The fundraising operation behind the future Obama presidential library named new board members on Thursday.
The Barack Obama Foundation announced that political fundraiser Julianna Smoot, venture capitalist John Doerr and museum director Thelma Golden are joining its board of directors
Smoot and Doerr have a history with the president, as Smooth helped Obama fund raise for his campaigns and also served on the White House staff while Doerr served on a presidential council for jobs and competitiveness.
Golden is director and chief curator at the Studio Museum in Harlem, which is known for showing works by artists with African backgrounds.
Obama's library is being prepared and will be constructed in the South Side of the Chicago.

Top supporters of President Obama have created a foundation to select the cities and build the presidential library that will house Obama's records and artifacts. Three long-time supporters will head up the nonprofit Barack H. Obama Foundation: Marty Nesbitt, a close friend from Chicago; J. Kevin Poorman. president and CEO of PSP Capital Partners; and Julianna Smoot, a top official in the president's re-election campaign. White House spokesman Eric Schultz said Obama "is grateful to these individuals for taking on this project." According to the Associated Press, although it will start fundraising right away to cover its own costs, most of the money to build the library won't be raised until after Obama leaves the White House.

On the campaign trail eight years ago, candidate Barack Obama was delighted to tweak rival Hillary Clinton by highlighting how unfettered fundraising for her husband’s presidential library could undermine trust in government.
Now, Obama faces his own daunting task, trying to raise $500 million or more to build his own presidential library on the south side of Chicago, while keeping his promise to make detailed disclosures and avoid ethical issues that arise when public officials take large donations for personal causes.
The announcement Tuesday that the library will be built at one of two sites in Obama’s hometown will escalate fundraising efforts that got off to a slow start when the Obama Foundation was set up early last year. The foundation has tapped longtime Obama fundraiser Julianna Smoot to oversee fundraising, and the group’s first tax form is expected to be made public early next week.
In its first year, the foundation has accepted contributions from 13 donors — couples, individuals or nonprofits.

Dirty tricks are unethical, duplicitous, slanderous or illegal tactics employed to destroy or diminish the effectiveness of political or business opponents. The term "dirty trick" can also be used to refer to an underhanded technique to get ahead of an opponent (such as sabotage or disregarding rules of engagement).
As a result of post-Watergate reform legislation, such activities are strictly regulated, though other private entities still may practice what has become commonly referred to as questionable or unethical dirty tricks.
Recent nomenclature equates a Dirty Tricks Squad to any organized, covert attempt to besmirch the credibility or reputation of an individual or organization so as to render them ineffective.

During the United States presidential election, 2012, conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro accused the Obama campaign of anti-Semitic dog whistling after campaign staffer Julianna Smoot stated in an email that Paul Ryan was "'making a pilgrimage' to Las Vegas to 'kiss the ring'" of Republican mega-donor Sheldon Adelson.[24] This was described as "a classic anti-Semitic dog whistle signaling voters that Ryan is in the thrall of the 'Israel Lobby'."[25]

According to this F.E.C. filing[31] the Cochran-affiliated super PAC "All Citizens for Mississippi" that played the Race card during the primary[32]was funded by another super PAC, "Mississippi Conservatives", which is affiliated with Former Governor Haley Barbour.
Senator Ted Cruz appeared on the Mark Levin Show to discuss the Mississippi Primary. He called for an investigation,[33] saying that "the ads they ran were racially-charged false attacks".

Julianna Smoot
Julianna Smoot is a political fundraiser for the Democratic Party. She was a Deputy Manager of Barack Obama's 2012 presidential reelection campaign, having previously served as White House Social Secretary, Deputy Assistant to the President. and Chief of Staff to United States Trade Representative Ron Kirk. Smoot previously served as a professional fundraiser for the Democratic Party. She was the national finance director for Obama's 2008 presidential campaign; under her direction, the campaign raised $32.5 million during the second quarter of 2007 and by election day, more money than any campaign in American history. She was named Social Secretary after her predecessor, Desirée Rogers resigned on February 26, 2010.
Life and career
Smoot was born in North Carolina, where she was a debutante in Raleigh and other towns. She graduated from Smith College in 1989; her fellow Deputy Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutter was a year behind. She took leave from her job at the American Trial Lawyers Association to be finance director of John Edwards's 1998 campaign for U.S. Senate. She met Pete Rouse and Steve Hildebrand on Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle's unsuccessful reelection campaign in 2004, where she raised $21 million. Rouse and Hildebrand brought her to the first Obama presidential campaign in January, 2007. She has also held positions with Senator Richard Durbin of Illinois and Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia. She worked in Senatorial campaigns for Chris Dodd and Harry Reid.

