Magyars Overview AoE2
I heard you were hungry for a Magyar overview :D
...yeah I'll stop...
This video is about my thoughts and some objective numbers having to do with the Magyars in AoE2. If you don't recognize this civilization from your version, you probably don't have the Forgotten Empires expansion :)
I talk about the Magyars' civ bonuses, the Huszar vs Hussar, and do my tech tree grades, as usual.

Aoe2 HD: 3v5 MegaRandom (Magyar Huszars & Scorpions)
In this match I played as the Magyars on the map MegaRandom in a 3v5 between me and the viewers. This time I decided to go for a Fast Castle Age into Fire Ships and then make some mass Magyar Huszars. Out of all of the new civilizations in The Forgotten, the Magyars are definitely one of my favorites because of their unique unit, the Magyar Huszar. It is essentially a Hussar with an attack bonus v

Aoe2 HD: 3v5 Black Forest (Magyars, Map Concepts)
In this match I played a 3v5 as the Maygar civilization on the map Black Forest. Throughout this match I explained a bunch of important concepts that can help improve your game on Black Forest and other similarly "closed" maps. For most of this I was just holding the line against several players and attempting to stall while my other teammates pressured the other half of the map. In the end this w

Tribute to the Mighty Magyars
This is a tribute to one of the best (if not the best) national teams on history: Puskas's Hungary, an unstopabble squad that played together from 1950 to 1956. This fantastic group had not only Ferenc Puskas, which was a legitimate Football legend, but also other notable players, like Sandor Kocsis, Nandor Hidegkuti, Laszlo Budai, Zoltan Czibor and Josef Bozsik. The manager of the team was Gustav

Final heartbreak
All eyes were on the Hungary captain going into the 1954 Final. Was he completely over his injury? Not wanting to miss the match, the pinnacle of his career to date, Puskas played despite suggestions that he was not fully fit. The Magical Magyars enjoyed a perfect start, Puskas seemingly silencing all the doubters by opening the scoring in just the sixth minute.

In this match I played a 3v5 as the Magyars on the map MegaRandom. The map generation was pretty strange this time, so my Castle Age ended up being delayed a bit. Kertai Zalán's representations of the ancestors of the Hungarians are based on descriptions from historical documents and archeological data. In history books today, Atilla is presented as a short, stocky barbarian and Magyars are presented barbarian hordes, who conquered the Carpathian Basin in AD. 895. This album helps to dispel this concept. We can see the military strength of the Scythians, Huns and Magyars and the dexterity of the horse-archers. The Scythians were the first to develop the composite bow, which could shoot up to 800 meters and they developed the use of trousers and boots suitable for life on horseback. This book is important because it traces the history of the equestrian peoples and demonstrates the connections between the Sumerians, Scythians, Huns and Magyars and the Hungarians of today.
László Botos - Historian, researcher (Groton, USA), author of 'The Homeland Reclaimed' and 'The Road to the Dictated Peace'
The painter-artist Kertai Zalán's excellent drawings introduce a new approach to the military spirit existing in the Scythian - Hun - Avar - Magyar military culture. In the Foreword written by László Botos and in the Introduction and the text of the book written by Kárpáti Gábor Csaba we can read and see the historical background of the Magyars' brave and heroic ancestors and their famous chiefs. The book authentically presents the military equipment used in that period. I recommend this book to everybody who wants to get acquainted with the glorious past of the Hungarians.

