ABOUT HILLARY CLINTON
Hillary Clinton has served as Secretary of State, Senator from New York, First Lady of the United States, First Lady of Arkansas, a practicing lawyer and law professor, activist, and volunteer, but the first things her friends and family will tell you is that she’s never forgotten where she came from or who she’s been fighting for throughout her life. Hillary was raised in a suburb of Illinois where she attended public school and was raised a Methodist by her parents. She attended Wellesley College, and went on to study law at Yale. After attending Yale Law School, she went to work for the Children’s Defense Fund, going door to door in New Bedford, Massachusetts. After serving as a lawyer for the Congressional Committee investigating President Nixon, she moved to Arkansas where she taught law and ran legal clinics representing poor people. She co-founded Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, one of the state’s first child advocacy groups. As First Lady under President Bill Clinton, Hillary tenaciously led the fight to reform our health care system so that all our families have access to the care they need at affordable prices. Hillary led the U.S. delegation to Beijing to attend the UN Fourth World Conference on Women and gave a groundbreaking speech, declaring that “human rights are women's rights and women's rights are human rights once and for all”—inspiring women worldwide and helping to galvanize a global movement for women’s rights and opportunities. Hillary was then elected to the U.S. Senate, becoming the first woman senator from New York. She repeatedly worked across the aisle to get things done, including working alongside Republicans after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. When Congress wouldn't do enough for rural areas and small towns, Hillary didn’t back down. She launched innovative partnerships with the tech industry and provided support to local colleges and small businesses. When President Obama asked Hillary to serve as his secretary of state, she answered the call to public service once again. She was a forceful champion for human rights, internet freedom, and rights and opportunities for women and girls, LGBT people and young people all around the globe. Now she’s running for President because everyday Americans need a champion and she wants to be that champion.

4. Dis Netanyahu for accepting Congress's invitation to address them in the House of Representatives;
4. Support President Barack Hussein Obama's surrender to Iran and draw a ridiculous lesson from 1979 as to the unexpected collapse of the Soviet Union in 1989;
5. Praise his wife as honorable and capable (she's the opposite of both);
6. Frame the ascendance of Trump (and to a lesser extent Carson, Fiorina, and Cruz) as built on "resentment"; then subsequently admits he has no idea why the phenomena among grassroots conservatives and Republicans is occurring;.
Bill Clinton's supporters love how convincingly and effortlessly he lies. Kudos to the well-placed Clinton Global Initiative branding behind Clinton's left shoulder.

Hillary Clinton wants to make something very clear about her and Donald Trump: "We were not friends."
"We knew each other, obviously, in New York," she told People magazine in an interview released on Wednesday. "I knew a lot of people."
With daughter Chelsea by her side, the former secretary of state dismissed Trump's recent comments about her husband's infidelity. Trump has said that former President Bill Clinton is "one of the great abusers" of women.
Clinton shrugged off Trump's comments as "politics," though not "the brand I approve of."
Despite what Clinton and Trump say now, their relationship has seen better days.
In a 2012 interview with Fox, he called Clinton a "terrific woman."
"I really like her and her husband both a lot. I think she really works hard," Trump had said.
And the Clintons attended the real estate mogul's 2005 wedding, though Trump has subsequently dismissed the invitation as a business gesture.
"When I needed Hillary, she was there," he said in July. "If I say, 'go to my wedding,' they go to my wedding."
Chelsea Clinton said the recent back-and-forth -- which was set off in earnest when her mother told the Des Moines Register in December that Trump "demonstrated a penchant for sexism" -- has not affected her friendship with Ivanka Trump, Donald's eldest daughter.
"I've never had a relationship with Mr. Trump. My relationship has always been with Ivanka," Chelsea Clinton said. "And I would never hold anyone accountable for what anyone else in their family said."

