The gates of hell are various places on the surface of the world that have acquired a legendary reputation for being entrances to the underworld. Often they are found in regions of unusual geological activity, particularly volcanic areas, or sometimes at lakes, caves or mountains.
Legends from both ancient Greece and Rome record stories of mortals who entered or were abducted into the netherworld through such gates.
Pluto's Gate in modern-day Turkey.
The god Hades kidnapped the goddess Persephone from a field in Sicily and led her to the underworld through a cleft in the earth so he could marry her.
Orpheus traveled to the Greek underworld in search of Eurydice by entering a cave at Taenarum or Cape Tenaron on the southern tip of the Peloponnese.
Hercules entered the Underworld from this same spot.
Aeneas visited the underworld, entering through a cave at the edge of Lake Avernus on the Bay of Naples.
Odysseus visited the underworld, entering through Lake Acheron in northwest Greece.
In the middle of the Roman Forum is another entrance, Lacus Curtius, where according to legend, a Roman soldier, named Curtius, bravely rode his horse into the entrance in a successful effort to close it, although both he and his horse perished in the deed.
Into the medieval period Mount Etna on Sicily was considered to be an entryway to hell.
In China, Fengdu has a long history in the Taoist tradition of being a portal to hell.
In Nicaragua there are two sites with this reputation.
Hellam Township near York, Pennsylvania, is the subject of a modern urban legend claiming that it contains the Seven Gates of Hell.
In Derweze, Turkmenistan a burning natural gas fire in the middle of the Karakum Desert is known as the Door to Hell.
In the depths of the Catacombs of Paris, legends tell of an entrance to hell.

Bachelors of Art in Geography is a great choice, and has many job options available both in domestic and international markets. There is really no shortage of takers of graduates with a degree in geology. You can find yourself a job in both private and public sectors in India. The working domain of a geographer has increased by leaps and bounds in the last few decades.
You can find jobs as a cartographer, or a map maker. This seems like an outdated job in the context of modern satellite technologies and GPS. But, many private companies and real estate firms still use a geographer to create maps for them. This can be a very lucrative job depending on the number of projects the company you work for takes in a year.
You can find various jobs in NGO’s and government agencies where the study of population and human living is the priority. There are many government agencies and NGO’s which require detailed statistics in terms of population and resources available to implement plans for rural development, and you can find some great career opportunities in this field.
The Geological Survey of India does provide some great career opportunities for many geographers who are willing to work as surveyors. There are many state level government agencies too which require the skills of a surveyor. This is another lucrative field of work with immense potential for growth.
You can find career opportunities as an urban or regional city planner. Your skills as a geographer come in handy while on the job. You can apply through the planning commission of India, or you can apply for a job at the local level municipality for this job.
Climatologist is another exciting career option for you as a geographer. You can either choose to work for the government at the local climatologist centre. Alternatively, you can choose to work for the local media house, or a national media house as an in-house climatologist. You can find many exciting career options as a climatologist too.
The more personally rewarding option is that you can choose to become a teacher. Teaching might not seem profitable for many of us, but the truth is teaching helps us grow other skills in us. Also, teaching for a couple of years allows you to take some time off to decide what is the best choice to further your career without losing any grasp of your subject. You can find good careers in many major schools in and around the area, you live in. However, you need to have a strong foundation in English to effectively communicate with your students.
The pay packets offered to freshers are really great in the field of geography. You can expect anywhere between 15,000 and 25,000 rupees a month. If you are a brilliant student, then you can expect a little more.

The Geo Data Portal (GDP) was developed with support from the National Climate Change and Wildlife Science Center (NCCWSC) in response to the wide practice in environmental modeling of accessing and processing climate model data. The GDP platform assists scientists and resource managers in accessing and using downscaled climate projections and other modeling resources. The GDP provides easily downloadable calculations and information for various regions, climate factors, and time periods of interest. These capabilities will be described during this webinar, along with future plans for disseminating other relevant data products across the NCCWSC and Climate Science Center network.
This webinar was conducted as a part of the "NCCWSC Climate Change Science and Management Webinar Series", through a partnership between the National Climate Change and Wildlife Science Center (NCCWSC) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's National Conservation Training Center (NCTC).

