Around the world, people who leave the faith of Islam face state persecution, imprisonment, torture, and even execution, as well as violence, death threats, and ostracization from their own communities.
Many ex-Muslims risk so-called honor killing, forced marriage, kidnap, and communal violence at the hands of their families for “bringing shame” on their community. In Western countries, ex-Muslims are often thrown out of the family and face isolation and exclusion.
VICE News has gained access to an underground network in London who help rescue ex-Muslims. We follow the network as it helps a young atheist escape Saudi Arabia and Turkey, and provides support and shelter for young British people on the run from their families and communities.

Thanks to everyone who's commented about the FGM line. There's a huge amount of conflicting information about the link between Islam and FGM. It's not mentioned in the Qur'an, but it does seem that the practice was condoned by Muhammad in several hadith verses and he referred to Aisha's circumcision positively. Jusisprudents say "moderate" FGM helps preserve a woman's dignity and honour.

A 10-year-old boy was so brutally raped by an Iraqi migrant in a swimming pool cubicle that he had to be hospitalised for his injuries.
A lifeguard immediately called an ambulance after the boy went to him in floods of tears, while the Iraqi was entertaining himself by repeatedly jumping off the three-metre diving board.
Police arrested him on the spot at the pool in Vienna, and during an interrogation, he told police that it was a ‘sexual emergency’ as he had not had sex in four months.

Muslims believe that God is one and incomparable and the purpose of existence is to love and serve God. Muslims also believe that Islam is the complete and universal version of a primordial faith that was revealed at many times and places before, including through Abraham, Moses and Jesus, whom they consider prophets. They maintain that previous messages and revelations have been partially changed or corrupted over time, but consider the Qur'an to be both the unaltered and the final revelation of God. Religious concepts and practices include the five pillars of Islam, which are basic concepts and obligatory acts of worship, and following Islamic law, which touches on virtually every aspect of life and society, providing guidance on multifarious topics from banking and welfare, to warfare and the environment.

Clinton Richard Dawkins, FRS, FRSL (born 26 March 1941), known as Richard Dawkins, is a British ethologist, evolutionary biologist and author. He is an emeritus fellow of New College, Oxford, and was the University of Oxford's Professor for Public Understanding of Science from 1995 until 2008.
Dawkins came to prominence with his 1976 book The Selfish Gene, which popularised the gene-centered view of evolution and introduced the term meme. In 1982 he introduced an influential concept into evolutionary biology, presented in his book The Extended Phenotype, that the phenotypic effects of a gene are not necessarily limited to an organism's body, but can stretch far into the environment, including the bodies of other organisms.
Dawkins is an atheist, a vice president of the British Humanist Association, and a supporter of the Brights movement. He is well known for his criticism of creationism and intelligent design. In his 1986 book The Blind Watchmaker, he argued against the watchmaker analogy, an argument for the existence of a supernatural creator based upon the complexity of living organisms. Instead, he described evolutionary processes as analogous to a blind watchmaker. He has since written several popular science books, and makes regular television and radio appearances, predominantly discussing these topics. In his 2006 book The God Delusion, Dawkins contends that a supernatural creator almost certainly does not exist and that religious faith is a delusion—"a fixed false belief." As of January 2010 the English-language version has sold more than two million copies and had been translated into 31 languages.

Zakir Abdul Karim Naik (Urdu: ذاکر عبدالکریم نائیک; born 18 October 1965) is an Indian public speaker on the subject of Islam and comparative religion. He is the founder and president of the Islamic Research Foundation (IRF), a non-profit organisation that owns the Peace TV channel based in Dubai, UAE. He is sometimes referred to as a televangelist. Before becoming a public speaker, he trained as a doctor. He has written two booklets on Islam and comparative religion. He is regarded as an exponent of the Salafi ideology; he places a strong emphasis on individual scholarship and the rejection of "blind Taqlid", which has led him to repudiate the relevance of sectarian or Madh'hab designations, all the while reaffirming their importance.
Zakir Abdul Karim Naik was born on 18 October 1965 in Mumbai, India. He attended St. Peter's High School in Mumbai. Later he enrolled at Kishinchand Chellaram College, before studying medicine at Topiwala National Medical College and Nair Hospital and later the University of Mumbai, where he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). His wife, Farhat Naik, works for the women's section of the IRF.

