Justin Rants: Shut up about Nomadic Fanatic
Tired of it, every channel that has made a video against the guy just boggles my mind...why would you bother? Even IF all the shit is true about Nomadic Fanatic or any other van dweller, is that why you're on YouTube? To attack people? If so, perhaps get outside more often. It's a lot easier to switch to another video and tune out someone you don't like. Coming to YouTube to see van life videos is

LYRICS
Let’s skip all the histrionics/Not again, not another excuse
The Epidemic is Codependent/Biting off more than your mouth can chew
Don’t forget to convalesce your secrets/I don’t want to be a man today
For all you know, I’m the Silver in the Bullet
I am the trigger that will make you all OBEY
I’m going to make you cry tonight-I’m going to make you hate me
Inside All My Flaws Again (I can’t let go)
In Spite Of You, I’m Lost Again (I still don’t know)
Disguises Show Me- What Am I If I Am Only?
The Status Quo Is Not A Punishment… But Now It Feels Like Home
Your association finds you guilty/starting with the end of the day
Black and white is such a fascist feeling/right or wrong, and nothing to say
The last good bipeds cleaning up the fingerprints/unappreciated medical fiends
Confiscate another classic inbred/Fuck It All- Light The Acetylene
No other choice, I can’t explain-Life keeps taking things away
Inside All My Flaws Again (I can’t let go)
In Spite Of You, I’m Lost Again (I still don’t know)
Disguises Show Me- What Am I If I Am Only?

Mat and Danielle spent their first date bonding over Lloyd Kahn’s book “Home Work” and discussing their ideas for simplifying their lives. They became a couple, but “somewhere along the way, we ended up doing the exact opposite of what we wanted,” explains Danielle on their blog.
“Instead of simplifying, we bought a house and spent months hauling furniture, paint and knick knacks into it to surround ourselves with stuff that we liked. Our bills went up so we got better jobs, started working more, and eventually all we did was work during the day and watch Netflix every night because we were too exhausted to do anything else.”
“Mat was the first to suggest making a change because he found our lifestyle stressful, but I resisted at first. I was really caught up in the idea of owning my own place, maybe starting a family one day and planning for an amazing retirement. I was also excited that I had a new full time job with benefits and that we were financially stable. Eventually I realized that all I was doing was working and I didn’t even like my job anymore. We decided that we should do something crazy: sell our house, quit our jobs and travel the world.”
Today, Mat and Danielle are living full-time in a converted van. Their back seat folds down into a bed. Their kitchen is a cooler plus camping stove. Their bathroom includes a solar camping shower and a plastic bottle toilet (with funnel).
They’ve eliminated a mortgage, but their are still costs, what Mat calls “like renting a really cheap apartment in a city”. Instead of paying down a house, Mat and Danielle have decided to focus on working less and experiencing more, both by exploring the world and their artistic interests: for Mat, it’s music and art and for Danielle it’s writing.

The african tribe Himba are a matriarchal culture in Namibia. Though they are nomads, their strong culture goes with them wherever they go. The young Himbas observe and absorb their own identity as a people. These girls have the plaits which indicate they are still immature, they are not women yet. But today they have a dream.
The village is celebrating the fact that one of the girls has had her first period, and her plaits have finally been cut off. Not one of these girls, however, but rather an elder sister.
The two girls can hardly wait for the time when they too will wear the decorations signifying womanhood, and everyone will dance in their honour.
The proud mother will continue to work until her younger daughter celebrates that important day. Afterwards, the three will follow the example of their grandmother, who has already churned the milk in so many camps, and knows the importance of cultural identity for a Himba woman.
On the other side of the world, in the Mongolian taiga, the Tsaatan tribe are well aware of the effects forced acculturation can have on people.
They are called “the reindeer people”. Their nomadic, independent life means they constantly move between Russia and Siberia. With the arrival of socialism in the region, the state took their reindeer off them, banned their religion, gave them a salary and appointed a commissary to impose fines for practicing ancient customs. Vets came, and replaced the traditional ways of treating animals. Now, the vets have gone, but the Tsaatan have forgotten their traditional medicine, and so the animals die.
From when they are young, the children must learn the jobs necessary to survive in such a harsh climate. Here more than anywhere their home is their castle.
Inside the tipi, as in the case of the Himba tribe, the youngest absorb the culture through contact with their elders. For humans, the grandparents play an important role: it has been demonstrated that they offer a very different perspective from the parents, and provide the children’s not yet fully-formed brains with examples of serenity and calm.
Often, the man and wife must invest considerable efforts in obtaining the elements necessary for daily survival, such as this cradle of birch, which the father is making for the new member of the clan. For this reason, it is important they all remain together as long as possible. That is the key to human progress - the family.
Cultural defence of the family may also have developed as a way of safeguarding its important biological function, to successfully raise a new generation.
Since the beginning of life in the sea, adaptation has taught animals to establish relationships with other beings.
No one on the planet wants to be forever alone, and all animals surround themselves with more or less complex social structures, to increase the chances of survival.
In addition, these relationships are further complicated by sexual reproduction, which implies the need to form couples and take care of the offspring, and this makes it both more possible and more necessary to develop social intelligence.
The human mind has created relationships even beyond the real world, seeking to communicate with superior beings who can help us explain the thousands of questions posed by our enormous brains.
It is these relationships that have enabled mankind to colonise the entire earth.
Some animals have developed mating strategies in which stable relationships play no part.

