Utah (/ˈjuːtɔː/ or i/ˈjuːtɑː/; Navajo: Áshįįh bi Tó Hahoodzo; Arapaho: Wo'tééneihí ) is a state in the western United States. It became the 45th state admitted to the Union on January 4, 1896. Utah is the 13th-largest, the 31st-most populous, and the 10th-least-densely populated of the 50 United States. Utah has a population of nearly 3 million (Census estimate for July 1, 2015), approximately 80% of whom live along the Wasatch Front, centering on Salt Lake City. Utah is bordered by Colorado to the east, Wyoming to the northeast, Idaho to the north, Arizona to the south, and Nevada to the west. It also touches a corner of New Mexico in the southeast.
Approximately 62% of Utahns are reported to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or LDS (Mormons), which greatly influences Utah culture and daily life. The world headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) is located in Utah's state capital, Salt Lake City. Utah is the most religiously homogeneous state in the United States, the only state with a Mormon majority, and the only state with a majority population belonging to a single church.
Nephi is a city in Juab County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Provo–Orem, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 4,733 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Juab County. It was settled by Mormon pioneers in 1851, as Salt Creek until 1882 when it acquired its current name. It is the principal city in the Juab Valley, an agricultural area. Nephi was named after Nephi, son of Lehi from the Book of Mormon.
Before the area was settled, the site along Salt Creek was first a camping place along the Old Mormon Road to Southern California. When Mormon settlers established their settlement in 1851 it too was called, Salt Creek. It retained that name until 1882 when the town and its post office became Nephi.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.2 square miles (10.8 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 4,733 people, 1,430 households, and 1,149 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,133.8 people per square mile (438.2/km²). There were 1,552 housing units at an average density of 371.8 per square mile (143.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.98% White, 0.11% African American, 0.63% Native American, 0.46% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.97% from other races, and 0.82% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.45% of the population.

We had so much fun creating this travel guide of our hometown, Salt Lake City! It gave us a fresh perspective of how beautiful our home really is. It goes to show that no matter where you live, you can always find beauty near by. It's all about seeing your home with new eyes! On a different note, we filmed this just three weeks after having Greta, and I loved packing her around in my Solly Baby wraps! To me, there is nothing better than baby wearing. :) Solly Baby wraps: http://sollybaby.com/ -- THANKS FOR SUBSCRIBING & FOLLOWING OUR JOURNEY! -- INSTAGRAM: @haileydevine & @bradleydevine TWITTER: @haileydevine3 & @devine_brad SNAPCHAT: @haileydevine3 & @brad_devine WEBSITE/BLOG: http://www.somewheredevine.com VIDEO WORKSHOPS: http://www.somewheredevine.com/workshop

Travel video about destination Arches. Arches is an area in the U.S. state of Utah that is one of the most famous national parks in North America and owes its fame to its fantastic sandstone arches. In spite of its comparatively modest size of three hundred square kilometres it boasts one of the most magnificent landscapes in the south west of the United States. The park's natural arches have become its unmistakable landmark and the impressive process of erosion that began in Prehistoric times demonstrates how even the hardest rock can be manipulated by the forces of nature. Landscape Arch is one of the park's most striking formations. With a span of around a hundred metres it is one of the largest of its kind in the world. Delicate Arch rises up grandly and majestically above Cache Valley...
Travel video about destination Salt Lake City in the United States of America. What Mecca is to the Muslems and Rome is to the Catholics, is what Salt Lake City is to the Mormons. It is the capital of the U.S. state of Utah.Four mighty walls surround the 4 hectare area in the middle of the old town, the centre of the Mormon Church, Temple Square. It is decorated with flowers and contains the most important sacred buildings of the Mormon community, such as the Salt Lake Temple, The Tabernacle and Conference Centre. Joseph Smith, Jr. was 15 years old when he had his first vision. The Angel MORONI appeared to him and gave him a number of sacred texts that led to the foundation of the Mormon church. A sacred land was established and a settlement created within the desert. The largest sanctuary...

We move to the next viewpoint, the La Sal Mountain Viewpoint. From here we begin to understand how big the park. We travel to NE Utah to fish the famous Green River near Dutch John. My Father Joe Heister is along with Dano Bolton of Old Moe Guide Service.
Low tide conditions across the lower 48 meant we had to get creative and travel for some fun. After a trip up to Mt. Hoodoo we returned to Utah with frightening avy conditions. No better time to attempt to learn how to use our snowmobiles on the flat, open fields in our own back yard. We then had a surprise trip to Park City Powder Cats with the WidSix crew, while the snow was still low we had a blast. We finish the episode by going back to the Ranch with lead guide Bob to help discover some potentially new terrain.
In Episode 3 of Higher Unplugged, Jeremy Jones and his fellow athletes travel to Snowbird Resort to refine their mountaineering and rescue skills at the International Pro Riders’ Workshop presented by Teton Gravity Research and ICEdot. Started by TGR and former lead guide, Jim Conway, IPRW has emerged as an essential resource for these athletes. Each December, TGR’s production crew, athletes, and guides spend a week learning and reviewing the skills necessary to safely navigate backcountry terrain and respond to emergencies that may arise within it. With a curriculum that includes rope and rescue skills, snow science, group dynamics, and wilderness first aid, the International Pro Riders’ Workshop helps skiers and snowboarders push further into the backcountry—and safely return from it. ...