Thanks to everyone who's commented about the FGM line. There's a huge amount of conflicting information about the link between Islam and FGM. It's not mentioned in the Qur'an, but it does seem that the practice was condoned by Muhammad in several hadith verses and he referred to Aisha's circumcision positively. Jusisprudents say "moderate" FGM helps preserve a woman's dignity and honour.

Thanks to everyone who's commented about the FGM line. There's a huge amount of conflicting information about the link between Islam and FGM. It's not mentioned in the Qur'an, but it does seem that the practice was condoned by Muhammad in several hadith verses and he referred to Aisha's circumcision positively. Jusisprudents say "moderate" FGM helps preserve a woman's dignity and honour.

A lifeguard immediately called an ambulance after the boy went to him in floods of tears, while the Iraqi was entertaining himself by repeatedly jumping off the three-metre diving board.
Police arrested him on the spot at the pool in Vienna, and during an interrogation, he told police that it was a ‘sexual emergency’ as he had not had sex in four months.

Biografi Dr. Zakir Naik:
Zakir Naik terlahir pada 18 Oktober, 1965 Mumbai (Bombay pada waktu itu) beliau adalah seorang pembicara umum Muslim India, dan penulis keislaman dan perbandingan agama. Sejak 1991 ia telah menjadi seorang ulama yang terlibat dalam dakwah Islam dan perbandingan agama.
Rekaman video dan DVD ceramahnya banyak didistribusikan. Beliau adalah pemilik Peace TV, sebuah stasiun televisi Islami. Zakir Naik juga adalah pendiri dan presiden Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) sebuah organisasi nirlaba. Topik yang sering ia bicarakan mencakup: Islam dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Modern, Persamaan Islam dan Kristen, Kristologi, Islam dan Sekularisme, Ketuhanan Yesus Kristus, Penyaliban Yesus, Ketuhanan Yesus, Nubuat Nabi Muhammad dalam Bibel, Nubuat Nabi Muhammad dalam Kitab Hindu, Nubuat Nabi Muhammad dalam Kitab Buddha, dsb.
Jika kita melihat tayangan video Dr. Zakir Naik di Youtube, ceramah beliau tidak hanya hanya orang Islam saja juga oleh kristen, hindu, buddha, bahkan ateisme. Dan kita lihat dari ceramah-ceramahnya di YouTube, banyak orang-orang non-Muslim tersebut termasuk pendeta, pandid, dsb yang tadinya melakukan debat agama dengan beliau namun akhirnya masuk Islam (menjadi muallaf) di acara beliau. Mereka memberikan kesaksian bahwa Islam adalah agama kebenaran.
Diantara pendapat itu adalah tentang mukjizat Quran. Al-qur’an yang telah turun 1400 tahun yang lalu merupakan salah satu kitab yang menurut beliau adalah kitab yang sangat luar biasa, karena didalamnya terdapat fenomena yang tak sedikit fenomena itu di ketemukan pada akhir-akhir ini.
Dr. Zakir Naik dengan kemampuan yang dimilikinya berupa hafalan yang teramat kuat tidak hanya mampu menghafalkan Al-Qur’an dan Shahih Bukhari Muslim, akan tetapi beliau juga telah menguasai kitab Weda, Tripitaka, Bhagavad gita, bahkan telah menggerakkan hati ribuan penganut Hindu di India dan menjadi mu’allaf. Beliau tanpa ragu-ragu juga mengoreksi pastur dan pendeta jika mereka salah dalam mengutip ayat-ayat dalam bible atau injil.
Namun, tidak seperti gurunya, yaitu Syekh Ahmed Deedat, Dr. Zakir Naik tidak memiliki banyak agenda Debat Terbuka layaknya Ahmed Deedat karena hampir semua tantangan debat yang dilayangkan oleh Dr. Zakir Naik banyak yang tidak mendapat respon dari gereja, bahkan sampai sekarang belum ada berita apakah ada Pendeta yang berani berhadapan langsung dengan beliau. Oleh karena itu, Dr. Zakir Naik dijuluki “Ahmed Deedat Plus” yang telah membuat pastur dan pendeta merasa ngeri berhadapan dengan beliau yang argumentasinya belum pernah terpatahkan.
Naik pernah mengajak debat terbuka kepada Paus Benediktus dimana tantangan debat tersebut tidak direspon. Debatnya pada tahun 2006 dengan Sri Sri Ravi Shankar dengan topik "Konsep Ketuhanan dalam Hinduisme dan Islam" yang diadakan di kota Bangalore, India, mengalami sukses besar. Beliau berhasil membuktikan bahwa Islam adalah agama kebenaran yang diwahyukan Allah kepada nabi penutup dan terakhir, Nabi Muhammad s.a.w.
Dakwah-dakwahnya disampaikan dengan mudah dapat diakses melalui situs youtube yang kebanyakan berasal dari saluran Peace TV yang direkam dengan kefasihan beliau dalam berbahasa Inggris, bahkan beberapa telah disertai subtitle Indonesia.
Dr. Zakir Naik muncul secara rutin di berbagai channel TV di lebih dari 100 negara di seluruh dunia. Dia secara berkala diwawancara dan diundang ke acara-acara radio maupun TV. Selain itu, beliau juga menulis banyak buku dengan judul "The Quran and Modern Science – Compatible or Incompatible", "Is the Quran God's Word?", "Women in Islam – Protected or Subjugated", "Concept of God in Major Religions", dan "Answers to Non-Muslims Common Questions about Islam."
Gurunya, Syekh Ahmed Deedat, memberikan plakat pada tahun 2000 yang dipersembahkan sebagai hadiah kepada Naik karena pencapaiannya di bidang dakwah dan studi perbandingan agama. them; and we surrender ourselves to God alone.

