Anyone with $1,000 can run for President of the United States in the historic New Hampshire Primary, as Vermin Supreme--and hundreds of other lesser know candidates over the years--demonstrates.
My name is Vermin Supreme, I’m running for President of America. In 2012 I received approximately 833 votes on the Democratic (ballot). It put me in third place just right behind Barack Obama and some other guy.
In New Hampshire, it takes a thousand large, a 1,000 bucks will get you on the ballot here. That’s all. That’s why I’m on the ballot, that’s why 40 other people are on the ballot, because it’s the most accessible ballot in the United States.
I stand for four basic things. They are as follows:
Free ponies of all Americans.
Story-Crafters: What is the economic implications for your free pony platform?
Vermin Supreme: It’s a little Keynesian I’ll admit. For the amount of money that spent for any government program, pretty much every American can have their own pony. Their own free pony health care.
Story-Crafters: So basically you believe in giving people a free ride.
Vermin Supreme: Well not a free…well yes, I guess the pony…they would ride the pony, I guess you could put it in that fashion.
Oh, that was a gotcha question.
Mandatory tooth brushing sir. It’s not about the secret dental police kicking down your door at 3am to make sure you and your family brush. It’s about strong teeth for a strong America.
Story-Crafters: But what about the slippery slope argument?
Vermin Supreme: Of course, tooth paste, spit, you have to watch where you spit, otherwise you slip.
Story-Crafters: No, flossing.
Vermin Supreme: Flossing. It will pass the House, never pass the Senate. I’m sorry, it just the way things are. Political reality.
Zombie preparedness.
Time travel research. Fully funding time travel research. Every government needs a boondoggle and that will be mine.
Story-Crafters: Time travel, first in the past?
Vermin Supreme: In the future, to the past and back again.
Story-Crafters: That sounded a little wishy-washy. The future, the past; it sounds like you just want to give people what they want to hear?
Vermin Supreme: This interview is over. I’ve had enough. I’ve had enough of you and the media and your whiny ass questions and your nitpicking and trying to nail me down and ask me questions that I don’t know the questions to, or could care less. I refuse to cooperate with my own stupidity.

A Short Bio on Rand Paul
Senator Rand Paul, M.D. is one of the nation’s leading advocates for liberty. Elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010, Dr. Paul has proven to be an outspoken champion for constitutional liberties and fiscal responsibility. As a fierce advocate against government overreach, Rand has fought tirelessly to return government to its limited, constitutional scope.
A devoted husband and father, Dr. Paul and his family live in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where Rand owned his own ophthalmology practice and performed eye surgery for 18 years. As a hard-working and dedicated physician--not a career politician--Rand Paul came to Washington to shake things up and to make a difference.
Dr. Paul has been married for 24 years to Kelley Ashby Paul of Russellville, Kentucky, and together, they have three sons: William, 21; Duncan, 18; and Robert, 15. He regularly volunteered to coach teams for each of his three sons in Little League baseball, soccer, and basketball. Rand and Kelley are both devout Christians and are active in their local church.
Rand is the third of five children born to Carol and Ron Paul. He grew up in Lake Jackson, Texas and attended Baylor University. He graduated from Duke Medical School in 1988. Dr. Paul completed a general surgery internship at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta and completed his residency in ophthalmology at Duke University Medical Center. Upon completion of his training in 1993, Rand and Kelley moved to Bowling Green to start their family and begin his ophthalmology practice.
In 1995, Rand founded the Southern Kentucky Lions Eye Clinic, an organization that provides eye exams and surgery to needy families and individuals. Rand is a former president and 17 year member of Lions Clubs International, which is dedicated to preserving sight by providing eyeglasses and surgery to the less fortunate around the world. In recognition of his outstanding and sustained efforts to provide vision care to Kentuckians in need, Lions Clubs International has awarded Rand many of its highest commendations.
A large part of Rand's daily work as an ophthalmologist was dedicated to preserving the vision of our seniors. In 2002, The Twilight Wish Foundation recognized Rand for Outstanding Service and Commitment to Seniors.
During his free time, Dr. Paul performs pro-bono eye surgeries for patients across Kentucky. Additionally, he provides free eye surgery to children from around the world through his participation in the Children of the Americas Program. Most recently, he traveled to Guatemala on a medical mission trip with the University of Utah's Moran Eye Center. During the week over 200 patients, many of them blind with cataracts, had their vision restored by Dr. Paul.
Dr. Paul's entrance into politics is indicative of his life’s work as a surgeon: a desire to diagnose problems and provide practical solutions, whether it be in Bowling Green, Kentucky or Washington, D.C.
Randal Howard "Rand" Paul (born January 7, 1963) is an American physician and politician from Kentucky. In office since 2011, Paul currently serves in the United States Senate as a member of the Republican Party. He is also a trained ophthalmologist, and is the middle son of former U.S. Representative and physician Ron Paul of Texas.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Paul attended Baylor University and is a graduate of the Duke University School of Medicine. Paul began practicing ophthalmology in 1993 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and established his own clinic in December 2007.
Paul has been considered a supporter of the Tea Party movement, and a vocal critic of the Federal Reserve System. He has opposed NSA mass surveillance of Americans and supports reduced government spending and taxation. He describes himself as "100% pro-life" and has cosponsored legislation for equal protection of the right to life from conception. Paul officially announced his candidacy for the 2016 U.S. presidential election on April 7, 2015.

