ABOUT MARCO RUBIO
For Marco Rubio, America is not just the country where he was born -- it is the place that changed his family’s history. His parents came to America from Cuba in 1956 to pursue a better life. His father became a bartender, and his mother became a cashier, a maid and a Kmart stock clerk. Growing up in Las Vegas and Miami, Marco watched how his parents worked hard and sacrificed to give their children a life better than their own. They never made it big, but they were successful. They achieved the American Dream. And that is why he is running for president. For too many people, the American Dream feels impossible. Opportunity and success seems far away. But Marco has worked tirelessly to restore the hope and promise that the American Dream is real and that every American can achieve their own unique version of that dream. As U.S. Senator, Marco has led a bold offensive to institute innovative, conservative ideas to address the fundamental issues our country is facing and to restore hope in the American Dream. His ideas are firmly rooted in this simple truth – the American economy has changed significantly in recent decades and our policies must change with it. He has proposed conservative reforms to our nation’s anti-poverty laws, tax code, regulatory policies, higher education system, vital senior safety net programs and national defense. For Marco, this country has provided him so much -- the chance to graduate from the University of Florida and then the University of Miami’s law school. The chance to marry his wife Jeanette in 1998, with whom he is raising four children: Amanda, Daniella, Anthony and Dominick. And the chance for both of them to give back through public service as a West Miami city commissioner; a Florida state legislator that rose to become majority whip, majority leader and speaker of the house; and since 2011, as a U.S. Senator. For all the opportunities this country has provided Marco and his family, including all that Jeanette has accomplished through her charitable work, he is indebted to this great country. He believes that he owes America for the opportunities that this country has given him and his family. He believes the American Dream is still possible for all Americans. But make no mistake: it will require new leadership and a bold conservative reform agenda built for the 21st century. Join Marco today to reclaim the American Dream and make sure this century becomes a New American Century.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush took a dig at businessman Donald Trump’s warm feelings toward Vladimir Putin during Saturday night's presidential debate, sparking an argument that ranged from the Iraq War to the makeup of the debate audience.
“Donald Trump brought up the fact that he would want to accommodate Russia,” Bush said, before criticizing Russia’s lack of effort against the so-called Islamic State. “It is absolutely ludicrous to suggest that Russia could be a positive partner in this.”
“Let me just tell you this. Jeb is so wrong,” Trump said, before working in a jab at the audience who booed the comment.
“You know what that is? That's Jeb's special interests and lobbyists talking,” he said. After garnering a second round of boos for a jab at Lindsay Graham’s poll numbers, he added, “I only tell the truth, lobbyists." Trump and Bush later scuffled again over President George W. Bush’s foreign policy.
“Obviously the war in Iraq was a big, fat mistake, all right?” Trump said, arguing that Jeb Bush took too long to reach the same conclusion.
“Obviously, it was a mistake. George Bush made a mistake. We can make mistakes, but that one was a beauty. We should have never been in Iraq.”
“Frankly, I could care less about the insults that Donald Trump gives to me," Bush replied. "It's blood sport for him. He enjoys it, and I'm glad he's happy about it. He continued, “I'm sick and tired of him going after my family. My dad is the greatest man alive in my mind.”
The audience again audibly sided with Bush, marking just the latest in a series of debate moments where Trump has incurred the hostility of attendees.
At a rally in Manchester, N.H. on Monday, Trump told the crowd that the attendees are often well-connected people who can get tickets from the campaigns, such as lobbyists and deep-pocketed donors. Trump said that since he doesn't rely on these people, he doesn't always have the same base of support in the audience.