Christians and Jews hold a special place in Islam. They are called the People of the Book (Ahl al-Kitab), since the original Torah and Gospel were also divinely revealed and they shared in the prophetic tradition. True Islamic states have always shown their religious minorities tolerance and respect and those communities flourished under Islamic rule.

Jews, the Sabaeans, and the Christians - all those who
believe in Allah and the Last Day, and act righteously - no
fear shall come upon them..." (Qur'an 5:69)

Sehingga masih ada yang bersifat fanatik dan merasa benar sendiri serta tidak dapat menerima perbedaan. Adapaun mereka yang menyadari akan perbedaan bisa menerima dan bisa di ajak berdialog atau berdebat. Seperti apda video debat Islam vs Kristen kali ini. Yang masing - masing pihat baik islam maupun kristen memberikan argumenya untuk memperkuat keyakinanya akan tetapi berdebatan tidak sampai ke adu fisik hanya adu argumen dan pemikiran hal ini wajar. Meski debat berlangsung panas, akan tetapi setelah debat islam vs kristen ini berlangsung suasana kembali dingin.
Masih banyak lagi perbedaan antara syiah vs sunni yang tentu tidak akan cukup untuk di bahas dalam waktu yang singkat. oleh sebab itu kita perlu mengetahui secara lebih mendalam tentang kedua ajaran yang berbeda ini yang sama - sama mengaku sebagai islam. jangan sampai kita mudah di hasut di adu domba dan di benturkan satu sama lain karena perbedaan ini. seandainya hal itu terjadi, kita harus memastikan untuk membela ajaran islam yang benar, untuk memilih sunni atau syiah. .
Debat syiah vs sunni kali ini membahas masalah plurarisme dan liberalisme. suatu paham yang biasa menjadi topik perbincangan di beberapa media besar nasional, baik cetak maupun electronik. baik dari pihak sunni maupun syiah punya alasan kuat untuk mempertahankan argumenya. sehingga sulit bagi kedua aliran ini untuk bisa sepaham, karena memang dasar ajaran mereka berbeda, meskipun sama - sama mengaku sebagai bagian dari agama islam. setelah melihat debat sunni vs syiah ini di harapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahan kita secar lebih mendalam tentang perbedaan antara sunni dan syiah sehingga kita bisa mengampil keputusan ajaran aliran mana yang patut untuk kita ikuti.
Perbedaan dan debat anatar syiah vs sunni memang tidak ada habis - ha bisnya. hal ini karena baik sunni maupun syiah mengaku sama - sama islam akan tetapi pada praktekanya kedua ajaran ini sangat berbeda jauh. dan tak jarang perbedaan ini menimbulkan konflik karena memang dasar ajaran syiah dan sunni itu sangat bertentangan. sebagai contoh ajaran syiah membolehkan nikah mut'ah sedangkan sunni mengharamkanya. syiah mengajarkan untuk tidak menghormati sabahat nabi yaitu abu bakar, umar dan utsman, sedang sunni menyuruh pengikutnya untuk mengikuti petuah para sahabat dan meneladaninya.

