So I went Colaba few days back and I decided to take you guys along with me. Colaba causeway is a place in Mumbai, India where you can find almost everything. I love shopping at Colaba. I hope you enjoy this vlog. If you want me to do a haul then give this video a big thumbs up!

Colaba ([koˈlaːbaː]) is a part of the city of Mumbai, India, and also a Lok Sabha constituency. During Portuguese rule in the 16th century, the island was known as Candil. After the British took over the island in the late 17th century, it was known as Colio.
The name Colaba, comes from Kolabhat, a word in the language of Kolis, the indigenous inhabitants of the islands, before the arrival of Portuguese. The area that is now Colaba was originally a region consisting of two islands: Colaba and Little Colaba (or Old Woman's Island). The island of Colaba was one of the Seven islands of Bombay ruled by the Portuguese.
The Portuguese had acquired these lands from the Sultanate of Cambay by the Treaty of Bassein (1534). The group of islands was gifted by Portugal to Charles II of England as dowry when he married Catherine of Braganza. The cession of Bombay and dependencies was strongly resented by Portuguese officials in Goa and Bombay, who resisted transfer of possession for several years, while the English representatives were confined to the island of Anjediva while negotiations continued. Angered by the backtracking, Charles II leased these lands to the British East India Company for a nominal annual rent. Gerald Aungier, second Governor of Bombay (1672), and the president of the English settlement of Surat, took possession of Colaba and Old Woman's Island on behalf of the Company in 1675.

Conjuring images of times forgotten and latent hours of indulgence, Colaba Point's music makes for easy listening, often resorting to intermittent psychedelic explorations. Initially started as a jam project, the outfit has so far released three albums – Colaba Point (2011) - an album comprising mostly of impromptu jams which were recorded live on a portable audio recorder and Mildly Idyllic (2012) – which was inspired by a range of topics from traffic jams and Anna Hazare’s campaign to existentialism and fancy dinners. The band also released a live experimental EP Spring Time Blacks in 2013 followed by their latest album titled 'Future Flashbacks' in April 2015.
Colaba Point was also one of the 5 featured bands from Mumbai on SoundCloud Local Mumbai edition on the popular music sharing website. The band also won “The Best of AV MAX” award in 2012 in the Indian album category in Network 18’s AV MAX magazine. The track “Traffic Jam” from their album Mildly Idyllic was featured on the “Bombay Sounds” compilation released by OKListen and curated by Mumbai Boss. They were also MyOpusRadio’s Big Fish or featured artist of the month for May 2012.

In this series of Mumbai Video Tour Guide we explored some of the little quaint places, nooks and corners that are off the grid and off-the-map for enthusiasts and tourists to explore another side of the city. Usually, tourists look for places, restaurants, eateries, things to do that are removed from the normal tourist guide's itinerary. This way, they can explore the other side, the little known places and take back home memories. Also, for the teeming millions who populate the city, these videos act as a place of interest to visit. We did 3 cities in this project: Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru and the highlight was restaurants, night spots, bars, lounges, eateries and many such places to take a chill pill!

Usually, tourists look for places, restaurants, eateries, things to do that are removed from the normal tourist guide's itinerary. This way, they can explore the other side, the little known places and take back home memories. Also, for the teeming millions who populate the city, these videos act as a place of interest to visit. We did 3 cities in this project: Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru and the highlight was restaurants, night spots, bars, lounges, eateries and many such places to take a chill pill!

The lavishly decorated brown sandstone building dates back to1888 and is the most beautiful Victorian Gothic building in India, built during the high season of British colonial rule.
The Dhobi Ghats or 'Banks of the Washers', is the name of the 'Biggest laundrette in the world'. In the open air, hundreds of dhobis do much of the city's 'laundry'. In small allotments surrounded by low walls, launderers wash from dusk to dawn.
On Malabar Hill, between the villas of numerous film stars and luxury apartments, is the fascinating Adishwarji Jain Temple, a good place in which to gain an insight into the harsh rituals of the wealthy faithful who worshipped the first Jain saints. The legendary Hotel Taj Mahal Palace, with its striking façade and red cupolas, had a spectacular origin.
When industrial mogul, Tata, was refused entry to a British hotel restaurant by a sign that stated, FOR EUROPEANS ONLY, he decided to build the city's finest hotel.
Nowhere else are India's many remarkable contrasts so obvious and nowhere else can India be experienced so intensely as in Mumbai, mega metropolis and unique Gateway to India!

I was staying at Holiday Inn Express - Siam which is very close to the train station to catch the Sky Train and from my room window I could see the national stadium and Bangkok's landscape.
For shopping in Bangkok, visit Siam Paragon for all the high end brands, MBK mall and Platinum mall for clothes,watches,purses, etc. You can also find interesting stuff from the night markets that are held all around BKK like Patpong, Asiatique, Chatuchak, etc.
