Torah vs Halakha Part 2
What is Torah? We often think that the oral traditions of Jewish tradition constitute the Torah that was given to the Prophet Moshe at Mt. Sinai. This series gives clarity on what is Torah and what is tradition.

Torah vs Halakha Part 8
What is a lie? Torah tells us not to bear false witness agains your nieghbor which speaks to the issue of "L'shanharrah" or the evil tongue. This is part eight in the series Torah vs Halakha.

Torah vs Halakha Part 11
How does The Most High view murder? As we walk through the Torah in this series Torah vs Halakha we are discovering through the language how different our thoughts are from thoughts of Yahweh.

Torah vs Halakha part 12
Who is Israel? Does natural bloodline really matter? When we look at the house of Israel we see all through Scriptural the 'salting' of Israel throughout the nations of the world. Is this part of the promise of Abraham?

Torah vs Halakha Yom Teruah
What is the day that no mans knows the day or the hour? Yahshuah speaks of this day in Matthew 4:4 and Luke 4:4 and refers to the day spoken of in Leviticus 23:24. The Day of the great shoutings when all of Israel stood at the foot of Mt. Sinai in Exodus 19 they went into covenant with The Most High; there was a great cry and sound of a rams horn and Moshe spoke and Yahweh answered.

Does halakha permit women to wear pants, or is this a breach of tseniut?
What constitutes proper modest dress? The real issue isn't about pants, but about whether the particular pants violate proper standards of modesty.

A religion is a systematic set of beliefs, rituals and codifications of behaviour that revolves around a particular group's worldview (views about the world at large and humanity's place in the world). Typically, these beliefs center around some aspect of the supernatural (also often referred to as "divine") which is most often expressed as some form of deity, ie., gods and goddesses.
To the extent that the system of beliefs and rules are codified, they are called dogma; religions vary in how much dogma they include and how strictly they define it and enforce it. Religious mythology are the stories that develop, largely from oral tradition, to explain and describe the worldview of the religion. Religious beliefs tend to arise from humanity's attempts to explain their world, and where possible, to control it.

In the The Principles of Jewish Law Orthodox rabbi Menachem Elon writes that:
The Principles of Jewish Law
— [such a view] "inherently violates the precept of Hilkheta Ke-Vatra'ei, that is, the law is according to the later scholars. This rule dates from the Geonic period. It laid down that until the time of Rabbis Abbaye and Rava (4th century) the Halakha was to be decided according to the views of the earlier scholars, but from that time onward, the halakhic opinions of post-talmudic scholars would prevail over the contrary opinions of a previous generation. What "Prophecy?"
Prophecy is speaking for God or for the gods (pro- meaning for), sometimes involving predicting the future (pro- meaning before in time), often using "impending doom" and "fires of destruction" and "destruction of the world" as the culminating theme. Prophecies are usually reserved for important figures like kings and leaders and of course generally predict the downfall of bad rulers and the eventual return of "all that is Good and True" if and only if the "people" follow the right "path".

Prophecy is often a result of the prophet's dreams, altered states, or high levels of stress in their life.

What is a Posek?
Since the days of the Sanhedrin, no body or authority has been generally regarded as having the authority to create universally recognized precedents. As a result, Halakha has developed in a somewhat different fashion from Anglo-American legal systems with a Supreme Court able to provide universally accepted precedents. Generally, Halakhic arguments are effectively, yet unofficially, peer-reviewed. When a rabbinic posek ((literally "he who makes a statement", "decisor") proposes an additional interpretation of a law, that interpretation may be considered binding for the posek's questioner or immediate community. Depending on the stature of the posek and the quality of the decision, an interpretation may also be gradually accepted by other rabbis and members of other Jewish communities.

Talking in the Restroom
There are halachos concerning the permissibility
of speaking while in a restroom, due to halachic
reasons associated with modesty and kabbalistic
ones associated with the spirits of impurity that
are present there. Before a person begins relieving
themselves, if there is a pressing need, they may
,talk to a person outside the restroom. However
once a person has begun relieving themselves they
.should not speak at all, even for a pressing need
If necessary, they may cough or make some other
sound in order to indicate that they cannot talk just
now. If a person is in the restroom for a different
purpose, such as brushing their teeth or any other
such function, one may be lenient and if there is an
.important matter that to be discussed at that time
Text was prepared by E.R. Elkaim
Rabbi Abraham Ben Meir Ibn Ezra (אברהם אבן עזרא (1089–1167)
There is a legend that he died in England from a fever and a sickness that came upon him after an encounter with a pack of wild black dogs. This legend is attached to the belief that he denied the existence of demons.
The crater Abenezra on the Moon was named in his honor.
Do Ghosts Exist?
Demonology is the general term for the "study" of demons in any religion. Demons, in the broadest sense, are simply supernatural creatures or beings that are not worshiped. Jinns, for example, would be a subject of Islamic demonology; they can be good or evil. In Western culture, and especially Christianity, the word demon usually connotes evil. Demonologists are theologians who specialize in making stuff up studying demons.
Most cultures posit some form of invisible spirits which may or may not be benevolent, but which generally all share the same characteristic of being an invisible friend or foe, that's not quite a deity, but not quite mundane.
