Hi! We are Eric and Sarah, a couple of Canadians currently travelling around Ecuador. We’ve been married since 2017 but have known each other since we were only 6 years old! We will take you to explore the different districts/neighborhoods in Lima to see what it is like here and why it's visited by many tourists. In this video, we will also show you some of the most amazing places to see, our favorite places in the city; Where to go, what to eat. If you are planning to travel to Peru and have Lima on your list, this is the travel video for you. Knowing what you can expect from Lima, Peru is important to better plan your vacation/trips. Exploring Lima was actually one of the highlights of our trip. From culture, food, people, scenery, it literally has everything to offer everyone. Esta madrugada, la Policía Nacional emprendió un megaoperativo en el Cono Norte de Lima, y desplegó una importante cantidad de efectivos de la Diviac y la SUAT, para intervenir a tres organizaciones criminales que se dedican al asalto de transportistas.
Los agentes intervinieron paralelamente varias viviendas y tomaron por sorpresa a los supuestos integrantes.
Según la información fiscal, los sujetos solían falsificar documentos para alquilas vehículos de marca Hilux, vehículos que utilizarían para atacar a los transportistas.
En total 29 personas quedaron detenidas, y ahora serán investigadas mientras que la policía continúa en la búsqueda de más asaltantes de camiones y trailers.

Lima /ˈliːmə/ is the capital and the largest city of Peru. Lima was founded by Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro on January 18, 1535, as Ciudad de los Reyes. It became the capital and most important city in the Spanish Viceroyalty of Peru. Following the Peruvian War of Independence, it became the capital of the Republic of Peru. Today, around one-third of the Peruvian population lives in the metropolitan area.
Lima is home to one of the oldest higher learning institutions in the New World. The National University of San Marcos, founded on May 12 of 1551, during Spanish colonial regime, is the oldest continuously functioning university in the Americas.

Lima is a restaurant in London, United Kingdom, which serves Peruvian cuisine. The chef patron is Virgilio Martínez Véliz. In 2014, it was awarded a Michelin star, the first time a restaurant serving this cuisine had been awarded a star in Europe.
Description
Lima is owned by Gabriel and Jose Luis Gonzalez, in conjunction with Peruvian chef Virgilio Martínez Véliz. The front of house is run by maître d’ Bunmi Okolosi, formerly of Dinner by Heston Blumenthal. In the kitchen, Roberto Ortiz is the head chef of the restaurant as overseen by chef patron Virgilio Martínez Véliz. Martínez Véliz is the chef at Central Restaurante in Lima, Peru, which was named 15th in the 2014 The World's 50 Best Restaurants.
The interior of Lima was designed by Erik Munro, and features a mural whilst the rest of the restaurant is beige. The restaurant is small and narrow, and mirrors are used to give the impression of greater space. A skylight lights the rear of the restaurant, the remainder of which is lit by candles and industrial-style lamps. The kitchen is open to the dining area of the restaurant.

Peruvian territory was home to ancient cultures spanning from the Norte Chico civilization in Caral, one of the oldest in the world, to the Inca Empire, the largest state in Pre-Columbian America. Ideas of political autonomy later spread throughout Spanish America and Peru gained its independence, which was formally proclaimed in 1821. After achieving independence, the country remained in recession and kept a low military profile until an economic rise based on the extraction of raw and maritime materials struck the country, which ended shortly before the war of the Pacific. Subsequently, the country has undergone changes in government from oligarchic to democratic systems. Peru has gone through periods of political unrest and internal conflict as well as periods of stability and economic upswing.

Peruvian wine
Peruvian wine is wine made in the South American country of Peru. Peruvian winemaking dates back to the Spanish colonization of the region in the 16th century.
Production
Peru shares a similar climate with wine-producing country Chile, which is favourable for producing wine. In 2008, there were some 14,000 hectares (35,000 acres) of grape plantations in Peru, including table grapes, and some 610,000 hectolitres (13,000,000 imp gal; 16,000,000 US gal) of wine was produced, with an increasing trend in both plantations and wine production. Most vineyards are located on the central coast, around Pisco and Ica, where most of Peru's winemaking and distillation takes place.
Grape varieties cultivated include Albillo, Alicante Bouschet, Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Malbec, Moscatel, Sauvignon blanc and Torontel.
History
The first grapevines were brought to Peru shortly after its conquest by Spain. Spanish chroniclers from the time note that the first vinification in South America took place in the hacienda Marcahuasi of Cuzco. However, the largest and most prominent vineyards of the 16th and 17th century Americas were established in the Ica valley of south-central Peru. In the 1540s, Bartolomé de Terrazas and Francisco de Carabantes began vineyards in Peru. The latter established vineyards in Ica, which Spaniards from Andalucia and Extremadura used to introduce grapevines into Chile.

Hi! We are Eric and Sarah, a couple of Canadians currently travelling around Ecuador. We’ve been married since 2017 but have known each other since we were only 6 years old! During our last year of university, we spent 4 months in Honduras on a semester abroad and fell in love with #LatinAmerica and #Spanish. Since then, we began planning and saving to do an extensive Latin America tour. 2020 delayed those plans by half a year but during this time stuck in BC, we explored a new hobby (like everyone in the pandemic) of videography and photography. We will take you to explore the different districts/neighborhoods in Lima to see what it is like here and why it's visited by many tourists. In this video, we will also show you some of the most amazing places to see, our favorite places in the city; Where to go, what to eat. If you are planning to travel to Peru and have Lima on your list, this is the travel video for you. Knowing what you can expect from Lima, Peru is important to better plan your vacation/trips. Exploring Lima was actually one of the highlights of our trip. From culture, food, people, scenery, it literally has everything to offer everyone. The main first impression in Lima that you will get is that you will probably shock/surprise on how diverse the city is. If you visit the historic center of Lima you will get the total different feeling from when you visit Barranco or Miraflores.