While waiting in line for a Donald Trump event in Claremont, NH, Deborah Allan of Grantham, NH told TYT's Jordan Chariton that President Obama is not an American, but that she does not agree with his offensive rhetoric re. Muslims and Latinos. She says she is voting for Trump for the New Hampshire primary, but that if Trump does not calm his rhetoric, she may not support him in the general election.
At one point the interview was interrupted by another woman who doubts the President's citizenship, and, believes he is working with the Islamic State (ISIS) to bring about a "new world order."
The interview was conducted in frigid temperatures as thousands of people waited to get into Stevens High School.

Despite the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary only weeks away, the Republican nomination still appears to be up for grabs.
GOP front-runner Donald Trump, who has maintained a stronghold on first place in the polls, saw an 11% drop in his odds for winning the GOP nomination in CNN's Political Prediction Market. Trump's slide corresponded with a rise in winning odds for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.
CNN's Political Prediction Market, administered by a company called Pivit, is game that factors polls and other elements and invites users to predict where the election will go. The markets change as the public weighs in on the increasing or decreasing chance that a candidate or party wins or loses an election. It should not be confused as a survey from real voters.
Riding the coattails of first place odds is Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who is also neck-and-neck with Trump in the polls.
The odds for the Republicans winning the presidency also seem to be slipping. The odds for a Democratic presidency are currently at 59%, while Republicans' chances of winning are 41%.

Welcome to the Investors Trading Academy event of the week. Each week our staff of analysts and educators tries to provide you a better understanding of a major market event scheduled soon and that have an effect on the global markets. It’s been a year of political satire and name calling as Donald Trump added flavor and theatrics to the Presidential nominations and debates. Slowly the fields will begin to narrow as each party has to anoint their leader.
The 2016 presidential nomination process is still in the invisible primary stage. On the Republican side, the field of candidates is not set, we don’t yet know how much money candidates have raised or can raise, there are no endorsements of real significance of which to speak, and polling doesn’t really tell us much at this point.
After the 1968 election, the McGovern-Fraser Commission ushered in the modern presidential nomination process by removing the nominating decision from the smoke-filled rooms of the parties’ conventions. The Commission sought to make the results of primaries and caucuses — and thus the votes of the rank-and-file party voters — more decisive.
To accomplish that, the Commission created a direct link between the votes cast in primaries and caucuses and the delegates selected to attend the national convention. The results of the primaries and caucuses therefore bind convention delegates to particular candidates. At the convention, there is a roll call vote that formally nominates a presidential candidate.
If states abide by the rules that the national parties have set for 2016, the four so-called carve-out states — Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina — will all hold their respective primaries and caucuses in February.
Roughly, the expected calendar for Republicans is:
February 1: Iowa | February 9: New Hampshire | February 20: South Carolina | February 23: Nevada.
And for Democrats:
February 1: Iowa | February 9: New Hampshire | February 23: Nevada | February 27: South Carolina.
Why do Iowa and New Hampshire get to go first? The easiest answer is that Iowa and New Hampshire go first because it’s tradition. The New Hampshire primary dates back to the Progressive era a century ago, when presidential nominations were not directly based on the results of primaries. When the nomination system changed after 1968, New Hampshire proactively began to adapt to safeguard the position of its presidential primary at the beginning of the queue.
The Iowa caucus goes first by accident, not by design. Due to the primary reforms after 1968, Iowa Democrats had to change their delegate selection and allocation process.
There will be primaries and caucuses from February to early June 2016. But the nominees will likely be known well before the primaries are over.