One of 65 gliders racing under amazing storm shelves during day 6 of the 2016 15 Meter, Standard, and Open Class Glider Nationals held in Nephi, Utah. I really enjoyed this flight. There are some great 10 knot thermal climbs on video and a fast and bumpy final glide at the end. I really hope you enjoy! Here is the gps trace of the flight: http://www.onlinecontest.org/olc-2.0/gliding/flightinfo.html?dsId=5164502 Thanks so much Andy Blackburn for the amazing drone footage shown during the start of each of these race day videos. The glider is an ASW27 and the pilot is Bruno Vassel IV. Camera is a GoPro. Thanks for watching! Bruno - B4
Here is my flight from the 3rd official race day for the 2016 USA Gliding Nationals held at Nephi, Utah in June. 65 glider pilots from all over the country (and world) came to have two weeks of amazing soaring in central Utah. I am flying an asw27b glider and the video camera is a GoPro Hero3. I hope you enjoy the video. Bruno - B4
The 2016 soaring championship for 15 meter, Standard Class, and Open Class gliders took place in Nephi, Utah. 65 pilots from all over the country (and world) joined us for 12 days of exciting racing in the amazing Utah skies. On many days, we saw average task speeds well in excess of over 100 mph. I took my camera up with me to record some of my experiences while flying the contest. I hope you enjoy! The drone footage was shot over the airport following all of the FAA guidelines. The airport was notam'd closed and we had full permission and support from the airport manager. What a great opportunity to film such an event from the air above! Thanks Andy! Day two of the 2016 Nephi Open, Standard, and 15 meter glider nationals. This was another fun practice day heading out to the east and then down south before swinging west and home. I had a fun fast run down a canyon towards the end coming home. Fun to share! OLC flight trace: http://www.onlinecontest.org/olc-2.0/gliding/flightinfo.html?dsId=5139579 Thanks so much to Andy Blackburn for the amazing airport footage at the beginning. He met all FAA requirements to fly the drone at the airport during this event. The glider is a 15 meter ASW-27B and camera used is a GoPro 3 Black. Location is in Nephi, Utah which is about 60 miles south of Salt Lake City, Utah. Hope you enjoy! Bruno - B4
A dream come true to finally document a glider flying a 750km FAI triangle record flight! The sailplane in this flight took off from Nephi, Utah and flew to Mormon Mesa, Colorado (in the middle of nowhere!), then flew over the amazing San Rafael and Cedar Mountain recreation areas (basically the moon here on earth) on its way to near Cedar City, Utah and then back up north to Nephi to complete the course. The flight has been submitted and multiple Utah state glider records possibly were achieved. Here is a link to view where the flight went: http://www.onlinecontest.org/olc-2.0/gliding/flightinfo.html?dsId=3829255 The conditions the first half of the flight were challenging but were quite fun to fly in. The result was a slower cross country speed during this time on course, but the cloud...
This video shows the second half of my glider winch training to earn a ground launch endorsement. I've always wanted to do this! It is an amazing rocket ship ride getting airborne in less than 2 seconds and climbing faster than an airliner on takeoff! Filmed at Nephi, Utah in a Grob Twin Astir glider using our club's newly refurbished winch with Bill Daniels in the back seat instructing. You will see a few higher launches and practice zero G pushovers simulating a rope break while ascending, and then we do actual rope releases while on tow starting up high and progressively getting lower. The pilot must then decide what is the safest way to land based on how high the glider is at release and its position over the airport. It is both challenging and Crazy fun! The pilot must always re...
My first soaring / gliding / flying video of 2017. Sorry for the long delay. Life's kept me busy. This was a fun late spring day flown from Nephi, Utah with temperatures around 70 F (21 C) and cloud bases low for the western USA at around 12,500'. I decided to go fly up to the Great Salt Lake western edge about 85 miles northwest of Nephi. I don't normally go in that direction. There is a short farewell to our great friend and mentor Matt Wright better known as Balleka here on youtube. We will greatly miss him. I try talking to ATC (SLC approach) from my glider with mixed success. My glider radio is not wonderful so I was nervous about them understanding me and my understanding them. SLC ATC showed they are friendly, helpful, and are real pros. Don't ever be afraid to talk to ATC....
