GET HIP RECORDINGS Pittsburgh, PA's Best Garage and R&R label since 1987!

New Release: WEIRD OMEN “BREAKFAST BEFORE CHAOS” (Out 3/24)

Get Hip is proud to announce Breakfast Before Chaos, the sophomore LP by France’s wildest garage-psych-rock trio, Weird Omen:

Lost somewhere between the Cramps and the Kinks, WEIRD OMEN spits a unique blend primitive garage, a deluge of trash brass, of reverb and fuzzzzzz. Strange, you said strange???!!!!

Weird as strange. Strange, as their universe borrows just as much from a world of the crazy 50′s galaxy as from the British pop craze. Strange, as their line up is composed of guitar, saxophone, drums and three vocals.

Omen as the forerunner. The forerunner of trance garage with these three musicians stemming from diverse and recognized bands (King Khan & the Shrines, Bee Dee Kay & the Roller Coaster, Lost Communists, Limiñanas, We Are Not Indians, Escobar, Anomalys…).

The album, co-released with French imprint Beast Records, will be available March 24 on 12″ LP and CD. Head over to the Get Hip Webstore to pre-order you copy now!

Weird Omen is currently touring Europe in support of their new album. Click below for a complete list of tour dates.

POW WOWS 2016 European Tour

Since 2010 Pow Wows have released two albums and two singles on Get Hip Recordings and have shared the stage with the likes of The Cynics, Reigning Sound, The Fleshtones, Black Lips, No Bunny, King Gizzard, Night Beats, Crocodiles, Bleached, Jaill, The Nerves, Paul Collins Beat, The Ugly Beats, Rocket 455, Bad Sports, Timmy’s Organism, Jack Of Heart, Muck & The Mires, The Leather Uppers, The Brimstones, Twin Guns, The Above, The Electric Mess, The Higher State and many more!

With great excitement and anticipation Pow Wows take to the skies, head across the pond, and join forces with comrades-in-punkrock-arms Bobkat’65 and Jose & The Wastemen to lay sonic waste and demolition across the Iberian peninsula and the south of France. Supporting their critically acclaimed Broken Curses release on Get Hip!

“Pow Wows’ music, a torrent of refreshing and explosive sounds, enters your mind like an electric shock of surf and punk sensations, and that is exactly what happens when you play their album from the first minute til the last one”
- Dead Curious, Spain

“One of the mainstays of the Toronto garage rock scene, the Pow Wows like their music fast, loud, and atmospheric, giving their tunes a buzzy, swampy tone and a psychedelic overlay that sets them apart from other fuzzbox manglers following similar paths.”