Following a tight victory in Iowa, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton rallies supporters in New Hampshire ahead of next week's primary.
Hillary braces for DEFEAT in New Hampshire as she admits she is behind in the polls and Vermont Bernie is loved by his neighbors
Clinton said she was 'aiming' for a win in the Granite State but couched it in the New Hampshire's tendency to vote for politicians from nearby states
'I know that they tend to favor their neighbors. That's the pattern, the history of the primary. And Senator Sanders is a neighbor,' she said
Bill Clinton did his part to pave the way for a possible loss too: 'They never voted against anybody from next door except when an incumbent president asked them to do something else'
A day after her near loss in the first nomination contest of 2016 Hillary Clinton began suggesting that she could come in second in a second state, New Hampshire, behind Bernie Sanders.
Clinton told CNN she was 'aiming' for a win in the Granite State but couched it in New Hampshire's tendency to vote for politicians from nearby states.
'I know that they tend to favor their neighbors. That's the pattern, the history of the primary. And Senator Sanders is a neighbor,' she told Wolf Blitzer today.
She also told her supporters in a fundraising email that Sanders has the 'home field advantage' in the New England state and asked them to pitch in money to help her defeat him.
'We've got a real fight on our hands, and we're all going to need to pitch in to win this nomination,'she said. 'We face an uphill battle in New Hampshire.'
Bill Clinton did his part on Monday in Iowa to pave the way for a possible loss in the first primary state, too.
'They never voted against anybody from next door except when an incumbent president asked them to do something else,' he told reporters during a visit to his wife's campaign headquarters in Ankeny, Iowa.
'They never voted against anybody from next door except when an incumbent president asked them to do something else,' he told reporters during a visit to his wife's campaign headquarters in Ankeny, Iowa.
In 2004 then-Massachusetts Senator John Kerry claimed the prize in New Hampshire in a landslide primary election. His predecessor Paul Tsongas also won the state when he ran for president in 1992, beating out Bill Clinton.
Four years before that Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis was the victor.
Clinton eeked out a win against Sanders in Iowa yesterday.even though he turned out many of the young voters his campaign had specifically targeted. He beat her by an astounding 70 points those aged 17-29.
She ended the night with 700.59 state delegate equivalents to Sanders' 696.82 and Martin O'Malley's 7.61, according to the Iowa Democratic Party.
Votes were still be counted in the wee hours of the morning. The Clinton campaign determined before the results were final that Sanders couldn't close the gap, though, and the former first lady gave her victory speech any way.
At another party across town Sanders pushed back on Clinton's spin and called it a 'virtual tie' as he trailed her by less than one percent and they ended up nearly the same number of delegates.
Both candidates dashed off to New Hampshire ahead of a pending snow storm immediately after speaking and spent the day making their case to a new group of voters - and getting into another tit-for-tat over whether they'll show up at a newly created debate on Thursday.
The Clinton and Sanders camps said they'd participate but kept throwing flags on the play and now it's uncertain whether it will even take place.
'We've tried to be very accommodating but, you know, we have agreed with everything that they have asked us to do,' Clinton said today on CNN.
'And I sure hope -- we're in Bernie Sanders' backyard here in New Hampshire. I sure hope he intends to show up in his neighboring state and let the people of New Hampshire see us both on the debate stage.'
The Sanders campaign wants Clinton agree to a debate in Brooklyn, New York, before it gives the green light to the last-minute, Democratic Party approved, debate that it asked for in the first place.
'We are incredibly disappointed that Secretary Clinton refuses to do a debate in New York City. Why does the Clinton campaign object to a debate in New York City? Wasn't Secretary Clinton the senator from New York? Why is her campaign dissing the Big Apple?' Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs said in response today.

