Jesse White (actor)

Jesse White (January 3, 1917 – January 9, 1997) was an American television, film, and stage character actor. He is best remembered for his earlier film work and having portrayed the Maytag repairman in television commercials, a role that he filled from 1967 to 1988.

Life and career

White was born as Jonah Marcus Weidenfeld in Buffalo, New York, and was reared in Akron, Ohio. He was called "Jesse" as a nickname. He made his first amateur appearance in local stage productions at the age of fifteen. Though aspiring to be an actor, he worked at many different jobs during the 1930s, including selling beauty supplies and lingerie. After moving to Cleveland, Ohio, White began a career in vaudeville and burlesque, traveling widely before landing a role on Broadway. In 1942, White made his Broadway debut in The Moon is Down, followed by a successful performance in the role of a sanitarium orderly in the popular play Harvey. He would later reprise his role in the 1950 film version and the 1972 television movie.

Jesse J. White

Jesse J. White (born June 24, 1978) is a former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 46th District since 2007. His district included portions of Washington, Allegheny and Beaver Counties.

A native of Washington County, Pennsylvania, White graduated from Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania with a degree in political science. He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. After college, White earned a law degree from Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh. He worked in private practice for a law firm in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and for the United Steelworkers of America in Pittsburgh. He currently maintains a small private practice is located in Cecil Township, Pennsylvania where he also resides.

White was appointed in 2003 to the Board of Supervisors in Cecil Township, Pennsylvania. He made a run at the State House in 2004 in the Democratic primary election against 26-year incumbent Victor John Lescovitz. Lescovitz defeated White with 55% of the vote. After his defeat in the primary, White successfully ran for Auditor of Cecil Township in 2005.

Jake Carter (wrestler)

Jesse Allen White (born 19 April 1986) is an American professional wrestler. During his time in WWE's developmental territories, he wrestled as Jake Carter. He is a second generation professional wrestler; his father, Leon White, competed in professional wrestling as Big Van Vader. He is also a former college football player, having played college football for the University of Oklahoma before retiring due to injuries.

Professional wrestling career

White, like his father (known in professional wrestling as Big Van Vader), first embarked on a football career before trying out at professional wrestling. He joined the University of Oklahoma's football team in 2005, but hip and back injuries ended his career almost as soon as it began, but White stayed involved as a student coach for the team.

White then moved on to training to become a professional wrestler under the tutelage of his father. He wrestled matches in Japan while teaming with his father in 2010 and 2011.

Jesse Jackson White (born 9 January 1988) is an Australian rules footballer for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League. He was drafted to the Sydney Swans on 25 November 2006 with selection 79.

Early life and Basketball

White was born in Melbourne, Victoria to a father who previously played in the Victorian Football Association and a mother that played in the Women's National Basketball League. The family moved to the Gold Coast, Queensland when White was two years old. He attended John Paul College during his high school years. White was first selected to represent Queensland in Basketball at the under 12s level and continued to make representative teams up until the under 18s level. As a basketballer, White was judged the 'player of the championships' while competing for Queensland at the 2005 national schoolboys basketball carnival. Later that year he rejected a scholarship offer from the Australian Institute of Sport to concentrate on football.

Jesse /ˈdʒɛs.iː/,Isai or Yishai (Hebrew: יִשַׁי, Modern Yishay, Tiberian Yīšáy, meaning "God exists" or "God's gift"; Arabic: يَسَّى‎ Yassa; Syriac: ܐܝܫܝ‎ Eshai; Greek: Ἰεσσαί Iessai; Latin: Isai, Jesse) is the father of David, who became the king of the Israelites. His son David is sometimes called simply "Son of Jesse" (Ben Yishai).

Jesse was the son of Obed and the grandson of Ruth and of Boaz. He lived in Bethlehem, in Judah, and was of the Tribe of Judah, he was a farmer, breeder and owner of sheep. He was a prominent resident of the town of Bethlehem. Jesse is important in Judaism because he was the father of the most famous King of Israel. He is important in Christianity, in part because he is in the Old Testament and mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus. Later rabbinic traditions name him as one of four ancient Israelites who died without sin, the other three being Benjamin, Chileab and Amram.

Valotte

Valotte is the debut pop studio album by singer-songwriter Julian Lennon. The album was produced by Phil Ramone and recorded at several studios from February to August 1984. It was released in October 1984 on Charisma and Atlantic. The album was first certified gold in the United States, in the new year, then shortly afterwards being certified platinum. From the album, four singles were released, each with a music video, charting at various positions on the singles charts in both the United Kingdom and US. "Too Late for Goodbyes", the second US single, and "Valotte", the first US single, were both US Billboard Top 10 hits, the former reaching number 5 and the latter reaching number 9. The album peaked at number 17 and 20 in the US and UK, respectively. In early 1985, a few months after the release of the album, Lennon went on tour around the US, Australia, and Japan from March to June 1985.

Dominic Toretto

Dominic "Dom" Toretto appears in all of the films in the series except for 2 Fast 2 Furious, in which he was mentioned. An elite street racer, auto mechanic, and ex-convict, Dominic is the brother of Mia, husband of Letty Ortiz and brother-in-law of Brian O'Conner.

In the first film, Dominic's crew has perpetrated many high-speed truck hijackings, stealing millions of dollars in merchandise. When he is finally apprehended by Brian, Brian lets him go free. He has spent most of his life running from the law, settling elsewhere, in Mexico, Panama, Ecuador, and Dominican Republic, where he abandoned Letty to protect her.