Coming to YouTube to see van life videos is pretty stupid when everyone is gossiping about personal drama...it's ridiculous and totally off topic.

They started with overhauling a 1965 Airstream for weekend trips and to more easily travel with their dogs, when partway through the project they realized they were building a HOME, not a CAMPER. At that point they started making changes to their lives and their jobs to support life fulltime on the road. In their first year, they visited 35 states and drove 25,000 miles.
Their second year saw them selling their Airstream and driving a 2015 Trek 26 HMD to Alaska and back.
For the show, they're going to share their experiences with their recent trip to the RVIA 'industry-only' RV show in Louisville, Kentucky and talk about their current Nomadic Life (hint: It's not an Airstream or a Motorhome right now), and their plans for the future.

800 years ago, this man, called Timuyin and better known as Genghis Khan, “The King of the Universe”, managed to create the largest empire ever known in the history of humanity. It all begin in the year 1190 when Genghis Khan managed to bring together the different nomadic tribes of Mongolia in a single, powerful army of 200,000 men. This, and his undoubted military genius, enabled him to conquer vast territories, stretching from the Pacific to the heart of Europe, and from northern Siberia to India, Iran and Turkey.
With the end of the Khan dynasty, a series of civil wars threw the country into confusion, until, in 1578, Buddhism was established as the form of government, under the leadership of Altan Khaan. Two centuries later, Mongolia came under Chinese control, until 1924 when, with the creation of the soviet bloc, the country converted to communism and became a satellite of the USSR. With the arrival of the Russians, Mongolia underwent rapid changes, modernising and industrialising. But with the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989, and the consequent disintegration of the Soviet bloc, the Russians left just as quickly as they had arrived, and overnight Mongolia was completely paralysed, suffering political and economic collapse from which it has still far from recovered. Since then, the city has rapidly deteriorated, and its inhabitants struggle to survive as best they can.
The Gobi is an extreme, arid desert, covering a third of Mongolia. With temperatures of up to 50 degrees centigrade in summer, which generally fall to 40 degrees below zero in winter, life in the Gobi is harsh and difficult. he Tansendarya live in a camp composed of four gers, the traditional shelter perfectly adapted to the needs of nomadic life. For them, the horse represents much more than simply an animal used for transport and carrying goods, which they began to tame 4,000 years before Christ.
Small, fibrous, and incredibly resistant, with strength greatly out of proportion to their size, these horses were key in enabling Genghis Khan to create such a powerful army.
While it is still summer in the lowlands, up in the valleys of the Dorkhod Sayani mountains autumn arrived several weeks ago, suddenly and without warning. This is the home of the Tsaatan, one of the smallest and least well-known tribes in Asia. The life of the Tsaatan has never been easy, but since the arrival of communism, part of their culture, traditions and daily life have been destroyed. The herds of reindeer, which had belonged to them since time immemorial, became state property. The Mongolian government accuses them of sexual relations between cousins, brothers and sisters, and even parents and their children. The Tsaatan, which literally means “the reindeer people”, are an ethnic group originating in Russian Siberia, with their own language whose origin lies in Turkey.
In the Altai range, winter has arrived with even greater force than normal, and at the start of October a thick layer of snow already covers the mountains.
Though we are still in Mongolia, the majority of the people who live in this region are of Kazakh origin. Like the Mongol nomads, they too live in gers, but theirs are considerably bigger and much better decorated. Nothing could be more exciting and enjoyable for a Kazakh from the mountains than to go out hunting with his eagle. These hunters always use female golden eagles, which they consider to be much more aggressive than the males. The Kazakhs use nets to trap eagles when they have just eaten and so are unable to fly. For the first month, they are kept inside the ger, to accustom them to the sounds and smells. Then, for several weeks, they are trained so they maintain their balance on the arm of the rider as he gallops along. Finally, and most difficult of all, they are trained to return to their master after they have been released. From the time they are caught, they always remain close by him, even sleeping at his side.
Today, and because they are isolated by the Altai mountains and the river Hovd, these hunters have been able to preserve their language, their cultural traditions, and their identity as Kazakhs.
And that is the story of three ethnic groups that live in a world of constant movement, struggling to preserve their most valuable treasure, their culture, which, little by little, is being wiped out by a society engaged in a headlong rush towards globalisation.

