Stondon Massey is a village in south Essex. It is situated to the north of Brentwood, between Blackmore and Doddinghurst. The village possesses a rural feel to it, and in its first entry to the 'Best kept village in Essex' competition, won 'Best New Entry'.
Stondon Massey hosts an annual Village Fete on the village green.
Stondon means ‘ stone hill’, a Saxon settlement was established near to the site of the 12th Century church of St Peter’s & St Paul’s, where William Byrd, the Tudor composer was buried. A low gravel hill was known as a ‘down’. Hence the name Stondon. Massey is derived from Serlo de Marci, a Norman knight who lived in Ongar.
Stondon Massey is still mainly rural, but there has been a good deal of suburban building during the past 30 years.
There have been three successive manor houses, the oldest of which is Stondon Hall, near the church. The north wing of the Hall is probably of the 15th century, and there is some 16th and 17th century panelling inside.

Brentwood is a town and the principal settlement of the Borough of Brentwood, in the county of Essex in the East of England. It is located in the London commuter belt, 20 miles (30 km) east north-east of Charing Cross, and near the M25 motorway. According to the 2011 Census, the town had a population of 49,463.
Brentwood is a suburban town with a small but expanding shopping area and high street. Beyond this is extensive sprawling residential development entirely surrounded by open countryside and woodland; some penetrating to within only a few hundred yards of the town centre.
Brentwood has been twinned with Roth, Germany, since 1978, and with Montbazon, France, since 1994. It also has a relationship with Brentwood, Tennessee, in the United States.
The name was assumed by antiquaries in the 1700s to derive from a corruption of the words 'burnt' and 'wood', with the name Burntwood still visible on some 18th-century maps. However, "brent" was the middle English for "burnt". The name describes the presumed reason for settlement in the part of the Forest of Essex (later Epping Forest) that would have covered the area, where the main occupation was charcoal burning. An alternative meaning of "brent" is "holy one", which could refer to the chapel dedicated to Thomas Becket, for the use of pilgrims to Canterbury.
The Motor Museum (previously called "the Pink Museum") is a music recording studio based in Liverpool, England. A number of popular music artists have recorded at the premises, including Oasis, The La's, The Coral, Ben Howard, Jake Bugg, The 1975, Atomic Kitten, Tom Odell and Tribes. Music producer Mike Crossey used it as a base for recording the Arctic Monkeys and Blood Red Shoes.
In 2012, Al Groves took over as the Motor Museum’s resident producer. Already an established producer on the Liverpool music scene, he has continued the work of establishing the Motor Museum’s reputation as one of the most desirable recording locations in the UK, having worked with artists like The Tea Street Band and Bring Me the Horizon.
In addition to the usual array of equipment typical of most professional recording environments, the Motor Museum has a number of special features which have been credited with giving both the creative and recording process a unique edge, including its stone room, which adds unique ambient quality to recordings, especially those of drums. The effect of the stone room can be heard on many of the tracks recorded at the Motor Museum, such as at the start of “Supersonic” by Oasis.