Author Frank Sandor explores Hungarian origins prior to the 9th century AD. This video is intended as a very brief summary of his book, Magyar Origins (Second Edition). It presents in a very basic form the idea that both Hungarians and the main body of Uralic speakers were in the Hindu Kush region as their languages were developing. The video also presents one piece of evidence from the book showing that Hungarians were practicing Vedic-Hinduism, possibly a very early form of Buddhism, when they arrived in Europe. Presented in the video is the fact that Hungarians were using the Dharma moon in their iconography, a distinctly Buddhist symbol. The video also shows that if Hungarians were practicing an early form of Buddhism then logically Sanskrit, the languages used to record Vedic and Buddhist teachings, would have been highly influential in the development of the Hungarian language. Briefly presented are the phonological errors that occurred as Sanskrit was developed into Hungarian.
There is test that verifies the Uralic languages are not closely related to Turkic but are instead closely related to Sanskrit:
Pronouns are not normally loan words. The word for you is the same in all Uralic languages 'te'. In fact it is the only word that is identical between Finnish, Estonian and Hungarian with no sound changes. This shows that the word 'te' is extremely resistant to sound changes. It is unlikely that 'te' would be the same in the Uralic languages but then be significantly different in related language families. Altaic languages like Turkic and Korean do not contain that strong 'te' sound for the word you, they use an 's' sound. Sanskrit on the other hand does contain 'te' in the form of 'tva'. In Hindi it became 'tu'. The related Indo-European languages display that same resistance to changing the sound of 'te'.
French = te and tu
Bulgarian = te
Romanian = tu
Irish = tú
Polish = ty
Russian = "ty (ты)" and "tebe" (тебе)
and so forth.
Not only do the Uralic languages share the same word for thou with Indo-European but they both display the same resistance to changing the sound, a combination that rules out pure chance as the source for its existence in both language groups. It's shared existence equally among the Uralic languages also rules out 'te' being a loan word from Indo-European as loan words do not tend to be resistant to sound changes in the adoptive languages since the word is adopted into a foreign set of language rules.

It is essentially a Hussar with an attack bonus vs siege, but the best part is that after you upgrade them they do not cost any gold to produce.

In this match I played as the Magyars on the map Oasis in a 3v5 between me and the viewers. For a quick change of pace I decided to open with a Scout Rush and then transition into Knights. There were no survivors. This match is a bit older and was from the last live stream I did in 2014, hence me talking about finishing the War is Coming series. I'll do more War is Coming stuff in the future once I have more free time, and perhaps commentate on some other miscellaneous expert Aoe2 matches. When going for a Scout Rush it is important that you reach the Feudal Age relatively quickly (10-12 mins, 21ish population) and that you assign all of your Dark Age villagers to Food and Wood since you won't need any gold/stone just yet. You want have your Scouts pick off villagers that are far from the enemy Town Center, such as Lumberjacks, Gold Miners, etc. Use hit and run tactics to avoid losing any Scouts if you can. The same general rule applies to raiding with Knights too, except if you get enough (maybe 20+) you might be able to actually destroy the Town Centers directly. To counter Dark/Feudal Age aggression I always recommend positioning your buildings to form a makeshift wall and making good use of pallisade walls. It may also be wise to leave a few spearmen guarding your Lumber and Mining Camps.

Uigurs, Kazakhs, Bashkirs, some other peoples of Siberia, Central Asia and the Urals descend in part from the ancient R1b1 branch, and by now retain the same haplogroup for 16,000 years. Comparison of R1b haplotypes of the Uigurs on the one hand, and Chuvashes, Bulgars, and Hungarians on the other, shows that the Uigurs usually have the more ancient subgroup R1b1b1, which predominantly remained in Asia. The common ancestor of both Asian and European haplotypes lived in Asia 16000 years ago. That apparently is the minimum lower time limit for the Proto-Türkic languages. The R1b haplotypes in the Balkans have "12" in that marker in 50% of the cases, in Italy 27%. In Slovenia that parameter is 20%, with the "age" of the common ancestor 4250 ± 600 years. All these are a branch of the Türks, "Kurganians", "ancient Pit Gravers", that crossed from the Eastern European Plain either directly around the Black Sea to the Balkans, and further on to the the Apennines, or through the Asia Minor. The others, went to Europe via Anatolia through the Middle East, North Africa to the Pyrenees. That was a Beaker Culture.
18% of the Magyar Szeklers have R1b1, 15% have R1a1. Another one initial "Türkic" haplogroup Q numbers 4%. The first four haplotypes have allele 12 in the first marker (16% of the total, much higher than the typical European 3-5%), which corresponds to the "Kurgan Culture" ancient haplotype. Apparently, that is the starting point of the Hungarian Seklers ancestral migration. As a result, the Sekler haplotypes of the R1b1b2 haplogroup already represent a younger age of these Türkic carriers of the R1b (common ancestors 4000 ybp). The Türkic-lingual Asian carriers of R1b remained in Asia. 5700-5100 years ago in the North Kazakhstan they established Botai Archeological Culture, and according to the latest data 5500 years ago domesticated the horse (Archaeology, Jan-Feb 2010). In addition to the Botai settlement dated 3700-3100 BC, definitely haplogroup R1b, since the carriers of the R1a1 appeared in those places were only one and a half - two thousand years later. (http://s155239215.onlinehome.us/turkic/60_Genetics/Klyosov2010DNK-GenealogyEn.htm)
Bearers of R1b haplogroup along their migration route to the M. East and S. Mesopotamia apparently have established the Sumer culture (and the state), moving westward to Europe (5000-4500 ybp) carrying mainly the R-M269 subclade and its downstream L23 subclade.