In February I decided to test life as a digital nomad in Lisbon. I was excited to try out this new and exciting city for the first time.
http://www.1bag1life.com/lisbon-travel-guide-digital-nomads/
After the initial days I was so amazed I decided to stay for a long time. Based on mye experiences I have made a travel guide for digital nomads picking Lisbon as their destination.
I learned a lot about the ways of the city, and wanted to share my knowledge with others. This has resulted in a comprehensive guide to Lisbon on my blog. I talk about everything that a digital nomad needs to know.
In the travel guide I go into detail about several topics:
Accommodation - I tell you where it is good to stay in Lisbon. There are many options for nomads; like hostels, AirBnB and hotels.
Cost of Living - I talk about what you can expect in terms of cost related to everything from food to accommodation and nightlife. It is generally cheap in Lisbon compared to other European capitols.
When to go - To get the most out of your stay you have to go at the right time for you. This depends on which kind of weather and season you prefer.
Nightlife - The amazing nightlife of this city is perfect for digital Nomads. Barrio Alto is a great spot when you are visiting Lisbon.
I made this video to show you guys some of the most beautiful location in this digital nomad paradise. Lisbon has a lot of gorgeous attractions like Belem and the modern parks in town. If you are thinking of going to Portugal for your next trip you can find useful information covering every topic on my blog.

The Taiwan Digital nomad guide is designed for digital nomads or on-line workers that are interested in working and living abroad in Taiwan. I'm a Canadian that visited Taiwan in 2012 for a wedding. I returned in 2013 for a 1 year working holiday and ended up living there for almost 2.5 years. Taiwan is a gem in asia that often gets overlooked for Thailand and Indonesia. There are many benefits to Taiwan like generous tour visas.

Our experiences traveling in Vietnam (favorite places, food, transportation & budget travel tips)

Now that we've settled into our new base in Chiang Mai, Thailand we though it would be a perfect time for us to discuss our most recent experiences traveling in Vietnam; including what was our favorite places/destinations, food, transportation and budget travel tips. As a brief introduction, Vietnam is one of the most under-rated countries in SE Asia for backpackers and/or travelers given what it offers in terms of value. As a country with diverse landscapes, regional uniqueness and mouthwatering cuisine, I'm still surprised more people aren't flocking here.
In terms of our specific journey, we started off in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and ended up covering the Mekong Delta, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Halong Bay, Hanoi and Sapa. If we had more time we wish we could have explored Hanoi longer (we really just used it as a transportation hub) and visited the likes of Dalat and Mui Ne.
Our top three attractions in Vietnam were cruising along Halong Bay on a boat tour, being culture vultures in Hoi An and trekking and visiting hill-tribes in Sapa.
Ha Long Bay scored high on our list given the extreme beauty of the Karst Limestone cliffs we got to witness up close and personal. Staying overnight on a boat and having the opportunity to interact with other travelers - from all walks of life and different ages - proved to be a top highlight; also, we had the opportunity to try kayaking together for the first time along with visiting a cave and several beaches.
Hoi An is a place we could both potentially see ourselves considering strongly as a base in the not too distant future. It had everything we desired in a city including great food, fascinating architecture, local markets worth exploring and countryside & beaches nearby.
Sapa, was otherworldly. We've never had such stunning views from our hotel room before and when we decided to venture off trekking we were treated to scenery even more spectacular than our hotel room views - which blew our minds in the first place. The problem with narrowing things down to just three places/attractions is that you leave out a lot of things you really enjoyed.
Our preferred method of transportation was taking the train (even though buses were cheaper) given it was the most comfortable journey. If you do take the buses, especially the overnight ones, be prepared for plenty of swerving, honking and random jolts. Even though we were able to sleep through most of the night, it was not restful sleep by any means. A few times, we awoke feeling as though we were going off of a cliff; not terribly pleasant to say the least. If we had to do it over again, we'd have done the entire journey by train.
In terms of accommodations we found that we were able to find excellent value around the $17-20 range and when we splurged at $30 we were getting boutique value. In Malaysia (and even Cambodia to a certain extent), we were scrimping and not willing to pay a bit extra for comfort. In Vietnam, we changed our strategy and - in turn - were rewarded with more comfortable beds, air conditioning and reliable wifi; it was certainly money well spent.
Overall, Vietnam was our favorite country in SE Asia that we explored over the past three months and we HIGHLY recommend it to others whether you're vacationers, travelers, backpackers or digital nomads:

