Alan Wilson is a British historian specialising in the origins and ancient history of the British and the history of the ancient British kings including two real King Arthurs.
Arthurian research:
In 1976, after a chance meeting with historical researcher, Anthony Thomas 'Baram' Blackett, at the public library in Newcastle upon Tyne, the two men decided to put up many thousands of pounds of their own money to fund full-time research into the origins of King Arthur. The Arthurian stories, so popular today, came out of South-Eastern Wales into France, via the Normans, in the 12th century and this encouraged them to start their search in the same place. The search soon moved beyond Wales to include the English Midlands which had been dominated by the old Welsh Kingdoms for centuries.
To date, Wilson and Blackett have published seven books that provide information based upon Old Welsh records that date to the 12th Century. They believe that these provide a final solution to the King Arthur story and have clearly identified the true sites of the battles of Badon (Mynydd Baedan) and Camlann.
In 1983, Wilson and Blackett discovered what they believe to be King Arthur's memorial stone at the small ruined church of St Peter-super-Montem on Mynydd-y-Gaer in Mid-Glamorgan, which they subsequently purchased. The stone was offered to the National Museum of Wales (Amguedda Werin Cymru) for analysis, but the offer was not taken up. Subsequently it went on public display in various venues for some time. Following this, they employed the services of two archaeologists, (Professor Eric Talbot and Alan Wishart) in 1990, to lead a dig at the same place. During the excavations, which were authorised by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales, several artefacts were discovered including an ancient axe, a knife and a small cross weighing two and a half pounds, that reads "Pro Anima Artorius" ("For The Soul Of Arthur"). The cross was subsequently tested by an independent metallurgical house, Bodycote PLC, and found to be made of electrum, and so certified. The cross was offered up to the National Museum of Wales for public testing, but this also was declined.Wilson and Blackett had already identified the church as an ancient historical site possibly originally dating from the first century A.D. Other major Welsh kings are buried locally.
More recently, Wilson and Blackett began a search for what was known as 'The Greatest Work of the Cymru' - Cyfrangon. This is allegedly a massive, hollow, man-made hill concealed somewhere in Wales (similar to Silbury Hill). Treasure hunters in Wales have long sought this fabled hill in which, it is believed, lie several objects of tremendous historical and archaeological value, many of which may be covered in gold or copper.
The use of deep ground probing metal detection and analysis equipment revealed non ferrous metal artefacts some fifteen feet below the surface of the hill at Twyn y Glog, near Ynysybwl in mid Glamorgan. Further investigation by collaborators proved that the original height of the hill lies some 30 or more metres below the Ordnance Survey height, and that the hill is therefore an artificial construct. (Berkly, G., 2007).
No further tests have been made to date (10 September 2007).
Lecture tours:
Alan Wilson and his colleague lectured extensively in the United Kingdom, including Manchester and Jesus College at the University of Oxford, and Alan Wilson gave the prestigious Bemis Lecture in Boston in 1993. Research into claims that the Welsh settled in mid-western America in antiquity led to Wilson and his colleague, Baram Blackett, accepting invitations from American supporters to visit US sites of historical significance in 1994. The visit led to several television appearances and the deciphering of alphabetic inscriptions claimed to be in the old 'Coelbren' alphabet. Wilson also concluded that the many snake mounds in the American Mid-west were of ancient Khumric-British construction. Whilst in America, the two men were also commissioned to produce a detailed genealogy for the Bush family (friends and supporters of President George H. W. Bush).

Arthur, King of Glamorgan and Gwent (with Baram Blackett, MT Byrd Partnership, 1980)

Bart D. Ehrman presented "Jesus and the Historian" at the Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium, 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Biblical scholars have long recognized the discrepancies between the four New Testament Gospels and the difficulties that result in determining who Jesus really was. Can these four Gospels be relied upon to give us an accurate account of Jesus’s words and deeds? Bart brings to bear his analysis and lengthy scholarship to answer this question.
This event was sponsored as a joint venture of St. John’s Episcopal Church, on the Square, Carlisle and the Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Program discussed on Bart Ehrman's Foundation Blog: http://ehrmanblog.org/?p=8751
Bart D. Ehrman is the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He came to UNC in 1988, after four years of teaching at Rutgers University. At UNC he has served as both the Director of Graduate Studies and the Chair of the Department of Religious Studies. A graduate of Wheaton College (Illinois), Professor Ehrman received both his Masters of Divinity and Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary, where his 1985 doctoral dissertation was awarded magna cum laude.