Iowa Democrats usually do not release raw vote counts from each of the state’s 1,681 caucus precincts.
Based on these results, Mrs. Clinton is set to receive 23 of Iowa’s delegates and Mr. Sanders will earn 21 delegates. There are 4,763 delegates to the Democratic National Convention, so it will require 2,382 delegates to win the nomination.
The Iowa results — the closest in the history of the Iowa Democratic caucuses — were far tighter than Mrs. Clinton and her advisers had expected. But her team embraced the result as a significant win given her previous troubles in the state — she came in third place in the 2008 caucuses — and Mr. Sanders’s popularity with many liberals here. (In a poll last month, 43 percent of likely Iowa Democratic caucusgoers described themselves as socialists.) Still, the close margin privately frustrated Mrs. Clinton and former President Bill Clinton, according to advisers, because they had hoped that a strong win would give her much-needed political momentum in New Hampshire, where Mr. Sanders has a solid lead in opinion polls.
Mrs. Clinton quickly sought to capitalize on the skin-of-her-teeth victory, presenting herself as a winner during a rally in New Hampshire on Tuesday morning as she and Mr. Sanders intensified their competition to win the primary there.
“I can tell you, I’ve won and I’ve lost there — and it’s a lot better to win,” Mrs. Clinton said to cheers at Nashua Community College.
wn.com/Hillary Clinton Declared Winner Of Iowa Caucuses
Hillary Clinton was declared the winner of the Iowa caucuses on Tuesday after final vote counts showed her narrowly beating Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, according to The Associated Press and other news organizations.
According to the final results announced by the Iowa Democratic Party, Mrs. Clinton was awarded 700.59 state delegate equivalents, the terminology used in Iowa to represent candidates’ share of the total caucus vote. Mr. Sanders was awarded 696.82 delegates, and former Gov. Martin O’Malley received 7.61 delegates. Iowa Democrats usually do not release raw vote counts from each of the state’s 1,681 caucus precincts.

On Tuesday, Former President Bill Clinton said that, as candidates, Bernie Sanders and Barack Obama have "traumatic differences" in appeal, and dismissed any concept that the Vermont senator could beat Hillary Clinton, his wife, in the race for the Presidency. Bill Clinton contended that Sanders’ policy positions are a red flag for some Democratic voters, a matter that was not an issue between the Democratic candidates in 2008. Even so, Sanders has struck a chord with young voters, taking 84 percent of support from those 17-29 year olds Monday night in Iowa.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton celebrated as she held a slim lead over rival Bernie Sanders in Iowa's Democratic presidential nominating contest on Monday (February 1).
"Wow, what a night, an unbelievable night!" she exclaimed as she took the stage at a Des Moines rally, alongside her husband, former president Bill Clinton, and daughter Chelsea Clinton.
"This has been an incredible honor to campaign across Iowa with so many of you to make the case for the kind of future we want for the Democratic party and for the United States of America," she added.
Clinton was in a virtual tie with Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist U.S. senator from Vermont. With 93 percent of the precincts reporting Clinton led with 50.1 percent to Sanders' 49.3 percent.
Former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, who had trouble gaining any traction in the Democratic race, planned to suspend his campaign. He was in third place with 0.5 percent.
"I congratulate my esteemed friends and opponents. I wish Governor O'Malley the very best," Clinton said, calling him "a great public servant."
On the Republican side, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz beat billionaire Donald Trump, upsetting the national front-runner in the race to be their party's White House nominee.
Before exiting the stage, Clinton promised to "keep fighting" for her supporters.
"As I stand here tonight, breathing a big sigh of relief -- thank you Iowa -- I want you to know, I will keep doing what I've done my entire life," she said. "I will keep standing up for you. I will keep fighting for you." SUBSCRIBE:►►► http://bit.ly/1fmcCNT ◄◄◄

Hillary Clinton US Presidential Election 2016 A few moments with President Bill Clinton behind the scenes in Iowa.
Hillary Clinton and Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont were locked in an intensely tight race in the Iowa caucuses on Monday as Mrs. Clinton’s strong support among women and older voters was matched by the passionate liberal foot soldiers whom Mr. Sanders has been calling to political revolution.
The close results were deeply unnerving to Mrs. Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, as well as her advisers, some of whom had expressed growing confidence in recent days that they had recaptured political momentum after weeks when Mr. Sanders was drawing huge crowds and rising in the polls. The Clintons had appeared optimistic at rallies over the weekend, thanking Iowans for their support as much as urging them to turn out to vote.
The close vote means that Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Sanders are likely to split Iowa’s share of delegates to the Democratic convention, and Mr. Sanders will be able to argue that the Iowa result was a virtual tie.

