Frequently asked questions:
Q: What is your job?
A: I work as an interpreter of English, Slovak and Mandarin Chinese.
Q: What was the most difficult language you've ever studied?
A: Mandarin Chinese.
Q: How old are you?
A: 33.
Q: Which language do you like most?
A: Difficult to say, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be: Hungarian, Russian, Cantonese and Persian.
Q: Which language do you dream in/think in?
A: I don't even know. Probably those that I use most often: Slovak, English, Mandarin.
Q: When did you start learning foreign languages?/How long did it take you to learn all the languages you speak?
A: I don't think there was a starting moment in my life. I grew up with 2-3 native languages and spoke 5 at an almost native level by the time I was 13 and just continued learning languages here and there as I grew up. As for how long it took me, it took me my entire life.
Q: Could you give me some tips to learn language XYZ?
A: Sure. I have a blog where I wrote probably everything I think about language learning (http://www.foreverastudent.com). Feel free to check it out. I could write here too but I would only be repeating myself. I also made a lot of videos about language learning on this channel.
Q: How long does it take you to learn a new language?
A: It depends on the language. Also it is difficult to tell what it means to 'learn a language'. To get to a C1 level in Russian it took me about 3 months, to do the same thing in Chinese about 7-8 years.
Q: How should I start learning a language?
A: https://youtu.be/l0aGvTQp9FY
Q: What is your secret?
A: There is no secret, only passion, lots of time spent on practice, good conditions and a bit of talent.
Q: Where are you from?
A: I was born and lived most of my life in Slovakia.
Q: You made a mistake in the French part. It shouldn't be 'ce video' it should be 'cette video'.
A: Thank you, I'll remember.
Q: You made a mistake in the Serbian part. It should't be 'kuči' but 'kući'.
A: Thank you. I realized it the moment I said it.
Q: The Spanish part was too short.
A: I know. I'll make a video where I speak only Spanish next time.
Q: You don't speak Portuguese, you speak Brazillian. Why did you learn that ugly Brazillian Portuguese and not the real Portuguese from Portugal?
A: I must've gotten about 100 comments like this and worse. I honestly don't understand why all the hate against Brazillian Portuguese from Portugal. I just felt silly writing 'Brazillian' instead of 'Portuguese' especially since as far as I know the official language of Brazil is called Portuguese, not Brazillian. It's like saying I speak 'American' instead of 'English'. But, lesson learned, next time I will proudly say I learned 'Brazillian Portuguese'. I learned Brazillian Portuguese because: I love its sound, wonderful Brazillian smiling people, the country, the music, the nature and because I'd like to live there one day.
Q: You didn't learn Greek! You should be ashamed of yourself.
A: I got about 50 similar comments. I have no intelligent answer for this. People help me out:)
Q: Why didn't you learn Arabic? Armenian? Hindi? Indonesian? European Portuguese? Greek?... I'm dissapointed.
A: I never had a good reason or interest.
Q: Were you ever interested in learning
Scandinavian languages?
A: Originally no, because I never had a chance or good reasons to learn them, plus it's too cold for me up there, but recently I read a book by Stieg Larsson and got a bit interested, so maybe I will.
Q: Great Chinese but you speak with a Taiwanese accent.
A: I lived in Taiwan for 5 years. I don't know how to speak in any other way.
Q: The use of the word 'geil' in the German part was inappropriate/wrong/off.
A: It was a bit off, you're right. I learned German when I was a teenager and didn't use it since. I said the word without thinking too much. It's definitely not that I used it on purpose to sound cool.

Learning the local language during your international assignment may take time but always pays off in the end. Romanian, the official language in Romania, is a Romance language, which belongs to the family of Latin languages. You will find a lot of words and grammar similar to Italian, French, Portuguese and Spanish. This makes it easier to learn for people with previous romance-language experience. Nouns in Romanian are characterized by gender (feminine, masculine, and neuter), and declined by number and case. The Romanian language is a phonetic one which makes it easier for foreigners to learn it quickly.

This is a brief history of the Romanian language, a Romance language which evolved after the Romanization of the Thracians (mostly Dacians) from modern day Romania and its surrounding territories. The words of Latin origin in modern day Romanian are about 75-80% of the vocabulary, and they are followed in number by those of Slavic origin, some of which were introduced because the Orthodox countries used Old Church Slavonic as their "lingua franca" during some centuries. In this video, I have analysed the etymology of the words in The Lord's Prayer and I have also made some comments on how the Orthodox Church has kept all the teachings of Christ and His apostles, all the sacraments and dogmas.
A Tatălui şi-a Fiului şi-a Sfântului Duh,
Acum şi pururea şi în vecii vecilor.
Amin.