Los agentes intervinieron paralelamente varias viviendas y tomaron por sorpresa a los supuestos integrantes.
Según la información fiscal, los sujetos solían falsificar documentos para alquilas vehículos de marca Hilux, vehículos que utilizarían para atacar a los transportistas.
En total 29 personas quedaron detenidas, y ahora serán investigadas mientras que la policía continúa en la búsqueda de más asaltantes de camiones y trailers.

Here's our Central Restaurant experience - we attended the 12-course Ecosistemas Mater. Our final bill was over $500 plus tip for the night.

Dicen que Lima es sin dudas uno de los destinos gastronómicos TOP, pero ¿cuánto sale comer en la capital de Perú?.
Yo creo que en un lugar se come bien cuando la buena gastronomía es relativamente accesible a todos. ¿Se puede comer por precios bajos en Perú? Me junté con las reinas del ahorro, las Misias pero Viajeras y nos fuimos a averiguarlo. Primero fuimos a la Huerta Chinen en Surquillo donde comimos por U$S 3. Después nos fuimos a la tradicional y pituca Rosa Náutica y la cuenta llegó de U$S 120. ¿Valió la pena? ¿Nos acompañas a averiguarlo?.
En el primer comentario les dejo las Redes de las Misias pero viajeras. Sigan a estas genias que nos ayudan a todos a viajar cada vez más con sus tips de ahorro.

After visiting two of Gaston's restaurants and absolutely loving them we jumped at the chance to check out a third to eat traditional Peruvian cuisine. What we enjoyed most about this restaurant in Lima was its rustic design, huge portions and traditional Peruvian dishes. We'd highly recommend eating at El Bodegón if you're visiting Lima, Peru.

It’s called El Bodegon and it’s also owned by the father of Peru's gastronomic revolution, Gaston Acurio. This place serves Criolla (Creole) food that will delight your palate. The restaurant itself has great character and has a fantastic atmosphere with Criolla music on the background. The atmosphere will make you want to stay for hours enjoying various dishes and a couple (or many) Pisco Sours. I can’t recommend it enough!

New to Peru? There are so many things about Lima, Peru that totally shocked us as foreigners traveling here for the first time. We will take you to explore the different districts/neighborhoods in Lima to see what it is like here and why it's visited by many tourists. In this video, we will also show you some of the most amazing places to see, our favorite places in the city; Where to go, what to eat. If you are planning to travel to Peru and have Lima on your list, this is the travel video for you. Knowing what you can expect from Lima, Peru is important to better plan your vacation/trips. Exploring Lima was actually one of the highlights of our trip. From culture, food, people, scenery, it literally has everything to offer everyone. The main first impression in Lima that you will get is that you will probably shock/surprise on how diverse the city is. Esta madrugada, la Policía Nacional emprendió un megaoperativo en el Cono Norte de Lima, y desplegó una importante cantidad de efectivos de la Diviac y la SUAT, para intervenir a tres organizaciones criminales que se dedican al asalto de transportistas.
Los agentes intervinieron paralelamente varias viviendas y tomaron por sorpresa a los supuestos integrantes.
Según la información fiscal, los sujetos solían falsificar documentos para alquilas vehículos de marca Hilux, vehículos que utilizarían para atacar a los transportistas.
En total 29 personas quedaron detenidas, y ahora serán investigadas mientras que la policía continúa en la búsqueda de más asaltantes de camiones y trailers.

Lima is home to one of the oldest higher learning institutions in the New World. The National University of San Marcos, founded on May 12 of 1551, during Spanish colonial regime, is the oldest continuously functioning university in the Americas.

Central Restaurante Peru is highlighted on Netflix's "Chef's Table" - Season 3, Episode 3. Peruvian Chef Virgilio Martinez has brought the Peruvian food scene onto the world stage, and Central Restaurant Lima is recognized as the Number 5 Restaurant in the World.
Here's our Central Restaurant experience - we attended the 12-course Ecosistemas Mater. Our final bill was over $500 plus tip for the night.

Dicen que Lima es sin dudas uno de los destinos gastronómicos TOP, pero ¿cuánto sale comer en la capital de Perú?.
Yo creo que en un lugar se come bien cuando la buena gastronomía es relativamente accesible a todos. ¿Se puede comer por precios bajos en Perú? Me junté con las reinas del ahorro, las Misias pero Viajeras y nos fuimos a averiguarlo. Primero fuimos a la Huerta Chinen en Surquillo donde comimos por U$S 3. Después nos fuimos a la tradicional y pituca Rosa Náutica y la cuenta llegó de U$S 120. ¿Valió la pena? ¿Nos acompañas a averiguarlo?.

Come join us as we visit Gastón Acurio's El Bodegón Restaurant to eat traditional Peruvian food in Lima, Peru. After visiting two of Gaston's restaurants and absolutely loving them we jumped at the chance to check out a third to eat traditional Peruvian cuisine. What we enjoyed most about this restaurant in Lima was its rustic design, huge portions and traditional Peruvian dishes. We'd highly recommend eating at El Bodegón if you're visiting Lima, Peru.

Eating all the amazing traditional Peruvian food at another one of my favourite restaurants in Lima, Peru! It’s called El Bodegon and it’s also owned by the father of Peru's gastronomic revolution, Gaston Acurio. This place serves Criolla (Creole) food that will delight your palate. The restaurant itself has great character and has a fantastic atmosphere with Criolla music on the background. The atmosphere will make you want to stay for hours enjoying various dishes and a couple (or many) Pisco Sours. I can’t recommend it enough!