Jeb and Trump go head-to-head over George W Bush's legacy

Donald Trump just couldn't resist going after Jeb Bush during tonight's debate over his brother George's decision to invade Iraq after the September 11 terrorist attacks, setting up an intense argument with his nemesis that saw the entire Bush clan invoked.
'The World Trade Center came down during the reign of George Bush,' Trump shouted during the argument.
Moderator John Dickerson tee'd Trump up for the verbal assault by asking if he still believes the ex-Republican president should have been impeached over Iraq following the discovery that the country's dictator did not have weapons of mass destruction as the U.S. government claimed.
'Obviously the war in Iraq is a big fat mistake,' Trump said.
Jabbing Jeb, Trump mocked his Republican rival's struggle last year to defend his brother's record while admitting that the war was based on incorrect information and was therefore a mistake.
'It took him five days, he went back - it was a mistake, it wasn't a mistake - it took him five days before his people told him what to say and he ultimately said it was a mistake.'
Trump said, 'Obviously it was a mistake. George Bush made a mistake, we can make mistakes, but that one was a beauty. We should have never been in Iraq. We have destabilized the Middle East.'
The leading GOP candidate was visibly and vocally incensed as he responded to Dickerson's question about impeachment, 'You do whatever you want, you call it whatever you want.
'I want to tell you, they lied, they said there were weapons of mass destruction, there were none and they knew there were none. There were no weapons of mass destruction,' he declared.
Bush demanded to respond to the assault on his family and said, 'So here's the deal. I'm sick and tired of Barack Obama blaming my brother for all of the problems that he's had.

Script:
US Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia has died while on a hunting trip in Texas. The death of the staunchly conservative, justice means the balance of power on America’s most powerful court will now shift to the democrats, as President Obama will almost certainly nominate a liberal justice to fill the vacancy.
Scalia was one of the most important and influential people in the entire country.
Appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1986, Scalia served on the court for nearly 30 years and helped decide countless cases that have shaped modern American history, including the 2000 Bush v. Gore election recount decision that settled the Presidency in George W. Bush’s favor and the 2010 Citizens United case that allowed unlimited election spending by individuals and corporations and the rise of Super PACs.
Scalia is survived by his wife, Maureen and his nine children.
His death gives President Obama the opportunity to seat his third Supreme Court justice, after earlier appointing Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.
This is the current makeup of the court:
Chief Justice John Roberts was appointed by the Republican President George W. Bush along with the other W. Bush appointee Samuel Alito. The conservative wing also includes Clarence Thomas, appointed by the Republican President George H.W. Bush and the more moderate Anthony Kennedy, appointed by Ronald Reagan.
The four liberal justices are Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer, both appointed by Bill Clinton, and Sotomayor and Kagan, seated by Obama.
With the Republicans in control of the US Senate, the body of congress that votes to confirm Supreme Court nominees, the stage is set for a dramatic election year battle to decide Scalia’s successor.
What do you think of this news and who do you think Obama should nominate to replace him?

Republican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush called Russia's President Vladimir Putin "a bully" during a campaign rally in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, on Saturday, as he outlined his view on Russia's reunification with Crimea ahead of the South Carolina primaries.
Speaking to packed hall of supporters, Bush said "You can't call Russia a regional power insulting them to the core and allowing them to invade another country thirty days later. You have to engage, so what should be the engagement? Further sanctions." He went on to slam incumbent President Barack Obama for blaming former president George W. Bush for current mischiefs.

