Why this retreat was built and how to get there.
Owner/manager of A River Bed, Wendy, holidayed in the area as a child and,
loving the memories, moved here in 1997. While working in the Tourism/Accommodation industry for many years, saw a need
for modern self contained 'couple' accommodation. So created A River Bed, studio for 2.
Directions:
Take the Princes Highway from Melbourne, through Geelong and follow the signs to the Great Ocean Road. Drive through Anglesea and continue on to Aireys Inlet. Aireys is a tranquil seaside resort on the beautiful southern coast of Victoria.
When you enter the town of Aireys Inlet, drive past the shops on the left and the hotel on the right. Down the hill and, at the bottom, turn right into Bambra Road then left into River Road, left again into River Reserve Road. Second on the left, you'll see your car space at the front of the studio.
Location and what's nearby
A River Bed is close to Lorne, Anglesea, Torquay and the Otways but right on the Great Ocean Road and Surfcoast. Its so handy for day trips and a perfect base for your holiday or simply a weekend or overnight getaway.

Comfortable, clean, relaxing surroundings.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Riverbed apartment. It is well located, bird life was lovely, the apartment was very well appointed - very clean and fresh. Things that are always appreciated like tea, coffee, milk, glad wrap, dish washing detergent, etc. little things do make a difference!

Functional, but just a bit spartan for winterWe stayed in the Studio at short notice for just one weeknight. The premises were spotless and quite comfortable, but the reverse cycle airconditioner (the only heating) just wasn't up to the task of keeping the freezing weather outside at bay. Apart from the cold, the setting was idyllic and our stay wonderfully quiet - it would be a GREAT place to return to in warmer weather.

The valley out look was amazing to wake up to birds churping, very tranquil and quiet. We were in the studio, which was great for our overnight stay, easy to get from car to unit, very cosy and very well equipped.....look in cupboard for electric cooktop. If staying longer the cottage with separate bedroom would be good....very enjoyable. Marion-Perth April '14
