Roger Collins
Roger J. H. Collins (born 1949) is an English medievalist, currently an honorary fellow in history at the University of Edinburgh.
Collins studied at the University of Oxford (Queen's and Saint Cross Colleges) under Peter Brown and John Michael Wallace-Hadrill. He then taught ancient and medieval history at the universities of Liverpool and Bristol. He arrived at the University of Edinburgh in 1994 and joined the Institute of Advanced Studies in the Humanities before becoming an honorary fellow in the Department of History (now the School of History, Classics and Archaeology) in 1998.
His research has primarily concerned the Early Middle Ages, with an emphasis on Spain, but also the Franks. His studies on the Basques and the Papacy (ongoing) have extended beyond this medieval period into the modern. His most recent publication is a book on the seventh- and eighth-century versions of the Chronicle of Fredegar for the Monumenta Germaniae Historica.

Roger
Roger is an English male given name and surname, from the Anglo-Norman French Roger, Rogier, which is itself derived from Germanic words (hroth, hruod and ger) meaning respectively "fame" and "spear". In Anglo-Saxon sources the name is first recorded, in the Dark Age epic poem Beowulf, as Hroðgar ("glorious spear-bearer").
The name is also found in the Netherlands in the form Rutger, and in German as Rüdiger. The Latin form, as used by a few medieval figures, is Rogerius. A Welsh variation is the family name Rosser.
Slang
Roger is also a short version of the term "Jolly Roger", which refers to a black flag with white skull and crossbones, formerly used by sea pirates since as early as 1723.
From c.1650 to c.1870, Roger was slang for the word "penis", probably due to the origin of the name involving fame with a spear. Subsequently, "to roger" became a slang verb form meaning "to have sex with"/"to penetrate".
In 19th century England, Roger was slang for the cloud of toxic green gas that swept through the chlorine bleach factories periodically.

Dark Shadows
Dark Shadows is an American gothic soap opera that originally aired weekdays on the ABC television network, from June 27, 1966, to April 2, 1971. The show depicted the lives and loves, trials and tribulations of the wealthy Collins family of Collinsport, Maine.
The series became hugely popular when vampire Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid) appeared a year into its run. Dark Shadows also featured ghosts, werewolves, zombies, man-made monsters, witches, warlocks, time travel, and a parallel universe. A small company of actors each played many roles; indeed, as actors came and went, some characters were played by more than one actor.
Dark Shadows was distinguished by its vividly melodramatic performances, atmospheric interiors, memorable storylines, numerous dramatic plot twists, adventurous music score, broad cosmos of characters and heroic adventures. The original network run of the show lasted for nearly five years to amass 1,225 episodes.
It continues to enjoy an intense cult following. In 2004 and 2007, Dark Shadows was ranked #19 and #23 on TV Guide's Top Cult Shows Ever.

Collins was born in Santa Anna, Texas, moving to San Francisco, California as a teenager.[1] He won a talent show in Oakland, before studying drama in San Francisco. He sang in clubs, and in the early 1960s was signed by Fantasy Records, who issued his records on their subsidiary Galaxy label.[2] Although his first two singles were unsuccessful, his third record, "She's Looking Good", written by Collins and arranged by Ray Shanklin, reached number 44 on the Billboard R&B; chart and number 101 on the pop chart in 1966.[3] The song was later a bigger hit for Wilson Pickett, and was also recorded by David Lee Roth, and by Jack Mack and the Heart Attack for the 1985 movie Tuff Turf.[4] Collins' other notable recordings included, in 1970, "Foxy Girls in Oakland", written by Joe Crane of the Hoodoo Rhythm Devils; and "You Sexy Sugar Plum" released on Fantasy Records in 1973.[5] The latter track peaked at number 22 in the UK Singles Chart when reissued in 1976 in response to demand on the northern soul scene.[6] Collins was noted for his energetic performances, which included a stint opening for Elvis Presley and Ike & Tina Turner in Las Vegas, Nevada in the mid-1970s. He also wrote songs recorded by other singers, including Charles Brown and Sugar Pie DeSanto.[2] After touring with Joe Tex, Collins converted to Islam, and changed his name to Rajah Kasim Sabrie. He largely retired from performing in 1974, later establishing an appliance repair business in Oakland. He also set up Garden Tree Music to release his own recordings, issuing the albums Through My Eyes (2009) and Just One More Time (2013).[ -

Collins was born in Santa Anna, Texas, moving to San Francisco, California as a teenager.[1] He won a talent show in Oakland, before studying drama in San Francisco. ROGER COLLINS-soulful train
Collins was born in Santa Anna, Texas, moving to San Francisco, California as a teenager.[1] He won a talent show in Oakland, before studying drama in San Francisco. He sang in clubs, and in the early 1960s was signed by Fantasy Records, who issued his records on their subsidiary Galaxy label.[2] Although his first two singles were unsuccessful, his third record, "She's Looking Good", written by Collins and arranged by Ray Shanklin, reached number 44 on the Billboard R&B; chart and number 101 on the pop chart in 1966.[3] The song was later a bigger hit for Wilson Pickett, and was also recorded by David Lee Roth, and by Jack Mack and the Heart Attack for the 1985 movie Tuff Turf.[4] Collins' other notable recordings included, in 1970, "Foxy Girls in Oakland", written by Joe Crane of the Hood...