The January 11, 2015 Just Peace program on Atlanta's WRFG-FM was to explore the work and interests of "Cliff Kuhn - Atlanta's Consummate Historian." Cliff passed in November 2015 and what a loss this is for us all. The recorded interview is with WRFG founder Harlon Joye and scholar Bernard West. Cliff played a central role at WRFG radio as the chair of WRFG's Board of Directors and the first producer of WRFG's Labor Forum. He was critical as a researcher in the station's award winning "Living Atlanta" radio series project in the late 1970's that covered the racial and economic history of Atlanta between the first and second world wars. Harlon Joye was the creator and director of the Living Atlanta project and hired Cliff Kuhn and Bernard West as the primary researchers and interviewers. Cliff subsequently obtained his PhD from the University of North Carolina and began teaching history at Georgia State University as well as becoming the first Executive Director of the Oral History Association. He also was instrumental in compiling the Living Atlanta radio series narrative and information into a book in 1990 entitled "Living Atlanta: An Oral History of the City, 1914–1948". His brilliance and enthusiasm were infectious. We are so thankful he came our way. The photo above is of Harlon Joye, Bernard West and Cliff Kuhn in1990 at Atlanta's Oxford Books at the book signing of the newly released "Living Atlanta" by the University of Georgia Press. Since I have uploaded WWII Documentaries from the perspective of the Allies I believe it is only fair that I upload a documentary that provides the German perspective.
Hitler's War: What the Historians Neglect to Mention. An English translation of "Hitlers Krieg? Was Guido Knopp Verschweigt" by Alphart Geyer (Germany 2009). This is a 96 minute long "Made in Germany" underground documentary film. It's the first documentary ever to unabashedly explain from the German perspective, how World War II really began, and the many efforts that were made by Hitler to avoid it, and to establish a lasting, viable and mutually acceptable peace, but how he was ultimately left with no choice but to invade Poland. It documents many facts that have been deliberately left out of the "official narrative" as presented by the victorious Allies, which we have all been taught since 1945, and which Germans especially have been constantly reminded of since the war ended; with the blame entirely upon Germany's shoulders. Many of the claims of the Allies that have been widely accepted as fact are refuted here as patently untrue, distorted, or ignored completely.
The film is largely based upon a book entitled "Der Krieg der viele Väter hatte" (PDF) (English: The War that had Many Fathers) by German author and historian, Gerd Schulze Rhonhof and "Ein unvermeidlicher Krieg? — Der Weg zum 1. September 1939" (An Unavoidable War -- The Path to September 1st, 1939). Rhonhof is a former high-ranking, German military officer (Brigadier General in the Panzer Division) who has done, as any honest historian should, his own deep research in the war archives, and has been assisted many other historians. His website contains all of his documentation. His books and assertions, not surprisingly, have not been so well received by many politicians, academia, the Left, and the mainstream media.
The making of this film seems to have been prompted primarily by some comments made by Chancellor Angela Merkel, speaking to a live audience and the various Heads of State from many nations, gathered at a ceremony in Danzig in 2009, to remember Hitler's (allegedly) senseless and unprovoked attack on Poland, paying respects to the Polish victims on behalf of Germany, and as always, expressing gratitude to the Allies, for their sacrifices in the victory over National Socialism. Merkel, like all other German chancellors since the end of World War II, accepted full responsibility and with it, the perpetual guilt for the entire war on behalf of all Germans, and unquestioningly accepted, again: the villain role ascribed to National Socialist Germany by the victors, which many Germans, to this day, deeply resent, yet have silently endured it all of their lives. Merkel's comments, however, struck a raw nerve for many Germans who know "the rest of the story".
"Hitler's War" is also a sharp rebuke to well known German "journalist", author, filmmaker and commentator Guido Knopp (to whom the original film title actually refers), and who many Germans regard as "Uncle Guido" (in the English sense of an "Uncle Tom"), as he has a reputation for being a domestic Propaganda Minister for the World War II Allies, regarding the Third Reich and National Socialism. For he, like Merkel and the others, continues to ignore many facts, and only dutifully reminds Germans of the guilt of their forefathers (and by extension, their own "inherited" guilt), based upon a highly sanitized "official version" of history.
There are always two sides to every story, and now the Germans are finally telling theirs. This film is a "must see" for anyone with a sense of justice, honour, fairness and dignity, who have respect for ALL of the victims of World War II (not merely the "politically correct" ones) and who are interested in an accurate account of history. Indeed, if we are to learn from history, and not be doomed to repeat it, then we must also have a fair and accurate account from which to draw our conclusions and upon which to make decisions in the present, and for our future.
This film has broken through the 60+ year old taboos. Truth has breached the barbed-wire fences of "political correctness", and is making a desperate run for it's life.

This conference was on September 19, 2012 in Australia. followed by Q/A session.
----------------------
Pappe was born to a German Jewish family in Haifa, Israel. His parents fled Nazi persecution in the 1930s. At the age of 18, he was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces, serving in the Golan Heights during the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
Pappe has been described as one of the Israeli "new historians". A group of historians who are so-called because of their writings, based on access to material released, by the British and Israeli archive, in the 1880's.
He was formerly a senior lecturer in political science at the University of Haifa (1984-2007) and chair of the Emil Touma Institute for Palestinian and Israeli Studies in Haifa (2000-2008).
