A Robe a la Francais based on a dress in the V&A; collection and dated 1760s, this dress has been made with 100% silk and uses many of the original techniques in it's construction. We've loved making it and there is something about copying a gown and learning from it that is really exciting! This is just a short film talking you through the dress's details - please enjoy.

"You know where you went back and added the curve to the hem? If you ensure that the side seam and hem are at a 90 degree angle for the first inch of the hem curve, it will avoid that pointy ness/droop/hanky hem at the corner. True for all A line skirt shapes. I've found that useful on many occasions and thought I'd share!"

On the day of your operation, you will be asked to put on a surgical gown.
You may receive a sedative by mouth and an intravenous line may be put in.
You will then be transferred to the operating table.
In the operating room, a nurse will begin preparation by clipping or shaving your groin.
The surgeon will then apply antiseptic solution to the skin over the hernia, place a sterile drape around the operative site and
will inject a local anesthetic. Usually, the surgeon will inject more than one spot - to make sure that the entire area is thoroughly numb.
Or in the case of a spinal, the anesthetic will be injected into the small of your back. After allowing a few minutes for the anesthetic to take effect,
Patient Education
After allowing a few minutes for the anesthetic to take effect, the surgeon will make a shallow incision 3-5 inches in length, directly over the hernia.
The next incision dissects through the inguinal canal itself and reveals the hernia sack, which is simply the peritoneum that lines the inside of the abdomen.
The surgeon gently pushes the contents of the sack back into the abdomen.
Next, the opening at the neck of the peritoneum is tied and the hernia sac is removed.
The inguinal canal itself is closed with sutures. These dissolve over time and do not need to be removed. Any defect or weakness in the muscle tissue needs to be repaired in order to reduce the risk of reoccurrence.
Occasionally, the surgeon will use a mesh patch to help reinforce this area
Then the muscle layers and other tissues are sewn together and the skin is closed with sutures or staples.
Finally, a sterile dressing is applied.

The human back is the large posterior area of the human body, rising from the top of the buttocks to the back of the neck and the shoulders. It is the surface opposite to the chest, its height being defined by the vertebral column (commonly referred to as the spine or backbone) and its breadth being supported by the ribcage and shoulders. The spinal canal runs through the spine and provides nerves to the rest of the body.
The central feature of the human back is the vertebral column, specifically the length from the top of the thoracic vertebrae to the bottom of the lumbar vertebrae, which houses the spinal cord in its spinal canal, and which generally has some curvature that gives shape to the back. The ribcage extends from the spine at the top of the back (with the top of the ribcage corresponding to the T1 vertebra), more than halfway down the length of the back, leaving an area with less protection between the bottom of the ribcage and the hips. The width of the back at the top is defined by the scapula, the broad, flat bones of the shoulders.

Oprah Winfrey (born Orpah Gail Winfrey; January 29, 1954) is an American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist. If you ensure that the side seam and hem are at a 90 degree angle for the first inch of the hem curve, it will avoid that pointy ness/droop/hanky hem at the corner. True for all A line skirt shapes. After allowing a few minutes for the anesthetic to take effect, the surgeon will make a shallow incision 3-5 inches in length, directly over the hernia.
The next incision dissects through the inguinal canal itself and reveals the hernia sack, which is simply the peritoneum that lines the inside of the abdomen.
The surgeon gently pushes the contents of the sack back into the abdomen.
Next, the opening at the neck of the peritoneum is tied and the hernia sac is removed.
The inguinal canal itself is closed with sutures. These dissolve over time and do not need to be removed. Any defect or weakness in the muscle tissue needs to be repaired in order to reduce the risk of reoccurrence.
Occasionally, the surgeon will use a mesh patch to help reinforce this area
Then the muscle layers and other tissues are sewn together and the skin is closed with sutures or staples.
Finally, a sterile dressing is applied.

Raf Simons presented his Dior spring summer 2014 collection at the House of Dior in Paris, during the Haute Couture fashion week.
The desses line is full of white and purple color variations, with special much light, fluffy silk material. Some pieces featured include an embroidered, dark-ink blue silk dress and a blue wool "Bar" jacket. Christian Dior created the term "Bar" to apply to clothing meant for a late-afternoon cocktail hour in upscale bars. Simons turned his attention to the sack dress, the loose, chemise-style sheath with a gathered cape back that the mason launched in the 1950s.
Confining himself mainly to a colour palatte of navy, ivory and some sugar almond pastels, Simons's preferred surface embellishment was of the lasered, textured and tone-on-tone embroidered variety rather than the rhinestone kind.
The makeup was simple and nude, with only the lips emphasized in vivid red.
Elisabeth Erm had the honor of closing the show, wearing a navy blue jumpsuit with pink embroidered flowers.

First aired on November 12, 1969, Gordon (Matt Robinson) introduces our next "outta sight", "very important, swingin', great movie" called "What Kids Are Made Of", about all our different body parts. CLICK ON SHOW MORE FOR LYRICS AND LINKS!
Over a live-action film of kids running around an urban New York playground (some scary equipment there!), checking out a fire engine, and hanging out on the Brooklyn Bridge, we hear a pretty little song (female singer currently unknown) with some pretty funky '60s lyrics! Had to write 'em down for ya.
The song/movie itself starts at about 1:10. I had to leave the intro and outro with Oscar's (Caroll Spinney) complaints, they were just too fun to lose. For them that don't know, Oscar was orange for the first season and turned green for Season 2 (1970-1971). This version, used in episodes 1-8, didn't even have arms! Poor Oscar.
UPDATE: Found another very similar song from the same singer and, I'm assuming, songwriter, called "Flowers Everywhere".