As the Republican primary battleground shifts to South Carolina, Jeb Bush has a new way of dealing with his family history: embracing it.The former Florida governor has taken the new tack in the Palmetto State, where he's locked in a battle with Senator Marco Rubio—a fellow Floridian whom he'd previously mentored. His dad, President George H.W. Bush? "The greatest man alive," he said Friday at a rally in Anderson, South Carolina. His brother? The presidential hopeful says he remains nothing but proud of George W. Bush. And Barbara Bush? Don't even get him started. He "won the lottery" on that one, he told a crowd at the Anderson, South Carolina Civic Center."I had a front row seat to watch history unfold," he told a crowd of supporters about growing up in a political family. "I've been totally blessed to be in a unique place where I've seen history unfold and I've seen leadership when it was done right."He singled out special admiration for the former first lady, who last month appeared in football shoulder pads and eye black for a picture tweeted by the campaign in a jab at Trump. That shot followed the billionaire real estate developer's own attack on on Twitter for leaning on support from his mother following her appearance in a campaign video touting her son's readiness to lead the fight against ISIS."Frankly, when my little eyes opened up 63 years and a day ago in Midland, Texas, I opened my eyes and she was there—I won the lottery in Barbara Bush," Bush said during the rally, which came the day after spending his birthday on the campaign trail. Bush's comments come as he's locked in an increasingly personal battle in the state with former political student Marco Rubio, who's accused him of lacking foreign policy credentials. The state has been good to his family and his brother, President George W. Bush, in 2000 went on to win the nomination after losing to John McCain in New Hampshire as the victory allowed him to recapture momentum.
In a year when Donald Trump sits atop the Republican pack and voters have said they are fed up with insider politicians, Bush has had to contend with the one thing he can't run from: his own name. On the Democratic side, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders resoundingly defeated former secretary of state Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire as voters make the anti-establishment theme on both sides of the aisle.Bush is deploying the family name, and the years of political experience it stands for, to hit back. After Trump’s repetition of a vulgarity at a campaign rally ahead of the New Hampshire primary last week, Bush slammed him in a gathering of evangelical students at Bob Jones University in Greenville."I can't imagine my dad doing that," he told the crowd. And his brother "was always wearing a suit in the Oval Office because he viewed it as hallowed ground."But perhaps his sharpest attacks came earlier in the day at the Anderson stop, where he said Cruz and Rubio are too inexperienced for the White House. Bush has attempted to position himself as a steady hand among a gang of neophytes and incompetents."What in the life experiences of Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio would suggest they can make a tough decision when the going gets tough?" Bush asked this morning at a rally in Anderson. "It's possible, but they are untested people in dangerous and risky times—it's a risk."Never one to be left out, Trump fired back today on Twitter claiming the campaign may be draw to an end for Bush."Last time lightweight @JebBush tried to knock off @marcorubio he made a total fool of himself. If he doesn't do better this time, he's out!"

After two primary contest, the focus of the presidential election is shifting towards gaining the support of people of color, especially headed into the South Carolina primary. Republican Jeb Bush has recruited his brother, former president George W. Bush, to help him campaign in South Carolina, a move that was slammed by opponent Donald Trump. Marco Rubio is focusing on his foreign policy experience, while Trump skipped over South Carolina to campaign in Florida. On the Democrat's side, both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have met with civil rights leaders to discuss the issues facing the Black community. At their debate Thursday, Clinton attacked Sanders for criticizing President Barack Obama and attempted to make the case that she was the rightful heir to Obama's legacy.

A fired up Jeb Bush went on the attack in South Carolina on Thursday, calling out front-runner Donald Trump's bombast and portraying himself as the sane alternative. Bush, the former governor of Florida and son and brother of ex-presidents, is looking to the Palmetto State to help revive his flagging White House bid. At a rally in Florence, Bush acknowledged that Trump has connected with the electorate's populist anger, but criticized the billionaire for preying on fears."We're in a time of deep disaffection. People are really angry and they're scared more importantly," Bush told nearly two hundred supporters packed into the Venus restaurant. "People are legitimately angry and we have a front-running candidate who disparages women, Hispanics, calls John McCain a loser because he got caught and was a POW. This is ridiculous."Bush is coming off a fourth-place finish last week in New Hampshire, and has a busy week of meet-and-greets in restaurants as well as town halls across South Carolina. Bush's brother, former President George W. Bush, plans to campaign with him next week. In the 2000 Republican primary, George W. Bush bounced back from a second place finish in New Hampshire to win South Carolina and go on to claim the party's nomination. This year, the so-called establishment lane also includes second-place New Hampshire finisher John Kasich, the governor of Ohio, and Florida Senator Marco Rubio. The trio has turned on each other as they vie to become the sole alternative in the race to Trump. In the Florence appearance, and later during a stop in Sumter, Bush pitched himself as a "disruptor" who's still able to provide a steady hand on the tiller and who's ready for any emergency that could arise. Despite repeatedly attacking Trump, however, he largely refrained from firing shots at Kasich and Rubio."If we nominate Donald Trump, we're going to be destroyed in the general election," Bush said. "But if he won, it would be a disaster as well."
In a state with a large percentage of evangelical voters, Bush made sure to note that Jesus is his savior and a guiding light for him in times of crisis. He cited his 1995 conversion to Catholicism, saying it had re-energized his faith.Yet connecting with South Carolina voters might not be as easy as tailoring a stump speech. James Berry, the manager at the Venus restaurant, said he wasn't swayed by Bush's argument for why he should support him rather than Trump. "We know how the Bushes are; we love you guys," Berry said. "But everybody is tired of politicians. Nobody else is saying that China rips us off. I don't hear a lot of politicians saying that, and I'm so scared that we're going to get a politician in there and he's going to do the same old thing."

