In basketball, a flagrant foul is a serious personal foul. A foul is considered flagrant when it involves excessive or violent contact that could injure the fouled player. A flagrant foul may be unintentional or purposeful; the latter type is simultaneously known as an "intentional foul" in the NCAA. However, most intentional fouls are not considered "flagrant" and are performed safely as a necessity for time management.
The NBA flagrant foul rule was enacted in the 1990s as an attempt to deter contact which, in addition to being against the rules, puts an opponent's safety and health at risk. According to the NBA rulebook, it applies to contact that puts safety and health at risk.
The NBA defines two levels of flagrant fouls, typically referred to as "Flagrant 1" and "Flagrant 2". Referees have discretion in determining which level to call, but the primary distinction is that a Flagrant 2 results in the immediate ejection of the offender. A player who receives two Flagrant 1 fouls in a single game is also ejected upon the second foul.
Zaza Pachulia (Georgian: ზაზა ფაჩულია; February 10, 1984) is a Georgian professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born as Zaur Pachulia, but his first name was legally changed to Zaza.
While he holds Turkish citizenship, Pachulia plays internationally for Georgia, captaining his national team in multiple tournaments.
Pachulia was a very successful basketball player at a very early age in Georgia. He was approximately 6 feet 8 inches (2.03 meters) at the age of 13. He was scouted and recruited by the Turkish professional team Ülkerspor when he was a teenager. He became a member of the Georgian junior national basketball team at a young age, leading them at center to beat other Eastern European rivals, such as Belarus and Bulgaria.
Once he distinguished himself with Ülkerspor, Pachulia was drafted in the second round by the Orlando Magic during the 2003 NBA draft. After being selected in the 2004 expansion draft by the Charlotte Bobcats, he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks where he played the 2004–05 season. While with the Bucks, Pachulia averaged 6.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game off the bench.
An athletic director (commonly "athletics director" or "AD") is an administrator at many clubs or institutions, like colleges and universities, as well as in larger high schools and middle schools, who oversees the work of coaches and related staff involved in athletic programs.
Modern athletic directors are often in a precarious position, especially at the larger institutions. Although technically in charge of all of the coaches, they are often far less well-compensated and also less famous, with few having their own television and radio programs as many coaches now do. In attempting to deal with misconduct by coaches, they often find their efforts trumped by a coach's powerful connections, particularly if he is an established figure with a long-term winning record. However, in the case of severe coaching misconduct being proven, often the athletic director will be terminated along with the offending coach.
Formerly, especially at major football-playing institutions, particularly in the South, the head football coach was also the "AD". Among the coaches to hold simultaneously hold the AD position were Bear Bryant (Texas A&M and Alabama), Ray Perkins (Alabama), Frank Broyles (Arkansas), Shug Jordan (Auburn), Vince Dooley (Georgia), John Vaught (Ole Miss) and Darrell Royal (Texas). Broyles retired as Arkansas football coach in 1976, but remained as Razorbacks athletic director through 2007. LSU was one of the exceptions to the rule in the south.
Kyle Brandon O'Quinn (born March 26, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played for the Norfolk State Spartans, and led the Spartans to a victory over the #2 seed Missouri Tigers in the second round of the 2012 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. He was drafted in the second round of the 2012 NBA draft with the 49th overall pick by the Orlando Magic.
O'Quinn originally attended Math, Science Research & Technology High School at the Campus Magnet Complex to play football and almost quit basketball when he didn't play as a junior. In his senior year, he averaged twenty points and twelve rebounds per game, but his only scholarship offer was to Norfolk State University.
In O'Quinn's freshman season at Norfolk State, he appeared in all 31 games including two starts. He averaged 5.3 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per game. He was also twice named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference rookie of the week.
In American football, The Fumble refers to a play in the AFC Championship Game between the Browns and Broncos on January 17, 1988 at Mile High Stadium. With 1:12 left in the game, Browns running back Earnest Byner fumbled on the Broncos 1 yard line while trying to score a game-tying touchdown. The Broncos went on to win 38–33 after taking an intentional safety.
The same two teams had met in the previous AFC Championship Game. That game also ended in victory for the Broncos and featured a famous five-minute, 98-yard touchdown drive led by quarterback John Elway, known simply as The Drive, to take the game into overtime.
During the game, the Broncos jumped to a 21–3 halftime lead, but Browns' quarterback Bernie Kosar led them back with four second-half touchdowns. By the middle of the fourth quarter, the game was tied at 31. The Broncos then took the lead on a long drive that ended with a 20-yard touchdown pass from Elway to running back Sammy Winder, making it 38–31 with 6 minutes left. Cleveland responded by advancing the ball to Denver's 8-yard line with 1:12 left, setting the stage for the play that made this game one of the most famous in NFL lore.

The Spurs were hurting the warriors on the scoreboard so Zaza Pachulia a decided to project the pain back onto kawhi leonard. Kawhi Leonard rolled his ankle when stepping on the foot of one of his teammates sitting on the bench, and the second one that knocked him out of the game came a minute later when he landed on Zaza Pachulia’s foot during a contested jump shot, which fans thought it was a Dirty Flagrant foul. Kawhi Leonard limped off the floor with the help of the Spurs trainer. After the game, Pachulia and Leonard talked about the play that caused Kawhi to leave the game and both said it wasn’t a ...
Desperate times call for desperate measures. In an almost exact recreation of the Warriors blowout of the Cleveland Cavaliers where LeBron James attempted to flop to shift momentum, Russell Westbrook pulled out the same trick in hopes of swaying the game in the Thunder's favor. Westbrook and Zaza Pachulia wrestled for the ball when Russ went down as if taking a Mike Tyson uppercut. Zaza Pachulia wasn't buying it, as he stood over Westbrook's seemingly lifeless corpse as if to say "if he dies, he dies" like Ivan Drago in Rocky IV. Is Kyle O'Quinn related to Kylo Ren at all? Because this flagrant-2 foul was DARKSIDED. Pelicans star Anthony Davis was having another Anthony Davis type game, meaning he was KILLING it on the court against the New York Knicks. Kyle O'Quinn must have gotten frustrated over getting shown up by AD, because this foul was absolutely unnecessary. The flagrant got O'Quinn ejected from the game. Carmelo Anthony joined him in the locker room, as the Knicks dropped the disastrous game against the Pelicans by the final score of 110-96.