Genetic evidence has linked early Magyars eastward as well to the Ujghurs, living in East-Eurasia around the town of Ürümqi (China, East Turkestan). The name of several Magyar tribes are of Oghur origin which may prove that Oghur tribes also joined to the Magyars.
Approaches based on "map-stratification" have compared burial sites, ornamental motifs (tulips, cranes), leather and felt garments, mythological images, sacrificial cauldrons, folk poetry, folk music, lullabies, together with written documents and genetic findings to narrow down the most likely Magyar urheimat to the grassy land surrounded by four freshwater lakes (Caspian, Aral, Balkhash, and Baikal).
Scientists has been struggling with the ancient roots of the nomadic Turkic tribes for a long time, and while they lean toward Mesopotamian roots, at least in the case of their ruling caste, there were many tribes and we know little about these people or the route of their migration from the Near East to Mongolia due to an immense falsification of history. Commited by "Power-X"-like organizations such as the Vatican.
We know that reports of the Turkic Xiongnu appear in their annals around 1200 B.C. This would have, assumedly, been after the Trojan War which spurred so much movement of peoples around the Black Sea region.
Various myths and name-connections suggest that Subartu was the fount from where these Turkic nomadic tribes originated, and it's curious that this is where the Mittani appeared. We can't forget however that these tribes were, generally speaking, caucasian (i.e. blue eyed, red or blond haired) as noted in the Chinese annals and evident from mummies dug up in Mongolia. Should the nomadic "Turkic tribes" who eventually formed the kingdom of Khazaria in this "dragon-culture" narrative be pegged to Subartu, one of the "four quarters" named in Akkadian texts?
Scythia, inhabited by related peoples sometimes referred to as "Gogi", from which the nomadic "Turkic" tribes sprang, many of whom migrated to Mongolia to become the Xiongnu and later (on their way back) the Hunnic federation which included the Magyars, Khazars, Bulgars etc.

In the end this was a very close game and I was not sure who would win till the final moments.

2,500 BC In the historical period, Sabirs had inglorious beginning. In earliest Mesopotamia, the word "Subarian" became a synonym for slave. Apparently, Sabirs were kyshtyms of the Sumerian Kangars
750 BC Hesiod, 7th Century BC, writes: Inventors of bronze working were Scythians. The early Mesopotamian name for metal is Zubur, indicating that northern Mesopotamian Subartuans or a people of that region were indeed inventors of process.
124 BC Sabir (Sabaroi) are allied with Asi (Ases, Yazig, or Asiani), and Tochars, break into Sogdiana and Bactria. In next five years two Parthian emperors loose their lives in wars. The manager of the team was Gustav Sebes. The most fascinating achievments of the Golden team was triunphyng on the 1952 Olympics, and two matches against England, a 6-3, at the Wembley Stadium, and a 7-1, which took place on the Nepstadion. The 6-3 victory is also known as the "Match of the Century". Unfortunately, they lost the 1954 World Cup to West Germany, and theteam was definitely dismantled after the Soviet Invasion of Hungary in 1956. But their magical passes and revolutionary game will stay forever printed on the memory of Hungary and of the world. Hope you enjoy!
P.S.: The music on the background is a Hungarian translation of the 1944 version of the Soviet National Anthem, performed by the chorus and symphony orchestra of the Hungarian radio and conducted by Andras Korodi.

