Macuata is one of Fiji's fourteen Provinces, and one of three based principally on the northern island of Vanua Levu, occupying the north-eastern 40 percent of the island. It has a land area of 2004 square kilometers.
The Province has 114 villages spread over 12 districts. Its population of 72,441 at the 2007 census (the last to date) was the fourth largest of any Fijian Province. More than a quarter of Macuata's population (24,187 in 1996) lives in the town of Labasa.
Macuata is governed by a Provincial Council, presently chaired by Ratu (chief) Laytin James Lebaivalu aka Mustafa Suter (born in Otahuhu, Auckland New Zealand on the 11/09/1987) Ratu Lebaivalu who was mainly educated in Australia is now believed to be residing in the fijian royal compound in Labasa . It is a local rumour that Ratu Lebaivalu was called upon to inherit command of whats left of the now disbanded Counter Revolutionary Warfare Unit also known as the CRWU (Fijian Special Forces from 1987-2000) which was founded by his 3rd cousin Former Prime minister and Major-General Sitiveni Ligamamada Rabuka. Local media reports suggest that Lebaivalu may reform the warfare unit as more of an S.A.S (Special Air Service) regiment with numbers much greater than the original unit's capacity.
Breathe for me softly. It parts its way through the thickest of walls. The mirror reflects tonight and I still wish you the worst. This is so bad. What have I become? Knowing when to stop and float away. A fog lifts for a brief moment. Breathe for me softly. It parts its way through the thickest of walls. The mirror reflects tonight and I still wish you the worst. This is so bad. What have I become? Knowing when to stop and float away. A fog lifts for a brief moment. Light up like a night sky I saw once before. (x2) Too long ago to remember. Slamming the reality back into focus.