With primary contests in Iowa and New Hampshire now just a month away, ex-president Bill Clinton recently returned to the state that started him on his path to the White House in 1992 hoping to help Hillary Clinton win the New Hampshire primary. More than 720 people packed into a gym at Nashua Community College for Bill Clinton's first solo appearance for his wife's campaign. Speaking softly but affectionately in a brief speech, the former president described the work Hillary Clinton did 40 years ago when the couple graduated from Yale Law, saying she opted to forgo high paying and prestigious jobs at a law firm in order to work at the Children's Defense Fund. He also praised his wife's experience in the Senate and as secretary of state, and calling her the candidate best fit to lead "an uncertain world."

The battle for the White House that has entertained, outraged and baffled Americans for the past year is about to get real.
With the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary quickly approaching, a presidential race that has largely unfolded on television screens, debate stages, packed rallies and a slew of polls is now shifting into a serious test of political endurance.
"There is a very good possibility that the Republican primary will be decided by the end of March," Sen. Ted Cruz said during a New Year's Eve conference call, putting supporters of his fast-rising campaign on notice for a "90-day sprint to get the job done.",+Politics ( TV Genre),+baffled Americans, +caucuses, +White House, +presidential race,What you need to know as the 2016 primary sprint begins -

On Tuesday, Marco Rubio attempted to frame himself as the only Republican presidential candidate capable of confronting America's national security challenges. In a speech, Rubio called out his primary opponents as "isolationists…more passionate about weakening our military and intelligence capabilities than about destroying our enemies." His speech at the American Legion in Hooksett, New Hampshire warned, "Words and political stunts cannot ensure our security. ISIS cannot be filibustered." With just five weeks to the New Hampshire primary and a month to the Iowa caucus, Rubio tried to make the GOP primary contest solely about national security grounds, pitching himself as the only truly capable candidate in that arena.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio tore into two of his fellow senators and presidential primary rivals in New Hampshire on Monday, decrying "isolationist candidates" who he said appear to be "more passionate about weakening our military and intelligence capabilities than about destroying our enemies." Though he mentioned none of them by name, Rubio sprinkled in references to the past actions and positions of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, Donald Trump and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. "Words and political stunts cannot ensure our security. ISIS cannot be filibustered," Rubio told the Hooksett, New Hampshire, audience at a local American Legion chapter, an apparent slight at both Cruz and Paul. He also called Obama's post-San Bernardino speech "despicable" and denounced former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as "incompetent" and a "liar" on the Democratic side. In his own party, Rubio said, invoking the name of former President Ronald Reagan, other candidates would rather have Syrian President Bashar Assad and Vladimir Putin as allies, "who have voted with Barack Obama and Harry Reid rather than with our men and women in uniform." "While some claim they would destroy ISIS, that they would make the sands of the Middle East 'glow in the dark,' my question is: with what? Because they certainly can’t do it with the oldest and smallest Air Force in the history of this country, or with the smallest Army we’ve had since World War II, or with the smallest and oldest Navy we’ve had since 1915," he continued, referring to Cruz's pledge in December to "find out" if sand could glow in the dark from repeated airstrikes on Islamic State targets, reiterating that his fellow candidates' supported cuts would lead to such a scenario. Rubio also vowed to restore and strengthen the intelligence programs that Congress allowed to expire last year, remarking upon the "sophisticated encryption" that ISIL uses to communicate. "It was already difficult to infiltrate them, now it is even harder," he said, according to his prepared remarks. "If ISIS had lobbyists in Washington, they would have spent millions to support the anti-Intelligence law that was just passed with the help of some Republicans now running for president." Cruz voted to curb those surveillance powers.
President Barack Obama “needs to stop focusing on what he’s constitutionally forbidden to do, which is interfering with our Second Amendment rights, and he needs to start focusing on what he’s constitutionally required to do, which is protecting our people as commander-in-chief,” Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio says in Hooksett, New Hampshire. President’s executive actions on guns would harm law-abiding citizens, wouldn’t impact criminals or terrorists, Rubio says
Obama “has not even attempted to point to a single mass shooting these actions would have prevented, because there isn’t one,” Rubio says
Rubio says as president, he would treat Americans who betray country like enemy combatants “if you have actionable information and refuse to cooperate”