Tonight was the first major electoral event on the road to the presidency—the Iowa caucus. Democratic candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are currently in a virtual tie. After Sanders' speech in Des Moines, he walked off while David Bowie's "Starman" played over the speakers. Watch it happen below (around the 16:35 mark).
As PBS points out, the song has been a part of his campaign in the days leading up to the Iowa caucus.
Several high-profile musicians have endorsed Sanders at this point: Neil Young, Vampire Weekend, Lil B, Killer Mike, Jeff Tweedy, Thurston Moore, Dirty Projectors' Dave Longstreth, MC5's Wayne Kramer, and many others.

Sanders on caucus: 'We are taking on the most power ...
Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders were locked in a race for the Iowa caucuses that was too close to project, with 96 percent of precincts reporting Monday night.
The candidates were separated by less than 1 percent. Hillary Clinton led in delegates 27-2 with only two outstanding.
Early Tuesday morning, the Sanders campaign alleged that the Iowa Democratic Party "failed to adequately staff all the precincts," an aide said.
"The campaign is very concerned there is now no way to verify the accuracy of the results in these precincts that are not reporting," the aide added.
But the party insisted those claims were inaccurate. "We have reached out to the campaigns for help in contacting the chairs for our outstanding precincts," a party official said. "We are not taking results from the campaigns. We are taking them from the chairs who are in these precincts."
"There is so much at stake in this election, I don't need to tell you," Clinton said tonight. "Every single one of you who came out for me, who worked so many hours from my young organizers with energy and passion, to the families and friends across this state, I am deeply grateful."

"As I stand here tonight, breathing a big sigh of relief, thank you, Iowa," Clinton said. "I want you to know, I will keep doing what I have done my entire life. I will keep standing up for you. I will keep fighting for you."
Clinton said she wishes Martin O'Malley -- who suspended his campaign tonight -- the "very best," and said she is "excited about really getting into the debate with Senator Sanders about the best way forward to fight for us and America."
Sanders said tonight also greeted a crowd of enthusiastic supporters.

Sanders also thanked O'Malley, saying that he "contributed a whole lot to the dialogue, that he ran an issue oriented campaign, and he won the respect of the American people."
Earlier today, Clinton acknowledged the race in Iowa was “tight,” in an appearance on “Good Morning America,” but said she was optimistic.

After leaving the White House, President Clinton established the Clinton Foundation with the mission to improve global health, strengthen economies, promote health and wellness, and protect the environment.
In addition to his Foundation work, President Clinton has served as the top United Nations envoy for the Indian Ocean tsunami recovery effort and as the UN Special Envoy to Haiti. Today, the Clinton Foundation is supporting economic growth, capacity building, and education in Haiti.
President Clinton was born on August 19, 1946, in Hope, Arkansas. He and his wife Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton have one daughter, Chelsea, and live in Chappaqua, New York.