The Romanian word "HĂU" means "ABYSS". The word "HĂU" is root for the words (Greek) "kHAOs" and (English) "cHAOs"
The English word "SCIENCE" evolved from the Romanian root word "STI" (English:"TO KNOW" )
The English verb "HAVE" evolved from the Romanian verb "AVEA"
The English word "VIRUS" and the Latin word "VIRUM" evolved from the Romanian word "VÎR" which means "TO INTRODUCE A FOREIGN OBJECT"
The Latin word "SPIRITUS" evolved from the Romanian word "SPIRIDUŞ" (Eng: "SUPERNATURAL BEING")
The English word "PHARMACY" comes from the Romanian word "FARMECE" (Eng: "CHARMS", "SPELLS")
The English word "PERISH" comes from the Romanian word "PIERI"
The English word "COMPREHEND" and the Latin word "COMPREHENDO" evolved from the Romanian original word: "CUPRIND"
The English word "HIDEOUS" has the Romanian root "HÂD" spelled "HÎD" in old Romanian, an adjective which means "EXTREMELY UGLY AND TERRIFYING"
The word "CIRCUIT" evolved from the Romanian word "(in)CERCUIT" (Eng: "SURROUNDED")
The word "MACHINE" evolved from the Romanian word "MACINA" (Eng: "to GRIND")
The word "ROBOT" evolved from the Romanian word "ROB" (Eng: "SLAVE", "WORKER")
The English word "LOVE" is derived from Romanian verb "LOVI", a verb defined by the dictionary as "TO HIT STRAIGHT INTO A TARGET WITH AN ARROW"/"TO RESEMBLE"/"TO FIT TOGETHER"/ ...
And, as shown in the video, the words "MAN" and "WOMAN" have the word "LUMINA" (LIGHT) as their root
The information in the video is a linguistic study of the "R" ("ROOT") language (the very first language of the world). It contains a detailed observation on the "UMIN" ("PEOPLE") linguistic conceptual group.
The old Romanian word "UMIN" (Eng: "PEOPLE") - from the document Neacsu's letter (1521) - is found in English words such as:
"MINe", "subliMINal", "hUMIliated",
"MINd", "MINiature", "reMINisce", "feMINine",
"colUMN", "INtelligent", "INformation",
"vitaMIN", "terMINate", "aboMINation", "criMINal",
"MeaNing", "hUMAN"
The Romanian language has the word MAN ("umin", "om", "oameni") as root in several conceptually related words:
"eU" (Eng: "I"), "MINe" (Eng: "ME"), "însUMI" (Eng: "MYSELF"), "înseaMNa" (Eng: "MeaNs"), "MINte" (Eng: "MIND"), "MÎNdrie" (Eng: "PRIDE"), "(a) nUMI" (Eng: "TO NAME"), "păMÎNt" (Eng: "EARTH"), "MÎNcare" (Eng: "FOOD"), "seMINţie" (Eng: "SEED"), "MINune" (Eng: "MIRACLE"), "rugaMINte" (Eng: "PRAYER"), "MÎNie" (Eng: "ANGER"), "ÎNtelege" (Eng: "UNDERSTAND"), "MINciuna" (Eng: "LIE"), "(a) MÎNgîia" (Eng: "(TO) CARESS"), "seMANa" (Eng: "TO SOW"), "MANânca" (Eng: "EAT"), "aMANunt" (Eng: "DETAIL"), "dusMAN" (Eng: "ENEMY"), "aseaMANa" (Eng: "RESEMBLE"), "niMENi, niMANui" (Eng: "NOBODY"), "MENire" (Eng: "FATE"), "diaMANt" (Eng: "DIAMOND"), "roMÎN/roMAN" (Eng: "ROMANIAN"), "diMINeata" (Eng: "MORNING"), "INvidia" (Eng: "ENVY"), "multUMI" (Eng: "TO THANK"), "aMINti" (Eng: "TO REMEMBER"), "cUMINte" (Eng: "SMART"), "dUMINica" (Eng: "SUNDAY"), "saptaMÎNa" (Eng: "WEEK"), "dUMNezeu" (Eng: "GOD")
Because the (U)MIN/MAN conceptual group in Romanian has many more words with similar forms than in any other language and due to the other considerations discussed in the video, Romanian is the original language, the language from which both Latin and Greek languages evolved.

A short Romanian language course featuring the most common-use phrases of the language and their pronunciation. Thanks all Youtubers and my mom for the help and suggestions/corrections in making this possible. Romanian language has changed a little in the last few decades; words like "sunt" have been re-introduced as grammatically correct even though they belong to the older version of Romanian. During the communist era, "sunt" would be viewed as vulgar. I encounter some difficulty pronouncing such words as I am not used to their pronunciation...thank God there aren't too many such cases.
Anyway, the purpose of these videos is that of attracting more tourists from various countries in order to really understand what a beautiful country the last star of the European Union is!!
Suggestions are always welcome!
Cheers
