Northern Ireland sporting legends rubbed shoulders with some of the province's current and up-and-coming stars of the future at the 21st Belfast Telegraph Sports Awards.
The Ramada Plaza was the venue for the star-studded black-tie extravaganza.
Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness attended, saying he was delighted to be present at one of the top events in the province's sporting calendar.
The major accolade - the Belfast Telegraph Sports Star of the Year, went to dynamic boxer Michael Conlan.
"I'm just looking forward to Rio and to bring home a gold medal," he said.
Living soccer legend Martin O'Neill said he was "overwhelmed" to be awarded the Hall of Fame award.
The Kilrea man started his career with Distillery in the Irish League before going on to European glory as a player with Nottingham Forest and as a manager with Celtic.
The current Republic of Ireland manager is looking forward to contesting the Euro finals in France in June - as is Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill who collected the Manager/Coach of the Year Award and saw the NI squad pick up the Team of the Year gong.
"It's so important to have the Belfast Telegraph support sport in this way - not just the bigger names but the young sportsmen and women coming through," he said.

Have you seen this stolen clock? If so, it's time to help hand this antique back to its rightful owners - a group of local rail enthusiasts.
Downpatrick and County Down Railway (DCDR) has launched a fresh appeal to find the original booking office clock that once hung in a station in the county.
It was one of the original artefacts to be displayed in its railway museum in the 1990s.
DCDR vice chairman Robert Gardiner said: "This booking office clock was from the original company that operated the railway before it closed in 1950 - the Belfast & County Down Railway - and it would have originally hung in one of the stations on the old network between Newcastle and Belfast.
"It was spotted in an antique shop and bought by a number of volunteers who chipped in together to buy it for the museum in 1990 for public display.
"The railway was only a couple of years old, and it was one of our earliest artefacts.
"But only a few years later burglars stole it from the station. Since then our security has been significantly improved throughout the site and museum, with the railway recently being awarded more than £3,000 in grant aid from the Northern Ireland Museums Council for further improvements."
Mr Gardiner said the theft had been a terrible blow to volunteers who clubbed together to save the clock.
"When reported to the police there were no photographs to circulate.
"However, old camcorder footage of the clock has emerged, sparking a new appeal.
"It's a fairly common design from the makers Ansonia," Mr Gardiner added.
"It has an octagon-shaped face, and a pointed case, but what makes it special is that it had the initials 'BCDR' handwritten on the dial, presumably done by one of the old staff members, as shown in the close-up in the video - it's that provenance that was important to us. In the 20 years that have passed it's never been recovered, either privately or by the police. And until this footage recently turned up no one had a photo of it.
"Given its provenance, there's a very high chance it's still out there, maybe with a collector who innocently purchased it not knowing it was stolen."
The group urged anyone with information to contact the PSNI at Downpatrick on 101.

By Deborah McAleese, Belfast Telegraph
Gerry Adams will not be prosecuted over the 1972 murder of Jean McConville, the Public Prosecution Service has announced.
The Sinn Fein president was arrested at the end of April last year and held for four days in connection with the execution of the mother-of-10, one of the 'Disappeared'.
After considering a police file the PPS has decided there is not enough evidence to charge the 66-year-old.
The PPS has also decided not to prosecute six other people who were arrested, including Sinn Fein chairman Bobby Storey.
PPS deputy director Pamela Atchison said that careful consideration had been given to the evidence available in respect of each of the three men and four women reported.
She added that the evidence is "insufficient to provide a reasonable prospect of obtaining a conviction against any of them for a criminal offence".
The evidence against the seven individuals arose from a number of different sources and included, in respect of some of the individuals, here say evidence provided by the American authorities from the Boston College Belfast Project.
Mr Adams has always denied any involvement in the McConville killing, but former IRA members have claimed he directed the murder.
Jean McConville, a 37-year-old widow, was dragged, screaming, away from her children in the Divis flats in west Belfast in 1972 by a gang of up to 12 men and women after being wrongly accused of informing to the security forces.
She was interrogated, shot in the back of the head and then secretly buried - becoming one of the Disappeared victims of the Troubles.
Her body was not found until 2003 on a beach in Co Louth, 50 miles from her home.
Mr Adams' arrest triggered a major row at the heart of Northern Ireland's powersharing institutions, with Sinn Fein accusing an anti-peace process "rump" within the PSNI of orchestrating the arrest, branding it an example of "political policing" specifically timed to damage the party's chances in the forthcoming European and local government elections.

