom has been conducting DJ sets using only his voice and nothing else, propelling crowds across the country into a frenzy of jaw-dropping disbelief, as he re-creates and remixes classic joints and jams from all eras and genres. At present Tom is working on an album ranging across many different generes and features and hopes to have it finished by early 2012. You might see him on a stage at a festival looping up a storm or supporting anyone from the Hilltop Hoods to Blue King Brown, or you might catch him annoying the hell out of commuters on public transport. Either way, you will notice him soon enough. Keep an ear out for Tom Thum."

Jonathan Brilliant, VisArts' 2011 Artist in Residence, has spent two weeks on site preparing for his exhibition, Stick Stack Show. Brilliant gathers materials in what he refers to as "his natural environment", the coffee shop, and uses everything associated with commercial coffee consumption, from stir sticks to sugar packets, to execute site-responsive installations. His monumental, sculptural, and architectural installations address the upsurge of our contemporary caffeine culture and the development of the coffee shop as a popular 21st century social habitat. Using a labor intensive, craft-based material process, Brilliant constructs installations containing 30,000 to 60,000 coffee stirrers woven in place using only tension and compression.
Stick Stack Show is a continuation of Brilliant's Have Sticks Will Travel World Tour that began in 2009. The tour evolved as a marathon series of site-specific installations created in 13 galleries (in three countries and on two continents) over a period of 18 months. In September of 2010, the tour temporarily concluded at the McColl Center for Visual Art in Charlotte, North Carolina where Brilliant completed a three-month residency.
VisArts' exhibition will be Brilliant's first installation in the state of Virginia.
Jonathan Brilliant was born in 1976 in Charleston, South Carolina. He holds a B.A. in studio art from the College of Charleston and an M.F.A. in Spatial Arts from San Jose State University. He has received numerous fellowships to artist residencies and communities including: Ox-Bow School of Art, Penland School of Crafts, Redux Contemporary Art Center, The University of Oklahoma, The University of Memphis, The East/West Project in Berlin Germany. In 2007 he was awarded a Joan Mitchell foundation full fellowship in Sculpture to attend the Vermont Studio Center. This August he was name the 2012 SOUTH CAROLINA ARTIST FELLOW. In October he was awarded the prestigious Pollock-Krasner Individual Artist Grant.
Brilliant encourages the public to watch his installation process. VisArts' True F. Luck Gallery will be open daily from 11:00AM- 2:00PM from October 25 to November 2. On November 2 from 6 to 8 PM, Brilliant will lead a demonstrative printmaking workshop focusing on rhythm, repetition, patterning and mark-making using coffee-related materials on the press and on November 3 from 10 AM to 12 PM he will lead a collagraph printing workshop using coffee stix and sleeves. Educational gallery guides for adults, children, and teachers, and a hands-on interactive VisArts: Engage installation for children will accompany the exhibition.