October 6, 1996
The United States presidential election of 1996 was a contest between the Democratic national ticket of President Bill Clinton of Arkansas and Vice President Al Gore of Tennessee and the Republican national ticket of former Senator Bob Dole of Kansas for President and former Housing Secretary Jack Kemp of New York for Vice President. Businessman Ross Perot ran as candidate for the Reform Party with economist Pat Choate as his running mate; he received less media attention and was excluded from the presidential debates and, while still obtaining substantial results for a third-party candidate, by U.S. standards, did not renew his success of the 1992 election. Clinton benefited from an economy which recovered from the early 1990s recession and a relatively stable world stage. On November 5, 1996, President Clinton went on to win re-election with a substantial margin in the popular vote and electoral college.
In 1995, the Republican Party was riding high on the gains made in the 1994 congressional elections. In those elections, the Republicans, led by Newt Gingrich, captured the majority of seats in the United States House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years and the majority of seats in the U.S. Senate for the first time in eight years.
With the advantage of incumbency, Bill Clinton's path to renomination by the Democratic Party was uneventful. At the 1996 Democratic National Convention, Clinton and incumbent Vice President Al Gore were renominated with token opposition. Incarcerated fringe candidate Lyndon LaRouche won a few Arkansas delegates who were barred from the convention. Jimmy Griffin, former Mayor of Buffalo, New York, mounted a brief campaign but withdrew after a poor showing in the New Hampshire primary. Former Pennsylvania governor Bob Casey contemplated a challenge to Clinton, but health problems forced Casey to abandon a bid.
Clinton easily won primaries nationwide, with margins consistently higher than 80%.
Bill Clinton (inc.) - 9,706,802 (88.98%)
Lyndon LaRouche - 596,422 (5.47%)
Unpledged - 411,270 (3.77%)
A number of Republican candidates entered the field to challenge the incumbent Democratic President, Bill Clinton.
The fragmented field of candidates debated issues such as a flat tax and other tax cut proposals, and a return to supply-side economic policies popularized by Ronald Reagan. More attention was drawn to the race by the budget stalemate in 1995 between the Congress and the President, which caused temporary shutdowns and slowdowns in many areas of federal government service.
Former U.S. Army General Colin L. Powell was widely courted as a potential Republican nominee. However, on November 8, 1995, Powell announced that he would not seek the nomination. Former Secretary of Defense and future Vice President of the United States Dick Cheney was touted by many as a possible candidate for the presidency, but he declared his intentions not to run in early 1995. Former and future Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld formed a presidential campaign exploratory committee, but declined to formally enter the race.
Ahead of the 1996 primary contest, Senate majority leader and former vice-presidential nominee Bob Dole was seen as the most likely winner. However, Steve Forbes finished first in Delaware and Arizona while paleoconservative firebrand Pat Buchanan managed early victories in Alaska and Louisiana, in addition to a strong second place in the Iowa Caucus and a surprising victory in the small but key New Hampshire primary. Buchanan's New Hampshire win alarmed the Republican "establishment" sufficiently as to provoke prominent Republicans to quickly coalesce around Dole, and Dole won every primary starting with North and South Dakota. Dole resigned his Senate seat on June 11 and the Republican National Convention formally nominated Dole on August 15, 1996 as the GOP's nominee for President.
Popular primaries vote
Bob Dole - 9,024,742 (58.82%)
Pat Buchanan - 3,184,943 (20.76%)
Steve Forbes - 1,751,187 (11.41%)
Lamar Alexander - 495,590 (3.23%)
Alan Keyes - 471,716 (3.08%)
Richard Lugar - 127,111 (0.83%)
Unpledged - 123,278 (0.80%)
Phil Gramm - 71,456 (0.47%)
Bob Dornan - 42,140 (0.28%)
Morry Taylor - 21,180 (0.14%)
Convention tally:
Bob Dole 1928
Pat Buchanan 47
Steve Forbes 2
Alan Keyes 1

Despite the steady drop in unemployment following the Great Recession, the concept of economic recovery remains a distant idea that is separated from the daily reality of the lives of many Americans. For the estimated one in three Americans who live at—or close to—the poverty line, the case for focusing on economic and social mobility is both personal and urgent. While some see poverty reduction as a philanthropic endeavor rather than a business imperative, economists increasingly believe that upward mobility enhances growth. This session will begin with a presentation illustrating critical trends, and then invite audience members and panelists to participate in a town hall forum in which they will exchange ideas on strategies that can achieve a just, sustainable, and prosperous future.
• What are the most critical interventions necessary to reverse persistent inequality? How do issues of mobility and poverty impact the work of all CGI America participants -- even those focused on topics like energy and infrastructure?
• How does poverty impact mobility for American families? How are stronger communities, access to high-quality education, and connection to the financial system enhancing access to opportunity?
• What is the business case for taking action to increase economic opportunity among low-income Americans? What outcomes are resulting from private sector efforts to address the opportunity gap—for businesses as well as individuals?