Maud Kells, Christian missionary with WEC International to the Democratic Republic of Congo, shares her life story with young people at Banbridge Baptist Youth Rally. She tells how she became a Christian whilst training to be a nurse in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast; and then was led by God into full-time Christian service as a missionary to Africa.
She recalls how bandits shot her in January 2015, and how God graciously saved her life and has opened more doors for her to tell others about her Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Although she doesn't mention it in the video, she was awarded an OBE in January 2015, and in March 2015, she was named Belfast Telegraph Woman of the Year

Writer and Director: Orla Walsh
Producer: Paul Donovan
With: Magael Mac Laughlin
A powerful drama about a prisoner's wife in Belfast in 1987. Set on the day of a visit to her husband, a long-term Republican prisoner.
Reviews
"Neither propagandist or judgmental."
The Arts Show, RTE Radio 1
"Fledgling director Orla Walsh's debut packs breathtaking tension and emotional turmoil into little more than 20 minutes."
Belfast Telegraph
"This thought-provoking 20 minute short broached serious issues that the women of the North must face in their lives. Walsh's direction was one of sensitivity, which was demonstrated through her gentle and clear-cut approach to a delicate subject matter."
Film Ireland
"The Visit is Orla Walsh's very polished directorial debut. It's a sympathetic and, at times, moving evocation of her life sentence of virtual widowhood and her attempt to seek self-definition beyond the reference points of her man and her perceived role in the nationalist community."

Over the years this performance has become highly regarded as a significant rendering of Verdi's Rigoletto. I am happy to share it. I performed Rigoletto about a hundred times in my career. Unfortunately they were done before our current era of video and media documentation is limited.

TRIBUTES
Many tributes have been paid to Cormac. Here are just a sample:
Uachtarán na hÉireann, Mary McAleese said: "Cormac was revered throughout the country as one of the greatest Gaelic footballers of his time. It is hard to believe that one who died so young had already packed into his short life every possible honour in the game. It has been said that he has "left behind much, much more than an empty jersey hanging on a peg." For Cormac left the gifts of exemplary leadership, of passion for life itself, of discipline, sacrifice and courage, of generosity and service to others. Here was a life built on good choices, built in fact on goodness itself."
Archbishop Seán Brady, Primate of the Catholic Church in Ireland: "Cormac was an icon in the proper sense of the term. He was a role model, gentle and modest, dedicated and disciplined, joyful and happy."
GAA president Sean Kelly: "Cormac exemplified everything that was good in a Gaelic footballer and human being. He had that great and rare gift of greatness, allied to humanity. He won everything with style, skill and sportsmanship, in tandem with great academic achievement."
Tír Eoghain manager, Mickey Harte: "He was such a good guy, a brilliant athlete and dedicated player...His maturity belied his years, and he was everything you would want in a young man. He was just a gem of a man."
Tír Eoghain colleague Peter Canavan: "He was so enthusiastic and so keen to learn and it was a great honour for me just to be able to play alongside him. What Cormac tried to do, the other players tended to follow. Everybody knew from his early days that Cormac would become captain of the Tyrone senior team. Tyrone has lost a great leader."
Margaret Martin, Principal of St. Catherine's College, Armagh: "Cormac's contribution to the life of the school has been immeasurable and we were privileged to have had Cormac, one of Ireland's top athletes, among our staff. There is a sense of national loss and he epitomised someone who was committed to education, to Irish culture and Gaelic games."

Welcome to Episode 1.
Aron Ra came on the show to talk about his part in the campaign to keep Texan text books and public institutions free of ideologically motivated pseudoscience. We talked about creationism on the school board, Armageddonists deciding environmental policies, Rick Perry's record as governor and the challenge of living in a state where science is mistrusted and unfounded faith is a virtue.
There are some minor audio issues on my end, the microphone I bought was not fit for purpose and I'm back to looking for a new one.

