Tips for Whiplash Injuries - Reaading, PA Auto Accident Doctor
My name is Dr.
Lori Kalie, and I would like to talk to you today about whiplash. When you have a whiplash injury, and you go to the ER or your family doctor, they are going to give you medication, possibly. That will only mask the pain. If you have symptoms, you want to get checked out by a qualified doctor that is trained in whiplash auto accident injuries. The symptoms of whiplash are neck pain, shoulder pain, numbness and tingling in your hands, dizziness, nausea, blurred vision. The pain can start right away or it may take hours, days, or weeks for the symptoms to occur. Initially, you will want to rest and not move around. That's fine for a day or two, but then you will want to get back to normal activities because rest will just weaken and stiffen the muscles. You want to start to do

Right? And over the course of a couple of generations, parenting has become a co-job and you can see a Dad just as easily taking his kid to the doctor or going to a school
function and helping out. it's become a definition of men in this new generation to be family caretakers -- to be involved -- to go to the soccer games even if their not coaching , right? And to go to the birthday parties at school when you have to hand out little cupcakes with candles in them. That's become a new definition, right? Rory is a reflection of modern day fathers and what women are looking for ina modern man, if they're going to spend the rest of their life. You want somebody else who's going to help you clean the toilet.
Right? When you get married, it's not just you cooking dinner every night.
It's a shared job. It didn't use to be. I had a friend who would go to work, her husband got home an hour before she did. He would sit on the couch and wait for her to get home and start making dinner, 'cause dinner was her job.
Yeah, yeah. So things have switched around and the show is reflective of that. I think that's really beautiful. And, of course, we know who the baby grew up to be.
River Song! Who allows us a family of "Ponds", even though they were stripped of the chance to raise her. We now have a
Pond family as part of
The Doctor's story and again Rory overlooking all of that. He had to deal with his feelings of losing his chance to raise his child. That was something that harmed him, more than all the danger. How many times did Rory die.
Really now. All those deaths didn't bother him nearly as much as being denied the chance to raise his own child. So, I think that defines him much more deeply as a family man above all other things.

Sharapova getting banned after doping for 10 years
Russian tennis player
Maria Sharapova announced to the press in
Los Angeles, Monday, that she had failed a drug test at the
Australian Open. The 28-year-old said her family doctor had been giving her medicine ‘Meldonium’ for the past 10 years which was not on the banned substances list until recently.
Sharapova admitted she'd “made a huge mistake” and that she didn’t “want to end her career this way."
Meldonium, was added to the
World Anti-Doping Agency's list of banned substances on Jan. 1, 2016. It is used to treat ischemia, or a lack of blood flow.

"The surgery on the donor and the recipient, used techniques that have been well established through transplantation of the other solid organs. They're a little bit more complex for this particular transplant because the uterus lies deep inside the pelvis and is difficult to access and the vessels are all deep inside the pelvis as well. So it's a little bit more difficult that way. Our first uterine transplant took place on
February 24th lasted approximately nine hours and I'm pleased to report to you that our patient is doing very well."

FIRST UTERUS TRANSPLANT PATIENT IN U.S., SAYING:
"First and foremost I would like to take a moment to express the immense gratitude I feel towards my donor's family. They have provided me with the gifts that I will never be able to pay and I am beyond thankful for them. However the reason I chose to speak today is that I want to be open and honest and to share my story and that when I was 16 and was told I would never have children. And from that moment on I have prayed that God would allow me the opportunity to experience pregnancy and here we are today at the beginning of that journey. I am so thankful to this amazing team of doctors and all the nurses and staff who worked around the clock to ensure my safety and I feel like I found a new family in all of them. I am a mother already to three beautiful little boys that
Blake and I have adopted through the foster care system. Because of that I would ask that you would all please respect our privacy and we will give updates as we can."

STORY: The medical team that performed the first uterus transplant in the
United States told reporters on Monday (March 7) that the surgery was a success.
"Our first uterine transplant took place on February 24th lasted approximately nine hours and I'm pleased to report to you that our patient is doing very well," head of the
Cleveland Clinic surgical team, Dr.
Andreas Tzakis said.
The team of doctors went on to explain that this is only the first step in the journey towards pregnancy and that the process can take several years, allowing time for the uterus to heal and gain strength before attempting pregnancy.
The 26-year-old patient, who was only identified as
Lindsey, received the organ from a deceased donor.
Lindsey, wheeled in by her husband Blake, gave a brief statement while seated in a wheel chair. She thanked the donor's family and the team that performed the surgery.
"The reason I chose to speak today is that I want to be open and honest and to share my story and that when I was 16 and was told I would never have children. And from that moment on I have prayed that God would allow me the opportunity to experience pregnancy and here we are today at the beginning of that journey," Lindsey said.
Last year, the Cleveland Clinic began screening candidates for uterus transplants, which replace a non-functioning uterus, potentially allowing a woman to become pregnant and give birth.
A research team at the hospital continues to screen transplant candidates with Uterine
Factor Infertility (
UFI), an irreversible condition found in 3 percent to
5 percent of women worldwide, the hospital said in a statement.
In 2014, a
Swedish woman became the world's first to give birth after having a womb transplant.

You want to start to do rehabilitation, consisting of light stretching. You also want to see a qualified doctor that can prescribe some physiotherapy for you so that you can start to heal. The longer that you wait to seek help the longer it will take for your injuries to heal. You can also use ice on your whiplash injuries on your neck, upper back, and shoulder area for
20 minutes on and 20 minutes off several times per day. That will help to reduce the inflammation and speed the healing. I am a doctor that is trained in whiplash and car accident injuries. If you are in the

I joined Duke in
2015 as a faculty member in the departments of
Community and Family Medicine and Psychiatry. As part of my practice, I treat both physical and mental illnesses to improve overall patient well-being. My goal is to empower patients to take charge of their own health. Aside from direct patient care, I also work within the Duke Family Medicine
Residency Program developing behavioral health curriculum and training residents. My professional interests include primary care psychiatry, medical education, and integrated care.
Outside of medicine I enjoy movies, traveling, and college sports.
