Epcot: 'Circle of Life' movie closed for enhancements

Future World movie, based on characters from 'Lion King,' features environmental message

"The Circle of Life: An Environmental Fable" film, which has shown at Epcot since 1995, is undergoing enhancements, according to the official Walt Disney World website.

The 20-minute movie features Simba, Timon and Pumbaa, characters from Disney blockbuster "The Lion King," with a conservation message.

"As part of our continuing efforts to exceed the expectations of our guests, 'The Circle of Life' is currently closed for enhancements," reads a message on the Disney World site. Although it does not mention a return date, users who click through the adjacent calendar on the web page will see operating hours as of April 3.

"The Circle of Life," which includes live-action segments as well as animation, is seen in The Land pavilion, part of Epcot's Future World. The area also is home to the Soarin' attraction, which is currently being converted to an updated production called Soarin' Around the World. The new version is scheduled to open this year.

Still operating in The Land is the Living With the Land, a boat tour through greenhouses and other scenes, the Garden Grill restaurant and Sunshine Seasons, a food court.