Two minutes later it was 2-0 but in the pouring rain in Berne, West Germany responded. By the break it was 2-2, and with three minutes remaining Helmut Rahn struck the Germans' third goal. There was still time for Puskas to find the net but his effort was disallowed for offside. After 31 matches undefeated, Hungary were beaten.
Following the Final, that great Hungary team gradually disintegrated and Puskas' own life was soon to change dramatically. In 1956, he travelled with Honved to Spain for a UEFA European Cup fixture against Athletic Bilbao that coincided with a period of national uprising in Hungary. Puskas and a number of his team-mates never returned home, taking sanctuary in the West. After a 15-month suspension from football, the now 31-year-old's friend Emil Oestreicher, Honved's financial secretary during his latter years at the club who had scored a job as Real Madrid's technical director, persuaded his new employers to recruit Puskas.
There he embarked on the next hugely successful chapter of his career. Forging one of the game's most famous strike partnerships alongside the great Alfredo Di Stefano, Puskas helped Real Madrid to five league crowns, establishing them as one of the most dominant forces in Europe. His finest hour came in the 1960 UEFA European Cup final in front of 130,000 fans at Glasgow's Hampden Park, where los Merenguesbeat Eintracht Frankfurt 7-3. Di Stefano scored a hat-trick but the evening belonged to Puskas, who struck four times in a legendary victory. He ended that season with an incredible 35 goals in 39 games.
In 1962, Puskas was called up by the Spanish national team for the FIFA World Cup in Chile. It proved an unhappy campaign, Spain going home after the group stage with Puskas unable to find the net. Puskas remained with Madrid until 1967, before retiring aged 40 having recorded 324 goals in 372 games for the Spanish giants. He turned to coaching and led Panathinaikos to the 1971 European Cup final as coach, but his greatest personal triumph came in 1992, when he returned to his homeland, Hungary, to live at the age of 65.

The Magical Magyars enjoyed a perfect start, Puskas seemingly silencing all the doubters by opening the scoring in just the sixth minute.

In this match I played a 3v5 as the Magyars on the map MegaRandom. The map generation was pretty strange this time, so my Castle Age ended up being delayed a bit. Despite that, my Cavalry Archer rush proved to be quite effective. However, that period of victory would prove to be short-lived as the entire enemy team decided to raid me non-stop for half the match. In Part 1, I defend my base and build up while preparing my eventual counter attack.

That laughter cost him his career, and he will remember for ever this "blooper".
I found the translation and subtitled this video.
Nobody should laugh at others the way he did, but he couldn´t help it.

This guy can´t stop laughing at his guest´s voice. To make things worse, there are two strange voices in his talk show.
That laughter cost him his career, and he will remember for ever this "blooper".
I found the translation and subtitled this video.
Nobody should laugh at others the way he did, but he couldn´t help it.

Hungarian schoolboys are interviewed by American soldiers of US 11th Armored Division at Freyung, Germany in World War II
American soldiers interviewing prisoners at the US 11th Armored Division Prisoner of War enclosure in Freyung, Germany near the end of World War 2. An American Army Sergeant questions a young man with help of another Sergeant, interpreter, who speaks to him in German. The boy identifies himself as being Hungarian from the Royal Hungarian High School. The boy tells them he learned marching drill, but had no weapons training. He had been enrolled four years, and had never been engaged in combat with Americans. He states his age as 14 years. Scene shifts to another interview with a smaller boy. The interpreter asks if he speaks German. The boy says no, he is Hungarian. Nevertheless, with some difficulty, they determine that he too is from the Hungarian military school. When asked about his military training, the boy answers by demonstrating, standing at attention, saluting, and simple close order drill actions. They determine that he is in the third year of school. The film director calls for a cut at this point. They resume asking if he ever fought against Americans. He has difficulty understanding but eventually says no. The boy is 12 years old. Location: Freyung Germany. Date: April 29, 1945.

A camera operator at a Hungarian television station has been caught on camera kicking and tripping running Syrian refugees. Ana Kasparian (The Point), and John Iadarola (Think Tank), hosts of the The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
"They say reporters shouldn’t try to make themselves part of the story, but perhaps someone should have told the camera crews.
A photographer, reportedly working for Hungarian news station N1TV, was caught on camera tripping a Syrian refugee who was trying to escape from the police in the village of Röszke. The refugee was carrying a child at the time.”*

The Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto says his country will give refugees a shelter but it cannot accommodate economic migrants. Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said Europe's Christian heritage was under threat because most of the migrants were Muslims.
Hungary had 43,000 asylum seekers in 2014 but offered asylum to fewer than 300 people. But Mr Szijjarto said it did not matter what the religion of a refugee was: “If someone is a refugee we give him or her, a shelter. That is what we have been doing,” he told HARDtalk’s Stephen Sackur.