Barack Hussein Obama II (US 
i/bəˈrɑːk huːˈseɪn oʊˈbɑːmə/; born August 4, 1961) is an American politician serving as the 44th President of the United States, the first African American to hold the office. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review. He was a community organizer in Chicago before earning his law degree. He worked as a civil rights attorney and taught constitutional law at University of Chicago Law School between 1992 and 2004. He served three terms representing the 13th District in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004, and ran unsuccessfully in the Democratic primary for the United States House of Representatives in 2000 against incumbent Bobby Rush.
In 2004, Obama received national attention during his campaign to represent Illinois in the United States Senate with his victory in the March Democratic Party primary, his keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July, and his election to the Senate in November. He began his presidential campaign in 2007 and, after a close primary campaign against Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2008, he won sufficient delegates in the Democratic Party primaries to receive the presidential nomination. He then defeated Republican nominee John McCain in the general election, and was inaugurated as president on January 20, 2009. Nine months after his inauguration, Obama was named the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

Il trovatore
Il trovatore (pronounced [il trovaˈtoːre]; Italian for "The Troubadour") is an opera in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi to an Italian libretto largely written by Salvadore Cammarano, based on the play El trovador (1836) by Antonio García Gutiérrez. It was Gutiérrez's most successful play, one which Verdi scholar Julian Budden describes as "a high flown, sprawling melodrama flamboyantly defiant of the Aristotelian unities, packed with all manner of fantastic and bizarre incident."
The premiere took place at the Teatro Apollo in Rome on 19 January 1853, where it "began a victorious march throughout the operatic world," a success due to Verdi's work over the previous three years. It began with his January 1850 approach to Cammarano with the idea of Il trovatore. There followed, slowly and with interruptions, the preparation of the libretto, first by Cammarano until his death in mid-1852 and then with the young librettist Leone Emanuele Bardare, which gave the composer the opportunity to propose significant revisions, which were accomplished under his direction. These revisions are seen largely in the expansion of the role of Leonora.

The term "dirty trick" can also be used to refer to an underhanded technique to get ahead of an opponent (such as sabotage or disregarding rules of engagement).
As a result of post-Watergate reform legislation, such activities are strictly regulated, though other private entities still may practice what has become commonly referred to as questionable or unethical dirty tricks.
Recent nomenclature equates a Dirty Tricks Squad to any organized, covert attempt to besmirch the credibility or reputation of an individual or organization so as to render them ineffective.

After the fallout of the primary election, Ed Martin, chairman of the Missouri Republican Party, wrote an op-ed calling for the censure of Henry Barbour for his role in the funding [28] of race-based ads, as well as the censure of "any Republicans who were involved in the racist ads." [29] He also called to censure Barbour at an RNC summer meeting in Chicago.[30] Henry Barbour is the nephew of former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour. According to this F.E.C. filing[31] the Cochran-affiliated super PAC "All Citizens for Mississippi" that played the Race card during the primary[32]was funded by another super PAC, "Mississippi Conservatives", which is affiliated with Former Governor Haley Barbour.
Senator Ted Cruz appeared on the Mark Levin Show to discuss the Mississippi Primary. He called for an investigation,[33] saying that "the ads they ran were racially-charged false attacks".

The Raiders offered visual proof via social media: Rogers will turn 33 in July and is entering his 11th NFL season. He spent the last three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, starting all 48 regular-season games he appeared in under coach Jim Harbaugh. Officials employed varying levels of censorship, from the modest to the heavy-handed to the extreme ... Julianna Coon had written that she was graduating in January because the school didn’t want her there for a full year — a remark she told the Gazette she intended as a lighthearted joke ...