I can’t deny it; it’s an incredible lifestyle that I’m so happy I’m able to try. To be honest, being a nomad isn’t for everyone. It’s forced me to be flexible and patient in certain situations, like not freaking out when the Internet isn’t working. You experience situations that are way out of your comfort zone and you have to be willing to deal with them. For example, I was in Cambodia and had to spend three days with no electricity or AC when it was 40 degrees Celsius. You have to be able to let go of comforts we’re used to having back home and make it work. The best way to see if being a nomad is a good fit for you is to practice traveling solo first.
If you want to try and weight out if the digital nomad lifestyle is for you, watch this video to get started!

My Packing list for Southeast Asia - Travel tips
This is what I plan to bring for a 6 month nomadic adventure to southeast Asia using only a 50L backpack.
After many years of nomadic backpacking, I think I finally have found a travel packing list that I'm very comfortable with. Now, this is my own personal list, the things that I chose to bring with me. I do understand that you may have different needs, and travel somewhat differently than I, so I would encourage you to take this travel packing list and adapt it to your personal style, to create your own unique nomad adventure for your Southeast Asia travel.
Though eating is my biggest passion in life, it goes together with my passion to travel. I love to travel, and ever since I was a child I grew up in a family that lived overseas. After graduating from University, I decided to travel the world on my own and experience as much as I could. When I first began solo backpacking I lugged around a pretty good size backpack - I think it was a 36 liter or something like that. I formerly carried about 6 sets of clothing, a few pairs of shoes, 5 books, all sorts of gadgets I never really needed or used, and a bunch of other unnecessary list of things.
I also noticed that other backpackers had other humongous backpacks that they carried with them everywhere they went (and it looked painful). Too many clothes and too many toiletries, were a few of the things I noticed very commonly as I backpacked around Southeast Asia.
But the more I traveled, the more I realized the benefits of being able to travel light - that is carrying only the necessary things and being mindful that nearly everything you could need is available at your destination. Not only is much more convenient and easier to get around, it also saves your back! For this travel packing list, it wouldn't really matter if I'm going on a trip for 1 week or 3 months, the list would be the same.
So here is my travel packing list (following the video):
2 pairs of socks, 3 pairs of underwear, 1 pair of lightweight shorts, 1 cargo shorts, 2 extra t-shirts, towel, light fleece jacket (depending on where you're going of course), wind pants, flip flops, scarf (for warmth or sun), leatherman tool, sunglasses, lock, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, floss, sunscreen, toenail clippers, tylenol, 1 book, Bible, external hard drive, battery charges, small cell phone, universal adapter, laptop (I would only recommend if you need it), pens, notebook, wallet, credit cards, passport, passport photos, Canon DSLR camera, lens, Rode video mic, tripod.
Also the clothes I'm wearing: 1 t-shirt, 1 pair of jeans, underwear, pair of shoes, socks
Lowepro Passport Sling Camera Bag - I really love this camera bag!
The North Face Big Shot Daypack - Great backpack, perfect size. Alternatively I use an North Face 55l Backpack .