Similarly, the records strongly indicate that the Qur'an did not exist until long after it was supposed to have been delivered to the prophet of Islam."
"Did Muhammad exist? As a prophet of the Arabs who taught a vaguely defined monotheism, he may have existed. But beyond that, his life story is lost in the mists of legend, like those of Robin Hood and Macbeth. As the prophet of Islam, who received (or even claimed to receive) the perfect copy of the perfect eternal book from the supreme God, Muhammad almost certainly did not exist. There are too many gaps, too many silences, too many aspects of the historical record that simply do not accord, and cannot be made to accord, with the traditional account of the Arabian prophet teaching his Qur'an, energizing his followers to such an extent that they went out and conquered a good part of the world." In Syro-Aramaic, the language that preceded Arabic, the word "Muhammad" isn't a name but a *title* defined as "The Praised/Anointed One." This title was the Syro-Aramaic reference to "The Christ" of the Bible in Syria and vicinity which historical evidence indisputably proves, then it would have of an Arab Prophet whom is unable to be found outside of the Qu'ran/Hadiths minus the few spurious sources that can't be corroborated/verified by other contemporaneous sources sufficiently since being pseudopigraphica's, which coincidentally comes from Catholic sources, thereby being suspect as to error in translation understanding either by deliberate design or due to general illiteracy of such populations of these times in such areas, which as well would have assisted greatly in spreading the wrong translation definition.
Is the circa 1300-1400 year old story of an "Arab Prophet" built on factual history or is it a corrupted version of various astro-polytheistic pagan & heathen religions of western Mesopotamia merged with certain corrupted Biblical stories being understood in a philosophical/gnostic/heathen way with only touches of Abrahamic understanding when seen though the lens of evidential history? For the student whom diligently/rigorously seeks & studies factual ancient/classical history, digs even deeper, they'll find that Islam's monotheistic position begins when Constantinople "Christianity" (which includes OT and NT) has already been in the same areas since circa mid 4th century seeking converts. Could modern Islam be a Romanized/Byzantine cult that could be called "Arabian Arianism'? Thus intermixed accordingly with various anti-biblical ideologies/religions, which Roman/Greek "Christianity" basically is in different flavours depending on where it is in the world as in the case of Islam, and gave Islam it's start around 700AD (official evidence, not tradition) w/ an eerie clue being how closely the dress of a Islamic women (Hijab) and a Roman & Constantinople nun's covering is for example? Islam Di Jepang - Masyarakat Jepang Mulai Mempelajari Islam Yang Begitu Indah Ajarannya - Sebuah program acara televisi di jepang menayangkan sebuah diskusi mengenai terorisme Islam,namun seorang profesor ahli islam menjelaskan sebenarnya apa islam itu sesungguhnya dan bagaimana ajarannya
dari pertama semua anggota yang hadir memahami bahwasanya agama Islam menurut pandangan mereka adalah agama yang membawa terorisme dan peperangan,namun itu adalah anggapan mereka seperti yang disiarkan di televisi televisi dan media.
namun mereka belum memahami seperti apa sesungguhnya Islam sesungguhnya,akhirnya seorang profesor jepang yang mengerti tentang Islam menjelaskan lewat sebuah layar televisi,profesor tersebut menjelaskan tentang islam terorisme dan fundamentalis,yang pada dasarnya Islam yang disudutkan oleh media dicap sebagai agama teroris sebenarnya bukan sama sekali.
profesor jepang ini melanjutkan menerangkan tentang Islam,bahwa Islam disebut agama teroris dihembuskan oleh para sarjana kristen yang sejak dahulu membenci islam,mereka memusuhi Islam,dan membuat fitnah kepada agama islam,lalu profesor ini mengajak seorang gadis cantik Jepang untuk berjalan jalan ke Arab Saudi negeri asal Islam lahir