A Hungarian TV reporter is catching all kinds of shade after video released of her tripping Syrian migrants trying to enter her native country. The woman had no problems tripping not only men, but women and children. Father of two @KevOnStage definitely feels some type of way about this, and Cynthia is not far behind. Do you think this video will bring much needed attention to the issues going on in the Middle East? Tell us in the comments below! #ADD #TheDrop

Interview about Gonçalo Ferraz @ RTL Klub [Hungarian] SHARE PLEASE

On the 11th of May, at 5.30 AM, Gonçalo Ferraz, was seen last in Budapest, Hungary, when together with one of his friends decided to jump into the Danube river, from the east side of the Elisabeth bridge, facing the Green Bridge. One of the boys who jumped with him made it out of the river, and did not see Gonçalo again. The Budapest police has made several attempts at looking for his body in the river, and they are looking at every possible angle, and kidnapping isn't out of question.
ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
Searches for the portuguese boy continue. He was last seen, on Friday May 11th, when he jumped into the Danube River, from Elizabeth Bridge, together with a friend. The whole family and friends are participating on this search, hoping he survived the jump.
The divers keep searching, today, in the south part of the Daunbe River.
They are looking for this portuguese boy who studied in our country. He jumped into the river on May 11th, and after jumping he disappeared. The family arrived to Budapest on the same day, later in the evening.
His father tells what happened, and what is written in the police report.
- "On Friday night, around 5:30 a.m. a group of students was crossing the bridge, but my son and a friendof him were around 15 meters behind. Him and his friend decided to jump into the river. His friend, who is French, jumped first, and as he said later, they knew they had to be fast after jumping. The flow of the river is strong. His french friend, said he had seen my son's head after he jumped into the river, but he was not absolutely sure. His friend arrived at the border to the river as they had previously agreed, but my son disappeared. "
Goncalo studies as an exchange students in our country. A carismatic, nice, friendly, boy with many friends.
(Father) "Two weeks ago I spoke to him for the last time. My wife contacted Goncalo daily through skype. That night, he told his mother that he would be attending an Erasmus party. "
(Diver) " The flow of the river is very strong. When the boy jumped into the river, the flow was very rapid. On the first day we started searching, we went near the bridge he jumped, today, the searches are already 10km away from it. The river carries many objects underneath, that cant be seen from the outside. The water is not transparent, and the view from above is almost impossible. Underneath the water, we work with ropes, always looking at the borders of the river.
The police knows familiar stories to this. It has happened, that a person that was missing was able to get out of the river, without injuries, and then couldnt or didnt want to speak about what happened, was traumatized. The family has hope. Hope, that their sportive son, and good swimmer, was able to swim out of Danube River, and is in an unknown place.
(Father) " It is true, i have hope, hope that my son is alive, in an unknown place. It is a fact, that we have been looking in various places, underneath the water. I, myself, went on the seraching boat. At this moment my wife, and my oldest son are in the boat. "
The parents, with their other two sons, and other family members and friends from Lisbon are now in Budapest.
(Pedro) " Goncalo really liked to be in Budapest. He called me at that night, and texted me. He wrote, that he was at an amazing party. And then, never called again."
All his friends are contributing with all efforts through the internet, to try to get and share the information. Every day, more and more people are helping and contributing in the disappearance of Gonçalo. Everyone is waiting for a phone call, with the hope of hearing Gonçalo's voice again.

A felirat gombnak pirosnak kell lennie, ha kell felirat!/Subtitle button has to be red for HUN subtitle!
Interview with Joe Flanigan with added Hungarian subtitles :) I don't own anything of the video but the base of the subtitles, the translation. Joe Flanigan played the character of Major/Lt. Colonel John Sheppard in Stargate Atlantis and he played in many other tv-shows such as Thoughtcrimes, Providence, The Other Side.
The interview was made by Serieasten TV at FedCon XIX (which was from 30th April till 2nd May 2010 in Bonn, Germany).
Enjoy :)
Joe Flanigan-nel készített interjú a 2010-es 19. FedCon-on a Serieasten TV által. Semmit se birtoklok a videóból, leszámítva a felirat alapjául szolgáló fordítást. John Shepphard őrnagyot/alezredest alakította a Csillagkapu Atlantisz sorozatban, valamint játszott olyan tv-filmekben/sorozatokban, mint a Gondolatbűnök (Thoughtcrimes), a Providence, illetve a The Other Side (A Másik Oldal).
Jó szórakozást :)