The JOHN FISHER RADIO SHOW - WHOA was broadcast from a top secret location, somewhere in the Lisburn area. The first and only pirate radio station in Lisburn HISS fm on 108 MHZ. THE JOHN FISHER RADIO SHOW - WHOA was first broadcast in the years 1989 - to 1990. Around 17 shows were made, these are the only two remaining broadcasts that were recorded by our sponsors OUTER LIMITS - IT'S A COMIC SHOP - YEAH! DISCLAIMER: JOHN FISHER - whoever he was - held no copyright to any songs played in this broadcast. No copyright infringement is intended. No animals were harmed in this broadcast. You can find THE JOHN FISHER RADIO SHOW - WHOA live at Barnards star, and Alpha Centauri. Thank you for listening to this anarchic broadcast. I love you all. Remember, who gave rock and roll and THE JOHN FISHER RADIO SHOW - WHOA to ya? God gave rock and roll to ya, as KISS once sang. We were just crazy young juves who loved comic books, heavy metal music and 2000 AD - the galaxy's greatest comic. THE JOHN FISHER RADIO SHOW-WHOA featured MARTY, ALAN, GLENN DANZIG, THE SEVEN DWARVES, STAN RIDGEWAY, THE COUNT FROM SESAME STREET, MR ALOYSILUS SNUFFLUPAGUS, THE PRISONER, THE BABY EATING BISHOP OF BATH AND WELLS FROM BLACKADDER AND PRESENTING 'ALI' AS MARTY'S SISTER. This has been an OUTER LIMITS PRODUCTION. The photographs in this presentation are from JOHN FISHER'S 21st BIRTHDAY BLITZKRIEG FEATURING THE ASTROZOMBIES, COMING SOON TO A YOUTUBE VIDEO NEAR YOU.
Tragically, Jonathan Fisher almost died a year later, he suffered an undiagnosed Addisonian crisis that left him with a brain injury. You can read all about Jonathan Fisher's amazing life story in August Always. "A cult book." Alan Eltron Barrell. "A Triumph." The Belfast Telegraph. Available on Amazon Kindle. August Always is available to download as two formats:

GARETH HUGHES - BASS PLAYER FOR FARRIERS and numerous indie bands says " I remember hearing your radio show a few times - that was a treasure I tried to share with everyone at school. You're writing has managed the impossible - it made me nostalgic for the Lisburn of my teenage years. Knowing you, and everyone else at Outer Limits - heck, even just being able to BE in Outer Limits - is something I have always treasured.
I remember getting the phone call telling Gavin and I that you had been taken into hospital. Most people remember it as the day Freddie Mercury and Eric Carr from KISS had died, but to me it was always the day that Johnny Fisher took ill. You were a legend to us. And a legend still."

AMIT TV (0186)
Mark Knopfler’s, first solo tour comprised 84 concerts from 66 cities and commenced on Wednesday 24, April 1996. This video (DVD) from the great RCJS collection is from the 4th concert of the tour, from Belfast in Northern Ireland. Video & sound quality, are both good for this era, and the show was filmed from close to centre, slightly right of stage. Nice set list with a good mix of his new solo material along with Dire Strait’s classics and film score tracks. Great adlib at the end of Imelda & nice renditions of the rarely played I’m the Fool and Portobello Belle along with a special (Irish Flavor) Local hero!! Not the complete concert and some of the later tracks have been cut.

wn.com/Mark Knopfler – Concert Ulster Hall, Belfast, N.I., 1996
AMIT TV (0186)

Interviewed by Miriam O'Callaghan on RTE's Prime Time Gerry Adams denied any knowledge about a string of murders believed to have been committed by the Provisional IRA.
Victims discussed included Garda Jerry McCabe, Garda Ben O'Sullivan, innocent farmer Tom Oliver and former Portlaoise chief prison officer Brian Stack.
http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/gerry-adams-repeatedly-denies-knowledge-of-string-of-ira-murders-29233240.html
The IRA later admitted killing the only prison officer murdered in the Republic of Ireland during the Troubles.

Austin Stack, the son of the murdered prison officer had previously condemned Northern Ireland deputy First Minister for his evasiveness regarding IRA murders:
