Core Strategies for Non Profits shares her experience with FAVACA from
Bogota Colombia as her 2 week trainings with non-profits from around

A bit about the project:
Equilibrium Foundation (
Fundacion Equilibrio), a nonprofit with a mission to create equal collaboration amongst organizations, collectives, and groups to improve cooperation and
Solidarity Organization (Organizaciones Solidarias), a government ministry designed to formalize
NGOs, associations, collectives, and other volunteer work teamed up host a symposium to increase the reach and impact of four
American Professional Fellows facilitating in a three day
National Symposium on Volunteerism. FAVACA hosted both
Marcela Aragon of the Equilibrium Foundation and
Ricardo Ramirez of Solidarity
Organizations in the April professional fellows program and have been working with these individuals and their organizations to achieve greater impact and scale on developing organizational capacity in Colombia.
In Colombia there are many volunteer organizations who work locally to create change in their communities. Their informal work drew the attention of the national government of Colombia and through strategic partnerships they have created the
SNV. More than 800 attendees came together in
Armenia, Quindio, Colombia, to discuss ways in which everyone can further collaborate and share best practices in volunteer work.
The FAVACA volunteers, Terrie Temkin,
Robyn Perlman, Gail Meltzer of CoreStrategies for NonProfits and
Carlos Zepeda of
OMA Consulting travelled to Colombia on
October 28th to work with our partner organizations and strengthen their capacity to build international collaborations. The worked alongside
Indigenous organization
Women,

Everyone, and diverse departments of the government ministry Soildary Organizations. They then traveled to the conference from November 1-4.