Geography (from Greek γεωγραφία - geographia, lit. "earth describe-write") is the science that studies the lands, the features, the inhabitants, and the phenomena of the Earth. A literal translation would be "to describe or write about the Earth". The first person to use the word "geography" was Eratosthenes (276-194 BC). Four historical traditions in geographical research are the spatial analysis of the natural and the human phenomena (geography as the study of distribution), the area studies (places and regions), the study of the man-land relationship, and the research in the earth sciences. Nonetheless, the modern geography is an all-encompassing discipline that foremost seeks to understand the Earth and all of its human and natural complexities—not merely where objects are, but how they have changed and come to be. Geography has been called "the world discipline" and "the bridge between the human and the physical science". Geography is divided into two main branches: the human geography and the physical geography.

The gates of hell are various places on the surface of the world that have acquired a legendary reputation for being entrances to the underworld. Often they are found in regions of unusual geological activity, particularly volcanic areas, or sometimes at lakes, caves or mountains.
Legends from both ancient Greece and Rome record stories of mortals who entered or were abducted into the netherworld through such gates.
Pluto's Gate in modern-day Turkey.
The god Hades kidnapped the goddess Persephone from a field in Sicily and led her to the underworld through a cleft in the earth so he could marry her.
Orpheus traveled to the Greek underworld in search of Eurydice by entering a cave at Taenarum or Cape Tenaron on the southern tip of the Peloponnese.
Hercules entered the Underworld from this same spot.
Aeneas visited the underworld, entering through a cave at the edge of Lake Avernus on the Bay of Naples.
Odysseus visited the underworld, entering through Lake Acheron in northwest Greece.
In the middle of the Roman Forum is another entrance, Lacus Curtius, where according to legend, a Roman soldier, named Curtius, bravely rode his horse into the entrance in a successful effort to close it, although both he and his horse perished in the deed.
Into the medieval period Mount Etna on Sicily was considered to be an entryway to hell.
In China, Fengdu has a long history in the Taoist tradition of being a portal to hell.
In Nicaragua there are two sites with this reputation.
Hellam Township near York, Pennsylvania, is the subject of a modern urban legend claiming that it contains the Seven Gates of Hell.
In Derweze, Turkmenistan a burning natural gas fire in the middle of the Karakum Desert is known as the Door to Hell.
In the depths of the Catacombs of Paris, legends tell of an entrance to hell.

You can find good careers in many major schools in and around the area, you live in. However, you need to have a strong foundation in English to effectively communicate with your students.

This Hottest Zone Of The Earth Receives Direct Sunlight

This Zone Is Also Known As The Tropical Zone.
This Zone Receives Abundant Rainfall And Has Abundant Green Plants And Trees And Varied Animal Life.
Between The Tropic Of Cancer And Arctic Circle In The North ... And The Tropic Of Capricorn And Antarctic Circle In The South Are Two Zones Of Moderate Temperature Called Temperate Zone. Temperate Means Moderate.
The Sun Never Shines On These Areas Vertically.
The Area That Lies To The North Of The Arctic Circle And To The South Of The Antarctic Circle Is Called The Frigid Zone.