Collins was born in Santa Anna, Texas, moving to San Francisco, California as a teenager.[1] He won a talent show in Oakland, before studying drama in San Francisco. He sang in clubs, and in the early 1960s was signed by Fantasy Records, who issued his records on their subsidiary Galaxy label.[2] Although his first two singles were unsuccessful, his third record, "She's Looking Good", written by Collins and arranged by Ray Shanklin, reached number 44 on the Billboard R&B; chart and number 101 on the pop chart in 1966.[3] The song was later a bigger hit for Wilson Pickett, and was also recorded by David Lee Roth, and by Jack Mack and the Heart Attack for the 1985 movie Tuff Turf.[4]
Collins' other notable recordings included, in 1970, "Foxy Girls in Oakland", written by Joe Crane of the Hoodoo Rhythm Devils; and "You Sexy Sugar Plum" released on Fantasy Records in 1973.[5] The latter track peaked at number 22 in the UK Singles Chart when reissued in 1976 in response to demand on the northern soul scene.[6] Collins was noted for his energetic performances, which included a stint opening for Elvis Presley and Ike & Tina Turner in Las Vegas, Nevada in the mid-1970s. He also wrote songs recorded by other singers, including Charles Brown and Sugar Pie DeSanto.[2]
After touring with Joe Tex, Collins converted to Islam, and changed his name to Rajah Kasim Sabrie. He largely retired from performing in 1974, later establishing an appliance repair business in Oakland. He also set up Garden Tree Music to release his own recordings, issuing the albums Through My Eyes (2009) and Just One More Time (2013).[

Al-Andalus (Arabic: الأنْدَلُس, trans. al-ʼAndalus; Spanish: al-Ándalus; Portuguese: al-Ândalus; Catalan: al-Àndalus; Berber: Andalus), also known as Muslim Spain or Islamic Iberia, was a medieval Muslim territory and cultural domain occupying at its peak most of what are today Spain and Portugal. At its greatest geographical extent in the eighth century, southern France—Septimania—was briefly under its control. The name more generally describes parts of the Iberian Peninsula governed by Muslims (given the generic name of Moors) at various times between 711 and 1492, though the boundaries changed constantly as the Christian Reconquista progressed.[1][2][3]
Following the Umayyad conquest of Hispania, al-Andalus, then at its greatest extent, was divided into five administrative units, corresponding roughly to modern Andalusia, Portugal and Galicia, Castile and León, Navarre, Aragon, the County of Barcelona, and Septimania.[4] As a political domain, it successively constituted a province of the Umayyad Caliphate, initiated by the Caliph Al-Walid I (711–750); the Emirate of Córdoba (c. 750–929); the Caliphate of Córdoba (929–1031); and the Caliphate of Córdoba's taifa (successor) kingdoms. Rule under these kingdoms led to a rise in cultural exchange and cooperation between Muslims and Christians. Christians and Jews were subject to a special tax called Jizya, to the state, which in return provided internal autonomy in practicing their religion and offered the same level of protections by the Muslim rulers.[5] Under the Caliphate of Córdoba, al-Andalus was a beacon of learning, and the city of Córdoba became one of the leading cultural and economic centres in Europe and throughout the Mediterranean Basin and the Islamic world. A number of achievements that advanced Islamic and Western science came from al-Andalus including major advances in trigonometry (Geber), astronomy (Arzachel), surgery (Abulcasis), pharmacology (Avenzoar), and other fields. Al-Andalus became a major educational center for Europe and the lands around the Mediterranean Sea as well as a conduit for culture and science between the Islamic and Christian worlds.
For much of its history, al-Andalus existed in conflict with Christian kingdoms to the north. After the fall of the Umayyad caliphate, al-Andalus was fragmented into a number of minor states and principalities. Attacks from the Christians intensified, led by the Castilians under Alfonso VI. The Almoravid empire intervened and repelled the Christian attacks on the region, deposing the weak Andalusi Muslim princes and included al-Andalus under direct Berber rule. In the next century and a half, al-Andalus became a province of the Berber Muslim empires of the Almoravids and Almohads, both based in Marrakesh.

For many general contractors, working with subcontractors can be a challenge. When it comes to working with our team at Solid Form Fabrication, however, we take pride in doing what we promise and delivering on time. Construction is a very time-sensitive industry, and we have to ensure we stick to deadlines in order to keep the overall project on time.
We like to go above and beyond; unlike other metal fabricators, our involvement spans from idea conception to completion/installation. Other fabricators often just drop off their completed work which doesn't allow for modifications if something doesn't fit quite right. We install our work to ensure the finished product is to the contractor's and client's specifications.