Jeb Bush announced that his brother and former United States President George W. Bush will be speaking on his behalf at a rally in South Carolina. Jeb states, “I’ve never had this problem that you all apparently thought I had: I’m a Bush, proud of it… I’m proud of the fact he’s coming… this is the first time that he’s really stepped out in the political realm since he was president.” Jeb Bush is hoping his brother will help him gain voters, because of South Carolina’s previous support of the Bush Family.

Jeb Bush has had a weak start to his campign for President, but he will be gettng big support in South Carolina. According to Reuters, former President Geaorge W. Bush will appear at a rally Monday in support of his brother. The appearance of the former president could help Bush's stumbling campaign, after he finished fourth in the New Hamsphire primary. Bush is fighting to stand out as an establishment candidate against Marco Rubio who has done worse than expected so far. Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are currently winning the Republican battle, having won New Hamsphire and Iowa respectively.

After former President George W. Bush featured in a recent Jeb Bush radio ad in South Carolina, Jeb joined "The Kelly File" tonight to explain why his big brother is featuring his campaign now.
He said that after six months of preliminary activity including one caucus and a primary, now "is the proper time for my brother to express his support for my candidacy."
"He's pretty popular down here in South Carolina. I'm expecting that people will appreciate seeing him and they certainly like the ad," the former Florida governor said.
Megyn Kelly pointed out that George W. Bush enjoys a 77 percent approval rating among Republicans now, and asked Bush what he thought about GOP front-runner Donald Trump calling the former president "a disaster."
Bush said that he loves his family, who have supported him in this campaign. "I'm proud of being a Bush," he said. "If Donald Trump wants to go after my brother, man, I think that won't be helpful."
He went on to say that Trump is "not a conservative -- he's someone who tries to insult his way to the nomination. He's a great entertainer...but he's not a leader."

In 1999, near the height of the dot com boom, The New York Times approached Krugman to write a bi-weekly column on "the vagaries of business and economics in an age of prosperity." His first columns in 2000 addressed business and economic issues, but as the 2000 US presidential campaign progressed, Krugman increasingly focused on George W. Bush's policy proposals. According to Krugman, this was partly due to "the silence of the media - those 'liberal media' conservatives complain about...." Krugman accused Bush of repeatedly misrepresenting his proposals, and criticized the proposals themselves. After Bush's election, and his perseverance with his proposed tax cut in the midst of the slump (which Krugman argued would do little to help the economy but substantially raise the fiscal deficit), Krugman's columns grew angrier and more focused on the administration.

House of Bush, House of Saud: The Secret Relationship Between the World's Two Most Powerful Dynasties is a 2004 book by Craig Unger that explores the relationship between the Saudi Royal Family and the Bush extended political family. Unger asserts that the groundwork for today's terrorist movements and the modern wars that have sprung up about them was unintentionally laid more than 30 years ago with a series of business deals between the ruling Saudis and the powerful Bush family. The Saudis received investments and military protection in exchange for cooperation on lucrative oil deals. The author claims that the result has been a shady alliance between "the world's two most powerful dynasties." Unger writes, "Never before has an American president been so closely tied to a foreign power that harbors and supports our country's mortal enemies."

The Politics of Truth: Inside the Lies that Led to War and Betrayed My Wife's CIA Identity: A Diplomat's Memoir (New York: Carroll & Graf, 2004; paperback ed., 2005), by former Ambassador Joseph Wilson IV, was first published as a hardcover edition in 2004.
Both a political and personal memoir, Wilson's autobiographical account of over two decades of his life in foreign service includes detailed descriptions of his extensive diplomatic, including his career, his first two marriages, and his courtship and marriage to Valerie Plame, his third and current wife. Primarily, however, the book is a detailed narrative of the events leading to his decision to go public with his criticisms of the George W. Bush administration and its aftermath, extended in appendices of chronological "timelines" and "Newspaper Commentaries Published by Ambassador Joseph Wilson Before and After the United States Invasion of Iraq in 2003" (461-86).