LATITUDES
Latitudes are imaginary lines that circle the globe. They are also called PARALLES.
They never come together anywhere on the globe and are always equidistant with each other.
EQUATOR
The First Parallel is the Equator. It is the Zero Degree Latitude. Latitudes measure the distance NORTH AND SOUTH from the Equator.
Thus, Equator is the imaginary line that divides the Earth into two Equal Halves.... THE NORTHERN HEMISHPHERE & THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE.
A Latitude is an angle measured from the centre of the Earth and is usually measured in degrees.
The latitude of a location on the Earth is the Angular distance of that location South or North of the Equator.
Curves Of Constant Latitude On The Earth (Running East-West) Are Reffered To As Lines Of Latitude.
Each Line Of Latitude Is Actually An Imaginary Circle On The Earth Parallel To The Equator.
Effect Of Latitudes
The Latitude Of A Region Has A Great Effect On Its Climate And Weather.
The Important Parallels That We Just Learnt About Divides The Earth Into Various Heat Zones.
The Different Heat Zones Have Different Type Of Climates.
This Zone Lies Between The Tropic Of Cancer And Tropic Of Capricorn. The Word Torrid Means Hot.
This Hottest Zone Of The Earth Receives Direct Sunlight
Throughout The Year.
This Zone Is Also Known As The Tropical Zone.
This Zone Receives Abundant Rainfall And Has Abundant Green Plants And Trees And Varied Animal Life.
Between The Tropic Of Cancer And Arctic Circle In The North ... And The Tropic Of Capricorn And Antarctic Circle In The South Are Two Zones Of Moderate Temperature Called Temperate Zone. Temperate Means Moderate.
The Sun Never Shines On These Areas Vertically.
The Area That Lies To The North Of The Arctic Circle And To The South Of The Antarctic Circle Is Called The Frigid Zone.
The Sun Never Rises Much Above The Horizon Here And These Areas Are Thus Frozen For Most Of The Year And Are The Coldest Region Of The World.

The conflict is also referred to as Operation Vijay (Victory in Hindi) which was the name of the Indian operation to clear the Kargil sector. The cause of the war was the infiltration of Pakistani soldiers and Kashmiri militants into positions on the Indian side of the LOC,[19] which serves as the de facto border between the two states. During the initial stages of the war, Pakistan blamed the fighting entirely on independent Kashmiri insurgents, but documents left behind by casualties and later statements by Pakistan's Prime Minister and Chief of Army Staff showed involvement of Pakistani paramilitary forces,led by General Ashraf Rashid. The Indian Army, later on supported by the Indian Air Force, recaptured a majority of the positions on the Indian side of the LOC infiltrated by the Pakistani troops and militants. With international diplomatic opposition, the Pakistani forces withdrew from the remaining Indian positions along the LOC. The war is one of the most recent examples of high altitude warfare in mountainous terrain, which posed significant logistical problems for the combating sides. To date, it is also the only instance of direct, conventional warfare between nuclear states (i.e., those possessing nuclear weapons). India had conducted its first successful test in 1974; Pakistan, which had been developing its nuclear capability in secret since around the same time, conducted its first known tests in 1998, just two weeks after a second series of tests by India. Webinar Description: A significant challenge faced by climate scientists and land managers in the public and private sectors is the need for reliable and complete information about the status of ecosystem components (e.g. air, land, water, plants, animals) that may be influenced by climate change. While many organizations monitor one or more aspect of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, these monitoring programs are seldom coordinated and the associated data are not readily discoverable. The Global Change Monitoring Portal (GCMP) is a recently released tool of the DOI Southeast Climate Science Center designed to support the efforts of multiple federal, state, and other organizations by connecting them to these data resources. The GCMP will provide a centralized, comprehensive catalog of information about monitoring networks associated with aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems that can be used to assess the potential effects of climate change in the southeastern United States. Monitoring programs are classified according to the types of observations made, such as media and parameter category, and monitoring sites are mapped into geographic categories such as Ecoregion and Landscape Conservation Cooperative, so that the database can be searched and displayed by measurement and/or geographic criteria. This webinar will introduce some of the features of the Global Change Monitoring Portal, currently in the first phase of development. -

In August of 20XX, a portal to a parallel world, known as the "Gate," suddenly appeared in Ginza, Tokyo. Monsters and troops poured out of the portal, turning the shopping district into a bloody inferno. The Japan Ground-Self Defence Force immediately took action and pushed the fantasy creatures back to the "Gate." To facilitate negotiations and prepare for future fights, the JGSDF dispatched the Third Reconnaissance Team to the "Special Region" at the other side of the Gate. Youji Itami, a JSDF officer as well as a 33-year-old otaku, was appointed as the leader of the Team. Amid attacks from enemy troops the team visited a variety of places and learnt a lot about the local culture and geography. Thanks to their efforts in humanitarian relief, although with some difficulties they were gradually able to reach out to the locals. They even had a cute elf, a sorceress and a demigoddess in their circle of new friends. On the other hand, the major powers outside the Gate such as the United States, China, and Russia were extremely interested in the abundant resources available in the Special Region. They began to exert diplomatic pressure over Japan. A suddenly appearing portal to an unknown world—to the major powers it may be no more than a mere asset for toppling the international order. But to our protagonists it is an invaluable opportunity to broaden knowledge, friendship, and ultimately their perspective towards the world. -

