Native Chinese Writing in Three Levels of Neatness
For Simplified Character learners this should be a good eye/literacy trainer. Each Chinese character (simplified) is written 4 times neat, then 4 times more cursive, and finally 4 times as a Chinese person might write in a personal note. It was a common experience in China that when somebody showed me anything they'd written by hand, I found it to be like reading a completely new script. At the

All 100,000 Chinese characters are merely different combinations of 400 simple pictographs and ideographs (think Egyptian hieroglyphs). In order to rapidly learn Chinese characters and successfully retain them, the secret is to first thoroughly master these 400 basic pictographic components!
Our radical approach ("部首", ha ha) to quickly mastering copious amounts of Chinese characters is this: Learn the basic pictographic components 幺 艹 白 木 before attempting to the learn the Chinese character 藥.
Consider for a moment that in chemistry you learn the basic elements of the periodic table before learning more complex compounds. Similarly, in phonetic languages like English you learn the basic phonetic symbols A B C before you learn a complex word like "medicine". Our online curriculum utilizes this same logical "building block" methodology to learn Chinese characters.

Learning Chinese characters is easier than many students realize. The problem is that many students are still studying Chinese characters using out-dated and inefficient methods.
To understand the best way to learn Chinese characters it's useful to understand how they were originally developed.
This video gives a brief explanation of the main ways in which characters have been developed by looking at different character types, including:
- pictographic characters
- indicative and associative characters
- and most importantly, the picto-phonetic characters
Of these, the picto-phonetic method is responsible for 80% of Chinese characters and is the key to learn Chinese characters efficiently.
By studying series of characters that share a common phonetic root students can easily learn 20-30 new characters in a single lesson.
The Remembr.it Chinese Character course uses this methodology to help students easily study over 2000 of the most commonly used characters.

This is part of my cartoon series to help beginner and intermediate students of Mandarin Chinese, as well as Cantonese and Japanese, memorize character parts. When you first look at a Chinese text, it may seem that characters are made out of random strokes and dots, but it's not so. In fact, there are just a few dozen so-called radicals, and maybe a couple hundred otherwise classified character components, that comprise a fair share of most commonly used characters, which is not that much after all. If I can do it, you can do it. BTW you can spend your time better re-watching the video than reading this nonsense, as I'm only writing it cause I heard putting lots of key words and Kangxi Radicals along with Kanji Japanese students, language learning polyglots, helps people find the video in the search. I should have probably mentioned that earlier. Chinese reading, and Chinese writing, and Chinese calligraphy... All of that is Mandarin Chinese. I am a lot of fun - subscribe. Remembering Chinese Characters is quick and easy if you know the parts of the character. Whether you are a beginner, an intermediate or an advanced student, you'll find many radicals are similar to each other. How to differentiate between them? You can watch my cartoon series that aims to do just that. For other characters check out the following free resources http://www.wordbuddy.com/ http://www.yellowbridge.com/chinese/dictionary.php where you can see character parts along with translations. Whatever you do, don't read on as it will be for youtube algorythms so my vid shows up in search. I therefore mention Cantonese and Japanese, and Beijing and Guangdong and even Shanxi and Chinese calligraphy for beginners, aka free lessons classes and learning Asian culture. Is there an alphabet in Mandain? China, simplified. How do you write Chinese characters, what is the meaning of 214 Kangxi radicals and Kanji in China, all while history of writing. And learning Chinese by yourself, super easy lesson Chinese for starters, while also advanced Mandarin strokes order, not to mention Mandarin Characters, pinyin or zhuyin. Enjoy your day, I love you all.

At the end you can challenge yourself to read full sentences in the messiest writing.

Learning processes:
I cut the Chinese word into different parts so as to make it easier to memorize.
I will repeat the words from 3 to 10 times.
Each time I will erase some parts of the words, and you have to fill it in. You can do it on a paper or just in your mind.
I will put a complete word beside the incomplete one. It is up to you to look at it or not. Don’t be shy if you have to have a look, it is just a learning process.
At the end, you will need a paper, because you will try to write the whole word by yourself.

1. I cut the Chinese word into different parts so as to make it easier to memorize.
2. I will repeat the words from 3 to 10 times.
3. Each time I will erase some parts of the words, and you have to fill it in. You can do it on a paper or just in your mind.
4. I will put a complete word beside the incomplete one. It is up to you to look at it or not. Don’t be shy if you have to have a look, it is just a learning process.
5. At the end, you will need a paper, because you will try to write the whole word by yourself.

Speaker: Der-lin Chao
Finding the most effective ways to teach and learn Chinese characters is a challenge faced by beginning-level instructors and students. Training to become fluent in character recognition is the first step students must take if they want to read Chinese texts and to achieve an advanced level of literacy in Chinese. To help students overcome their difficulties in learning the Chinese writing system, and to make texts composed in formal Chinese more accessible to students, it is essential that researchers and educators recognize the role and value of character instruction in the process of learning Chinese as a second language, from beginning through advanced levels of literacy development.
Beginning students should be provided with systematic instruction in character formation methods, strokes, stroke order, character components (especially radicals), and ways to facilitate memorization of characters. Furthermore, character instruction should not be restricted to merely acquiring these mechanical skills; instead, Chinese language teachers should incorporate an overall understanding of the historical development of Chinese scripts and its role in Chinese culture, art, and contribution to world civilizations. This presentation will introduce and demonstrate A New Multimedia Course in Learning Chinese Characters. These technology-enhanced materials will help students overcome their difficulties in learning the Chinese writing system and help them to achieve the advanced level of literacy needed to read Chinese texts.

Free Online Mandarin Chinese Lesson. Please LIKE me on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/Crazymandarinchinese
In this video I am demonstrating the best method I found to learn fast and efficient a large amount of traditional Chinese characters without much effort. I am picking a school book lesson with 47 new expressions and demonstrate how to quickly get a command of the vocabulary in only 35 minutes. No tricks, no magic it is all real.
In order to learn such a large amount of characters in such a short time I am using the method of building small stories for each characters using the 214 Kang Hsi radicals which every foreigner should use because adults learn a graphical language in a totally different way than kids. In Taiwan the kids don't even get taught the radicals during their education but yet they can easily remember a vast amount of characters simply due to learning them at a young age. Well it just does not work for foreigners the same!

【Yang Lan’s exclusive interview with Master Hsing Yun】
At the end of 2013, Master Hsing Yun became the first Buddhist monk to receive “The Brilliance of China-Choice for Chinese Cultural Promoters of the Year” Award. He met Chinese President Xi Jinping twice in a year and his writings were recommended by President Xi. In March 2014, he won the “Global Outstanding Lifelong Achievement Award”.
Despite being 88 years old and close to losing his sight, Master Hsing Yun continues to travel back and forth for cultural communication between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits.
What is his motivation? What makes him worry about the current state of affairs?
How does he promote Chinese culture worldwide and to future generations?