The Kargil War was an armed conflict between India and Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999 in the Kargil district of Kashmir and elsewhere along the Line of Control (LOC). The conflict is also referred to as Operation Vijay (Victory in Hindi) which was the name of the Indian operation to clear the Kargil sector.
The cause of the war was the infiltration of Pakistani soldiers and Kashmiri militants into positions on the Indian side of the LOC,[19] which serves as the de facto border between the two states. During the initial stages of the war, Pakistan blamed the fighting entirely on independent Kashmiri insurgents, but documents left behind by casualties and later statements by Pakistan's Prime Minister and Chief of Army Staff showed involvement of Pakistani paramilitary forces,led by General Ashraf Rashid. The Indian Army, later on supported by the Indian Air Force, recaptured a majority of the positions on the Indian side of the LOC infiltrated by the Pakistani troops and militants. With international diplomatic opposition, the Pakistani forces withdrew from the remaining Indian positions along the LOC.
The war is one of the most recent examples of high altitude warfare in mountainous terrain, which posed significant logistical problems for the combating sides. To date, it is also the only instance of direct, conventional warfare between nuclear states (i.e., those possessing nuclear weapons). India had conducted its first successful test in 1974; Pakistan, which had been developing its nuclear capability in secret since around the same time, conducted its first known tests in 1998, just two weeks after a second series of tests by India.

Webinar Description: A significant challenge faced by climate scientists and land managers in the public and private sectors is the need for reliable and complete information about the status of ecosystem components (e.g. air, land, water, plants, animals) that may be influenced by climate change. While many organizations monitor one or more aspect of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, these monitoring programs are seldom coordinated and the associated data are not readily discoverable. The Global Change Monitoring Portal (GCMP) is a recently released tool of the DOI Southeast Climate Science Center designed to support the efforts of multiple federal, state, and other organizations by connecting them to these data resources. The GCMP will provide a centralized, comprehensive catalog of information about monitoring networks associated with aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems that can be used to assess the potential effects of climate change in the southeastern United States. Monitoring programs are classified according to the types of observations made, such as media and parameter category, and monitoring sites are mapped into geographic categories such as Ecoregion and Landscape Conservation Cooperative, so that the database can be searched and displayed by measurement and/or geographic criteria. This webinar will introduce some of the features of the Global Change Monitoring Portal, currently in the first phase of development.

In August of 20XX, a portal to a parallel world, known as the "Gate," suddenly appeared in Ginza, Tokyo. Monsters and troops poured out of the portal, turning the shopping district into a bloody inferno.
The Japan Ground-Self Defence Force immediately took action and pushed the fantasy creatures back to the "Gate." To facilitate negotiations and prepare for future fights, the JGSDF dispatched the Third Reconnaissance Team to the "Special Region" at the other side of the Gate.
Youji Itami, a JSDF officer as well as a 33-year-old otaku, was appointed as the leader of the Team. Amid attacks from enemy troops the team visited a variety of places and learnt a lot about the local culture and geography.
Thanks to their efforts in humanitarian relief, although with some difficulties they were gradually able to reach out to the locals. They even had a cute elf, a sorceress and a demigoddess in their circle of new friends. On the other hand, the major powers outside the Gate such as the United States, China, and Russia were extremely interested in the abundant resources available in the Special Region. They began to exert diplomatic pressure over Japan.
A suddenly appearing portal to an unknown world—to the major powers it may be no more than a mere asset for toppling the international order. But to our protagonists it is an invaluable opportunity to broaden knowledge, friendship, and ultimately their perspective towards the world.
